Upon reaching the gathering, Yineh made Kion sing with her once more as they made their way up.

Landing on a walkway, Yineh abruptly stopped singing a moment later when Kion peaked over the walkway, he saw Reteh and Vivica sitting bound and gagged in the middle of the walkway.

As Kion made his way onto the walkway, Yineh began rushing towards Reteh and Vivica, only to spin around at the sound of Mirra's voice coming from beside him.

Mirra: Explain to me why when I went to check up on you four there was no one on watch, an improperly tied knot, and worst of all, not a single signal whistle blown during an emergency situation?

Yineh: Well~ you'd have to ask--Viv about why no one was on watch... As for the other two... I could have sworn I checked all my knots thrice over.

Mirra: And the lack of whistle?

Yineh: Hey Ki-su, don't you have something you're supposed to tell Mirra-su?

```

As Mirra turned to face him, he immediately pulled her into a passionate kiss, which as soon as he started to break the kiss, Mirra wrapped her hand around his head and held him in place.

When she finally broke the kiss, the pair stared into each other's eyes for a moment before Mirra turned her attention back to Yineh.

Mirra: Tomorrow I'll take the four of you back to collect your tent during which we'll practice whistle calls.

```

Yineh sighed in relief as Mirra turned back to Kion and gave him a short playful kiss before jumping off the side of the walkway.

Yineh: So~ how was the dare?

Kion: S-she has a really long tongue.

Yineh: I know, right? It's hard for me not to be super envious, given how short mine is.

Kion: Can we untie the others now?

Yineh: *devious smirk* We could, or we could keep them this way for a while and have some fun. *perverted chuckling*

Yineh sighed in disappointment as Kion walked over to Reteh and untied her hands.

Yineh: Can we at least leave Viv tied up until I have some fun with her?

```

Yineh chuckled awkwardly as Reteh glared at her while she ungagged Vivica.

Vivica: *relieved sigh* Sorry about this everyone... I don't know what happened. I don't normally just fall asleep like that.

Reteh: *annoyed* It's my fault too.

Vivica: No, it's just mine. I told you it was fine to rest your eyes for a moment.

Reteh: But I shouldn't have been selfish. We're always supposed to do watch in pairs.

Vivica: Yes, but this wasn't supposed to be training... I thought it would be fine to be a little more casual.

Reteh: We have to remember that everything is always training. Especially as we were still in the wild.

Yineh: *affirmative nodding* No one ever said it wasn't training. After all, I picked the Ojeri to help Re-re get over her fear of heights, since I knew she was so spaced out and wasn't paying any attention.

Reteh: *stunned* Y-you noticed that?

Yineh: It was hard not to notice. *raspberry* Speaking of noticing things, you seem to be struggling pretty hard with Viv's bindings.

Reteh: *nervous* I can't seem to figure out how this knot works. I've never seen anything like it before.

Yineh: *contemplative hum* I think I've seen it somewhere before... but I'm not a knot person... evidently I may need to fix that, though. I really could have sworn all my knots on the tent were perfect.

Vivica: Did you check the preset knots, too?

Yineh: *facepalm* No... I just checked mine... totally forgot to check the preset ones, and now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure that was one of the tents we used for knot practice a couple moons ago and not one setup by a senior.

Reteh: Ki, can you help?

Kion nervously approached Vivica and quickly realized that her bindings were immensely more complicated than Reteh's had been.

After a few long moments of silent study, he took a deep nervous breath.

Kion: W-would you mind if I moved you so I could see what's under your tail?

Vivica: *heavy sigh* Don't tell me you're another Yi-su?

Kion: T-that's not it... I-I just need to follow the rope down. I haven't figured out this binding yet... I could cut the rope instead.

Vivica: Absolutely no cutting the rope. If it's complicated, that means this is an intentional test by Mirra-su. Go ahead and move me around as needed and explain to me what you see.

Kion explained what he saw to Vivica in great detail, who then instructed him to grab the green whistle out of her pocket and blow it. A moment later, Mirra reappeared.

Mirra: At least one of you managed to remember you carry signal whistles for a reason.

Vivica: You know why the whistle was blown.

Mirra: Having trouble with my puzzle knot? *knowing smile*

Kion: *affirmative nod*

Mirra: There's a solution to the knot, but I didn't intend for you to figure it out.

Vivica: So then it was a test to see if we'd use a whistle?

Mirra: *affirmative nod* *pleased smile* *devious grin*

Vivica: I don't like that smile.

Mirra: I'll untie you before we leave to gather up the tent tomorrow. Until then, Kion, you're in charge of taking care of her. Make sure not to leave her alone for long.

Kion: *dumbfounded stare*

Mirra: And no delegating to others. You personally are required to help her with--everything she needs.

Vivica: Y-you can't be serious.

Mirra: Don't worry, I've left Isalla in that binding well over a day many times. It's well tested for comfort.

Yineh: *epiphanic* That's where I've seen that knot before!

Kion watched in disbelief as Mirra leaned backwards off the side of the walkway.

Yineh: Don't worry, she's fine, she does that--all the time.

Kion: I-I see...

Vivica: I'm curious. What has Kylola-su and Eldric told you about Mirra-su?

Kion: Not much. They have always said that it would be better for me to get to know her and everyone else first-hand.

Reteh: What's your impressions of people thus far?

Kion: *contemplative stare* That's hard to put into words, especially as I only feel like I know Yineh... I mean Yi-su. Which I would best describe as the freest and most fun-loving person I've ever met... *awkward chuckle*

Vivica: *disheartened sigh* Sorry about that...

Kion: Sorry for what?

Vivica: Being the reason you didn't get to know Re-re or myself better.

Kion: It's not you-

Vivica: Yes, it is. I've been nothing but a stick in the mud all day.

*long silence*

Kion: So~ what do we do now?

Yineh: W~ell, I guess me and Reteh go to bed, and you deal with this. *awkward laughter* Mirra-su was pretty clear we're not supposed to help.

Vivica: Suppose in that case, Kion, just pick me up and take me to your room.

Kion: My room?

Vivica: Yeah, she said you can't leave me alone for long, which means she expects you to be nearby, and my room is a little messy right now.

```

Kion looked over Vivica for a few moments, not sure how to pick her up.

Vivica: I'm not going to bite.

Kion: *awkward laughter*

```

Kion lifted Vivica up and carried her over his shoulder like Eldric had done with him once when he twisted his ankle. Upon entering the trainee residential building, he froze in place as Lina stared at him.

Vivica: What's going on? Why'd we suddenly stop?

Kion: This is probably not what it looks like.

Lina: Uh-huh...

```

Kion watched nervously as Lina awkwardly opened the door to her room and walked in.

Vivica: She's got the entirely wrong idea about this.

Kion: How do you know?

Vivica: I can hear her talking to herself... She's having a hard time deciding if she's aroused or creeped out... *contemplative hum* Now she's doing something I probably shouldn't mention.

Yineh: *knowing smile* Something tells me she's going to be fun to get to know.

Vivica: One of the weirdest things to unintentionally listening in on people talking to themselves is that I don't often hear the whole conversation since people tend to jump between talking out loud and in their heads. That said, a lot of people talk really loudly in their heads too, so if I'm sitting right next to them I can sometimes hear both sides.

Kion: Interesting... I haven't ever been around people who talk to themselves ... that I know of.

Vivica: You certainly don't seem to, even being right next to your head like this. I haven't heard you talk to yourself about anything. So~ not to change the topic, but I kind of need to use a pot before we go to bed...

After helping Vivica in the pot room Kion assisted her with several other personal things before laying her down in his sleeping mat and taking a place next to her.

Vivica: Itch behind the left ear, please.

Kion scratched behind Vivica's left ear gently.

Vivica: *relieved sigh* Thank you.

*long silence*

Vivica: You ever have problems falling to sleep in the middle of the night?

Kion: Often when the moon's full, I wake up in the middle of the night and have a hard time getting back to sleep.

Vivica: I hear full moons are the worst for that. They don't really affect me much, but everyone else goes through the normal routine.

Kion: How do full moons work here? Growing up, Eldric always took me out camping every full moon in order to avoid being around my mothers and sisters.

Vivica: It's pretty common for guys to vanish during full moons to avoid girls even amongst the rammu. You'll probably be invited to go camping with Wafit and Demoron during them. Wa-su sometimes sticks around, but usually only if Yi-su's forcing him somehow. Which you should probably watch out for. *awkward chuckle* Our code of conduct doesn't allow her to force you to do anything, but still ... she can have that effect, of course almost any girl can.

Kion: Just so you know, she hasn't forced me into anything. She's just encouraged me to be true to myself. Which is new to me.

Vivica: Which is good, I think. Guess I'll stop rambling and try and fall asleep again. *long deep breath*

Kion: Alright... Sorry I'm not better conversation. I've never been good at getting to know others.

Kion stared off feeling like he should say something more, but drifted off to sleep before he could think of anything else to say.
