I'm sorry for the delay! I'm not gonna lie, I've been lazy. And I know this is short, but please bear with me!

There I was, standing before the object of my mischief. I was so shocked I couldn't utter a word.

"What do you want?" Growled Katy, flopping against her car impatiently.

Chris gawked at her in disbelief. He looked to his house furiously before shouting, "I want you to stop vandalizing my house!" Gritting his teeth, he swung his fist down onto the car's hood. "What did I ever do to you!?"

That was a good question. What did he do to Katy? For some reason, I had never thought to ask.

"You took first chair..." Katy mumbled softly.

"That's it!? Look at my house! My parents are going to kill me!" He gripped Katy's wrist and dragged her to the door. "You'll be the one to explain this to my parents, not me."

As we neared his front porch, Chris flicked the lightswitch beside the door. Then, as it turned on, something caught his eye. It was the faint glimmer of something polished and metallic hanging from Katy's pants. Squinting, he realized it was a wide metal keychain with the image of a black paw print.

Chris did a double-take; he let go of Katy's arm and opened the front door. "Nevermind," he muttered as he slowly moved inside. He shut the door, leaving Katy and I very confused.

"What just happened?" asked Katy, a bit relieved and a bit dumbfounded.

I didn't know, but I was intent on finding out.

After my unnerving (and confusing) experience had come to a close, Katy took me back to her house to follow through with her end of the deal. We walked into her room and she shut the door before telling me to sit on the bed.

Opening the locks took longer than I expected; each lock was looped through another, so Katy had to think carefully about which to open first. But finally, as she finished the last of seven locks, she turned back to me and leaned against the door.

"Are you ready?" she asked, her tone very serious.

I nodded anxiously.

As she began to creak it open, the first thing I noticed was a faint sliver of gray. Then, she swung it open and I finally saw what was inside.

It was tall and silver, like some sort of glorified mascot costume, only a much higher quality and not cartoonish. Its eyes were cartoonish, though--big and shiny, with bright blue surrounding the pupils.

"Feast your eyes;" declared Katy, standing back and smiling proudly, "The secret you've been waiting for!"

I had so many things to say, but the first that came out was, "What is it?"

Katy looked offended. "It's a f..." she paused, knowing she had to word this carefully. "Jonathan, have you ever heard the word 'furry' before?"

"Yeah, but I don't know what it means."

Katy didn't say a word. She looked to her computer and told me to wait. I waited.

After two minutes, she beckoned me to the computer and pointed at an image she found. It looked like a human in animal form; it--or should I say, she--was smiling and sitting on on a beach. It looked similar to the costume Katy had in her closet.

"What do you think?" she asked.

I didn't know what to think. It wasn't bad, though...in fact, I think I liked it. There was something so captivating about it, being a human and an animal at once. It reminded me of that old Robin Hood movie by Disney I had watched when I was young, along with several other shows and movies as well.

"So, this is a furry..." I mumbled. Katy grinned.

"This is called a 'fursona'; it's me in furry form. I use that costume to dress like her," she set her hand on my shoulder, "and I want you to try it, too."
