The Darkness Within. > 3

The forests behind the Forest Inn were dark. Even though it was coming close to evening the sun was still high, but not even the strong sunlight could penetrate the perpetual darkness of the forest trees. There was a rustling in the shrubbery upon the small dirt path that threaded it's way from the back of the Forest Inn. The sounds of desperate and laboured breathing could be heard. A small shaft of sunlight passed through the many leaves of the forest, to briefly illuminate the dirt just in front of the rustling bushes. The bushes parted, and out jumped an amazing sight. A Fiery Red/Orange Pokemon with a slightly pink ruffled collar stood within the shaft of sunlight for the short breath of time that it lasted, before dashing off along the path, heading further up the dirt trail. Only minutes after the Mysterious Pokemon had passed, there was another disturbance within the bushes. The rustling was a lot more vicious, and the sound of cursing could be heard. A minute more of struggling, and a strong, slightly disheveled human jumped out of the bushes. The male cursed his luck at losing his Pokemon yet again, and looked down at the dirt. He grinned maliciously when he saw the tracks his Pokemon had made in the dirt. He turned to the right, and sprinted off after it.

Night and Sapphire had only been travelling down the road that the old gate guard had mentioned a short while, when they came upon a curious little shrine along the path. Night and Sapphire both stopped to propperly see it. Night walked up to the little box like thing, and read out loud the inscription upon it.

"For those of you seeking fortune or luck, place an item of worth within the shrine, and know that you will receive your honest reward."

Night raised a skeptical eyebrow. "Huh ..." He turned to Sapphire. "You think it's worth it?"

Sapphire shrugged. He was alittle confused as to why Night hadn't put the translator back in his ear yet, he wanted to talk to him about ...... this morning.

Night thought about the things of 'worth' that he had upon him. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out the translator that Sceron had given him. He tossed it up and down within his hand a few times, then placed it within the shrine. It's not like I need it, he thought to himself. I Didn't even really use it. He stepped back sharply when the shrine lit up suddenly.

"Thank you for your contribution." The shrine stopped glowing.

"Well, I think that's it. I hope it actually does work, but if it doesn't." Night shrugged, not too concerned about it. He turned back to the path, but stopped when he felt something warm go down his leg. He looked down, and seeing nothing, he shook his leg, and out popped the Fire Pendant that he had made yesterday. Night sighed, leaned down and picked it up. He held it within his palm, and let the heat of it warm his hand.

What am I going to do with you? It's not like I can just throw you away. Gods know what would happen if I did that. Night had a sudden vision of a Fire type pokemon coming along, and picking it up, and eventually burning down the surrounding forests.

Night blinked, and shook his head to clear that little evil from his mind. Night sighed, and searched his new pockets. Yep, there it was, yet another hole burned into another pair of pants. He thought about what to do with this thing. It obviously couldn't come into contact with other materials, or it would simply burn them. Night winced and hung his head, closing his eyes in the process. Of course. Night pictured within his mind a necklace that was thin, and wire like. He pictured it wrapping the flames in a loop of its self. He opened his eyes when he felt the minor drain, and also felt something long within his palm. He grinned slightly at what he held. The fire pendant was now held by a braided see through wire. He lifted it up, and placed it around his neck, where it gave him a nice warm feeling just above his collar bone. He turned around to Sapphire.

"What do you think?" He leaned down a little lower to show it off.

Sapphire, shocked at having seen him throw away the translator that he got yesterday, didn't notice Night leaning down untill he saw the pendant swing infront of his face. His eyes widened in Shock and Horror as he backed away quickly, offerring a startled Chaar as well. He backpeddaled, then tripped over his own feet, falling down with a light thump.

Night blinked, then crouched over Sapphire, helping him stand back up. "You Okay there Sapphire?" He asked in concern. Sapphire couldn't move, he was transfixed by the sight of the pendant that Night was now wearing.

"Hey Sapphire." Night clicked his fingers together. Sapphire blinked at the sound they made, and looked up into Nights worried eyes.

"You okay Sapphire? Is it the Pendant?" Sapphire nodded. Night sighed, and popped the pendent into the collar of his shirt.

"It's not gonna hurt you Sapphire, but if you can pull all of that energy out of it simply by holding it, maybe we should try to use it? It might actually help you." Night blinked, and flushed. "I just made a little speech, didn't I?"

Sapphire looked away from Night's cute face. He nodded slowly. He knew he couldn't be mad at Night. He was only a human.

Night felt the strangest urge when Sapphire turned away. It was like wanting to be hugged, but the feeling was different. Night shook his head, then picked himself up, his ears flushed, and his eyes glinting a very deep ruby red.

"C'mon Sapphire." He stretched his Wings out. "If we don't hurry up a little, we wont reach the Forest Inn by night fall." Night shrugged his shoulders into his almost over flowing Back pack that he had purchased from the store. He felt bad for getting rid of Sceron's bag, but this was a lot bigger. It had all sorts of compartments in it. With the amount of stuff that was in it, He was surprised that it didn't weigh a lot more. He went into a strong walk, Sapphire catching up a little later.

It was approaching dusk. The skies had taken on a beautifull Deep red purple colour, and Night went to point it out to Sapphire, and realised that he was no longer there. He quickly looked around, and found him near the forset on the left hand side of the path. Night walked back to him, glancing to his right every now and again as Sapphire hadn't stopped staring.

He stopped beside him. "Hey, Sapphire. Is anything wrong?"

Sapphire looked up at him, then looked back into the forest. Since Night had thrown away the translator, he couldn't tell him that there was something wrong coming from within the forest. It wasn't a sound, more a feeling. Like when those Charmander's were ganging up on him. Other pokemon knew the feeling. Sapphire pulled himself from his memmories, and went back to staring at the forest. He looked up to Night, then slowly made his way into the forset.

"Hey Sapphire!"

Night was shocked. Why would he do this? Night glanced down the road, not knowing that he was just a few minutes from the Inn, he returned his attention to Sapphire's retreating tail, and made his way in after him. Night parted his way through the foilage, and dicovered something rather interresting. Inside of the forest, it was already as dark as night. Slightly wary, Night followed the only light source he could see. He followed Sapphire deeper and deeper into the forest, becoming just a little worried about finding their way out again, but so long as Sapphire was leading the way, he knew they'd come out again. He smiled, and followed Sapphire's flickering blue tail flame. Night thought that it was kind of ......... nice to be surrounded by darkness, and to have a blue light to show the way. He'd always liked blues. Probably something to do with his parents .. Night pushed those images away, clenching a fist. Night stopped just before bumping into Sapphire. He flexed his hand, and leaned down to Sapphire.

"Sapphire, why are we here? Why did you want to come here?" He rubbed his hand up from the middle of Sapphire's back, to his head. Sapphire didn't even blink at the attention, instead, he pointed forwards, and just a little to the right. Night stopped his rubbing, and looked to where he was pointing. Seeing a flickering light, Night moved forwards into the dense forest, poking his face into the gap Sapphire had pointed to. He looked into a rather large clearing, his mind not really making sense of what it was seeing, so it went over the mundane things first. There was a nice little campfire, a large tent was near it. To the right of the tent's entrance was a large bag, and several Pokeballs poking out of it. As Night was mulling over who would leave their pokeballs just lying around, he heard some strange sounds. Night finally saw what was to the left, and slightly behind the campfire. It was apokemon, or at least he thought it was. It was tied down, and making squealing noises. The longer he listened, the more he ....... hurt inside. He looked over it's form, noting the the shifting red colour. it had some kind of ruff around it's neck that looked kind of pinkish. It had purple, almost black ridges going from it's head, to the tip of its fluked tail. Its head had three fin like protrusions coming from it. Night watched it close its large black eyes. Night frowned. There was deffinately something wrong. He sharpened his sight, and saw tear tracks in the Pokemon's skin. He watched as more tears rose and fell. He looked through the flames, and saw something that had escaped his notice before. There was a guy standing behind the pokemon. Night turned his head to the side when he saw that he was naked. This was a mistake. After turning his head, his sensitive ears picked up the sounds of both the man, and the Pokemon.

"Yeah, C'mon Vaporeon, you know you love it when I take you." He grunted more, and a sick ..... schluuuping sound punctuated his words. "You know if you had of just stayed put and took it like a bitch, I wouldn't have had to tie you down. The others have learned that already, why can't you?"

"VaporeeeEEIIIIIIIII" The Vaporeon screached as he shoved Himself in harder.

Night turned away from the clearing, he didn't want any part of this. He was walking in the direction that he and Sapphire had entered the forest, when Sapphire stepped infront of him and growled. Night froze wondering what was wrong. Sapphire stalked forwards, and pushed Night back towards the clearing. Night backed up, not knowing what Sapphire was pushing him into, untill he stumbled backwards into the clearing. The human stopped what he was doing to his Vaporeon, and looked at the other that had entered his area.

"What are you doing here?" He pulled himself out of the Vaporeon. The red Vaporeon made a happy sigh as he exited. It them yelped as it was hit.

The human looked at his Vaporeon in disgust. "I'll get back to you soon." He turned to face Night, an uneasy look upon his face. "Again I ask, what are you doing here? Were you enkoying the show or something?" He walked forwards, and poked Night in the chest rudely. "Hey, answer me buddy!" He glared at Night.

Night was somewhat disconcerted by the fact that there was another guy standing in front of him, BUTT NAKED! He was trying desperately not to look at him. His cheeks were growing hot with the amount of blood being pumped into them. His eyes had changed to a bright red, and Night knew that if he looked the other guy in the eyes, it'd go bad. So, Night kept looking at the tied down pokemon. He felt himself be poked hard and, with a mental sigh, he turned and faced the naked male. He watched him back up when he looked him in the eyes.

"Dude, What the fuck are you?" He finally noticed Night's black wings that were hidden in the darkness. His eyes bulged, and he backed up more, he finally ran for the bag by his tent when Night stepped forwards. He opened up the bag, and grabbed a pokeball from within it. He tossed it next to the other two that were already out and pulled out another one. This he kept in his hand, and turned to Night.

"I don't know what you are dude, but I bet you wont be able to stand up to my Mightyena." He enlarged the pokeball, and chucked it onto the ground between them. The pokeball burst open, white light filling the clearing in a flash. As it faded, it revealed a very large, and slightly scruffy looking Mightyena. When the Mightyena saw what its opponent was, it gave a wolfish grin.

"Mightyena." The Mightyena turned to its trainer. He saw that his trainer was naked. He sniffed, and followed his scent back to the Vaporeon he was braking in. He looked a question to his trainer.

"Yes Mightyena, when you get through with that thing, you can do her. I know she'll be tight enough for you." He grinned widely. "Now Mightyena, use Shadowball."

The Mightyena turned, opened its jaws wide, gathering its dark energy, and launching it at Night with a bark.

Night was completely stunned by these events. He'd expected something like this from Troy, not some guy he just met. He looked up when the Mightyena barked, catching the full blast in the middle of his chest. Night flew backwards into the trees, crashing into Sapphire who had been watching him, and clipping his wing tips upon several close trees. They skidded a few feet along the forest floor, covering themselves in dirt and leaves. The right shoulder strap of Night's Back pack snapped, and it flew around to his left.

"Nice work Mightyena, go finish him off, then, you can have fun with the Vaporeon." The mightyena barked, and trotted off to the stunned Night and Sapphire.

Sapphire

Sapphire was under Night, and he was having a bit of trouble breathing with Night on top of him, but he managed to wiggle out from under him. He turned around when Night moaned. He leaned over Night worriedly. He'd taken a direct hit from a Shadowball. Sapphire kissed him gently, and smoothed back his hair.

"Get away from the human little one, or I'll kill you as well." Sapphire turned around to see the Mightyena standing over him. Sapphire backed up untill he could see the Mightyena propperly.

"I wont let you kill my human. He's mine." Sapphire growled, and whipped his tail around, lashing the chest of the Mightyena, and giving him a small burn.

The Mightyena winced at the burn, then chuckled. "So what? You love a human? A Male human. I hate queer Pokemon, they give the rest of us a bad Rep." The Mightyena growled, and leaped forwards, clamping his jaws down hard on Sapphire's right shaoulder, causing him to screech in pain.

"Hey Mightyena, what was that?"

The Mightyena dragged Sapphire out and into the clearing, tossing him before his trainer's feet.

"So, that guy had a pokemon with him. You can kill it too, but only after you finish him off. Now go and do it. Remember, the sooner you finish, the sooner you get her." The human nodded in the Vaporeon's direction.

Sapphire saw where he nodded to, and immediately felt pity for her. Her scent caught in his nostrils, and he learned something that shocked him. She wasn't too far from enterring her heat. She was about two or three weeks away from it.

"You got it Merron." The Mightyena dashed off to Night to have just a little fun before he took his new bitch.

Sapphire made to go after him, but was stopped my Merron. "Where do you think you're going? I've never had a Charmander before." The human called Merron wiped his slickened erection against the back of Sapphire's head.

Sapphire tried not to, but he couldn't help it. He got aroused by the attention that Merron had given him, only wishing that Night would have done it instead of him.

Merron grabbed Sapphire by his tail, then yelped when he got burned by the flame. "That's why I've never done a Charmander before. Oh well." He kicked Sapphire over to the tied down Vaporeon. Sapphire looked up at the Vaporeon, and was about to ask her who she was when he heard the Mightyena growl, and Night scream.

"NIGHT ! ! !" Sapphire screamed, running towards him with huge eyes. Please no ..

Night

Night opened his eyes slowly. The first thiing he felt was a massive amount of pain in his chest. He grunted, and slowly rolled over, carefull of his wings.

"Damn that hurt. Why in the hells did he do that?" He coughed, and hunched over, holding his chest. Night froze as he heard a low growl behind him. The Mightyena had returned.

"Mighty ena ena ena Mightyena Migh." He barked out at Night. The Mightyena then Jumped up onto his back, and Bit into his wings, causing Night to scream in agony.

Night was thrust forwards, and landed heavily upon his chest, causing him to see stars through the bright red pain coming from his wings. Night closed his eyes, his body, and his mind to the Mightyena gnawing upon his wings. He focused as much as he could upon an invisible sword within his hand. He felt the enormous loss of energy, and a very heavy weight in his hand. He immediately thrust it backwards at the Pokemon gnawing upon his shoulder blade. He heard a yelp, and felt it's weight move off of him. He turned around, and unsteadily rose to his feet. Facing the Mightyena, he brought his invisible sword up, ready to swing at the pokemon if it came anywhere near him again.

The Mightyena stared at what he had thought was simply another helpless human for a few moments, before pitching forwards, dead. Night had accidentally nicked its heart when he had stabbed it.

As Night watched the Mightyena fall, he saw Sapphire standing just behind it, covered in sweat, his eyes like miniature saucers.

Sapphire uttered a soft chaar, then ran to Night and Hugged him tightly. This caused Night a bit of grief, as Sapphire was hugging his damaged wings as well, but he let him hugg him. Afterall, he'd just about been killed by a Mightyena. Night blinked, and could have sworn that he heard the sound of a waterfall before he was suddenly overcome with rage. Night looked down at Sapphire with his black eyes, and slowly pushed him away. He then created a barrier around the clearing, extending it a little to cover both him and Sapphire.

"Sapphire, I'm about to do something that is not nice. You can either come and help, watch, or stay out of it. I would like you to choose now, because I don't think I can hold back too much longer." He flexed the hand that held his invisible sword.

Sapphire looked up at him worriedly, then placed a paw into one of his pockets, and held on, looking up to Night to show that he'd come with him.

Night closed his eyes sadly. "So be it." He slowly walked back into the clearing that the human and his pokemon were in.

When Merron saw Night walking out of the bushes, and saw his completely black eyes, he ran for it. Not knowing anything about what Night could do, he ran head long into the barrier, and bounced back sprawling in the grass and dirt of the clearing.

Night watched these antics, and gave a dark chuckle. He then walked over to the tied down Vaporeon. When she saw him coming towards her, she immediately tried to back away from him. He smelled of death and destruction to her, and she wanted nothing to do with him, or any human for that matter.

Night reached out his left hand, and placed his palm flat against her fore head. He carefully searched her memmories, selecting only those that contained Humans, or anything related to them. He saw how she had been captured as an Eevee by men in black suits. He watched as they performed cruel experiments upon her, and several other pokemon they had caught. He watched impassionately as they forced her to mate with an Arcanine that was several times her size. He skipped through many of her heats, before a memmory caught his mind's eye. It was shortly after she had been forced to mate with a Flaffy that she found a stone, accidentally misplaced by a scientist. She used the water stone to evolve herself into a Vaporeon. She then used her new powers and abilities to try for her nineteenth escape attempt. She had almost gotten to the door of the facility when she had been shot, and drugged. The memmory fuzzed and darkened. The next memmory showed her meeting Merron for the first time. He felt her joy as she thought that this person would be the one to save her from this living hell. She had been ecstatic when he had taken her out of the facility that she had lived in for six years. When they stopped for a rest, and he asked her to stand in place for a moment, she did so. When she felt his hand slowly moving towards her entrance, she found out that he was just like the others. She ran away from him. Moving as deep into the forest as she could go, she finally found this little clearing. Exhausted, she fell asleep. She woke up with her paws tied down, and the smell of cooking meat in the air. Shortly after Merron saw her wake he mounted her, and forced her to endure again what had been done to her ever since the humans caught her. Night took these memmories within himself, and let his rage feed upon them. He took his hand from her and walked over to the human known as Merron.

Reaching the disgusting excuse for a human, Night raised his foot, and placed his weight upon Merron's chest. Merron didn't move.

Night got off him, and leaned down. He placed his left palm upon Merron's fore head, even though the contact sickened him. He then cautiously probed his mind, searching for the reason why he had done this horrible thing. What Night found horified him, and scarred his soul.

Merron was from a group of people called Team Rocket. This team was one of four. All four were constantly warring between one another, Vying for complete supremacy of the entire planet. Merron had been trained by his team for almost anything, but he had a special knack for braking spirits. Night sifted through his memmories, touching one here and there. He saw his troubled past, how his father had raped him on a constant basis, slowly feeding Merron's rage untill it finally peaked, and he killed his father. He watched him drift between cities, constantly running from any and all pokemon. He saw the Rocket member that took him in, and who Merron eventually called father. He watched him grow up under the tutelage of his new father. Night finally saw the events that completely set Merron's life in stone. Merron had discovered that his beloved father was in fact a double agent. He was actually from Team Magma, one of the really higher ups as his luck would have it. When his father learned what he knew, he made the descision, and attacked Merron first. Had it not been the fact that Merron had received his Mightyena two days ago, he wouldn't be here. Night made a note about how this Mightyena was very similar to the one that he had just killed, if a little younger and less scarred. Night watched the human die a slow death by being suffocated. The Mightyena's jaws firmly clamped around his neck and wind pipe. He skipped the rest of his memmories, searching for what was in his pokeballs. He saw him receive a Chikorita and a Poochyena, both female. He watched them evolve together, and saw him take both at the same time, his Mightyena standing guard. When he was finished with both of them he let his Mightyena take them both as he watched, masturbating.

Night couldn't take it any more, and he tore his mind away from Merron's. He toppled backwards, having a brief thought that this was going to hurt, a lot. He screamed as his wounds met with the dirt and dust of the forest clearing, pain searing through his body as he flapped instinctively.

Sapphire screeched, and held Night carefully, finally getting a good look at the damage the Mightyena had done to him. Sapphire cried as he saw the tissues and bones of his back. What little skin there was covering them was shredded and chewed. He cried as he watched Night struggle through his pain, and get up slowly. Sapphire screeched in shock as he saw and heard a tendon in Night's back snap, spraying him with Night's blood, and forcing Night to tense up.

Night almost completely blacked out from this new burst of pain, but he held on grimly. There was still work to be done. He dug the wavering sword into the ground in order to help him stand. Once he was on his unsteady legs, he raised the sword just high enough, and moved it to Merron's chest, just above his heart. He then shoved down hard, piercing Merron's heart, and ending this strain of evil.

Sapphire watched this, and felt nothing for the human. He had tried to kill Night after all. Sapphire shiverred knowing that he might still lose Night if he didn't receive medical attention soon.

Night released the sword, then tapped it's almost insubstantial hilt, shattering it and reabsorbing a very small amount of energy back from it. Night turned to the Vaporeon that was struggling wildly now to get free from its bonds, and carefully walked over to it. Reaching her, he leant down and whispered. "I'm not going to hurt you miss. I'm just going to untie you, but please don't try to run just yet, the barrier is still up. You saw what happened to Merron." During this, Night had been carefully untying her from the board that she was standing on, unknowingly showing her his horribly torn back as he bent down to untie each foot. Night gently wiped each foot clean of blood spitting carefully, he smeared his saliva upon the many rope burns and cuts, cleaning her wounds and sealing them at the same time.

After she was free, and her tail released from the funny looking harness it had been put in, Night let her go, and went over to Merron's bag, where he picked up the two pokeballs and released the two abused females. He watched in complete dispair as they came out of their pokeballs, saw him, turned their backs, and presented themselves to him. Night cried openly and sat down hard. The females, wondering why they weren't being taken yet, moved towards him and almost shoved their openings into his face. Night, in between his sobs, asked them to turn around please. They did so, opening their mouths, and heading for his crotch. They became confused when they saw he was wearing clothes. Merron had never worn clothes when they came out of their pokeballs. They looked up into his face, averting their eyes lest they make him angry.

Night closed his eyes. Reaching out mentally, he touched the barrier around the clearing. He absorbed as much energy as he could from it before opening his eyes again, and looking in confusion at the four faces in his vision. One was a very Sad and concerened Sapphire. Another was a sad, but curious Vaporeon's. The other two belonged to the Bayleef and Mightyena.

"I am so sorry that this evil was done to you girls. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be alive much longer, but I want you all to know that you're free." Night took in a sharp breath as a stabbing pain Lashed through his body. He looked to Sapphire, and grinned sadly. "I'm sorry Sapphire, but I don't think we'll be traveling companions for too much longer." Night blinked back several tears that threatened to over flow. "I've lost too much blood, and I can feel the coldness slipping in. Even if I were to get to a pokemon centre or a hospital in three minutes, it wouldn't be fast enough. I want you to promise me something though."

Sapphire nodded sadly. He knew that this was going to happen whether he liked it or not.

Night smiled a little. "I want you to do everything that you can in order to protect these females, 'k? I want them each to live a happy life. They deserve one after all of this." Night blinked, and his expression changed to one of shock. Night was suddenly hit by a very powerfull Ice Beam from the Vaporeon. He became frozen almost instantly, his facial features changed to a pained grimace as he was frozen inside of a huge Block of ice.

Sapphire

Sapphire turned to the Vaporeon, Murder in his eyes. She had taken Night from him before he was finished. He screamed at her, and she patiently waited throught it. When he finally stopped she asked him if he felt better now.

Sapphire looked down and away, looking at Night. "Yes .."

The Vaporeon nodded. "Good. For your information, I didn't kill your Human. I simply froze him. If you listen hard and long enough you'll hear his heartbeat. It's very weak but it's still there."

Sapphire did as she suggested and found that Night did indeed still live. He then saw something that scared him. The fire pendant had come out from his shirt when he was Frozen, and already there was a bubble of heated water around it. Sapphire turned, and quickly pointed it out.

The Vaporeon frowned, and blasted Night again. All four watched in fascination as the pendant around Night's neck glowed red, and slowly started to melt the ice around it again.

The Vaporeon swore. "I can't keep this up for too long." She turned to Sapphire, carefull to keep an eye on the winged Human. "Go to Goldburn city, it's the closest place with any type of medical staff. Find the Nurse Joy stationed there, and persuade her anyway you can to get down here with a full emergency crew." She paused, and blasted Night again. "Get on Dercanna's back, she'll take you there quickly. I'll keep Fahrnass for protection from wild pokemon. Go, the sooner you leave, the sooner he gets help." She turned back to Night, and made a weak ice beam, but kept it going.

The Mightyena stepped forwards and lay down for him. Sapphire quickly got on, and they dashed off towards where Night and he enterred the Forest.

Pokemon Centre, Goldburn

Nurse Denise was just finishing her shift for the day, and Nurse Betty was enterring the doors to start hers. They smiled to each other, and chatted about the newest things. Talk eventually turned back to the trainer that had been here yesterday.

"Did you see his wings Betty? Weren't they just Beautiful?" Denise sighed, lost in her memmories of how his wings shimmered in the sunlight.

Betty nodded, lost in her own memmories. She recalled how his wings seemed to absorb the light that was shone onto them. Even the overhead fluros didn't cause them to sparkle.

Nurse Betty sighed. "I wish we could have gotten his phone number at least. I would've liked to have known what it felt like to be held by him and his wings." Betty sighed dreamily.

"Yeah, I wonder what the chances are of meeting him again?" Denise giggled happily and headed for the door. She was hoping to get home before it was declared curfew. She checked her watch, then started to jog. She had just opened the doors when she was slammed backwards by a green and black blur.

"What the sam hell?" She yelled as she went flying backwards.

Sapphire and Dercanna skidded into the front desk. Sapphire made sure Dercanna was allright before he ran into the backrooms looking for Nurse Joy.

"Hey Denise ...." Betty followed the Green Charmander with her eyes.

"Yeah Betty?"

"Wasn't that the trainers Charmander that just ran by?"

Denise thought about it, then nodded slowly. "Yeah, I think it was Betty. I wonder what it's doing here without him?"

Betty got chills down her spine. "What if something bad happened to him, and these two are the only ones that know?"

They both looked to each other, and scrambled to the desk, smashing the emergency button several times over.

A few rooms away, a sleepy Nurse Joy was awoken by the very insistent buzzing of the emergency alarm. She tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't due to the insistent buzzing. She finally got miffed enough to chuck her pillow at the speaker directly above her head. She snorted when the pillow came back down and fluffed into her face. She giggled, then got up out of her bed, her usual demeanour kicking back in.

"I wonder what the big emergency is? Maybe we got a rare and exotic pokemon this time?" Nurse Joy looked to her left, and picked up the translator that she kept there. She pocketed it, got out of bed, and stretched Languorously. She pivoted, and spun towards the door of her room, bumping into an almost hysterical Charmander as she opened her door. Nurse Joy blinked, quickly recognising who's pokemon it was, she quickly placed the translator into her ear. She leaned down to Sapphire, and noted how the slashes on his muzzle were healing very well.

"Please Please Please Please Please Please Please Nurse Joy, you have to help me, we ran into a bad person on our way to the Forest Inn. Night got attacked by a Mightyena and is almost dead. The Vaporeon that's keeping him alive said that we had to get you and an ermergency crew to him as soon as we possibly could. She said that she couldn't keep it up for long." He stared up at her with his tear stained face. "Please Nurse Joy, I can't lose him so soon. Please." He looked down at the floor, his little shoulders and back shuddering with his supressed sobs.

Nurse Joy blinked slowly. What did he just say? She frowned in thought, and grabbed her phone from the desk to her right. She opened it up, and called The medivac crew.

"Hi Lawrence, it's Nurse Joy, I have a critically injured young man," she trailed off, and looked at Sapphire.

"He's about thirty minutes past the shrine, in the middle of a small clearing around ten or fifteen minutes from the main path." He looked up at her, desperately hopefull.

" .... about ten minutes from The Forest Inn. He might be in the travellers glen. I'm headed down there right now with his pokemon. I need a critical life support crew and a very large chopper. Can you handle that Lawrence?" She nodded her head slowly into the phone, smiling now. "Thankyou Lawrence, you've done me an absolutely wonderful favour, but could you do me just one more thing? Don't let any one touch him or the pokemon keeping him alive untill I get there." She smiled. "Thankyou Lawrence." Nurse Joy cancelled the call, placing the phone within her nurse's outfit, and started jogging to the Car park.

"Keep up Sapphire, were going to go back to Night. When we finally get there, the med crews should be there as well, they're pretty reliable for humans." She smiled at Sapphire, giving him the hope he needed to keep on going.

They enterred the underground car park. Nurse Joy stopped beside a large pink Motorcycle. She expertly chucked her leg over it, and kicked it to life.

"C'mon Sapphire, we don't have all night." Sapphire jumped onto the back, and held onto Nurse Joy tightly. Nurse Joy locked the front wheel, powered the back, and skidded 'round to face the entrance. She then released the brake and shot out of the car park. They turned right, and barreled down the street, swerving left and right to avoid other vehicles. They reached the gates, and shot past them into the dark night.

They shot down the road for forty five minutes or so before passing the shrine. Sapphire saw it, and told Nurse Joy to slow down. She did, and was thankfull that she did so. Not twenty seconds after she slowed down she almost colided with a Medical person.

"Ah, Geoffery, nice to see you. Have you found Night yet?"

Geoffery nodded. "We Have Nurse Joy, but no one can get near him. He's being defended by a Bayleef, and a Vaporeon is keeping him frozen with an Ice beam. However, from what we can make out, he seems to be wearing some type of wing accessory, and his back may or may not be torn up badly." He shrugged. "We can't really help him the way he is. At the very least we'd have to find a way to crack the ice without killing him." He stopped speaking, and turned to his right, to show her the scene so that she could make her own descision.

Sapphire ducked ahead of them, and nearly got brained by one of Fahrnass' vines.

"Ah! Watch where you're throwing those things!" He glared at the reproachfull looking Bayleef. "I brought Nurse Joy, and the humans are for Night."

Fahrnass nodded, and sat down, panting heavily.

Sapphire walked up to the Vaporeon. "C'mon Miss Vaporeon, you have to stop now. The humans are here, they'll take care of him, wont they?"

The utterly exhausted Vaporeon stopped her attack and waited, watching Night carefully. "Fahrnass." She said softly. "If any of the humans come any where near him before the ice melts completely, attack them." Fahrnass nodded her understanding.

Nurse Joy blinked. "But if we don't get to him soon, we might not be able to save him. How exactly are we meant to get him out of the ice and into a hospital if he's frozen solid?"

The Vaporeon looked at the Nurse Joy, and noted the translator in her ear. "By waiting. He'll be out soon enough, then I'll do one last thing for him. After I do that, I'll be completely drained." She stared Nurse Joy in the eyes. "Then, and Only then, will he be yours."

Nurse Joy blinked in confusion, and Opened her mouth to question how exactly he was getting out, but Sapphire took her hand and pulled her to Night's Icy prison, he then pointed at the Fire Pendant around Night's neck.

Nurse Joy stared in complete and utter amazement as she saw the glowing pendant. She watched as the ice around it quickly melted forming a steadily growing bubble around the pendant. She cursed as she saw a problem with this arrangement.

"We need to drain the water, otherwise he's going to drown before he fully defrosts."

Sapphire looked back at Night, and saw what she saw. The bubble of water was almost reaching Night's nose. A few more minutes, and the water would encompass his entire head. He cried out in frustration, and hit the ice around Night. He blinked as his world went white suddenly and his ears were deafened by a loud roaring sound. The intense light dimmed slowly. There were gasps all around as they saw the intense light was coming from the pendant on Night's now very dry and ice free chest.

Sapphire blinked as he watched Night take in his first breath of air from the past four or so hours. He also saw The Vaporeon coming up to Night from the Corner of his eye. He watched warily as she gently pushed him forwards, and straddled his back. Then, both she and Night glowed with a soft red light. The space between them winking with red lights. Sapphire moved closer to her and Night, and watched in stunned awe as Night's wounds healed slowly. His wings had healed enough to be moved without damaging them any further, and his back now had a thin layer of skin upon it. That appeared to be the limit of her abilities, because the Vaporeon slumped forwards in a dead faint.

Sapphire looked to Nurse Joy questioningly.

She smiled. "I'm sure that I can persuade the staff to let you into his rooms Sapphire. I'm absolutely positive that he'd be delighted to see you when he wakes up." She glanced to the Vaporeon that was being carefully removed from Night's back by the med team. "And her too. I'm pretty sure he'd like to thank her for saving his life."

Sapphire smiled, and followed Night as they picked him up, and slowly walked him to the Forest Inn, where the chopper was being primed.

Nurse Joy went to her cycle, and left for the pokemon centre. She was eager to tell her staff about what she had just witnessed.

2nd day of Night's coma

Night was in a dark place. Somehow, he felt that he knew this place, but just couldn't remember why. He searched through the darkness, looking for anything that would help him solve this puzzle. When he couldn't find anything, Night sighed and went back to sleep.

3rd day of Night's coma

He had finally found they key to his puzzle. He put in the last piece, and light flooded his mind. He heard voices nearby, they were strange, yet familiar. One was very familiar. Night couldn't help feeling that it's owner was male. He only understood what he was saying rarely, but when he did understand, he felt happy inside. The other voice was deep and melodic, and most Deffinately female. She seemed to be happy about how well he was doing. Night scrunched his eyes in minor irritation, and the voices stopped speaking immediately.

"Do you think maybe he heard us Sapphire?" said the female

"I don't know. But you and I both know that's the first sign of life he's made in a long while." Said the slightly high male voice.

"Maybe you should tell him now, before you completely lose your courage again, or he wakes up." There was a long silence after this last statement.

Night heard a soft sigh. "You're right, better now than never, right?"

"Right."

There was the sound of something creaking and Night felt a light, constricting weight upon his legs. He felt something warm and moist press against his lips, and something told him that he was being kissed.

The lips pulled back, and the male voice said, "I love you Night. I know it's wrong for a pokemon to love a human this way, but I love you all the same. I hope you love me too."

Night smiled, and opened his eyes. He gazed into the very shocked blue eyes of a solid green Charmander. "I love you too Sapphire." He smiled into those wonderfull blue eyes, then looked around for the owner of the female voice. He saw a Vaporeon sitting in a chair opposite the empty one on his beds right.

"Oh .... Shit."

Night frowned at the female. The movements of her mouth didn't match what he was hearing.

She turned to Sapphire with a worried look. "He understood you and responded."

Sapphire turned to her with a puzzled frown. "So?"

The Vaporeon stood up in her chair. "So, That's not normal for humans. It means that there's something wrong with him."

Sapphire looked at the grinning human that had stolen his heart. Night simply smiled back at him.

Sapphire glanced to the Vaporeon, who nodded. Sapphire closed his eyes then opened them again. He whispered a very soft, "sorry Night." He stared deep into Night's eyes. Night tried to hold back a sudden yawn, a little confused as to why he was so sleepy all of a sudden. He yawned again, and slowly drifted off to sleep. The events of the past few minutes were quickly forgotten, becoming fragments of several dreams. He did manage to keep one thing though. He kept the wonderfull feeling he now felt from Sapphire. Night grinned in his sleep, and slowly rolled onto his side. He sighed peacefully as the nagging itch in his shoulders disappeared.
