"I think you're going to need to be a little more specific, hun," the shopkeeper told Sara with a friendly smile. "You've come to a shop of near endless possibilities. Asking for 'something fun' could be interrupted a million different ways."

"Oh, sorry. I'm still a little taken aback by all this. I honestly thought the things I heard, about this store, about you, werebeyond belief," admitted Sara as she stood in front of the shopkeeper's counter on a sleepy Friday afternoon. "But if you really have magic that could transform me, hmmmm, what wouldI want?"

"A question only you can truly answer. I can tell from that glimmer in your eye that your head is already buzzing with all possibilities," the shopkeeper keenly observed. "Take your time, hun. This shop isn't going anywhere."

Sara had come a fair distance to visit the mysterious magic shop hidden within a nondescript town where it passed as a simple antique store. Inside was a warm, welcoming atmosphere where the red headed shopkeeper behind the counter wasfriendly and knowledgeable to any who sought her services. It's said the items sold by hercanchange a personinto anything. From the opposite gender, to any animal, a hybrid of both, or even simple inanimate objects. If there was any truth to it Sara was excited to find out.

Standing six feet tall with a slender build, blonde hair, and green eyes, Sara was still in her early 20s. At that moment she had on a simpleblacktank top, jeans, and sandals for what was a balmy day out. A more modern look compared to the shopkeeper's corseted-dress combination. As she stood there, a long time fan of all sorts of transformations, Sara was feeling spoiled for choice.

After some internal debate, Sara thought she had it. "Maybe something... feline?" she asked modestly.

"Ah, feline. A good starting pointbut still a little generic. Are you able to narrow it down some or would like some assistance withthat?" offered the shopkeeper.

"Oh jeez, I love all sorts of cats. Big, small, domestic, exotic, and every stripe, spot, and kind." Sara smiled. "Tricky picking just one."

"No doubt it would be," the shopkeeper agreed. "So it sounds like you need a hand deciding. Good thing I have the perfect deviceon hand device to help with that. Just need to have my assistant fetch it for us," assured the shopkeeper. She then leaned back on her stool so she could reach a hand back through the bead curtain behind her. "Ellah!" she shouted into the backroom.

"Whaaaaaat?"moaneda woman's voice in reply.

"None of that attitude. And get off your phone. We have a customer who needs some help deciding. Can you fetch me one of my Telling Dials? Preferably the 'cat' one if it isn't too much trouble? And if you could be quick about it," insisted the shopkeeper, adding a snap of her fingers. She then turned back to Sara with her smile untarnished. "Should only be a moment."

In the couple minutes it took the assistant, Sara could hear her grumble, grunt, and eventuallycry out in pain as something collapsed in the shop's backroom. Worryingsounds of boxes, metal, and limbs flailing followed. Each causing the shopkeeper's right eye to twitch a little bit.

Finallyfromthe back came a disheveled looking bunny woman in a tight, revealing tux, and top hat. She had the features of a rabbit, like the ears, nose, and tail- marking her out as something magical creature in her own right. In her hand she carried a small, circular bronze device that looked like an oversized pocket watch or compass. It was definitely mechanical with numerous notched recesses arrayed along the top portion. It's most distinct feature though was the feline paw which stuck up from the domed center with ruby studded pads.

"Thank you, Ellah. By the way, your hat is a little crooked," the shopkeeper mentioned to her assistantas she took the bronze device from her.

"Yeah, yeah. I know. You still need me for anything?" she asked hurriedly.

"I might, so just stick around, okay? We're about to help Sara here find out what feline changes suit her best," the shopkeeper replied as her attention turned back to her customer. "Now, let us see what cat your heart really desires." At that a finger sized metal slot clicked open on the underside of the devicewhich the shopkeeper had positioned between her and Sara. "What we have here is a simple Telling Dial, tuned to more feline options. Just slide one of your fingers in that little slotyou see then after I give a twist the paw on top it will determine which feline you really want most of all."

"It won't hurt, will it?" Sara asked apprehensively.

"The Dial? Oh my no. It's a bit cramped for your finger but that's it. And you only have to keep it in there while the dial decides, which never takes more than a few seconds," the shopkeeper promised while maneuvering the pieceinto position.

"All right.Sothen what? Will it transform me right away?" Sara asked nervously. Her plan, had the shop been real, was to try the magic in the comfort of her own home but excitement was steadily creeping in. Just to be able change, to actually transform, like she always wanted had her so anxious she hardly wanted to wait a minute more.

The shopkeeper shook her head. "Nothing so rapid, hun. The dial here will spin and when it's found the answer the corresponding hatch will open from one of the thirteen compartments on top. On the inside of the raised lid you'll see the Dial's choice for you. That simple," she guaranteed.

"Sounds simple. Just stick it here?" Sara confirmedas she slid her finger into the slot.

"Just so! Now, hold still." The shopkeeper then took the device by the ruby paw and spun it like a top, sending the slots whizzing around. With Sara's fingerfixed underneath, she was left to watch restlessly as the Dial decided for her. After only a few seconds the Dial's spin abruptly stopped, with a single compartment, facing the shopkeeper, clickingopen.

"See? Worked like a charm. Now,what feline does Sara really desire most to be..."

Sara blushed a little but couldn't contain herself. "What is it?"

"Interesting. You're on the bigger side," the shopkeeper smirked as she began rotating the dial towards Sara. Only for Ellah, standing right behind the shopkeeper, to spoil the surprise first.

"A tiger? Those are the stripey ones, right?" Ellah pondered thoughtlessly. The shopkeeper promptly flicked one of her big ears."Ow! What was that for?"

"I was going to let our POTENTIAL customer see for themselves but there you go ruining the surprise. Again," groaned the shopkeeper, her head shaking. "Sorry about that, Sara.My loud mouthed, carrot brained assistant doesn't know when to not speak sometimes. But as you can see now too, a tiger suits you best at the moment. So howdoes that strike you?"

The surprise may have been ruined but when Sara saw the painted image of a large tiger on the slot's lid it filled her with a tingling euphoria. Her eyes drifted down to the compartment itself which contained a thick orange powder with black stripes running through it. Her curiosity sparked, Sara asked while pointing to the powder, "And is this stuff that would, I guess, actually transform me?"

"It could, yes. But that mixtureis meant to be used inmakeup. Like lipstick or finishing powder, to help dilute its effects. Giving you a transformation you can trigger when you want and for a set period of time. If that's something you're interested in I could certainly start the process for you," the shopkeeper offered as she carefully set the Dial down on the counter.

"Hmm, a tiger lipstick? I like the sound of that," grinned Sara.

"Wonderful! It will take me ten or fifteen minutes but I can get that made for you," replied the shopkeeper, already standing and clearing away all the clutter on hercounter.

"Since it's your first time, I think some lipstick witha triggered, swift transformation along with three or so hours of tiger time would suit best. You'll have your human wits the whole time and changes themselves won't hurt so much as feel very, very strange. You'll get used to it. So, does that sound satisfactory to you, Sara?"

"That sounds, sounds... amazing! Thank you! Thank you!" gushed Sara. After so many years dreaming about it, she was now at the cusp of actual transformation. This being a magical Dial's decision weirdlyassured her thatthis was meant to be.

"Of course, hun. It's why I have this shop in the first place; for wonderful folks like you," the shopkeeper smiled. While she talked she took out the tiger compartment from the Dial and set it carefully on the wood counter.

"If you'll excuse me,I have to get some supplies from the back myself since I can't trust my dear assistant Ellah not to somehow damage them en route.

However there is something my assistant can help withas she keeps mynewest customer busy. And that's measuring me a half-spoonful of the tiger powder out for me," explained the shopkeeper as she took out a small spoon and a circle of white paper from under the counter. "Just be careful with it, okay, Ellah?"

"You don't always have to lecture me, you know. I've learned a lot here over the years!" Ellah huffed.

"And forgotten twiceas much," retorted the shopkeeper. Then as she moved towards the backroom she stopped to look back. "I won't be long. Just keep an eye on her," she instructed.

"Can do," Ellah and Sara replied in unison.

On that awkward note the shopkeeper disappeared into the back, leaving Sara in the care ofthe curious bunny woman.

"Do you need any help?" offered Sara as she watched the assistant begin to measure out the magical powder.

"You can help by not moving or saying anything until I finish. I spook super easily, have fat fingers, my hair gets in the way, orsometimes my glasses slide offmy faceso lots to go wrong without added distractions," Ellah confided to Sara.

At the same time she emptied tiger powder onto the circle of paper with all the care she could muster. This done, the assistant then picked up ateaspoon and, Sara keeping still as she could, Ellah scooped out the tiger dust. She tapped the excess off onto the paper underneath until she had the perfect amount. "There. No mistakes. Just how I like it!"

"Great job!" congratulated a supportiveSara.

"Now to get the leftoversback into that little thing," Ellah noted after setting the spoon delicately aside. Next she picked up both the paper with the remaining powder and the container with the intention of pouring from one hand to the other. "Easy now," she warned herself.

Seeing the assistant's shaking hands, Sara offered to help. "How about I pour and you collect? Easier than doing it all yourself."

Ellahwas reluctant to accept helpbut asshewanted to avoid the shopkeeper's ire by messing up, she relented to reason. "Honestly, that would probably be for the best. Thank you. What's your name again?"

"Sara," she replied as she carefully took the paper with the remaining powder.

Ellah smiled gratefully. "Sara, thanks a whole bunch. The way my luck isI'd end up spilling more than I-I-I-I-"

Sara watched Ellah's face awkwardly scrunch in. "Are you okay? You look like you're about to-"

"Achoooooo!" Ellah sneezed hard. This sent the powder she washolding right into her customer's unsuspectingface, coating it in orange and started Sara coughing. Once Ellah had recoveredand saw the damage shepulled a frightened look. Complete with erect, quivering ears. "That's not good."

"Better health to whoever just sneezed out there!" the shopkeeper shouted from the back unawares.

Sara was reduced to coughing while frantically trying to clean herself off. Her skin was starting to feel hot and tingly wherever the powderlandedand where it got inside herit quickly dissolved. By the time Ellah could rush around the counter with a cloth to help, Sara could feel a crackling heat spreading all over her body. The concentrated magical tiger powder was alreadykickingin.

"Ack! My eyes! My mouth!" Sara exclaimed in a panic.

"Stand still! I gotta get this off you fast!" Ellah warned as she hastilyworked. She knew all too well how mistakes like this usually ended in the shop.

"Why so fast?" Sara asked with a grimaced look. That pervasive heat had expandedthrough her whole body and leechedto the bone, triggering cramping along with general discomfort all over. When Sara could finally pry her eyes open it was to desaturated colors and a very alarmed bunny woman."What is it? Did you get most of it off? Why does everything look weird? I think I got some of that in my eyes? Wait, why are you staring at me like that?"

"I, ummm, errrrrr, sort of..." stammered Ellah nervously in response. With reluctant acceptance, the assistant sighed and knew what she had to do. "Boss lady? I think we might have an issue!"

"Have an issue? I don't like how you said that. What kind of issue exactly?" theshopkeeper shouted from the backroom.

"Well, uhhhhh, I don't know how to explain it..." a frantic Ellah trailed off, unable to find the right words. Not easy when watching a bewildered Sara start to succumb to the powder's potent magic.

The tiger striped orange powder had seeped in deeply. Sara's petite nose was now swollen wider across her face, broadening her nostrils and bridge of her nose in the process. The skinaround the biggernostrils pinked more while the edges darkened. Similarly blackened were Sara's enlargedlips which the woman poked with a curious finger. Inside her mouth too there was a near painless aching that was emanating from her teeth, gums, tongue, and into her throat. By the time Sara had bothhands up to her face, whiskers were sprouting from under her nose where her puffylips were pursing up- further adding to the feline look alreadytaking shape.

"My face! My teeth! My- ack!- my everything!" gasped Sara as best she could. She was starting to wobble as her balance wavered and her clothing was getting uncomfortably tight all over. Except in her bra where her modest bust shrunk away.

"This is bad, this is bad, this really, really bad," Ellah fretted. It was bad enough that the shopkeeper was going to berate her for transforming yet another customer on accident but Sara's changes were progressing very quickly. Too quickly Ellah thought.

Unnerved by what she was hearing, the shopkeeper returned promptly with her supplies in hand. "Okay, what's with all the shout- oh you have got to be kidding me. What in the worlds did you do to ourcustomer this time, Ellah?!" the shopkeeper growled at her assistant as she hurriedly came around the counter.

"She was just helping me put the powder back and I sort of, kinda, maybe sneezed the excess tiger powder into her face..." Ellah admitted with her ears drooped and eyes as big as could be for pity's sake.

The shopkeeper pushed Ellah out of the way to get to Sara. Grabbing the woman by the shoulders, the savvy shopkeeper made as quick assessment of the situation as she could. As she did she also carefully moved Saraback so she'd have space for what was likely to come next. Sara's hair was starting to fall out with orange, black, and white fur sprouting to cover her scalp. Soon though this fur was spreading down ontoher face just as her teeth grew sharper and a muzzle took shape. When she tried to speak Sara could manage wheezing growls.

"Don't try to talk, hun. It won'tdo you any good. You're getting thattiger transformation you wantedonly in a more expedited and possibly more irreversible way that I intended," the shopkeeper told Sara in a calm, collected voice. "This powder's potency is not going to be easy to overcome. Not impossible but, hmmm, maybe..." she trailed off in hurried contemplation.Once she hadan ideathe shopkeeper swapped places with her assistant, leaving Ellah to keep a wobbling Sara, whose feet were plumping into paws, propped up. "I'll be back as fast as I can, I promise," she assured Sara. Then told her assistant "Watch her. And try not to cause more havoc in the five minutes I'm gone, okay?"

Sara anxiously watched as theshopkeeper rushed to her backroom, hopefully for a cure. With how quickly the changes were coming Sara could barely process everything happening to her. A remorseful Ellah could see the bewilderment in Sara's eyes so tried to comfort her."I'm really, really sorry about this, Sara. I really am. I'm a bit of ditz sometimes. Okay, most of the time. But don't worry. I'm sure the boss ladycan fix this. You're not the first customer who's accidentally changed in here and almost certainly won't be the last. At least you're not changing into an elephant or some grotesque abomination of flesh, right?" Ellah suggested with some forced laughter in a lackluster effort to ease Sara's panic.

But things for Sara were happening so quickly that calming down wasn't an option. From tugging at her bigger ears that rounded them off, to the large, thick, sharp claws that adorned her hands and feet, Sara's concentration scattershot. Her body was getting away from her more and more. All she could really do was simply let it happenand hope.

Ripping sounds start to fill the room as Sara's clothing was pulled apart by the massing tiger's body. Muscles everywhere were cramping, sore, but also bulging and growing into rippling, well toned groups all over her body. Tugging at the base of her spine had also caused a rip of its own as a bony but still hairless tail sprung free. The hole it opened ended up tearing her pants wide open when shifting in her pelvis and thighs was more than it could bear.

The transformation was also starting to weigh on Ellah but in a more literal sense. Sara's growing weight was more than the petite assistant could bear. Making things even harder were Sara's now very dangerously sharp nails."Okay, everything is fine, you're just getting big. Gonna let you down very slowly. Don't worry, I promise I won't drop you. Just try to mind your paws- I mean, hands, sorry. It's just I don't want you to accidentally slice off one of my ears. Or a nose. Or my hands. Or an arm. Or my tit,"Ellah fretfully listed while helping ease Sara to the floor.

Face furry, whiskered, and eyes aching, Sara still understood and did her best to not hurt Ellah. Even managing to retract her claws as she found herself gaining a feline awareness of her new form.

With Ellah's help Sara got down ontoall fours without issue. No sooner was sheon the floor than her skeleton becamebeset by numerousunsettling sounds of bone and viscera cracking, popping, and shifting inside her. This unsurprisingly caused massivephysical fluctuations that ripped her already tattered clothing to bits as Sara's shoulders, ribs, and backend outgrew it all.The orange, white, and black stripes of her fur were thick in some places, like her ass, feet, head, and shoulders, while most everywhere else wasn't far behind. Only a fewpatches of human skin could still be seen though they steadily gaveup ground to encroaching fur.

Thecuriouschanges continued to beset the haplesswoman. Such asthe new rows of nipples growing down Sara's heaving andelongated torso. Or her feline slit migrating up closer toher fluffing tail. Internal bloating, swelling, tugging, and knotting was a constant she just had to bear. Bigger lungs and an aching in her throat led toSara's frequent groans and snortsturning into a tiger's weak mewling. This as aflat, wet, long tiger tongue lulled from her mouthand over new rows of sharpened incisors and canines. So many changes in what felt like no time at all to Sara.

'It's happening so fast. Getting so... big,' thought a still frantic Sara.

All Ellah could do was give Saraspace and hope the shopkeeper had a fix for this one. Sara's claws dug into the wood floor, loudly scratching in deep grooves due to the constant strain she was under. Herrearpaws were forcedfurther back by the continued growth of her muscled, furred legs; clawing even deeper gouges. The pained look on Sara's face said everything.

"Don't worry, Sara. The shopkeeper should be back any minute n-" Ellah was tryingto reassure when, to her relief, the shopkeeper reappeared from the backroom. She was moving quickly and carrying shoebox sized case."See! I told you! She's b-ACK!" Ellah gasped when the casewas abruptly pushed into her chest.

"Hold this," the shopkeeper curtly told her assistant. Quickly throwing open case's lid, the shopkeeper took out a small red satchel and from it poured a dust colored a shimmering dark blue into her palm. Then she knelt downin front of Sara, sparing a compassionate look for the troubled woman. One of Sara's eyes was already a tiger's amber while the other still had some of her natural green but both convulsed worryingly. To calm her somewhatthe shopkeeper thoughtfully pet Sara's recentlyfurred cheek. "Listen and I will get you through this," she promised Sara as raised thepalm of dust to her lips."Breathein deeply for me, Sara. This may sting a little."

For the second time in barely twenty minutes Sara had an enchanted powder blown into her face. This dose burned all the way down to her lungs and had her wheezing and coughing. She hoped it would worth it.

"Is that a cure?" Ellah inquired optimistically.

"Not exactly. That much undiluted tiger dust can't be stopped or unmade. What I can do is overpower it with something a little more potent. It will change her into something else but a something else that I can actually fix. Or at least that's the idea. Guess there is a chance this makes things worse in a wholly unexpected way... but one crisis at a time," the shopkeeper sighed. She had steppedback to give Sara room and now stood with Ellah watching to see if this would work.

Gradually the burning Sara felt cooled to a more evanescent sensation which washed out from her lungs and into her bloodstream. It permeated her whole body which hadn't slowed its initial transformation. Truly, her silhouette was nearly that of a tigress now. Sara worried the shopkeeper's well-intended plan had come too late.

The torrid physical transformationfelt like it was being drawn to a close, counter to the rapidly rising exhilaration the blue dust had triggered. It made Sara's head spin and forced eyes closed. However just as quickly as the dust's frigid magic spread, it rushed to recedefrom her head, limbs, and tail, condescendingwhat was left into an inert ball of ice somewhere deep in her gut.

Watching this caused the shopkeeper to becomecrestfallen. Behind her was Ellah, still nervously optimistic.

"How long will it take to know if that stuff worked?" Ellah asked pensively.

The shopkeeper sighed. "About one minute tops."

"One minute? Wasn't that, like, three or four minutes ago?" Ellah correctly pieced together after some thought.

"Sure was," confirmed the shopkeeper.

Hearing the conversation and feeling all the magics leave her Saraopened her eyes. What greeted her was the same sight of the tiger's nose, whiskers, and muzzle as last she saw. She went to see if the rest of her was the same way when the icein her gut melted, causing an unpleasant nausea. This spurred Sara up from her squat stance to a seated position justto start hacking violently. It seemed Sara couldn't catch a break.

"Oh no, oh no! Is she choking? Is she okay? Oh gosh I hope she's okay," Ellah babbled anxiously while tugging at the shopkeeper's dress.

The shopkeeper made no move to answer or help. She simply waited.

"I really hope she isn't choking," repeated a still fretting Ellah. "Is there aHeimlich maneuver for tigers? Should I Google that?"

"Don't worry. She almost has it up," remarkedthe shopkeeper.

Ellah gave her boss a puzzled look. "Get what out?"

Moments later she had her answer. Sara, her mouth roaring wide as she desperately heaved, finally choked up a roundish, pale blue object that had been giving her so much trouble. When Ellah leaned closer she noticed how much this object actually resembled an egg. Nearby a relieved Sara was just happy to be able to breath.

"Well drat. It didn'twork," sighedthe shopkeeper.

Ellah was about to ask what happened when large crack suddenly broke the object's surface. "Wait, is that a...?"

More cracks quickly formed until hatching out from the egg was a full grown Hyacinth macaw. And it came to life quickly, flapping its blue wings and fluttering up to the top of the nearest shelf. It went about cleaning its own feathers with no awareness of its curious, sudden birth.

"I'm sorry, Sara," began the shopkeeper as she knelt back down in front of the beleaguered tigress. "It was a bit of a long shot that one but it appears dose you got was too much, too quickly. I'm afraid that at least for the foreseeable future there is nothing I can do to reverse your transformation. You do still have your human mind, yes? No pain or discomfort of any kind?"

Sara took stock of her body and mind. The body, this new one, felt as natural to her now as her old one had been. Her mind also appeared to have remained unscathed with only the new awareness of things like her tail, claws, and improved senses of smell and hearing, among others. With nothing wrong with her, Sara looked at the shopkeeper and with a yawning roar tried to convey her overall wellness.

"That's good to hear at least. I promise I'll keep looking for something to reverse this but in the meantime I'll ensure you have proper accommodations. At least until I can find you a more permanent residence with other cats your size. I can't really have a tiger prowling around the premises all the time. Might scare off the more, prudish customers," chuckled the shopkeeper as she moved back behind her counter. "I can deal with a house cat, or rabbit, or a ferret, but a tiger is a bit too much at an in store pet. Ellah, dear, could you reach in that case I gave you and take out the collar."

"Sure thing," Ellah readily agreed as she dug into the case she was still holding.

"Then after you slip it on Sara's gorgeous new neck you can show her into the back. Give her the first spare room on the left for the time being. I'll start making some calls to see if any zoo, animal sanctuary, or a German baron wants another big cat," explained the shopkeeper while taking her address book out.

"First spare room? On the left? But, that's my room?" puzzled Ellah.

"It was, yes. But considering you're why Sara in her current situation, I think it's only fair she's given your room and bed for the foreseeable future. Wouldn't you agree, Sara?"

The question perked Sara's right ears up. She gave the shopkeeper an agreeable nod. Turning back to Ellah, Sara leaned into the assistant affectionately to show no hard feelings.

"Aww, I think she's open to having you as a roommate. Might even share the bed with you. How kind of her," smiled the shopkeeper.

"Share the bed? With those claws?" Ellah shivered.

"Try being more open to experiences, dear," the shopkeeper told her assistant then looked to Sara. "Just follow this bun to the back and she'll show you where you'll be staying. There you'll have a place to relax and gather your thoughts for a bit, Sara. You did come for a tiger transformation after all. Sorry it wasn't on the terms you wanted but look on the bright side, you got your change free of charge," she mentioned with a reassuring smile.

Sara nodded again at the shopkeeper in thanks for her best efforts, a place to stay, and everything else. She then padded off towards the back following a now cranky Ellah. "So I just have one little sneeze and now I'm out of a room? So unfair. I deserve my own place!" she griped.

Before the shopkeeper could answer the macaw whistled loudly then squawked, "Home is where the cage is!" followed by more whistling.

Ellah huffed angrily. "I will NOT be sleeping in a cage! I don't do that anymore!" she shouted at the bird. Not wanting to hear more, the assistant hustled into the back to show Sara to her new-old room.

The grand tour of the single bedroom space didn't take long and ended with two-hundred and forty pound Sara lounging on Ellah's queen sized bed. Along with all her comforters, pillows, and stuffed animals there wasn't much room left for the assistant. She might have tried to squeeze in but a call from the shopkeeper dragged her back to work. Likely for more punishment for turning another potential customer into an animal.

This left Sara alone at last with some time to reflect on what was her new life. She had no trouble forgetting about her old one and its struggles as a divine satisfaction set in as she reminded herself that she really did always want this. Things may not have gone down how she envisioned but glimpsing herself in one of the room's mirrors gave Sara such a sublime sense of euphoria. To know the tigress in the reflection was her made her excited, not fearful for the future.

She didn't care much if the shopkeeper could never reverse the changes. At least, not any time soon.
