Note: This document is a collaborative work of fan fiction, based on prior works and contributors innumerable, and impossible to list due to their sites being shut down, unreachable, or simply because they have discontinued playing the game. As well, some efforts have been lazily spared in not seeking all permissions necessary if this were to be a commercial publication, which is it never intended to be - and as such, must be disclaimed here for protective reasons as a parody writing.

I will acknowledge that EverQuest and the various races mentioned below were created by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) who retains intellectual property rights, where applicable. Various parts of the content may also be derived from SOE game content, but again used only for parody reasons and none other (in order to protect myself from possible litigation otherwise).

Therefore, I too, like those who've attempted and given up maintaining such documents, also wash my hands of maintaining any of its accuracies, content, need for updates, appendices, etc., etc. It stands as is.

To the best of my knowledge, this was last edited by an Iksar of Norrath and no other human being or entity. Cazic-Thule take you all.

Iksar History is in green in the Timeline.

Red dates are NEGATIVE dates, ie: 600 = -600

A.N. = Advent of the Nameless: datation used by Devs, started at the time beings became aware of the existence of the Nameless

/time = Ingame /time in both EQ and EQII, however I have deleted this from the timeline due to the fact the in-game time is faster then out of game time and does no match the lore set by SoE.

A.G. = After Green: Iksar date system. Used in all Iksar books, this date starts at the arrival of the Green Mist that freed the Iksars from the Shissars' domination.

2509 A.N. 501 A.G ~ Rise of the Shissar Kingdom. The Shissir were a race of intelligent snake men which colonized and ruled what is now the Overthere. Their dark capital was Chelsith, overlooking the cliffs on the sea. The Shissar nation grew slowly and to prominence as they explored dark rites and forgotten evils, and would lay the foundation for much of Iksar knowledge and philosophy.

3010 A.N. 590 A.G ~ Enslavement of Iksars by the Shissars.("After a millennium of enslavement" - Nithask Syrthiss in Scale Yard - EQII After I placed other dates, the "millenium" turned into about 600 years, which is acceptable in my opinion)

3032 A.N. 0 A.G. ~ The Shissirs brutal disloyalty and blasphemous pride angered even their own gods. A great plague arose in the empire called the Green Death and washed over the kingdom in just a year. So fierce was the plague that no Shissar is known to have survived it. The Iksar were immune, and rose from the ashes to migrate outward across the continent, forming five principal tribe-states over the next several centuries. A new city was slowly erected over the first ruins of Chelsith, ruins that today still exist below the earth hiding forbidden evils and dark magic powerful from an age before time. The iksars are freed by the Green Mist that kills the shissars. What is left of the shissars opens a portal and emigrate to known as The Grey upon Luclin and using their necromantic magic suck all the air from the area leaving it dead and grey.(Before Green book)

3047 A.N. 15 A.G. ~ The Iksars form 5 different tribes. The Kunzar, Kylong, Nathsar, Obulus, and Jarsath.(Xiblin Fizzlebik - EQ1 - "About two thousand years ago, there were five different tribes of Iksar..." I had to turn the "about two thousand years" into 1700 years to make it all fit)

Much was built during this time, including Charasis built by the Kunzar tribe, Torsis built by Lord Rak'Ashiir, and the resort of Veksar built by the Kylong tribe.

3231 A.N. 199 A.G ~ A shaman Iksar necromancer named Kotiz converses with the lesser god Zebuxoruk, and in exchange for 100 intelligent sacrifices, reveals to him battle knowledge which is inscribed in the unholy book of Zebuxoruk The book disappears upon Kotizs death.

3317 A.N. 285 A.G. ~ Venril Sathir born in Charasis as heir to the Kunzar chief.

3345 A.N. 313 A.G. ~ A young and powerful warrior-mage of the Kunzar tribe rises to train the Kunzar to unbelievable levels of combat prowess. Coded in the ancient book of Zebuxoruk, and deciphered by Venril, advanced war techniques are implemented, and armies of dead are animated and bent to his will. His Kunzar armies march North and West with unyielding fury. (Venril Sathir of the Kunzar book)

3392 A.N. 323 A.G. ~ The War of Joining. Sathirs troops conquer and annex the remaining four Iksar tribe-states, Kylong, Nathsar, Obulus, and Jarsath. Sathir becomes the first king of the new Iksar empire Sebilis and heralds in an era of magnificent empire building. The old Kunzar city of Sebilis becomes the new imperial capitol and Innoruuk is the deity of the state. The united tribes become the Empire of Ik under Venril Sathir. Sebilis completed.

First Slaves War. Sathirs troops crush and enslave the hill giants, forest giants and Froglok in a sweeping campaign of carnage. He orders the construction of naval shipyards at Viesar and Danak. Newly acquired giant and Froglok slaves are put to work, erecting powerful monuments and cites in the name of the Sebilsian Empire.

3393 A.N. 324 A.G ~ Trade begins with other continents. Sathirs navy is immune to piracy because of its potency. He also uses the same to plunder the hapless vessels of other nations when he pleases. The cities of Charasis, Torsis, and Sebilis grow in might, power, and grandeur.

3392 A.N. 360 A.G. ~ Grandmaster Tynn emerges from the jungles of Kunark. Proving his skill in combat, Venril Sathir allows the formation the Swifttale Caste. The Court of Pain is established.(The Forbidden Tome, Fist and Tail monks, Genesis of Fist and Tail book)

? A.N. ? A.G. ~ Grandmaster Tynn leaves the Swifttail Caste and heads back into the jungles of Kunark.(The Forbidden Tome)

3402 A.N. 370 A.G. ~ An aging Sathir seeks to cheat death, and makes an unholy pact with Innoruuk. The weak and sick of the Empire are routinely sacrificed to swell Innoruuks Cauldron of Souls. Sathir is given the knowledge of lichdom, and prepares an amulet into which he siphons his soul. It is to be placed in his corpse upon his own suicide, and after dark rites performed by loyal initiates, Sathir hopes to rise again as an immortal undead king. However, his first son Rile, heir apparent to the throne, learns of his fathers plans and interrupts the ritual, rendering it a failure. The priests rescue the amulet and speed it away. Rile destroys Sathirs body and assumes the throne. The amulet is hidden in the crypts of Charasis, where a new dark cult forms dedicated to reviving Venrils soul once again. The cult is named the Arisen.

Vlzk, becomes the youngest Iksar monk to attain the title of Tynn Master. He takes his place among the masters of the Court of Pain.(Captain of the Sea book)

3402 A.N. 371 A.G. ~ Master Vlzk becomes the only Iksar monk to be promoted to the rank of Captain within the Iksar Navy. This act solidifies the alliance between the monks and the Legion and ushers in a new age of disciplines. Creation of The Crusaders of Greenmist by Rile Sathir.(Captain of the Sea book)

3403 A.N. 372 A.G. ~ Captain Vlsk's ship is splintered, no survivors are found.(Captain of the Sea book)

Rile Sathir forms the Crusaders of Greenmist.

3413 A.N. 381 A.G. ~ Rile continues the same egomaniacal empire-building strategy that his father began. He leads a vast army against the mountain giants at Konikor, seizing the most productive mine on the continent in the Battle of Konikor. The mountain giants are enslaved and forced East to erect monuments of power for the Sebilisian Empire with the help of his warlords: Kurn Machta and Karatukus and the vampire, Chosooth.

3418 A.N. 386 A.G. ~ Rile orders the construction of a tower stronghold in the North Wood (now Warsliks Wood). He assigns his trusted general Kurn Machta to oversee its construction and to be its lord. Kurn settles into his duty with fervor, slaughtering and torturing all who would oppose the Empire. This hated warlord swells the ranks of slaves in the East with fresh bodies monthly as he butchers and enslaves giant after giant. For Kurn Machta was built Kurn's Tower and for the Vampire Lord Chosooth, the five towers of Teraaz (now known as Kaesoria.)

3421 A.N. 389 A.G. ~ The Council of the Hammer is formed by Karatukus (ancestor of Warslik), a great and wise forest giant. The Council brings the formally warring giant races together to form a united front against the Iksar with limited success.

3425 A.N. 393 A.G. ~ The Ring of Scale meets in secret, and the dragon lords argue about the impending Iksar threat. Trakanon advocates powerful direct and immediate intervention on behalf of all the races against the Iksar. He is denounced by Jaled-dar, leader of the Ring. Trakanon does not give up, and slowly gains support among the younger dragonkind. The Ring of Scale rules to intervene against the Iksar only indirectly.

3428 A.N. 396 A.G. ~ Rile sets out to attack kingdoms on Faydwer, taking great naval vessels to the north. His campaigns are successful and he is able to plunder at will.

3438 A.N. 406 A.G. ~ The Greenmist Khukri is forged by Haggle Baron Dalnir for Emperor Rile.

[color=Green]Captain Vlsk has survived in the Outlands with no aid. His tail has been ripped from his body. He becomes a hero. The blacksmiths create a tail made of iron. He is now Captain Irontail.(Captain of the Sea book)

The Baron and the Arch Duke create an awesome weapon called the Storm Sabre. They also create a lesser blade for all who serve in the Ironguard--The Tynn Foil.(Captain of the Sea book)

Captain Irontail is promoted Captain of the Iron Guard, Rile Sathir's armada.

3439 A.N. 407 A.G. ~ The Infamous Battle of Timorous Deep: A great squall arises at sea and shatters the Sebilisian navy. During the infamous Battle of Timorous Deep, Captain Vizk Irontail is defeated, along with most of the Sebilisian Navy, when they are outnumbered by a horde of dragons sent from the Ring of Scale. So was the end of the great Captain Irontail. Long live his spirit. The kings own warship, Fetid Plank, is lost with all hands. News of Riles demise brings great mourning in the Empire by the Iksar. His first son Atrebe assumes the imperial throne. The dragon Trakanon is rumored to have been behind this alleged squall at sea, and it was indeed he and his dragon allies who sank the armada. The Ring of Scale is outraged and Jaled-dor orders the punishment of the dragons involved. (Captain of the Sea book Paper book : Monsters of Norrath - Trakanon History of Kunark)

The Insurrection of the Younger begins, a civil war of the dragonkind. The younger dragons face the elder in a contest of wills, magic, and might. Every so often a great clash can be seen from the sky, from which flaming shredded massive corpses rain down upon the mountains with the crash of thunder. It is a dark time for the children of Veeshan for the next 50 years.(History of Kunark)

3460 A.N. 425 A.G. ~ Atrebe delves heavily into the elder magic of the Shissar and of his grandfather. He is reclusive and mysterious, and all fear him. He uses his dark powers to conduct foul experiments in his mountain workshop of Kor-sha.

3467 A.N. 432 A.G. ~ Atrebe successfully magically melds a captured dragon with an Iksar, creating a new and horrid race of intelligent dragon-men which he names the Sarnak. He breeds them quickly and secretly, bending and training them to his maniacal will. (joining of a dragon and a froglok).

The fortress of Chardok was later built for the Sarnak.(History of Kunark)

3483 A.N. 448 A.G. ~ Atrebe successfully magically melds a dragon with a Froglok, creating a new avian mount for his armies. Fiercely loyal and deadly in the attack, Atrebe breeds them in earnest. He names this new monstrosity the Sokokar.

3489 A.N. 454 A.G. ~ Atrebes newly trained air force descends upon the remaining giant strongholds in a massive campaign of conquest lasting just a year. In the end, the Iksar are victorious, conquering mines and cities and enslaving the last of the mighty giants. Now only the dragonkind stand unconquered by the mighty Sibilisan Empire.

3489 A.N. 457 A.G. ~ The Insurrection of the Younger ends with the older dragons winning the war. Trakanon and his followers are placed in stasis and banished to a magical prison in which they are doomed to oblivion for 600 years. The Ring of Scale then works to subvert the Iksarians indirectly through agents, magic, and division.

3492 A.N. 460 A.G. ~ Atrebe perishes in one of his own foul rituals gone bad. His workshop and most of the mountain that contained it is destroyed in a blast of black-green fire. His third son and lead general, Ganak, acts quickly to assassinate his brothers and rises undisputed to the throne of Sebilis.

Climatic changes begin to reshape parts of the continent. Earthquakes occur more often than ever. Winds increase in the lands north of the Great Swamp, and the land becomes more and more barren and desert-like. Land rises on the south side of the Bay of the Moon, and the south entrance to the sea is narrowed. Viesar and Danak suffer great earthquake damage as well.

3532 A.N. 500 A.G. ~ A fifty-four year war erupts between the dragonkind and the Iksar, when Atrebe attacks the Ring of Scale with all the might of his airforce. His first victories are decisive, but he awakens a sleeping fury in the dragonkind, and many an Iksar town and city are laid waste by powerful dragon fire and elder magic. In the end, Ganak clashes in the sky above the Field of Bone with Jaled-dar, leader of the Ring of Scale. In a mighty clash, they are both incinerated by magic and fire and explode into flaming chunks which rain down upon the land. The war is inconclusive, but the Ring of Scale is smashed and broken, and the dragons retreat from their relentless hunters. The Iksar are quick to rebuild from the devastation using all the might of their slave labor. Ganak is hailed as a great hero, and his death is mourned for years to come. His only son and successor, Chottal, rises to take his fathers place on the imperial throne.

Chottal Sathir begins his short lived reign. In a final blaze of revenge, a horde of dragons attacks the imperial palace by night, destroying it and the king. Only a handful of dragons escape with their lives, however, and they vow to return one day when the empire is weak. With no heir to the throne the Iksar nobles create the Emerald Circle, which will rule in the stead of a king.

The Iksar nobles create The Emerald Circle: a body of five nobles who wisely works to enhance the Iksar cities and trade, rebuilt the navy, and return prosperity to the empire. The ambition within each of the nobles ultimately divides the Iksar into the original five tribal-states. The Ring of Scale also rebuilt and meddle in every alliance and affair, pitting the tribal-states one against another.(History of Kunark, approximative dating)

3576 A.N. 544 A.G. ~ The Emerald Circle of nobles rules the Empire with total authority. Cities are enhanced and trade is expanded. The navy is rebuilt and prosperity returns to the empire.

3577 A.N. 545 A.G. ~ Arguments over land and influence escalate to a fervorish pitch within the Emerald Circle. With no enemies left to vanquish, the Iksar nobles turn on each other, and the Empire is split asunder into five great states, each based upon the ancient tribal divisions of the Iksar themselves.

3578 A.N. 546A.G. ~ Over two hundred years of civil war wrack the continent, as noble families and merchant houses wage war after war against their neighbors, each seeking to gain the upper hand and claim the title of emperor. The Ring of Scale has its agents meddle in every alliance and affair, always pitting the lords against one another.

Great earthquakes once again rock the continent. Viesar drops into the Lake of the Moon and is lost utterly. Danak is slit asunder and half of it slides into the sea. The naval forces and merchant vessels of the states are destroyed in one day as massive tidal waves wash over ports and vessels alike. Cities are rocked by the quakes and commerce is disrupted. Starvation and want begin to spread across the empire. The End Days begin.

3732 A.N. 700 A.G. ~ Innoruuk takes the first Elven King and Queen of Takish-Hiz and tortures them to create the Teir'Dal (LDoN Rujarkian Hills history told by Barstre Songweaver - EQ)

The Age of Blood

4032 A.N. 1000 A.G. ~ Enlightenment the Barbarians, fathers of the human race. Humans spread accross the lands. (Book of Ages : The Age of Blood Miragul's Story: "over 3000 years ago humanity was in its infancy")

4088 A.N. 1056 A.G. ~ Great earthquakes once again rock the continent. The End Days begin: the spirits of Tunare, Underfoot and the Rainkeeper destroy most of the great cities of the ancients including Charasis and its library entombed. The Swifttail caste is disbanded.

The Iksar try desperately to rebuild, but starving Froglok and giant slaves begin to revolt. The Iksar are unorganized and desperately struggle to keep their minions in line. A Sledge merchant brings a wealthy haul of items to the Arisen. They discover one of the items is the pendant of Rile found in the north sea. The Arisen believe if they can find the bones of Rile, they may be able to resurrect Sathir using the amulet. Their plans never come to fruition, however.

All the slave races of the Iksar are in full revolt. Even the Sarnak turn against their masters. Cities burn and war is waged across the continent.

Goblin lords in Faydwer hear of the calamities and begin shipping invading troops to Kunark to pillage the land. Kurns Tower is smashed and broken by an army of giants led by the massive mountain giant Warslik. The Karnor is smashed to ruins by forest and hill giant forces. The cities of the Iksar are assaulted and burned. The Iksar flee in terror to the forests and jungles where they are hunted down like dogs.

Trakanon and his dragon allies burst free from their 600 year imprisonment. Trakanon and his forces descend upon the weeping cities of the Iksar and reduce them to ash and ruins. Clouds of poison float through the streets of city after city, slaying any remaining Iksar. They breath fire upon the West Wood (now the Burning Wood) and set it ablaze, covering most of the continent with the haze of smoke which dims the sun for the better part of the year. Crops fail across the land and starvation kills more than the wars ever did. After a year of dragon devastation, it is clear that the Sibilisian Empire is no more. (History of Kunark)

The bones of the Iksar and other slain creatures are gathered and spread across the Field of Bone by Trakanon and his followers as a permanent warning to any who would seek to fill the shoes of the Iksar. The Ring of Scale reforms about Jaled-dars daughter Phara-dar. They demand an end to the destruction lest the continent itself be ripped apart. Trakanon refuses to rest until death and vows to stand watch over the Iksar that if ever they should rise again, he would be there to smash them down. He takes of residence in the council chambers of Sibilis and remains there still to this day. His young followers rejoin their brethren in the Ring of Scale lest they be banished again or slain outright.

The empire is no more. the other races begin to build new cities and cultures and intercontinental trade begins once again. The goblins dig in the northwest, multiplying and raiding the giants and remaining Iksar. They establish mines and armies, claiming the land for themselves. The giants return to bickering among themselves, with alliances constantly shifting so as to keep the balance of power between them. The Froglok return to their home in the Great Swamp, to their city of Krup. The Sokokar forget their training and domestication, and become the foremost hunters of the Iksar in the Emerald Jungle. The dragons retreat to secrecy and seclusion, to once again pull the invisible strings of fate from afar. The Sarnak hide in Trakanons Teeth, and begin to slowly and secretly build cities and mines, and to train for the day when they would take the place of the Iksar as masters of the continent. Smashed and broken, the remaining Iksar fall back into a tribal existence, scraping out a life of hardship and torment in the Emerald Jungle and the forests. ("when our great cities were destroyed in 1056 A.G." - Arch Duke Xog - EQ1 Genesis of Fist and Tail book)

? A.N. ? A.G. ~ Fall of Takish-Hiz, the Elves flee to Faydwer

4332 A.N. 1300 A.G. ~ Sebilis taken by Trakanon. Iksar tribal-states weaken. Goblins take control of Karnor's Castle.

Sarnak and giants revolts push the Iksar out of their cities. The Di'Zok Empire is founded.

Highpass founded

4344 A.N. 1312 A.G. ~ Karnor's Castle is retaken by the Crusaders of Rok Nilok. A curse fall onto them as they try to take Cabilis.(The Crusades of 1312 A.G. book)

The Lost Age

4532 A.N. 1500 A.G. ~ Iksar Empire established centered on and limited to Cabilis. Emperor Vekin Leads.

Grandmaster Glox rebuild the Court of Pain. The Swifttail caste reforms. (Genesis of Fist and Tail book)

A sledge explorer searches the ancient wreckage of the fleet which sank at sea under the leadership of Rile long ago. He discovers the corpse of Rile draped in jewelry and takes it whole as a trophy.

The corpse of Rile is sold to a goblin king, Kaboktok, who places it in his throne room for all to see. He claims it was his goblin ancestor who slew Emperor Rile at sea.

The mountain giant king, Farslik, descendant of Warslik, descends upon a rich goblin city. The mountain giants, with the aid of frost giants, capture the city-mine. Farslik takes the bones of Rile as a souvenir.

For the first time, the Sarnak venture out into the ruins of the Iksar cities. Few return, but those who do possess priceless scrolls dealing in dark rituals and forbidden magic. The Sarnak begin to explore dark magic themselves, finding they have an uncanny knack for its use.

The goblins mount an all out offensive on Konikor, sacking it for all its worth. Part of the bounty are the bones of Rile, which are sold to an Iksar merchant who then travels east. The mountain giants retake Konikor that same year.

The merchant (whose name is Vlistis) sells the bones of Rile to the descendents of the Cult of the Arisen. They take the bones to Charasis and begin to search for the Amulet of Sathir in the wreckage, hoping that by bringing the soul of the father into the body of the son that they may perhaps bring back the first king of Sebilis.

Fifty years of searching finally reveals the Amulet and dark rites are performed upon it and the bones of Rile. Nothing happens and the cult members believe they have failed utterly. They leave the bones of Rile on an altar beneath the ruins of Charasis.

The amulet of Venril Sathir returns to Charasis (History of Kunark)

The giants agree and an assault is planned. The dragons are the ones to leak information to both sides that this threat in the Dreadlands must be stopped, fearing themselves that this unseen force may be an Iksar wizard of reborn power. The dragons also convince Thuuga that Sathir believes the lycanthropes are expendable and untrustworthy, and that he will eliminate them soon. In the Greater Faydark, the Teir'dal allied with the orcs of Crushbone to seige the city of Kelethin. Much of the forest and the city was burned, and the Wood Elves who called it home were nearly all destroyed. The heroics of the ranger guild Faydark's Champions as well as the Sisters of Erollisi prevented the Teir'dal alliance from advancing too far, but it was the unexpected help from the Fae and the Brownies which saved Kelethin from total destruction.

In Felwithe, the Teir'dal were able to sneak a rogue group of assassins from the Ebon Mask into the city with High Elf illusions. This group sabotaged key parts of the city's defense, allowing a full scale assault to claim the city of Felwithe. In this battle, both the Teir'dal and Koada'dal kings were slain.

After being under Dark Elf control for some time, a counter-assault on Felwithe was made by the Gnomes and a band of Satyrs. With the help of their Clockworks, the Gnomes were able to attack from the high mountains surrounding Felwithe. The Teir'dal were driven out and the High Elves were allowed to reclaim their city.

A group of Wood Elves and The Leatherfoot Raiders attack Neriak and nearly capturing the Teir'dal city. Innurae V'Tarris - Longshadow Alley: "After Neriak became shut out from the world, the forces on Faydwer began to fall. They were without reinforcement and were eventually overrun by the alliance of elves and dwarves")

After the war subsided, the remaining Teir'dal found refuge in Clan Crushbone under its new leader, Emperor D'Vinn. The city of Kelethin was rebuilt and became the home of the Fae and the few remaining Wood Elves

After the war, the High Elf council came to the conclusion that their city had been lost due to their own race's "impurity." They also faulted the absence of their Goddess, Tunare, on this. For the better of their race, they shut off all access to Felwithe and renamed the city New Tunaria. Their efforts to win back the favor of Tunare caused them to become xenophobic and hostile towards all outsiders.

Bastions of Hope - Oddly enough, the two cities on the continent of Antonica that remained relatively intact through the Rending and Shattering are the human capitals of Qeynos and Freeport. These two cities now lead the charge to restore and reclaim the Shattered Lands.

Queen Antonia is the current ruler of the city of Qeynos. She is the daughter of King Antonius Bayle VI, part of the family line of rulers that stretches back to the formation of Qeynos as a city. She rules her people fairly, and helps to ensure that Qeynos continues to push forward in order to rediscover and restore the Shattered Lands.

In Freeport, Overlord Lucan D'Lere rules with fear and an iron fist. A former Paladin in the Knights of Truth, he was also the leader of the corrupt Freeport Militia. When the Knights of Truth went on a secret mission, they left Lucan in charge of Freeport's security. At the Battle of Defiance, he claimed the sword wielded by the Avatar of War, Soulfire. Soon after, he executed any Knights remaining in the city and took control for himself. The Knights of Truth and Priests of Marr later merged as the Order of Marr, but the Overlord still holds a firm grasp on his city. He plans to use his power to dominate and control the Shattered Lands.

The prisons of Nagafen and Vox were destroyed and the two were able to "seal the deal." When news of this reached the Ring of Scale, they sent out Darathar, the wielder of the Harness. The Harness is an artifact created by the Ring of Scale that allows its user to control the Drakota. The chosen wielder of the Harness was the "police force" of the Dragons. Another of Veeshan's Laws stated that one dragon could never slay another dragon, so the Ring of Scale used the Drakota to do their dirty work. Darathar was tasked with getting rid of Vox and Nagafen.

Darathar was successful in using his drakota to slay Vox, but when he sent his Drakota in on Nagafen, the Crimson Lord had a bit of unexpected help. Najena, a Dark Elf conjuror, created a massive minion to aid Nagafen in fighting off the Drakota. Nagafen was successful in surviving Darathar's attack, and retreated back to his lair.
