"How much longer are we going to be here?" grumbles Marruns as he glances over his shoulder over at Kirisha who after some time looking through her binoculars glares back at him.

"This is a golden opportunity to learn more, I am not going to run off just because you are getting scared.

"I'm not getting scared. I find it tactically unwise to remain here for an extended period of time," he replies.

"Marruns is right. If we remain stationary for too long we are bound to be spotted by one of their scout drones. As long as we keep moving, even if they catch a glimpse of us we can lose them before they strike," Latius cations.

"I'd prefer if they never saw us in the first place. I'd like to destroy these things from the galaxy as much as the next person but..."

"Destroy, destroy, destroy, is all that you think about? Can't spend a moment to wonder why they are doing this?" Kirisha asks.

"Why? I don't need a why. They are mindless killing machines."

Kirisha gives out a long drawn out sigh, "And this is why I do what I do. They aren't mindless killing machines. Yes, they've done bad things but the question yet again is why? They were designed by the quarians as servants, that is what geth means in their tongue, 'servant of the people'," Kirisha explains.

"Bad things? They've attacked the citadel, impaled people on dragon's teeth sucking up their bodies into dried husks which then charge and explode against their former loved ones. That is far surpassed what one would classify as a 'bad thing'," grumbles Marruns.

"But not all geth are same just like how not every turian is not the same. I heard it was a turian that led the attack on the citadel, does that make all turians bad now?"

"Where did you hear that?" asks Latius as he tenses and slowly turns his head to focus on the raptor.

"I have connections. Just because I am not one of you fancy main citadel races doesn't mean I'm helpless," she replies as the two turians give Kirisha a long silent glare, "Look the point I am trying to make is so far there have been several distinct geth behavior. Vast majority of the geth are behind the Perseus Veil and for the longest time that is where they remained up until recent years. There must be a reason why. Could it be them scouting? Divergence in geth organization? A civil war and these are the ones expelled from their home? These are important questions that need to be answered."

"Important to you maybe and a few paranoid members back home wanting to know all they can about these walking flashlight heads," Marruns replies.

Meanwhile as they conversed their conversation was being recorded.

"Two turians and one raptor confirmed. The raptor appears to be the leader or someone of importance as the two turians guard her. Sending data, waiting for consensus on what to do next," states a cloaked geth hunter who remains unmoving as it waits for further instructions.

The information is sent back to a geth hub where millions of geth programs reside and debate on what to do with the given information. A debate that would take hours, days or even weeks to accomplish is done within minutes as a consensus amongst them is reached. The orders are sent back to hunter and the other geth in the area.

"Attempt to obtain organic subjects for processing, priority subject: Raptor. Prioritize self-preservation over capture."

"Acknowledged," the nearby geth programs in their mobile platforms replied in perfect unison.

"Look if you want this to end sooner, stop with your random comments and let me do my wo--," Kirisha replies as she is then suddenly interrupted by Latius.

"Shh."

"Did you just shush me?"

"Shh, I think I hear something," he replies as he and the other turian tense up and survey the area, "We should relocate now."

"Just give me a few more minutes," Kirisha replies.

"We do not have a few more mi--," Latius replies when a pulse of blue energy slams into his body pricing his body armor and chest as blood splatters forth from the wound. He falls back against the rock face his eyes focused in the direction of the attack. He sees the glowing flashlight head of the geth as he manages to fire a shot which is absorbed by it's personal shield

"Fuck, they know we're hear now, personal shields up," Marruns commands as the next shot aimed at him is absorbed before he lets out a quick burst of fire, the shots hit the geth's shield, one by one its absorbed but is eventually overwhelmed as it hits the geth straight in the glowing light in its head, destroying it and causing the silver white synthetic to collapse to the ground.

"I don't have one!" Kirisha yells.

"You what?!"

"I forgot to bring one okay?" Kirisha says as she sticks low to the ground as more pulse rifle fire comes in.

"Do you at least have a pistol?" Marruns grunts as he fires off a few rounds.

"Yes of course I do," she replies as she pulls out a standard issue pistol.

"You know how to use it?"

Kirisha responds with a glare before more shots go over her head causing her to let out a scream. Her heart races as she frantically holds the gun with both hands, her finger on the trigger as she tries to fire as nothing happens.

"The safety!" she thinks as she fumbles with the switch and turns to aim blindly behind her as the gun kicks back is small but is enough to cause her to trip back and fall onto her back with a hard thud. The gun flies out from her hands and slides down the steep decline of the hill. Her ears though detect an audible metal hitting upon metal as she turns her attention towards the direction of the facility. Rising into her field of view is a red metal geth with glowing blue eyes.

Kirisha tenses as she crawls away from it as she yells, "Marruns!" Kirisha looks in his direction as blood trickles down his chest and legs, his body held up who has him impaled. The raptor tries to crawl away only to feel legged grabbed with a quick glance she sees the red geth dragging her away. Kirisha lets out a scream of help her claws digging into the ground, as she is slowly pulled away and as the geth leave having acquired one of the subjects, they fail to notice buried into the dirt caused by Kirisha's claw dragging is a small distress beacon which now faintly glows as it sends is signal back to home base.
