Chapter 5 : Power For a Price
Several weeks past after they spoke about their parents and Auria and Zack were sitting in their living room making preparations to visit the digital world to perform the Renamon Lifemate Ceremony.
"While it would normally be 'our' mother whom would bind us in this ceremony," Auria explained to Zack excitedly, " Seeing as this cannot happen it will fall to whomsoever is the leader of the clan."
"Um honey didn't you say that your village was destroyed? I thought you were the last one" Zack asked.
"Oh....yes that's.....right...." she replied as tears formed underneath her eyes.
"Hey, hey I didn't mean to make you cry!" Zack said, mentally beating himself for being so stupid.
"It's okay Zack, and you weren't being stupid, you were being the honest, loving human I know you are," she said sniffling and wiping the tears from her eyes as she placed her paw on his cheek.
Zack scooted over and wrapped her in a tight hug. "Do you know how to perform the ceremony?" he wispered into her ear, then nuzzled her neck fur. "Mrrr.." she purred in delight, "Yes, actually. It's taught to all Renamon from when we are viximon so we can be ready to perform it for our friends and family whenever necessary. "Alright then," Zack said, "Let's perform it ourselves then." "Zack! That isn't allowed within the ceremony, it has to be either our family or closest friends who give us to each other, anything else and the ceremony will be nulled infinitely!" Zack sighed, "Well that poses a problem since you are my closest friend (and much more, he thought) and I know that we both have no living family..."
"Zack just when did I saw my father was dead?"
"Wait you mean that your father is still alive? But I thought you were the last Renamon!?" he asked incredulously.
"I am the last RENA-mon Zack. RENA-mon are female, and I am the last of them..." she said looking away, "But males are called RENO-mon. They still exist though it will be very difficult to find them and my father."
"So what's your father like?" Zack asked hoping to move away from the topic of Auria being the last female of her kind.
"Well..." Auria began, when suddenly BAM!! CRRRRAAAACKK!!! The entire ceiling was destroyed and the rubble fell around Zack and Auria. "DAMNIT WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Zack yelled. "IT'S THEM ZACK! LOOK UP, IT'S THE BROTHERS! THEY'RE BACK!!" Auria shouted over the sound of the falling debris.

Meanwhile what happened to the Avian Brothers after their last attack...?
The Avian Brothers defeated, their bodies transformed to data, however unknown to Zack or Auria, their actual code was teleported from the seen and in its place the code of a previous digimon the two brothers had killed was left.
As fast as the speed of light, the data particles were teleported to an underground laboratory. Within this laboratory, there were supercomputers running various programs outputting millions of lines of code. The design of the room had been a direct adaptaion of the original Hypnos system used but now with more....effective measures of stopping digimon bioemergence within the real world. Of these measures, the Avian Brothers were on of the most prominently used, or rather manipulated, but that is for later.
The Brothers' data was absorbed into a tube gleaming with a clear, thick fluid. A computer, upon scanning the reconstruction tube and finding an occupent, initialized, "PROGRAM AVIAN DOPPLEGANGERS IDENTIFIED. SCANNING..... DEFEAT IN BATTLE ACKNOWLEDGED. RECONSTRUCTION AND POWER MODIFY TO BEGIN IN T-MINUS 3....2....1....BEGIN RECONSTRUCTION"
In a bright flash, the tube glowed a dark blue energy as the bodies of the Avian Brothers reformed within and then, when the process finished, their bodies were connected to a singular wire which connected through the navel. "POWER MODIFY ACTIVATE," the computer announced. The cords began to cackle with electricity as the power level of both warriors grew another 20 percent from their previous max. "COMPLETE. PROGRAM AVIAN DOPPELGANGERS READY FOR NEXT ASSIGNMENT." the computer stated monotonously.
In the shadows of the laboratory, just out of sight of the newly reconstructed Brothers, a hooded figure stands in a corner, his eyes gleaming a blood red.
"Avians, such a disappointment you are right now," the figure said. If suffering could be described by a single sound, his voice easily fit the bill. "To think I send you on a simple mission, and yet even with your greater power, you still come back as raw data. Perhaps you aren't worth the energy it takes to Reconstruct you hmm? After all I believe that this is the fifth time that you have failed to kill that Renamon!" he said his voice taking on a cold, death-like quality.
The Brothers opened their eyes, hearing the figure speak, replying, "Forgive us sir, we were careless and were caught off guard as the damned bitch now has a tamer which gave her the strength to defeat us."
"Tamer? She took on a tamer, did she?" the figure began to laugh, a chill ran down the Avians' spines, his laugh was one that even death feared. "Well perhaps we should....congratulate her....except this time..." he smiled, his razor-sharp teeth flashing murderously, "Give her a present; her partner's heart....and to make sure the job is done properly, I'll give you a portion of my speed to make sure that he cannot stop you again," He began cackling maniacally as the Brothers felt yet another painful surge as their forms were forcibly changed to accomodate the speed given to them.
"NOW GO!!"
"SIR YES SIR!" they yelled and disappeared.

As Zack looked up, he saw one of the brothers standing on the top of a wall now exposed thanks to having his ceiling ripped off. "YOU BASTARD I JUST FIXED THE DAMN CEILING!"
Suddenly it occured to him, 'Wait where's the other...'he thought as he turned around quickly to locate the other one seeing that Auria was being attacked by the other of the two. 'Damnit, I have to help her....shit the D-Arc and my cards are still on the table by my bed. Judging from ugly up there I'm not going to just be able to walk over and get them so I guess I'll have to resort to my last defense.'
As he said this, Zack, standing in the rubble, threw his hand straight out to his side and focused on the thoughts of his "mother" and what she had secretly told him in a note that he even now had kept in his back pocket, "Dear Zack, I know that because of me you will be in grave danger, so in order for you to protect yourself, I gave you the ability to summon the ultimate weapon. I can't explain lest it's secrets be known to anyone other to you but all you need to do is when you feel that you're in danger, place your right hand straight out to the side of your body. Then, keeping your palm open, focus the energy within you and force it to take form in your hand, and call out 'Kitsune Blade' and you will have a weapon built from my very self for your protection."
Truth was that he had never tried to summon the blade and for a long time thought maybe his mother had been a little nuts, but since he met Auria, and found out who his "mother" was, he trusted in the note completely.
So as he focused his energy he opened his hand and yelled, "KITSUNE BLADE!!" A blinding flash of light erupted from the center of his palm as the light started off a a simple ball then elongated to the shape of a katana. As the light began to fade he noticed that it had a ying-yang symbol upon it as well as another carving that for some reason gave Zack the distinct feeling of what he remebered his mother to be like. As though the symbol was the direct imprint of her soul.
Then Zack heard Auria yell to him, "Zack no! Don't use that...AUUUGGHHHHH!!!" She howled in pain.
Zack immediately flipped around looking to where Auria's voice came from. As he looked he saw her and screamed, "AURIA NOOO!!!"

As the debris fell from above, Auria sensed movement behind her and quickly jumped backwards doing a double backflip, just barely avoiding the blue blade of one of the Avian Brothers.
"Hmmm...You're still alive and as stupid as ever!" Renamon growled as she landed facing the Avian's back. He slowly turned around laughing all the while.
**Quick description of these Brothers for you**
Both are well-built mean approximately 6 ft tall. Their eyes are gray and their hair is a charcoal black. Their faces would almost look handsome if it werent for the quiet rage and pale white complexions on their faces.
Now back to the fight!
As he faced the fox, he replied, "And I see that you are just as beatiful, if not as patheically inferior, as ever."
"What did you say you fucking abomination?!" she hissed.
"Now I'm an abomination? When did I get promoted?" he smirked.
"At the exact moment when you changed yourself to a database lifeform you bastard. You are an insult to life everywhere, and you're so weak that your precious little 'master' has to keep reconstructing you and beefing you up just to watch you fail time and time again!" she laughed tauntingly.
Suddenly she felt a pain across her left arm as she looked and saw a deep gash into her arm. "ARRGHH..." she moaned in pain, however keeping quiet so as not to give the Avian any pleasure from her pain. 'When the fuck did that happen?' she thought.
"Surprised? You should be because in exactly 5 seconds I'm going to cut your right arm in exactly the same place. Ready? 5.....4.....3....2....1...NOW!"
he shouted.
As Auria set herself up to defend the oncoming blow she realized he had already struck before she had even been able to prepare. 'Impossible...' she thought, 'this speed is beyond even my own at top speed! This isn't good, he's toying with me'
Realizing her slim chances, 'I need to get back to Zack. If this one is this fast then the other one is just as quick. Okay, I'll fire Diamond Storm to distract him and then.....what the fuck?!' she thought as she saw a light glowing in Zack's palm. She looked closely as she saw the light take form of a blade as Zack yelled, "KITSUNE BLADE!!"
(No!, That's the blade of the fallen! I thought it had disappeared with my mother as she was the last to have it before she died and she never revealed its location, she thought, I have to stop Zack, if he uses that blade, he'll die!...)
Forgetting about the Avian fighting her, she turned to her mate shouting, "Zack no! Don't use that...AUUUGGHHHHH!!!" she howled in pain. She looked down to see the blade of the Avian piercing throught her heart. As she looks, she immediately spits blood from her muzzle and hears Zack scream in rage, "AURIA NOOO!!!"
"Z-zack, *cough* I-I'm...sorry I...failed y-you, *cough*" Auria said as she coughed more blood. The Avian ripped his blade from her body watching her fall and laughing all the while. "HAHA YES! Now bitch I will watch you die a death as slow and painful as the many which you have made us suffer. Only unlike us, you will not come back!!"

Zack stared in horror and disbelief as the blade piercing Auria's heart was viciously ripped from her chest as she fell to her knees and slumped to the ground, motionless. 'No....No....it's all my fault....I didn't have the D-Arc....I wasn't there to protect her....She didn't fail me,' he thought, his anger growing. Suddenly in a burst of energy Zack was consumed in a ball of green energy as he screamed in rage, "...I FAILED HER!! NOW YOU, AVIAN BASTARDS .... WILL PAY!!"
The Avians looked to each other, both thinking (What the hell, is this human digivolving?! but this is impossible! How can this be happening?!) As they watched in shock they realized the power emanating from within the sphere was far beyond them. Then The ball changed to a bright gold as it faded to reveal the human, but....'Incredible! they thought, He looks like a hybrid of renomon and human, hold on there was a word for it, anthro or something of the like'
When the light faded, Zack stood there with his eyes closed. His dirty blonde hair now was a mix of gold and silver fur that flowed so that one could not tell where one color began and another ended. His ears like a Renomon's were situated on top of his head and were high and alert. His silver chest fur formed a V stopping about halfway down his lean, muscular form. His legs arms and legs looked to be about average build (for a fox that is :D ) however there was obvious strength that didn't show. His gauntlets were a sky blue that gave him the look of a being of peace. However, as Zack's eyes opened they turned from the dark blue of a typical renamon to a complete blood red; it was as thought rage had taken complete control and his gauntlets changing as well. Then, his fur too changed from the beautiful gold/silver flow into a deathly black and grey making his fur appear to be nothing more than smoke.
As the Avian Brothers looked on in fear, Zack growled in an voice that appeared to embody the sufferring he was likely to inflict, "You....Have you had your fun? Because this time when I kill you...no part of you or your code....WILL ESCAPE THE FLAMES OF MY....DIAMOND HELL STORM!!" He roared as dark red energy formed around him and shattered into thousands of pieces which then rapidly fired at the two brothers simultaneously.
As the Brothers looked into the maelstrom of blood red diamonds flying at them, their last thought was, (He....looked exactly like....him.....)
