A lore poem for Deabo to establish a little bit more about him. I'll let this poem mostly stand on its own but yeah he's a messenger iguana, delivering mail. Originally posted in November 2021, the second of two poems I posted on the same day.
A Notable Messenger Lizard

A Hispaniolan Ground Iguana
From New Jersey he comes
Meaning he doesn't really have the time like most others to admire things like the local view
He's too busy trying to make it to New York as he gets his metrocard out with clawed thumbs
Taking the teleport gate to the office building where as a courier he works
Delivering mail between building floors isn't always easy but the job has perks
Though sometimes he has to deal with tenants who act like jerks
Still he likes his job and he does it well
He's a little bit cocky but he tries not to let his head swell
He may not be a fancy chef or have magic powers like his cousin but to him that's fine
He's 7 foot 5 and a beastman from birth with his brown scales and huge tail
With the golden spikes above his spine
In his youth he played baseball but now he's just trying to handle packages without fail
A wooer of many a woman and more than a few men and beastmen who love his scaled behind
His name is Deabo
Known for many things like his intelligence or the coolness of his red bespectacled eyes
He may be part of a large family but he remains truly one of a kind
Technically old of flesh but still young of heart and mind
He's got plenty of stories to tell which can spellbind
