"Love is not blind; it simply enables one to see things others fail to see." - St. Paul

I don't think I had ever seen anything quite as beautiful yet, other than 'him'. It was just stunning. The different tones of blue, yellow, and orange lay brushed across the infinite canvas that stretched on as far as the eye could see. The white puffs of what almost seemed to resemble thick white smoke complimented these colors. That glowing dot too-the dim one just above the rooftops- although only dim for now, it lit the path for them all.

The sunrise, it was called. One of those things in life that we under appreciate, its beauty forgotten.

"It's beautiful," whispered a familiar voice - the voice of the one that I see in my dreams.

"I told you it was going to be good," I whispered back, a smile spreading across my face.

"Thank you, Brian," whispered the voice again, and I felt a nose begin to nuzzle into the top of my head.

I wagged my tail happily, letting it brush against the outside of his thick sweater, and I sighed, my breath clear in the winter air.

I don't think I've had something like this in so long, a peaceful moment isolated from others except for the one I loved. I lay leaning back against an angel, but only metaphorically of course. He was a husky, one by the name of Darrien. His arms were wrapped around me as we sat together, me between his legs on the roof of his house. Our heads were tilted up towards the sky, and together we watched a masterful artist painting the night away with a brush.

"You know, Dare," I spoke out loud this time, breaking the silence. "Other than this sunrise, I'd show you one of the most beautiful things on Earth, but if only I had a mirror would I be able to."

The husky lifted one of his ears up and both of his eyebrows.

"Oh?" he said, still looking up at the sky. "And what would that be, my little wolf?"

"You'll have to wait until we find a mirror," I said with a grin this time, and I tilted my head all the way back to lick at his chin. He didn't seem to have heard me though. His sapphire eyes which blended with the colors up above were still tied to the sky, and he didn't respond.

"I'll take your silence as a sign of cooperation, and that you'll wait patiently like a good little husky," he giggled to myself, and this snapped him back into reality.

"Wh-what was that?" he shook his head and then looked down at me. "Something about a cooperating and patient mirror... husky... thing...?"

"A cooperating and patient mirror-husky-thing?" I giggled a bit harder and smirked up at him. "Sure, Dare, sure."

"No, c-come on, Brian! T-Tell me!" he flushed a deep red as he stuttered while speaking, clearly embarrassed.

I always thought that Darrien was the cutest thing in world sometimes, but he refused to admit it and so he labeled me as the cuter one. Not wanting to go into a debate about this as we have many times before, I've learned to just keep it to myself. Although all our debates about it have been playfully, it just became a bit redundant.

"I said that I'll show you once we find a mirror," I chuckled now, my head still tilted all the way back, and I licked at his warm cheeks.

"O-oh..." he said simply at first, and then chuckled a bit too. "Well, why not just take me to the bathroom, silly?"

"Mmm, I'd rather not show you just yet," I started giggling once again.

Darrien just smiled down at me, but it was a bit different than normal. It was almost suspicious. And I was right, because he suddenly leaned his head down and pressed his lip against mine, his tongue begging entrance into my maw. To my surprise, my eyes closed and I submissively accepted his tongue; my lips parted from each other, allowing his tongue to slide into my maw. Our tongues wrestled against each other in a fight and his was winning, but I offered only some resistance. Maybe I wanted him to dominate me, maybe not, but regardless, he was.

I had no idea how long the kiss lasted, but by the time it broke the both of us were murring deeply and licking at each other's muzzles.

"I told you, Wuffie," I then heard Darrien whisper.

I opened my eyes. He was smirking at me.

"Huh?" I raised an eyebrow and twisted my body around so that we were actually facing each other.

"I told you," he said, still smirking, "that you were a submissive little wolf."

I felt my face instantly turn red hot, and my ears went flat against my head.

"Ahh, I see the tables have turned," he said triumphantly, and again, still smirking. "First you thought that you were in control, but it appears not."

I was at a complete loss of words. All I could just do was look up at him helplessly and feel my cheeks turn even warmer.

"And this also proves that you're the cuter one," he chuckled and pulled me back into his chest. "I love you, my cute and submissive little wolf."

"I-I love you t-too," I said back shyly, curling up into him.

He held me tightly in his arms and licked at my ears which were flicking in response. This forced a giggle out of him as he continued to lick.

"Hold 'em still, pup," he said while still giggling and licking at my ears.

"Give me a reason," I giggled with him and flicked my ears even more.

"Well, otherwise I'll have to take some disciplinary measures on my submissive little puppy, assuming that you still are my submissive little puppy," he said with a dominant tone, despite the giggling.

"Disciplinary measures?" I tilted my head and grinned widely with one eyebrow raised. "You think I'm scared of you, Dare? Everyone knows that you wouldn't hurt a fly."

"Hmm, a little rebel, aren't you," he said in an unamused tone after he stopped giggling.

"Huh?" I looked up at him again with a puzzled expression on my face after hearing his tone change.

His face was plain and he just looked down at me as if upset.

"A rebel, you, Brian," he said plainly too.

"A-And...?" I was starting to get a bit anxious and confused. "Did I do something wrong?"

"Yes, you didn't listen to me, your superior," he started to growl deeply, causing me to shake nervously.

"I-I'm sorry," I avoided his gaze and kept my ears flat against my head.

"And for doing so, I have nothing to do now but punish you," his growls turned into snarls and I flinched.

At the same moment that I flinched, Darrien pushed me onto my back and pinned me against the tiles of the roof. I kept my eyes shut tightly and whimpered in fear, turning my head onto its side, and then I felt his warm breath against my cheek. His paws had my wrists pinned tightly to the tiles, and then he pulled them down against my sides and sat on them with his knees, making his paws available to himself.

"You're going to regret not obeying me, Brian," he continued to snarl.

I tensed up nervously underneath him and then I felt it. His claws dug lightly into my sides and then. And then. He began laughing?

I slowly opened one eye and turned my head again to look back at him. The husky was laughing uncontrollably to himself, tears already trailing down his cheeks.

"D-Dare?" I stared at him in complete confusion, and was actually a bit scared now. Before I could say anything else though, I felt his fingers wiggle against my sides, causing me to yip and open my eyes wide.

He was tickling me!

My whole body started to squirm about wildly; my head tossed from side to side, my arms struggled to free themselves, and my legs kicked around desperately.

"D-Darrien! Stop!" I pleaded while laughing uncontrollably, like him.

"You've been a bad puppy, pup," he continued tickling me mercilessly. "This is your punishment!"

"Pl-Please Dare," I begged, tears starting from laughing starting to stream down my cheeks too. "I can't take it anymore!"

To my relief, the husky stopped and rolled off of me, still laughing uncontrollably to himself and gasping for breath. Simply thankful that I was no longer being tickled, I just lay there panting and chuckling weakly.

"I had you going there!" he burst out, clutching at his stomach as he curled up from laughing.

After catching my breath, I rolled on top of him and pinned him in the exact same way he did to me. He was too busy still laughing to notice though.

"Perhaps you didn't notice that the tables have turned yet again?" I said, grinning down at him.

"Wh-What?" Darrien said, still laughing, but only just a bit now. What did you sa-?"

Darrien stopped laughing completely and opened his eyes wide at me.

"Oh, crap..." he breathed, still staring wide-eyed at me.

"Indeed," I kept grinning, and brushed my fingers lightly against his sides.

"Pl-Please don't..." he whined.

"Oh, don't worry, I won't," I leaned down and licked his nose playfully. "But only if you tell me how much you love me."

"I-I love you a lot!" he kept whining and struggled against me a bit, trying to throw me off of him.

"Mmm, not good enough, Dare Dare," I licked his nose again.

"My love f-for you is as vast a-as the ocean!" he stopped struggling and looked up at me with hope in his eyes.

"That's better," he smiled and kissed his lips softly before rolling off of him and snuggling into his side.

Darrien sighed in relief and gave himself a few seconds before rolling onto his side, facing me, and pulled me closer to him, snuggling me too.

Time had passed by quite fast while we were up there with me snuggled tightly in his arms. We had gotten up at around five to wait for the sunrise, but it was already nine when we decided that it was time to go back inside, even though it felt like only an hour or possibly even less had passed by.

"Thanks again, Bri," Darrien said with a smile after we had climbed back into his room through his window. "For sharing the sunrise with me."

"What's yours is mine, so says your mum, so why shouldn't mine be yours too?" he smiled back, but then gave a thought at what I had just said.

"Well," I began again. "Technically it's yours as well anyways."

I smiled a bit awkwardly and scratched the back of my head.

"Yes, but you were the one that made it special for me," he tilted his head a bit while still smiling at me. I spotted his tail wagging slowly behind his back.

"Again, anything for you, Dare Dare," I turned around to examine the collection of books he had on a shelf above his bed, but I did it to hide my cheeks that were once again starting to turn red.

"You know," he began walking up to me, and then wrapped his arms around my waist from behind. He rested his muzzle between my ears as he continued to speak. "You can try all you want to hide it, but I know that you're blushing."

"Who says I'm blushing?" I tried to act as natural as possible, but curled my lips backwards into my maw since he couldn't see my face from where he was.

"Oh, no one at all," I heard a slight change in his tone as he spoke, he was probably grinning now. "Just, y'know... making a wild assumption here."

"Well, Dare Dare, I'm quite sure that I'm not blushing," I spun around and looked up at him, however my cheeks were still red. "See?"

He pulled his head back and raised both an ear and an eyebrow.

"Mmhmm, those red cheeks definitely prove that you're not blushing," he said plainly, but I could tell that he was trying to hold back a laugh, judging by how his face was starting to turn red too, and how he bit down on his lip.

I just threw my palm against my face which was wearing a smile and slowly shook my head with my eyes closed.

"Alright, Dare, alright, you win," I said in defeat. "And your reward is just this way."

I took a hold of his paw and lead him out of his room and into the bathroom, and right in front of the mirror.

"I said I'd show it to you, and here it is," I nudged my head in the direction of the mirror.

"Well, there's your mirror. Where is 'the most beautiful thing on Earth' that you're trying to show me?" he asked, unsure of what I was trying to present to him.

"Look closer, Darrien, you'll see what I'm trying to show you," I said with a grin.

Darrien faced the mirror and shrugged as he looked it. He tilted his head and different angles, he moved his head further away and closer, and he even squinted, but he didn't see it.

"I still don't see-" he stopped midsentence and his eyes opened wider in realization.

He was staring right at 'the most beautiful thing on Earth' right in front of him.

He was staring at himself.
