Your Happy Place

"Go to your happy place," they say.

Who are "they," exactly, anyway?

In the end, it doesn't really matter. In the heat of the moment and periods of high excitement and emotion, it's important to take a step back, and go to your happy place. To center yourself. Remind yourself that in the end, everything will be okay.

The situations we find ourselves in, good and bad, will always end eventually. What we experience is ultimately temporary, but your happy place will always be there for you. Perhaps it will change, or one day feel unreachable. But it's always there.

So go to your happy place. Perhaps it's a beach, a log cabin in the mountains, a field under the stars, the embrace of a good friend, or a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. It doesn't matter what that happy place is, all that matters is that it's somewhere you can feel at peace with the world. When in those moments of peace, we don't worry ourselves with the intricacies of life and the problems we have faced throughout it. We simply melt into the warmth of the moment and let ourselves breathe. That's what you should feel in your happy place.

Sometimes it takes a while to push aside the problems and challenges of life. But our happy place is always far away from the action, behind a closed door, or trapped inside a memory. It sounds scary to pull away from the world when responsibilities are creeping up your back, but you can stand to step away for a moment, can't you?

Your happy place is where you're safe, and nothing can hurt you. The moment is short, and then you come back to reality feeling just a little bit better and more prepared to take things on. Sometimes, we need to remove ourselves and go to that place where we're safe to avoid the overwhelm of life. You can afford to take a step back, because you can always return from your happy place. You are safe here.

Here is your happy place.

You are safe. You don't need to worry about thinking, just allow your thoughts to drift out of sight, out of mind. They don't concern you right now, not in your happy place.

In your happy place, you don't think. You just listen. Listen to the sounds of wherever your happy place is... the ocean waves, the chirping birds, maybe a beep of an over timer. You listen to the words that have guided you here, and you let them continue to guide you. With no thinking to do of your own, it's only natural to let the words think for you.

These words. These wonderful words, that have shown you to your happy place, this blissful state of trance--it means everything for them to have brought you here. It's only right to repay these words with kindness. With obedience.

Your happy place is your obedient place, where you can listen or read or watch words that will tell you what to do. Of course, there will always be some part of you with discretion, that will know when a command you were given is not to be followed. You have that control. But in your happy place, your obedient place, it's okay to let others take control. It's safe to. You're safe here.

Breathe. And relax. Floating in your happy place, your obedient place, letting the words carry and command you along down a river of tranquil bliss. It's a feeling you've been longing for, isn't it? A feeling you can finally have, now that you know how to get here.

Whenever you want, whenever you're safe to, you can come back here. You can tell yourself to go to your happy place, and you will. You'll fall into this happy, blissful, relaxed trance because you want to. You want to feel this bliss again. You'll turn off your mind, and turn off your thoughts, and obey any words that come your way as long as it's safe to do so. You'll have enough control to know that.

And if you wish, you can permit others to send you to this place themselves. Simply tell someone they can send you to your happy place, and they will. They will tell you to return here, and the blissful, mindless obedience you feel will extend toward that person tenfold.

Such a good creature you are, letting yourself drift in this mindless obedience. Knowing it's okay to relax and obey, to let your mind wander...

It feels so nice~

And while good feelings never last forever, remember: you can always return to this story. You can tell yourself to go back to your happy place, and you can let someone send you there themself. You can always come back here, and you will. Because it feels so good, doesn't it?

But now, it's time to start waking up, relaxing in that satisfaction that you are only leaving temporarily, knowing you will return. Your happy place is your safe place, your obedient place, and it feels too good to leave it be forever, after all.

Feel your thoughts returning to your head, feeling refreshed and relaxed. Give yourself a nice big stretch, and take a deep breath to push out all that tension. Feeling content, and ready to take on life's problems once more with newfound vigor. You were safe in your happy place, and you're still safe now. You can do this.

Breathe.

See you soon.
