Meeting the Hero

Attending one of Chase Hunter's lectures, Cody gets to talk with his idol.

"As Vedic traditions put it, we must break free of recursion."

The final verse of the lecture was met by a wave of applause, and Chase sat down to drink from a water bottle. Amidst the crowd, a slightly younger otter with blue eyes approached him.

"Dat lecture was inspirational" he said, with a Yat accent.

"Thank you" Chase said, "I personally think I could have been more creative with some of the wording."

"Figures, I'm a perfectionist ta. But I've learned ta be more forgiving with myself when making movies."

"Oh, so you're a cineast."

"Yeah, and your expose on Echo was absolutely amazing."

The otter extended his paw.

"Cody."

"Nice to meet you, Cody."

They shook paws, the younger otter quite energetic.

"Though, as you know I do mostly do historical research nowadays."

"Yeah, I know, and I'm not here ta say keep making movies. Lord knows I'd had to put up with people trying to crush my dreams."

"Yeah. My father didn't want me to pursue my historical degree, but he came around to it."

"Lucky ya. Mine disowned me outright."

"I'm so sorry."

Cody waved off playfully.

"Nah, it's cool."

Chase's phone rang, much to Cody's dismay.

"Aw, sorry if I'm taking ya time."

"It's okay. Wanna give me your number?"

Cody squealed excitedly, and both exchanged their numbers. Cody left first as he too received a call, and Chase stared at him as he left.

"Yup, he's like me alright."
