"Alright ladies and gentlemen, Incubi and Succubi, brats of all ages...Today we are discussing the basics our class' primary subject, Dreams. The viewing, the influencing, and the direct manipulation of dreams." A blue avian Succubus teacher with a long yellow beak and a light feather sheen chirped cheerfully away at the front of the large oval classrom. The walls were dark blue with little white stars dabbled across them, perfect for a dream.

The student's seats were made of a fine wood and were similar to benches with desks stretched across a row. Many Cubi students sat still in various poses, from the model student's 'eyes forward-back straight' to the classic 'hold your head up by the chin' that defines many carefree spirits.

Among these students, three particular cubi, a black cat named Desho, a white cat named Faye sitting at his left and a red lizard named Rath to his right. The three perfectly suited the full range of students, Faye paying perfect attention with a smile, Desho trying to stay awake and pay attention, and Rath's mind lost in another dimension.

In the corner of her eye, Faye glanced to her right to see Desho falling off the edge of consciousness. She frowned and looked around the room nervously. She carefully scooted towards him. At the right distance, directly beside him, she pushed her elbow into his side. "Wake up Desho...Ms. Kree doesn't like people sleeping in her class."

With a grunt, Desho popped his eyes open and looked to Faye. "You should tell that to Rath," Desho motioned to his unconscious friend, "He's always the first one to pass out between the three of us."

Faye smirked, "Well he's our friend so we can't let him fail the course."

"Well from what I see, all three of you will be failing at this rate." Squawked the voice of Ms. Kree, suddenly behind Faye.

The white cat squirmed and blushed, "S-Sorry, Ms. Kree."

Desho scratched the back his head and nodded, a cold sweat formed on his brow. He then turned around to notice the still sleeping Rath. "Um...." The cat muttured incoherently.

"Shh..." The bird teacher hushed Desho and stepped beside him, the entire class watching with amusement. Standing over the sleeping Rath, the bird raised a feathery hand over the lizard's head. Soon, the teacher's eyes began to glow dully. A bright white light covered her irises while she held her hand over Rath's head, as if browsing through a book. She hummed quietly with a blank stare.

A silent minute passed before Rath stirred uncomfortably. His eyes popped open, "AH!" He gasped and nearly fell out of his seat. Among the giggling of the class, he tried to maintain his balance...only failing to when he noticed the teacher standing over him.

"So Rath...Your favorite color really is pink, who would have known?" Ms. Kree ginned with a sinister shadow as her eyes faded back to a normal sheen.

The whole class giggled, as if they were trying to hold back a full laughter out of some false modesty. "I...Eh...hmm...." Rath was struck dumb, helplessly looking up to his teacher from the the floor, like prey fallen victim to a predator.

"Hmm..." Ms. Kree snickered a bit smiled, "You also kissed a boy once as a dare...What a shame, he was a really hot stud."

At this point, the entire class was laughing and holding their sides. Desho was scratching his head and biting his tongue while Faye snickered, holding her paw over her mouth and trying not to laugh.

Poor Rath could only sit still, holding his knees with a scowl on his face.

"So...my young student, what did we learn?" Ms. Kree loomed over him like a bad omen.

Rath sighed and sat back in his seat, "Don't sleep in class and pay attention..." He growled.

"Correct!" She squawked happily. Strutting back to the front of the class, she continues, "Now students, how I learned those things about sleeping beauty up there was simply by viewing his dreams, you can learn a lot really fast that way." She crossed her feathery arms and tilted her head, "I was also responsible for him waking up, can anyone guess how?"

A blue furred bunny girl wearing a typical school girl outfit and large glasses raised her paw. Desho had seen her before, only talked to her a couple times but he knew her. Her name was Mira, a nerdy kind of girl who hid a dark passion for pranks behind her thick rimmed glasses. She never tried to hide it, she was just..."Multi-Talented" as she had described herself to Desho. She was perfect for her clan, Dimanika, the confusion clan.

"Did you manipulate him into waking up?" She asked with a hungrily sadistic grin.

"No I didn't Mira, I merely influenced him." Ms. Kree sat on her desk and crossed her thin legs wrapped up in laced up boots, "Let me explain to you the difference between Influencing and Manipulating a dream."

"A dream is a powerful thing, it may only be contained in a single individual's mind, but in that mind, the dreamer is all-powerful. Merely influencing such a powerful thing is preferrable to trying to change it by force. Compare it like you would compare a suggestion to a command and a powerful creature with a will of it's own that won't obey you. You have to make it agree with you, like where the dream will go or what the person thinks about. Take Rath for example, I merely suggested that he to go back to the memory of him kissing that hot boy, rather than commanding."

While more giggles came from the class and Rath looked like he wanted to kill someone, Desho just smirked.

Ms. Kree took a breath and leaned forward, her smile had faded and she shifted to a more serious tone, "For those of you who plan on dabbling within dreams, you must keep this in mind. Dreams are a very dangerous place, no matter the creature. If you try to fight the ocean, you'll only drown; Same concept works for directly manipulating a dream... So many things can go wrong in manipulation, a badly crossed memory, a secret that doesn't want to be found, even another ethereal monster; remember, we Cubi are not the only ones who can go into dreams. The punishment of such mistakes are usually unforgiving and are usually quite severe. Memory loss, Severe Mental injuries, and in some cases...Some Cubi have died in someone's dream."

The whole class silent, Desho thought that was probably what Ms. Kree wanted, to let them absorb the gravity of such a statement; even he himself felt a weight build in his gut. Despite the uncomfort, his mind brought about a question and he raised his hand, "Ms. Kree, what do you mean by 'a secret that doesn't want to be found'?"

"Hmm..." The bird rubbed her beak, "...I'm glad you brought that up. Unlike something physical, like chemistry and physics, in a dream; everything is unpredictable, undeterminable, and always have their own rules. So obviously, there are no actual facts on it...yet."

Ms. Kree stood up again and spread her arms, "In my opinion, a secret that doesn't want to be found is different from a secret that someone tries to hide or forget. It's as if the person's own subconscious locks it away for a reason, like for the very health of the person's existence, or something like a burnt book stored away, ruined information just sitting back and waiting to be recovered."

The teacher smiled, "But of course, that just my opinion...hmm..." Ms. Kree quickly paced around in a circle and raised a finger of inspiration, "Oh, I just thought of something! That'll be your first major assignment my students, your opinions on Dreams and their possible secrets, as well as methods of unlocking them...Let's discuss ideas..."

*RING BITCH!!* The school bell rang throughout the the school, signaling the end of the current period.

"What the crap? Class is over already? Alright students, think this over and I'll see you next time!" She announced with the glee of a schoolgirl...on crack.

Ms. Kree coughed and called out, "Mira, come here," as the class left the room.

The blue bunny approached her teacher, "Yes, Ms. Kree?"

The avian teacher reached within her coat pocket and pulled out a small vial of a mysterious liquid that constantly changed colors. "I want you to take this to the Professor to help him with his little 'project'." She handed it to the girl, "Be very careful with it. You know who the Professor is right? He's that really cute grey wolf with the blonde hair, that really sadistic cutie?"

"Oooh, that scary wolf guy who helps us get sorted out, yeah I know him." Mira grinned despite the cold chill of her somewhat traumatic experience with the Professor. "Ms. Kree?"

"What is it, Mira?"

"Are you still wanting to have your 'physical intimacy' with the Professor?" Mira asked in a teasing tone.

Ms. Kree gasped, "Shush, Don't say that out loud," She spoke hurriedly and giggled, "Now go deliver that so I can help and possibly get a chance."

The two women giggled childishly before Mira finally left the classroom.

"Ugh, thank the fates that's over," Rath groaned and hissed spitefully, "I can't believe she actually said all those secrets in front of the whole class..."

The trio walked casually through the halls towards the courtyard. The early summer attitude was beginning to pick up the attitudes of all the students at SAIA. Deafening chatter and most likely drama erupted all over the academy as the break slowly passed on by.

"Well you shouldn't have been sleeping, my beauty." Faye giggled and poked Rath's firm arm.

"Well, well Rath, I didn't know you used to be such a player. Was that your first kiss?" Desho scratched his chin with a smirk.

Rath gasped and blew a huff of frustration, "What do you mean 'used to be' and that kiss...was just some thing..."

In the Grand entrance hall, Faya and Desho loomed together over Rath, demonic tails and horns might as well have sprouted at that moment while they leered naughtily to hear more of Rath's 'encounter'.

"Hmm..." Rath mumbled and the three stepped out to the courtyard and made their way to the statue, a site that had become their usual meeting spot, the place where the three had first talked together all at once.

"Well since you two are so stuck on the subject of first kisses, tell me about yours." Rath sat and crossed his legs, his slithering tail wrapped around his waist.

Desho joined him and Faye sat between them, "My first kiss?" she asked.

"Yeah Faye, tell me about your first kiss!" Rath grinned and nodded.

"Um..." She smirked, tilted her head, and fidgeted around for a bit, "How about Desho! I wanna know about his first kiss."

"Huh?" His black and puffy tail swayed nervously and he blushed. Trying to hold a smile, he leaned back and looked at the clear summer sky. "Well...I..."

"Hm?" Faye and Rath hummed in unision, leaning towards him with child-like curiosity.

"Eh-heh...I haven't...had my first kiss yet..." Desho scratched the back of his head and coughed.

"Oh really!?" Rath nodded slowly, "What about you Faye, it's your turn."

The white cat smiled weakly and held her paws together, "Well...I haven't kissed anyone before either...I don't think so anyway."

"Oh wow!" The red lizard with glowing green eyes was taken aback and was genuinely shocked, "Hmm...." He rubbed his scaly chin and scratched his snout. "Oh hey I have an idea."

With the attention of the two cats, Rath smirked and gently nudged Faye, "You two should share your first kiss with each other and get it over with."

"H-Huh!? I..." Desho's heart skipped a beat and his face burned and he tried to look away from Faye's...adorable face. He held his sides and went silent.

The white cat Faye didn't say anything at all, but her face went the deepest shade of red and she smiled a nervous smile that might have broken her face. She giggled uncontrollably and held her paws to her face.

"Ah you're both shy but neither of you are prudes! Good news Desho, she said she hasn't kissed anyone before so now's your chance!" Rath leaned forward to get a better look, "At least, she says she doesn't think so."

Faye took a small breath and snickered, "W-Well u-um..." She coughed and cleared her throught, she shut her eyes and tried to focus, "That's...exactly the thing Rath...I don't know... I don't really know anything..."

Desho coughed as well and turned to her with a mysterious look, "What do you mean you don't know anything, you're really smart."

Faye blushed again but smiled sadly, "...No I mean. I don't remember anything."

Rath and Desho looked at each other and turned their sitting positions to face her, "You don't remember anything? Again...what do you mean?" Desho asked.

Faye sighed, "I guess I should explain myself to you two but don't tell anyone okay?"

The two nodded and focused on her.

"Well...I don't remember anything, like, nothing about my childhood or what I was like then." Faye sniffed and rubbed her nose. "I woke up some time ago with severe amnesia."

"Amnesia?" Rath rested his right elbow on his knee and held his head by his fist.

"That's right." She nodded and looked at the two, "About...I wanna say a year ago, I woke up in an isolated cabin in the mountains. I wandered around for a bit, it seemed that I was in some sort of ruined village and I was the only one there. I didn't know what to do so I stayed there, unaware of how to care for myself or even how to talk..."

"Really...? How did you end up at SAIA?" Desho asked.

"I'm getting there...It had been a day or so after I woke up when I was visited by something strange. It looked kind of like a floating glowing rat with a paper-like tail..."

Rath tilted his head, "A floating glowing rat with a paper-like tail? Was it a Warp-Aci?"

Faye nodded her head, "Yeah, it belonged to the Headmistress of SAIA, Fa'Lina. I know that becuase soon after I was discovered, Fa'Lina herself showed up and talked to me."

"What did you talk about?" Rath asked.

"Well, she just asked me who I was, what I was doing there...Fa'Lina really is an understanding Succubus, she caught on immediately that I had no memory. I think she may have saw something in me. I can't think of what though." Faye sniffed again, "Fa'Lina teleported us to her office here in the academy. She gave me clothes and talked to me some more..."

"Clothes huh?" Rath smirked again, "You were naked for a whole day in mountains?"

Faye giggled, "Oh yeah, you should have seen it, I was quite a sight."

"I'm sure Desho wishes he saw you...he may soon." Rath stuck his tongue at the distraught black cat.

"Wh-What!? I-I don't know what you're talking abo-SHUT UP, RATH!" Desho then pouted, trying not to smile.

The three Cubi started laughing together, teasing and gently shoving each other. They all smiled and calmed themselves down as they thought about Faye's memory loss. Desho wondered how she could have ended up in the mountains. "What happened to her memories?" He wondered,"Maybe I can help her find them someday..."

"So Fa'Lina adopted you? Taught you how to talk and all that jazz?" Rath queried.

"Yes. Well...It's not like she taught me, more like helped me remember. Ever since she found me, I've been living here. And that's basically it."

"Well Faye," Rath nodded, "That's a lot more interesting than my story of entering SAIA. I entered like most students; my parents recommended this place and helped me enroll here. I'm glad they did too, I like it here." He grinned, "Well, for my family, it's more like a requirement but it's basically the same."

Desho pictured in his head, Rath's parents, whatever they looked like, telling their hapless son "SAIA or GTFO!!".

"So, Emo Kitty, How about you?" Rath called to Desho attention, "Did your parents help you enroll here or what?"

Desho was silent. He dropped the humorous thought of Rath's parents and he felt his chest wrench up. He fidgeted a bit and looked away regrettably, his triangular ears drooping.

"Desho?" Faye leaned to him.

Desho kept a still face and bit his lip, in his mind, a painful truth was tearing up his insides and he was debating whether or not he should tell his friends. Question after question, he slowly wandered towards an answer. He bit his tongue and his mind heard a silent scream. A chill ran his spine and he faced his friends.

"They...didn't. They couldn't..." Desho muttered, just barely audible to his friends. He cleared his throat, he figured he should just tell them and get it out of the way, "My parents couldn't because they're dead."

Suddenly, just like that, they cheerful atmosphere seemed to fade, struck down by the statement and Desho felt like he was guilty of deliberately killing the mood.

Rath nodded and Faye was expressionless. "Damn, sorry about that Desho."

"Hey don't worry about it you two, you didn't know, now you do." Desho smiled and nudged Faye, who smiled back.

"Hmm..." Rath stood and stepped in front of the two, "So hey you two, like, 'insert a convenient excuse for me to leave the scene so you two can have some alone time' here."

"Um...What?" Desho tilted head.

"Alright, I'll see you at the field then." Rath nodded and then jogged off into the entrance hall.

Desho scratched his head before he looked to Faye, "So...About your memories?"

"Hm?" The white sundress wearing cat smiled and watched the black suited cat.

"Remember what we talked about in Ms. Kree's class...Think we could uncover your lost memories."

Faye sighed and frowned, "Desho, she also said that we shouldn't dabble in the subconscious of others..." She looked back to him and wore a weak smile, Please don't worry about it, it's probably better if we don't."

"Are you sure? I wouldn't mind risking it.'

"But Desho...If you ever got hurt...I could never forgive myself." Faye held her paws together and looked Desho straight in the eyes.

"Are you trying to make me happy?" Desho teased, "What is your emotional affinity anyway?"

"Hm...." Faye looked to the sky for a second before returning her gaze to Desho, "I don't know that either. I don't even know my clan....I don't have any clan marks anywhere on my body."

"Really? Hm..." Desho smiled and nudged her gently, "I really want to help you as much as I can. I'm always here for you Faye."

Faye blushed and smiled sweetly, "...Thank you, Desho." She titled her head cheerfully, "You really are adorable at times...."

"Is that so?" Desho nodded, "Does that earn me my first kiss?"

"Huh?" Faye gasped and blushed and smiled again, "I...I uh...hehhee."

Desho nudged her again, "Oh relax Faye, I was just kidding." He stood up in front of her, "So don't worry about it."

Faye calmed down and stood with Desho, "Well....If you say so, I guess you don't want that kiss then...."

"Huh!?" Desho gasped and blushed, "But I-I thought... You we're gonna..B-But...!?"

"Oh relax Desho, I was just kidding," She mocked him and giggled. "Now lets go to our next class!" She grabbed his paw.

"Um...alright then..." Desho walked along beside Faye as they held each other's hand to their next class.

Author's Comments:

This is a fan fiction of a wonderful webcomic known as Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures aka DMFA. It was created by Amber Panyko aka MissMab. The settings of SAIA, Furrea and the Cubi concept in general were all created by her. [www.missmab.com]

The only Orginal characters in this story are the main characters, Desho, Faye, and Rath.

This chapter actually turned out a bit longer than I expected. especially concerning the part about Dreams, I realized that it could end up being a huge soapbox so I tried ind a good spot to stop myself. A part of myself was saying, "Get to the point" while another part was saying "With no explanation, there is no point.

Well, this chapter does cover quite a bit of info so I tried. I'm sure the next ones won't be so long.

I Hope you all like it
