"We walk our own path and you choose your your own destiny, but choose with caution, for the wake you leave affects all around you." I don't remember who said that but they sure were right. It's been about a day since the first people changed. Anthrocon was indefinately extended due to the outbreak. We have been hiding in our room, trying to get information about the, well world. The internet has been down ever since 6 PM that night, for no real reason why. I assume because of the lack of people running satelites and the wifi is all screwed up but I don't know. All its done is hinder this whole situation. The night afterwards, I couldn't even get a wink of sleep, all I could do was stare, stare at my black paws and think to myself "I'm a moster, what have I done?" The nightmare never seemed to end even after the sun came up.

"Dear, are you awak...OH MY GOD! Dear what happened to your fur!?"

"Oh, yeah I guess I laid on it the wrong way." I sat down as she grabbed a brush and started brushing my fur.

"Dear, there is no way your fur could get this messed up from one night unless you were..."

"Yeah, I was wet...."

"Dear why were you wet last night, were you taking a shower? You know what happens to your fur when you sleep...."

"I wasn't taking a shower, I was trying to wake myself up from this nightmare!" I start crying. The tears seem to be endless as mom held me in her now soft black furry arms. She held me tight and I felt her chest expanding slowly next to me.

"Oh dear, I can't imagine what your going through right now. But I do know, you aren't alone. I may not have objected to this and while I may not have seen myself growing...fur it doesn't matter. You are my son and I will support you no matter what or who you are. I supported you when this first happened, and I support you now! Just get ahold of yourself, you'll get through this." She's still holding me at this point. My tears dry up as I look up to her.

"Mom...I..." The moment was then interupted by a knock at the door.

"Hey, the hotel staff has asked me to tell everyone they have the cable working again. If you want to see some news with the rest of us head down to the lobby." The man then left and we could hear him knocking on the next door down.

"Guess we should head down huh?"

"Yes dear, let's see what's happening." We got dressed and headed downstairs where shock overcame us almost instantly. We saw a whole zoo so to speak. We saw foxes and deer, snakes and birds, horses and even a dragon, which scared me a lot. They were all huddled in front of the TV, and soon we could see why.

"This is Angeline Frank, your vixen reporter, people are waking up a different species then when they went to sleep. I'm here in Houston Texas where the streets are not littered with people as you would expect, but creatures of different species. Here is a half human, half fox man waking up now, Sir! Sir! What do you have to say about this situation?"

"What the *&^$ happened to me!? I went to bed and woke up some fox thing? What the hell?"

"And this is just a series of reactions to the new species the country has become. We have heard no words from any other countries as such far so we cannot be sure of who this affects. More news will be brought to you as soon as we receive it on this continuing crisis. For channel 9 news I'm Angeline Frank." Some of the dog furs were panting heavily as long as she was on screen. I walked over to the table with my mom where no one is listening.

"Look at what I did. No matter how much support you give me mom, what can we do now?" I grab her paw in mine and I look into her eyes as I pass out of over exhaustion.
