#12 of Fae's Christmas Music-Themed Special!

Hey there, furballs, and welcome to the first story of Fae's Christmas Music-Themed Special, the 2010 edition! I've been hard at work, putting more music-inspired stories together for this year's Chrissie special, all for your enjoyment!

Today's December 21st, 2010! You'll be getting more stories on the 22nd, the 23rd and the 24th, culminating in the continuation of Cameron and Ryan's story on Christmas Day. As with previous years, the stories are based on the themes or titles of certain pieces of music which I enjoy, and this year I'm also exploring some ideas that I don't normally put into my furry pieces! So enjoy some experimental looks into my writing this year, as well as the tail!

Anyway, I've waffled on plenty, now. Onwards, and enjoy the stories!

Chains

Stone floors have a habit of being a little hard. This isn't usually a problem unless you happen to fall towards one. It hurts when you trip; it's a whole other matter when you're tossed at one from atop a short staircase.

That impact was more than enough to draw a pained grunt from Koven Custidos. The dirt- and grime-caked rat slammed into the stone with bone-jarring force, and he tumbled for a moment before he came to rest at last on his back. He took a long, slow breath of the dank air as he looked back up the stairs, at the brightest source of light in the room he lay in. The figure of the armoured wolf that had taken him and thrown him down stood tall, and one of his paws rested on the hilt of his sword as he waited and flicked his gaze briefly up behind the rat. When Koven made no move to rush up the stairs again, the lupine stepped back and slammed shut a thick, heavy wooden door.

As the sound of several latches clicking into place reached the rat's ears, he sighed and lay his head back down on the cold stone beneath him. His fur was streaked with black; it was hard to tell that at one point it had been a soft, warm brown that matched his eyes. A pair of tattered leggings protected his modesty but little else, and patches of his fur seemed to be on the verge of falling out. The kingdom of Sulorvis was many, many things. Easy on the criminals they caught? That wasn't one of them. Their dungeon cells were known to be places where the worst offenders were simply left to rot in their filth for the considerably shortened remainders of their lives.

With a sigh and a rub over his side, the rat slowly rolled himself up onto his paws and knees. That was when the rustle of chain against stone reached his ears, and he froze up instantly. The sound continued for a couple more seconds, before Koven dared lift his eyes. He whistled as he drank in the sight before him, eyebrows raised in surprise. "Well... they didn't say I'd have a cellmate now, did they?"

The black-scaled dragon snorted quietly as he pulled himself up higher against the back wall of the cell. He wore absolutely no clothing, deprived of even that little modesty that Koven himself was afforded. His wrists and ankles were bound by thick, heavy bands of black metal, the latter bolted to the wall behind him and the former connected to the stone only by a short - but no less thick - chain. The quiet rustle of chain that Koven had heard came from the scaled male's wings, wrapped again and again by tightly bound chains that were only slightly slimmer than those connecting him to the wall. Even his tail was wrapped up in metal, bound by rings that were as stuck to the wall as the bonds near his feet.

As interesting as the dragon's predicament was however, the rat's gaze drifted higher. He looked up past the male's bright yellow eyes, and fixed on his horns. The tips ground against the stone lightly, though not enough to carve ruts into it. Their dull grey was what captured Koven's attention, though. What he saw instead were the black brands and tattoos that ran along every inch of those horns. Elaborately printed on them were unique marks that were not of the kingdom of Sulorvis. They were the brands of the Empire of the Dragon, to the far south. And yet, something about them seemed vaguely familiar to the rat... "My, my. Did I do so badly that they thought to lock me up with a Bloodscale? Or do my guards want to intimidate me?"

Again the dragon snorted. He said nothing as he pressed back against the wall again. He didn't even seem to be bothered by the constant tug at his wrists; his arms, high above his head, had to feel the strain of keeping him aloft. The constant grind of his ankles against their bonds couldn't be much help either. He was suspended just barely off the ground, equally barely unable to support his weight. He was a prisoner as well, and in the midst of considerably worse treatment.

It was the kind of thing Koven had only heard horror stories about. He stood up slowly and walked over until he stood right in front of the dragon. He took a step back as the warrior chained before him leaned slowly forward as far as his restraints would allow. In the light of the cell's single, barred window high above them, Koven was able to make out the brand of the Merzaa - the ruler of the Empire - pressed into the scales of his cellmate's cheek. Realization dawned on the rat; even he'd not been so out of touch as to not hear the news. "By the ancients. You're Calix, aren't you?"

"You have heard of me." The words were deep, laced with the most vicious of growls and tainted by the male's obvious thirst.

"You're damn right I've heard of you, snake! All of Sulorvis is talking!" The rat chuckled as he shook his head with disbelief. "It's not every day that the Merzaa's bodyguard is caught skulking around Peladirrin. Our kingdom is not for your kind." He smirked up at the bound warrior. "What happened? Did you forget the wars your kind repeatedly inflicted upon Sulorvis? Our neighbours in Kel'halla? Did you just decide all of a sudden, 'The kingdom's capital looks good today; I suppose I shall go have a stroll through its main street,' or is there something more to your visit?"

When the dragon fell silent and drew back against the wall again, Koven danced closed. "Hey, no need to be so shy! We're all prisoners here, aren't we? Or what, the big, bad Bloodscale can't talk with an inferior rat?" The Bloodscales, most prized fighters in the ranks of the imperial dragons, were known for their vicious fighting ability. It wasn't uncommon for children of the kingdom to be scared away from staying out late by stories of the savage fighting of the Bloodscales. That they were known to rip a spine from one's back with their bare claws didn't dispel this image.

"You know, I heard about you," he continued, as he looked up and over the dragon's silhouetted features. "It was all over the kingdom. It said that when they discovered you, it took three divisions of the Peladirrin city guard to take you down." The rat grinned as he looked over the dragon's body. There wasn't even a scratch on his scales. Either he'd shed between then and Koven's arrival in his cell, or he'd never even really been touched by Sulorvi weapons.

There was silence for a few moments, and Koven started to wonder if the dragon would speak at all. Then Calix growled again from within the shadows. "You are mistaken," he replied, and the rat caught the briefest glint of too-sharp teeth through those shadows. "It took five divisions."

The pride of the Bloodscales was justly deserved, and Koven admitted to himself a new respect for the warriors even as he looked on his first. "Your reputation is proven, I guess. I'd have hated to be the guards that stood against you." Again he chuckled as he looked the dragon up and down. "I wonder why they didn't kill you. Eighty warriors just to take you down, but... not a scratch."

"The wounds are in my back," Calix replied, and there was no mistaking the bitterness in his tone as he spoke. "The cowardly furball had not the honour of facing my front to strike me. Besides, they would not wish to harm me too considerably." He snorted a couple times, and Koven had to listen to it for a moment before he could identify it as a parched laugh. "They wish information of me. They chain me... they starve me, deprive me of water, of sleep." His fingers curled into fists as he tugged slowly on his restraints. "They get nothing from me. I will die with my knowledge. I will not dishonour the Merzaa. I will not dishonour my people."

With a snort of his own, Koven nodded and turned away briefly. "Yeah, I know what you mean," he said as he pressed his back against the wall beside Calix and slowly slid down it. "They want the same out of me, you know. Want to know where my boss is, so they can send the soldiers in to kill him." He thudded his chest with one first as he looked up at his bound cellmate. "That's not me! That's not how Koven does things!"

When Calix didn't reply, the rat leaned his head back against the cold stone wall. "Ah... it's not gonna make a difference. The Baron's making the sale of the slaves he's collected here in a couple days. They're not gonna catch him before they're sent out to Roneches. I hear he's got buyers lined up already." He grinned as he glanced up at the dragon again. "I hear the noble family running Roneches has quite the slave pen. If only the royal family knew!"

Again, only silence greeted Koven. He was about to open his muzzle to make another comment before Calix beat him to it. "Do you not fear that your running your muzzle will be overheard by the guards?"

The rat just waved one paw and shook his head as he blew a raspberry. "You're kidding, right? Do you even know where you are? They're not going to hear anything down here. The guards are a couple levels up. These cells are sealed off. It'd take siege equipment to break us out from the inside." He raised his voice to a loud shout. "Not hearing a bloody thing, are you? You godless, snivelling, arrogant bastards!"

He chuckled as some of the other prisoners in cells beyond the thick wooden door shouted obscenities back at him. "Y'see? Nothing. It's just us down here." The rat grinned wider still as he turned back to Calix. "Only caught me because I came up out of the Underground. Was told I was collecting a debt from one of the arenas down there... hey, you might like 'em! You imperial dragons love your gladiatorial bouts, don't you? It's how you choose your Merzaa, right?"

Koven laughed as the dragon simply stared silently back at him. Finally, the rat shrugged as he leaned his head back against the wall. "So what were you doing out here? Guards can't hear you all the way down here, buddy."

"I am not your 'buddy.'"

"I sure may as well be," Koven replied with a smirk. "You've got no one else to talk to, do you? I got nothing to gain by spilling your story to the guards, do I? And hey, I already told you what I was up to. You'd think the guards would have noticed what I said by now, wouldn't you?"

Still, the dragon refused to speak. Koven sighed quietly as he rubbed back and forth over his legs in a vain attempt to brush the grime out of it. "Gotta say though, I'm already missing the outside. By the ancestors, you should have seen it! Got a couple pretty young things for my service, mine to use however I pleased. Ha! Little mousy girl - Cheraline, or Charlune, or something like that - good grief she was snug! Fit around me so tight, I thought she was gonna-"

"I do not wish to hear this," Calix interrupted. His tone was firm.

Koven immediately shut up as he turned towards the dragon. "Why not? Something wrong with sharing a story or two about the pleasures of the outside world with your cellmate? Or do you just not wanna hear about all the delicious tail just waiting beyond those walls?" He grinned. "Got a female waiting for you back in the Empire, then? All alone, without her big, bad Bloodscale there to rut her?"

The dragon held his tongue as he tugged again at his restraints, but Koven knew that his words had a certain effect. A slight motion caught his eye and drew his gaze down, and his eyebrows raised slightly as he watched the lips of the warrior's genital slit start to part. The tip of an impressively thick, ebon shaft began to slide free, as Calix growled quietly to himself. "Now look at what you have done," he muttered.

The rat just laughed heartily and shook his head as he sat his backside down on the cold stone floor. "Well, woul'ja look at that! The big bad dragon's just a male like the rest of us!" He continued to laugh, shaking his head as that more-than-modest length continued to grow before him.

Despite any shame Calix might have felt, it wasn't enough to flag his growing malehood. "You waggle your tongue in just such a way, and I defy any male not to react similarly," he growled, and he rolled his eyes as he glanced away from Koven. "Ignore it. It will pass."

"Pfft. Like that's gonna be as easy as you reckon," Koven replied as he finally got his laughter under control. He met the dragon's eyes again as Calix turned back to him. "How long've they had you locked up? Hell, how long you been away from the Empire, mmm? If I got that kinda reaction that quick, you've gotta be one needy guy!" He winked again. "Bet the females back home love that, eh?"

Again the dragon growled, but the sound wasn't just one of anger or frustration anymore. There was a hint of need beneath it as Koven spoke, and Calix snapped it silent as he shook his head as best he could against his restraints. "That is no business of yours," he snarled. His malehood protruded out from his slit though, adamantly ignoring the bound warrior's mental command to retreat. A bead of pre began to form at Calix' tapered tip, and he strained against his bonds again.

Koven remained quiet for a few seconds, as he looked the restrained dragon up and down. His eyes lit up, and he grinned as he pushed himself upright again. "Well, let's make it my business, eh?" he suggested, as he strode forward. He just grinned up at Calix as he reached out, and squeezed gently at the middle of that protruding draconic shaft. "That just looks nasty, to me. Gotta help a guy out sometimes, right?"

"I... ah... I would prefer you to step away now," growled the dragon, as he pulled himself back against the wall. All that did was slide his shaft back along the rat's gripping paws, and he shivered against his shackles even as he pulled forward again and thrust lightly into that tight grip.

"Don't feel like you'd prefer any such thing," Koven teased, as he began to rub lightly back and forth over that slick, sensitive flesh. He moved his fingers opposite the thrusts of the dragon, and his digits worked up and down along the Bloodscale's length in spite of his growl. "But hey, if that's really whatcha want, who'm I to argue?" And with that, he gave Calix' length one last squeeze before he let go.

It took the dragon all of a second without that contact to give a wordless growl. He stared down at the smirking rat beneath him as his hips twitched, stirring his dripping malehood through the empty air. "Thought you wanted to be 'buddies' a moment ago," he said, and there was a little waver in his voice as his shaft throbbed once more.

"Thought you wanted me to stop a moment ago," countered the rat as he grinned wider. He shrugged as he reached up again, and he dragged one fingertip slowly over the tip of the dragon's length. "Tell you what, big fellah," he said, as the Bloodscale released a quiet moan, "I'll help you out here. I'll even give you the benefit of a warm muzzle, if you'd rather. But c'mon, help a curious guy out! Lemme know why you came all this way."

The dragon worked his jaw for a moment as he kept looking down over Koven, and he frowned deeply. "You think that you could actually fit that inside your mouth?" he asked, incredulous.

"Near enough," the rat replied again, and he grinned as he leaned forward. His paws slid down and along the dragon's shaft, and his teeth flashed in the dim light as he nosed up along the underside of it slowly. "Enough for what you'd enjoy. Considering the offer?"

"More than I really think I should," admitted Calix.

"Well then, I s'pose I just need to give you a little more encouragement!" Koven replied with a grin. He reached out with both paws again as he grinned wider still, and he clearly caught Calix's gasp as the rat took hold of his shaft again. He gave that length a warm squeeze as he stepped a little closer, close enough for the dragon's tapered tip to almost press against his chest. His fingers played down and along Calix' slick flesh, right to the base and almost pressing lightly into the dragon's slit.

Calix muffled his groans as best he could, but that wasn't enough to keep himself silent. Little grunts of strain escaped him as he pulled against his restraints, growing more and more eager to grind his malehood into the smaller rat's dexterous paws. He couldn't help but give a quiet moan as a little squeeze sent a tingle of pleasure right up his spine, and his length pulsed lightly as his tip shot a little burst of hot, slick pre right up against Koven's neck. "I hope," he managed to growl, "that your tongue is as nimble as your paws."

Any further words the Bloodscale was apt to speak were drowned out, silenced in his throat. They were swiftly replaced by a fresh moan as Koven began to work those nimble paws back up along the dragon's pulsing length. "We don't got a deal yet, though," the rat countered with a grin, as his paws began to rub up and down opposite one another. As the dragon squirmed above him, he added, "Why'd you come all the way up here to Sulorvis, mmm? What's a big, horny Bloodscale doing in our kingdom?"

In spite of the words and driven by Koven's fingers, Calix released a quiet, shuddering growl through a mostly-sealed muzzle. It wasn't until the rat started to slow and relax his grip on the needy male's shaft that the dragon finally hissed a quiet sigh. "I... am here to scout your military might."

"Awwr, now that's better, innit?" In response, Koven grinned wider still. He leaned down to the tip of the Bloodscale's slowly-dripping shaft, and he nosed lightly against it as he resumed his long, smooth strokes. "See? No harm, lots of pleasure." And with that admission, the rat angled his head down a little further and made good on his promise.

The sudden damp heat wrapped around the head of Calix' length was enough to rip a significantly louder moan from the dragon's throat. It was a slight thing, just the warm press of firm lips around his tip and the tease of a light little tongue across it, but it was more than the Bloodscale had experienced in far too long. He fell slack against his restraints as he lay his head back against the wall, back lifted from it as far as it could go in order to try to push still more of his length into the rat's waiting mouth.

But Koven wasn't ready to do that, and he drew back just barely enough to keep that tip pressed between his lips. One paw slipped to the underside of Calix' malehood, enough to keep it tilted up and into his muzzle as the other rubbed and squeezed over the top. He murred quietly around the dragon's tip as his tongue coiled around it and licked across it, a uniquely spiced taste mixed with the usual flavour of aroused malehood as a fresh little drool of hot pre soaked his palette.

The flow of that pre only grew stronger as Calix' length pulsed between Koven's lips. He groaned each time the rat's lips squeezed just a little tighter, each time those delicate little fingers ran over each of the bumps and ridges of his length. But it wasn't enough for him and, try as he might, he couldn't convince the rat to further work his malehood with his body language. Koven seemed content to simply tease him, to work him up and keep him almost painfully hard. "I told you what you wished to know," he managed through a heated moan. "Did you not prom-ah!"

He was cut off swiftly by the feel of those warm lips slipping down along his malehood. Words transmuted almost immediately into pleasured groans as inches vanished down into the rat's hungry muzzle. He slurped noisily all the way down, and the sound sent a shiver up Calix' spine as more and more of his length was swallowed up. "Much better," he added, as he leaned back against the wall again.

The taste of dragon pervaded Koven's mouth, and it washed out everything else. He slid his muzzle halfway down along the full length of the Bloodscale's shaft, and pushed even down into his throat as he swallowed easily around that still-spurting tip. His fingers never let up, and they both wrapped tightly around the base of Calix' shaft as his tongue teased slowly back and forth along that malehood's underside.

A couple quick gulps from Koven was enough to entice the dragon to pulse another quick shot of his slick pre right down the rat's throat. He moaned as he felt Koven swallow that down too, and his body trembled against his restraints as pleasure rocked his body. It was only amplified as he felt the rat's lips start to draw back from his malehood, exposing a couple inches again to the cool, damp air. These were quickly warmed again by diligent strokes and rubs from Koven's paws, and he closed his eyes as he felt the rat begin to slowly work his muzzle and tongue back and forth along the first half of his shaft.

The rat closed his eyes as he set himself fully to work. He twisted his head left and right, corkscrewing his way up and down along the Bloodscale's shaft as the moans above drove him onwards. Fingers squeezed and tugged at the remainder of Calix' exposed malehood, teasing him onward even as the rat silently swallowed down every hot, rapidly-thickening spurt of the dragon's pre. He felt the shaft between his lips pulse, each throb marking a beat of Calix' rapidly beating heart and the growing closeness of his climax.

The pleasure he offered wasn't to last, though. Koven only made a few more sharp bobs of his head and sent intense pleasure racing through the dragon's body, before he drew back to Calix' tip and pulled off with a wet pop. The dragon grunted through a moan as he opened his eyes and glanced down at the rat again. "Why do you stop?" he breathlessly asked. "I was... I could have..."

Koven just shrugged a little and smiled as he licked idly at that still-leaking tip. "'Cause you would have. You're gettin' a bit close there, and you didn't really answer my question." He lifted his eyebrows as the dragon opened his muzzle to reply, only to watch Calix close his mouth again. "C'mon, big guy. Why'd you wanna come all the way up here just to scout our military, huh? Nah, be honest with me, now." His fingers continued to pump up and down along the Bloodscale's length, enough to keep him worked up and on the edge.

The dragon just shook his head quickly, even as he bucked against his bonds again in an attempt to thrust harder into Koven's paws. The little rat's muzzle was just out of reach, so close to his tip. Just an inch or two more and he'd be back inside that heat... "I cannot... please..."

Each twitch of the Bloodscale's length enticed Koven to further loosen his grip on his cellmate, and his grin threatened to split his face as he winked cheekily up at Calix. "C'mon, now... you wanna get the relief you've been waiting for, don't you?" His hot breath washed over the dragon's malehood, and each slowly-spoken word sent a fresh twitch of that firm flesh as he held it right at the edge. "I can tip you over, or leave you here... why'd you come, mmm?"

The tingle of need that shot through the dragon's body with each throb of his malehood was too much for him to bear. Need was the perfect word for what he felt, so well had the rat's skilful paws and hot muzzle worked him up. "Caverns... in the mountains," he finally replied as he panted heavily. "Thought they... led into your city. They do. Was scouting for an... an attack through them. There. Please. Please..."

Those words were all Koven had to hear. "Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?" he replied huskily, as he stood up. The rat stepped back from Calix as the dragon cocked his head, and began to brush the grime of the dungeon from his arms and legs. "Ugh. I swear, this is an interesting job sometimes."

Confused, Calix could only cock his head and look on impotently as Koven turned away from him and started to walk towards the door. "Wait! I told you the truth! You promised..." He tugged harder still at his restraints as his shaft flexed in the air, and it spurted a quick shot of his pre almost halfway across the cell. "You promised!"

The rat knocked hard at the door, and after only two raps it swung open. Fresh light flooded into the dungeon cell and momentarily blinded both Koven and Calix, and after the dragon had a second to adjust he caught sight of a pair of heavily armoured guards wearing the insignia of the Sulorvis army. "What is this?" he snarled. "Koven! Get back here! You promised!"

"Send message to the Peladirrin Guard," the rat said, his voice suddenly firm and authoritative. "Track anyone who might know anything about the Underground. Seems some of their caverns lead right down to the Scaleridge Mountains." He turned away from the guard as he was saluted, and fixed his eyes on an enraged Calix. "After all, we don't want more Bloodscales pouring into the city, do we?"

"You tricked me," snarled the dragon, as he all but threw himself against his chains again. His shaft still hadn't flagged, fuelled then not by arousal, but by sheer rage.

The rat just shrugged as he leaned against the doorframe with folded arms. "I'm not the one who was preparing an invasion force," he replied with a wink. "Don't feel bad, though. You lasted longer than a lot of the prisoners they have me 'talk' to. Tasted better, too." That grin, the exact same one that flashed so often inside the cell, flew to the rat's features again as he licked his lips. "Enjoy your solitude."

The dragon's roar of raw anger and sexual frustration lasted only moments, before the door slid shut behind Koven. His cries were cut off, and the Bloodscale was left alone once more.

Chains lyrics

Your arms are warm but they make me feel,

As if they're made of cold, cold steel.

A simple kiss like a turnin' key,

A little click, and the lock's on me.

Can't move my arms, can't lift my hands,

I won't admit to where I am,

But I know baby,

I'm in chains,

I'm in chains.

I pretend I can always leave,

Free to go, whenever I please.

But then the sound of my desperate calls,

Echo off these dungeon walls.

I've crossed the line from mad to sane,

A thousand times and back again.

I love you, baby,

I'm in chains,

I'm in chains,

I'm in chains,

I'm in chains.

Should have known passing through the gate,

That once inside I could not escape.

I never thought this could happen to me,

Never thought this is where I'd be.

But baby, baby,

Baby, look at me,

I said baby, baby, look at me,

I'm in chains,

I'm in chains.

I never thought this is where I'd be,

Never thought this could happen to me.
