Chapter One

"I got it, Mom..." Jackson muttered, stepping out of his mother's bathroom. His newly dyed hair jetted out in various directions, a towel wrapped around his neck to prevent any remaining stray drops to fall harmlessly. Natalia, the teen's mother, stepped out slightly, following her pup.

"You know, blue looks good on you, kiddo!" she quipped, pushing him playfully out of her room.

"Go on, son. I'm done torturing you. FOR NOW!" the female malamute cried, slamming her door shut with an insane cackle. Her son stared at the door, mouth agape slightly at his mother's antics.

"Freakin' psycho..." he muttered, wandering across the living room to the front door and stepping out into the neighborhood.

The sun was shining brightly on this crisp January morning. Trotting down the sidewalk, Jackson shivered with pleasure as a breeze raked across his scalp. The tingling from the dye was driving him nuts.

Wandering a few blocks down, Jackson found himself in front of Miles' house. His best friend of seven years, Miles was the only person Jackson truly cared about in this world... If Jackson was honest with himself, he knew he was in love with Miles. But he could never...

I can't risk my friendship with him. I love him too much... Jackson thought to himself as he pushed past the gate leading up to his best friend's house. Trudging up to the door, he let himself in, calling out to Miles.

"You home, snaky?"

A scaly head poked out of the room down the hall from the front door.

"Well, if it isn't my little mutt-brother. What're you doing, barging into my man-cave?!" Puffing himself up, the cobra hisses at his best friend, launching himself around the corner and coiling around him as he shifts mid-air into his full snake form.

"Craaaaap, Miles, not agaaaaaaaiiin..." Jackson whined, shifting to full dog form in an attempt to slip out of his friend's coils. Miles, expecting this, tightened his coils, oscillating his scales to strip the dog of his clothing before lifting him into the air by his hind legs.

"Ah-ah-ah, my tricky little friend. I'm hungry." Miles hisses, his maw open, fangs gleaming. Dropping the dog onto his tongue, he quickly pulled his fangs flush against the roof of his mouth, his jaws working to pull the struggling and complaining pup into his throat. With a mighty gulp, the cobra succeeded, devouring his best friend.

"Heh. And you thought you could escape."

"Miles... I swear to god, I'm going to mark my territory in here if you keep this up. Kinky bastard..." came the muffled reply.

Giggling, Miles reversed the movements of his cartilage, carefully dropping his best friend onto his clothes, morphing back into his anthro form with a huge grin.

"You know you like it, pup." He said, hugging his friend around his bare shoulders as he tried to pull his underwear back on, falling into his friend's scaly chest, huffing in annoyance.

"You're gonna end up spearing me with those fangs of yours, and then Ill die, and no one will let you eat them anymore! You'll miss me!" the malamute growled, glaring at his serpentine friend.

"Nuh-uh! 'cause THEN, I wouldn't have to spit you back out, and I could enjoy a nice nap!" the cobra quipped, licking his friend's ear before wandering off to his computer room.

"Grrr..." Jackson finished dressing, sauntering in to sit beside Miles, watching as the snake designed a new roller-coaster on the screen. Leaning back in his chair, he glanced at the picture of Vanessa, Miles' girlfriend of five years. Just two months ago, Miles walked in on her cheating on him with a tiger from across the state. He hadn't spoken a word about her since.

Sighing, the dog brushed his flattened hair back up into spikes.

Miles glanced back at his friend, noticing the stare at the photograph.

"So. You managed to tie the knot yet?" he asked, grinning at his joke.

Smacking his friend upside the head, Jackson blushed heavily.

"You know you'll be the first one I tell when I lose it. I haven't even had a mate in three years. You know I'm not desperate enough to throw it away."

Leaning back in his chair, Miles grins at his friend.

"I know, pup. Just gotta tease you now and again. You never know when you'll find that lucky man."

...I already did. I just wish he was gay. Jackson thought to himself, smiling once at Miles as he went back to his design.

"...so...what are you doing...about her?" he asked, gently.

Miles froze, his head turned slightly towards his friend.

"I told her I never wanted to see her again. I'm still scrubbing her from my life, but Im serious. I won't let her stay in my life anymore."

Jackson leaned forward, laying his head on Miles' shoulder.

"...I'm so sorry...I never thought...that she could ever..."

He whimpered gently, nuzzling his cheek into his best friend's neck.

Sighing, Miles whipped around in his chair, pulling Jackson into his lap with a surprised yelp.

"It's not YOU'RE fault, little brother. You're the best friend I have. Maybe I should marry YOU!" he laughed, making smooching noises by the dog's ear.

"Ewwww! Why would anyone marry a slimy snake like you?!" Jackson shrieked, wriggling to get away.

"Haha, why not? You know you'd like it!"

Miles threw his friend on the floor, slithering up between his legs, his warm and scaly belly grinding against his friend's sheath. Flickering his tongue at Jackson, he giggled at the huge blush burning across his face.

"It sure FEELS like you'd like to marry me..." he grinned, sliding his belly from side to side.

Turning his head away in shame, Jackson laid beneath his best friend, his heart beating like a drum. Trying desperately not to let his cock pulse any more, he whimpered gently without realizing.

Tilting his head to the side, Miles looked at his best friend with hurt eyes.

"...You don't really think I'm disgusting, do you..?"

Head snapping back up to glare at his friend, Jackson growled at him.

"Hell no. You just...I like you, alright? I just... I know you're not like that." Jackson tapered off, his head rolling to the side again.

Miles' breath hitched, a grin spreading across his lips.

"Have I ever, even once, claimed to be straight?" he whispered in the dog's ear playfully, pressing his hardness against his friend's.

Jackson froze, staring at the cobra in shock.

"Hahaha! Looks like you might marry me after all!"

His annoyed groans could be heard three streets over.
