Kobold's Desk Pet

Taco wanted to know what it'd be like for a kobold to shrink the reader from 1? to 1? tall. So... here you go! Have fun down there~ ????

You'd teased kobolds about their short stature in the past. They're just miniature dragon-like things, aren't they? One kobold mused that you should see the other side of that coin and, when you dared them to do it, they drank an unmarked potion and exhaled it like a breath weapon. You felt a sense of vertigo as that breath flowed over your body like a starry fog and, by the time you shook it off, you were at eye level with the kobold. They laughed at your shocked expression and gestured at the grand world around them. "Aww, we're not that little," the kobold teased, "But you will be by the time you finish shrinking..."

Wait, you were still shrinking? It certainly seemed that way, given that you were now chest height to the kobold. They picked you up--you scarcely believed you were small and light enough for a kobold to handle you--and took you to their lair for further examination. You couldn't escape, despite your struggling, as you continually became smaller and weaker. By the time you two were in private you were barely a third of that kobold's height. The kobold set you on their desk, sat in the accompanying chair, and smiled down at you.

"Now, how small are you gonna get?" the kobold leaned in to get a closer look at you. "I knew that shrinking potion was pretty strong, but I didn't think you were gonna get this small." They placed one hand on either side of you and leaned in to get a closer look. "But hey, you look cute like that, and I'm sure you'd be a good li'l pet if I decide to keep you around!"

You try to protest that point. If they keep you around like a pet? You're a person! But, as you glance around the desk, even you question that self-description. The kobold opened a book next to you and, at your current size, you doubt you could have opened that hardcover tome. They grabbed a pen that looked to be your size and carefully scribbled some notes in the margins of a page. "Ah. I see what happened. I was supposed to use a pinch of that, not the whole thing..." The kobold smiled sheepishly down at you. "But hey, at least you're going to be safe here, right?"

Safe seemed like a strange word for it, especially as the kobold's desk seemed to expand. It looked more like the floor of a cathedral, given how far it stretched before you and how far the room's rocky ceiling stretched above. The kobold gently placed a hand next to you and slowly moved it closer. Their hand was larger than you... at this point, even their fingers were bigger. You cringed as it drew closer but, instead of harming you, the kobold gently stroked you with the claw tipping a thumb as big as your entire body.

"So, cutie, do you want lunch?" The kobold grins teasingly and offers a few small scraps of flame-grilled mushroom. Just the leftovers from a kobold were enough to be a filling meal for you. "Gotta make sure my pet is well fed to be big and strong!" They pause for a moment before giggling at their joke. Still, if you're here, you may as well make the most of it. You're just a kobold's pet now.
