They Were Roommates

Brad woke up with a jolt, feeling a slight pain on his shoulder. "What the...?" As he opened his eyes, he saw his roommate, Jeremy, with his teeth deep in his shoulder. Pushing him away with a grunt, Brad shouted, "What the hell, man? This is one weird morning call!"

Jeremy had just returned after getting some supplies to refill the fridge during the night. While he can easily do that in the middle of the day, he's not a fan of bundling himself in a pile of clothes just to minimize the irritation a vampire gets from the sunlight. Not deadly, but he'd rather not have rashes. Besides, his programming work doesn't require him to go outside anyway, the brunt of it done in his room.

He just got back into the apartment when he saw Brad falling asleep on the couch, with the television left on in the living room. The poor vampire, knowing that he has feelings on the roommate, lost his instincts seeing Brad being so... defenseless, not to mention that he hasn't been getting his weekly blood intake. His eyes turned black, and he immediately sank his fangs into Brad's shoulder.

Feeling the pain from getting pushed, however, regained his senses. Jeremy blinked, his eyes turning blue once more. He panicked seeing the blood on his mouth and on Brad's stomach. "Oh no no no, Brad, I'm... I didn't mean to, I swear! You're turned into one of me now, I..."

Surprisingly, Brad grabbed his shoulders. "Whoa whoa, easy there, bud. Deep breaths... Deep breaths..." Once he sees Jeremy calming down, not trembling anymore, he decided to go for it. "So, I got a hunch from the start, but this confirms it. You're a vampire, aren't you?"

Jeremy was surprised. "I- I am, and I... Wait, excuse me, how are you so calm? How do you come up to that conclusion? Also, I just turned you, for fuck's sake!" He was even more confused when he saw Brad smiling. "Well, I should have fallen asleep earlier, hmm? This makes it easier then. You know why I did that today, Jer?"

Jeremy's eyes bulged over the realization. "Wait, are you a vampire too? But that doesn't make sense, you would go out during the day too, I know I heard the apartment door opening and closing..." Brad laughed at this, "Oh, Jer, you silly goose. I guess it's my fault for hiding it so well, huh? Well, a hint for you. Why don't you open the window, hmmm?"

Still flustered over how calm his roommate is, he followed his instructions. Seeing the full moon in the night sky, he connected the dots. "Wait, you don't mean-" Before he can finish his sentence, though, he heard a grunt.

"Nghhh, enjoy the show, Jer..." Brad grunted and fell to all hours. He growled as he felt his muscles growing, his bones cracking and reshaping, fur starting his entire body. He felt his ears getting longer, his nails becoming claws, his teeth becoming fangs, and a snout forming on his face, a tail forming. He sported a feral smile from the increasing power, as he hears and smells everything. Feeling the transformation coming to an end, the towering werewolf stood and howled at the moon.

Jeremy was petrified, he should have ran away but he remained still, watching the transformation. Brad lowered his face, chuckled with a deeper voice. "Soooo, does this explain everything, bud?"

Jeremy stuttered. "You- I- So- Ah, y-y-you're a w-w-werewolf?" Brad laughed over this, "Bingo! Seems like this apartment is filled with supernatural beings after all, eh, Jer?" Jeremy asked, "B-but I couldn't smell you, I thought..."

Brad answered, "Told you, I am an expert on hiding my presence. You though, Jer, I swear..." He shook his head. "You, uh, really need to control yours, bud. I got a feeling when I smelled blood, but I, uh, can also sense your feelings towards me when we first met. I have to admit, I'm impressed." His tail wagged when he said this.

Jeremy blushed, his crush! "Oh, no no no, I- uh- Ooh." He placed his hands on his face. "This is really awkward." Brad placed his paw on Jeremy's shoulder. "Hey, it's all right, really. I had planned on telling you about this soon enough, but you beat me to the punch. And about that feeling of yours, let's just say that I might have similar feelings on you too when we first met, cutie." He winked.

Jeremy's face looked like a tomato. "Y-you mean... You... I-I'm so glad, Brad! Well, since everything's out, uh, wanna... go on a run?" Brad barked, smiling with his tail thumping ferociously on the apartment floor at his point. "Well, sure I do, Jer. Do keep up with me, will you?"

The two held hands, and from that point on, the new supernatural couple had a blast for the future nights to come. No more of those days where Jeremy locked himself in the room. Now, Brad accompanies him, giving him some precious company.
