HIGHSCHOOL HAVEN - Chapter one - Getting in
?
It's been a year since I graduated from highschool and boy did it suck. I really didn't want to go to college cause I thought I would be a repeat of highschool, well my mother had other ideas. If I didn't want to go I could always help with the family restaurant. College it was, and she choose the perfect one too. Right now I'm standing in the parking lot of this said college with a map of the campus in hand and in big letter on the top its reads "WELCOME TO HIGHSCHOOL HAVEN". "I hate you mom" I mutter as I hung my head.
My name is Ion, Ion proudfang. I'm just your average everyday arctic wolf with one small oddity..the color of my eyes are gold which is apparently rare, who woulda thought heh, anyways I'm about 5 foot 10 inches tall and from the looks of a lot of furs here im small which I don't mind. Another thing is I'm gay, not openly and only a very few people know.
"Where is the dang administration office?" With my attention completely on the map I don't notice the shadow and presence of the person behind me. "PUPPY!!" the presence says loudly with the added poke to my side. I jump and drop everything in my paws. I turn around and start to growl when I see a drop dead gorgeous vixen about the same height as me with stunning violet eyes.
"Who would have thought that my pup would be coming to my college" I stand there with my eyes wide open. "Alyssa? Is that you?" She wraps her arms around me and hugs me tight. "Who else would call you pup, well beside your mom" I glare at her as I remember that I had spend an entire year without any contact from her. Not a text, email, letter..nothing. Her parents didn't like me all that much because I wasn't rich like them. If it wasn't for alyssa being the black sheep of the family I would have never met her. She means the world to me and she knows all my deepest secrets
"A year" she tilts her head and looks at me confused "what do you mean?" "Alyssa you haven't sent one thing to me for an entire year". She looked at me even more confused. "Ma told me that you didn't send anything to me when I asked her" I sigh and open my backpack pulling out 8 letters with her name and address on it each saying return to sender "I hate my parents" "I hate your parents". We both look at each other and laugh hard. I give her a quick hug and smile "I missed u so much. Its been real shitty since you left". "I'm sorry I left. I had to get away from home and this was the best normal place I could find". Alyssa comes from a well known rich family and she's the only one that isn't stuck up and pissy..sorry prissy. Instead of being "lady like" she chose to be normal and friendly to others. She went to a regular highschool and was very popular there. When I started to go there she was the first to approach me, even though I tried to ditch her she always seemed to know where I was. To get her off my back I spilled to her that I was gay hopping that she would be shocked into going away. What threw me off was she said "find any guys that you like cause I got dirt on them all" we've been best friends ever since.
"Well it just so happens to be that I am the new representative for the school which mean I get to show you and other new students around" she smiles at me as we slowly start to walk. She starts to lead me to a small group of kids that I knew were..well new. The only one that really stood out in the bunch was the gray timber wolf who was sporting a camo hoodie. He had his head turned towards me and alyssa and I could see his hazel eyes looking very uninterested. I stood next to him as alyssa moved to the front and faced us. "Now, one and all, may I welcome you to highschool haven. Please don't let the name fool you this place is like a haven for those that want to learn and/or get away from home. Some wanting to get away from home then others" she added the last part quietly and everyone chuckled some.
"Miss alyssa might I borrow you for a moment?" the tall wolf called a bit away. "Be there in a moment professor! Ok while I'm gone please feel free to get to know the others in the group. Making friends makes being here even better" she said as she walked off. As I marveled at the size of the campus I barely noticed the paw that was extended next to me. I look down at the paw then to its owner who was the hoddied wolf. "Names Soot, nice to meet you" I take his paw and shake it slowly. "I'm Ion. Nice to meet you" "Same here. If you don't mind me askin how do you know her?" He nodded over at alyssa. "Me and her went to highschool together...why you want to date her?" He pulled his paw back and looked at me shocked. I smile and snicker "sorry I had to ask. A lot of guys want to date her and even more look up to her, she's very kind when you get to know her".He shakes his head just as alyssa starts to skip back over to the group. "Ok everyone shall we go to the administration office so we can get you signed up for classes?" everyone nods and we start walking. It was a long quiet walk.. As we approached the building a few other students walked out of it all of them wearing football uniforms. A horse, a leopard, and a lion/bull hybrid each one of them laughing and talking to each other.
"Hey guys!" alyssa shouted to them. All of them smiled and started coming over. While the rest of the group walked into the building I stayed behind with alyssa. I wasn't even really paying attention cause my eyes were glued to the lion/bull. He was tall, muscular and very hot. I had never seen anyone quite like him. If it wasn't for the horns you'd just think he was a lion. He caught my stare and grinned big which made me blush and look away. "Hey alyssa how's everything goin? You finished showing the newbies around?" said the horse as alyssa and him kissed. "You use to be a newbie too greg remember?" alyssa glared at him "Ouch" the leopard snickered. All three of them looked at me which made me lay my ears flat and curl my tail between my legs. "Who's he?" she walks over and wraps her arms around me nuzzling softly into my neck "he's my new boyfriend". As soon as she said boy greg the horse took a step forward and both mine and the lion/bull's ears dropped but I didn't notice. Alyssa got in front of me and smiled big up at greg "wow you get jealous quick *sighs* this is ion, my friend from highschool and someone whom I haven't seen an a year. We were just catching up." Greg sighs but doesn't take his eyes off me. I leaned up to her ear and whispered "I'll catch up you later kay?" she nods slowly and I head into the office with the feeling of a glare at my back. I turned my ears when I heard a smack followed by greg saying "ow! What was that for?!" I walked up to the desk where an owl had her attention focused on the papers on her desk. I cleared my throat and she looked and blinked at me. "Ion proudfang?" she asked. "Yes ma'am" I nodded to her and she got up. "Please follow my to the exam room. The test will determine which classes you will be taking this year, during the next year you will be able to change classes to fit the career path you wish to follow. Do you have any ideas on what you want to do?" I looked down and she huffed "just like all the others" she said under her breath. We walked down the hall and as we passed a wall with cubby holes she picked up a large packet of papers.
All of a sudden she stopped, turned around and held her paw up to stop me. The sudden stop making me lose balance some. "This is the exam room" she hand me the papers "this is the exam. Please fill it out to the best of your ability and DO NOT leave ANY blank answers for that would cause some major problem in your placement. You may listen to music but please do so quietly so as to not disturb others" I nod and take a step to the door only to be stopped again making me look at her confused "phones off". I lay my ears down and turn my phone off in my pocket. As soon as she hears the sound of my phone turning off she walks past me and back to her desk. I stick my tongue out at her turned back and walk through the doors "stupid old bat". "I HEARD THAT" she said and I ducked inside. I spotted soot looking at me, I nod and he does the same as I sit down next to him. "God that owl is a bitch" I said aloud making a few others shush me which only enticed soot to snicker. "She was to all of us. Bet you she hasn't been laid in years" a few kids snickered along with me. He went back to his exam after the comment but all I could do was stare at his thick muscular arm. "Damn this kids got muscle. Bet he can hold his own in a fight too" I thought. I sighed and rolled my eyes as I started on the exam quickly skimming and answering questions. Math and english were so easy I finished them in minuets. History was another story, it had question that wanted the background of a certain name, item or word. This subject took some major thinking which took most of an hour answering. I closed the packet and snapped it shut, in that instant all sound of writing stopped and all eyes we on me. I got up and walked out of the room. I slowly walked back to the desk of the owl my mind wondering about those history questions, completely oblivious of the glare she was giving me.
As I walk out the door im all of a sudden pounced and slammed to the ground. I rub my head and look up to see alyssa sitting on my chest. "Didn't you use to do this in highschool to me" she nods "yeah but this college is called highschool haven" she says putting highschool in air quote. She stands up and hold out her paw to me, I grab it and she pulls me up "wouldn't that make it a haven from highschool not a repeat?" All she did was shrug and say "iono". Definitely not the response I was looking for. We started walking in silence after awhile I looked over at her and she looked deep in thought. Trying to break the silence I asked "when is your dad suppose to get back?" She perkes her ears up "OH! Hes suppose to be back in a week. Wanna come over and meet him?" "Doesn't your mom hate me?" she grins "when daddies around she always act nice to everyone even those she hates hehe" I grin as well "oh well then please do let me come over cause I want to really see if she can hold out". We both stop and she grabs my paw "what wrong?" "We shouldn't be here...at least you shouldn't". I looked at her confused "Wh-" "ALYSSA!!" she groans and sighs "to late" her face went from annoyed to instantly perky. "Hey!" she shouts and waves. I look behind me and I see the lion/bull jogging toward us and behind him the football field and his teammates.....and greg. "Alyssa u never properly introduced me to your friend here" he says as he smiles down at me. "Those eyes..blood red but they look so..gentle" I shake my head from the thought, he was extremely tall and very well build a real lady killer. He stuck his paw out "I'm John Trent. Nice to meet you" I slowly take his paw "I'm Ion Proudfang, nice to meet you too" for a split second a though I felt his thumb rub my paw but before I could get a good feel he pulls back. "JOHN GET YOUR GIRLY BUTT BACK OVER HERE!! WE GOT PRACTICE" he glared "COMING COACH, see ya later k pu..uhh..guys?". Me and alyssa both nodded "NOW!!" he smiled at me again and ran off. "Ok that was weird...he never comes and meets any new furs. He avoids them like the plague" she snickers "he must really like you". I gave a half-hearted laugh "ha yeah right hes way to hot to be gay" "you never know" was all she said with a shrug....oh but I did know it was a fact that 9 times out of 10 the hot guy was straight and that 1 he usually had someone.
"Im gonna head home k?" "Awww already? Cant you stay a bit longer?" she tilted her head and stuck out he lower lip attempting a puppy pout. She has it down pat but nothing compares to my mom when I'm late getting home. "If I don't my moms gonna kill me" we both shared the ouch face and she hugged me tight. "God I missed you so much" "missed you too and I cant wait to meet your dad" I started to walk off and she shouted "love pup!" making me smile and wave back. I got home and walked inside. I walk into the kitchen and set down my backpack on the floor grabbing an apple off the counter. "How was your day sweety?" "It was...pretty good. I meet up with sam again" as she's skinning an apple she says "I'm glad you two got back together" then she turns around and points the knife at me "and I told you it would go good" I shrugged "your still a bitch" she grins and points to her shirt "ah! Read it" she turns around and on the back of the shirt it says in big red letters "official bitch license" I sigh, roll my eyes and bite into my apple "but I still love you".

*falls over panting* finally I finished it!! My first story!! In my head this story looked a lot better and I understand that I described a lot of things. I know for a fact I cant write worth of shit so go easy. I skimmed through school and now I wish I hadnt. Would have made writing a lot better. Anyways I hope you enjoyed my story. There will be more chapters and a surprise in the next installment.......ALSO I really do call my mom that, she calls me those kinds of things and we both know that we are both joking. She really does have the shirt too lol.
