#4 of Revelations

(same yadda yadda as usual. So just don't steal my work. All characters and the dryeena species belong to me, though I do give permissions to artists and writers to use said species, as long as I get to know in advance, and credit goes to me.)

A black creature slowly stumbled down the steps, off balance as it's wings adjusted for their first time. The creature had a dazed, sadden look to it, long round ears drooping to its side before the creature hit the bottom step. It looked up, a glow in very familiar red eyes, as it tried to cross the room, completely off balance before falling flat in the kitchen. It looked up at the patched chameleon. Gazing in her eyes with a new look of disgust and fury. The creature began to growl, it's tail whipping behind it.

Rain stood up, walking over to the creature and began to chuckle, petting its wings, moving down to kiss the creature, looking up, a slight grin to her snout. "So it is true then, you are one of them,"Rain spoke, moving her claw down the creature's back laughing gently, "Elizabeth, your kind will rise again, trust me on this." Rain sat back, helping Eli back to a stable position.

Eli began to speak, the vocal cords that the soft furred creature was accustomed to was no more, replaced with a higher pitched set, giving off Eli's new age, "I'm.. what have you done to me! I'm not a hyena anymore.. I'm.. not even female anymore!!" Eli screamed out, pressing against a bulge against the sheets that surrounded Eli's crotch, "you made me male!"

"Both dear," Rain smiled, pressing a finger against Eli's crotch, sending a streak of pleasure through other's being, proving Eli still had Eli's female parts, "your a hermaphrodite now. Yet. All of your kind are. Your a rare breed my dear, your a dryeena."

Elizabeth stood, showing Rain a side of Eli that Eli was known for, blind furry, "Why in hell would you think I'm one of these! I was born a hyena after all!, "Eli became even more enraged, "How the hell did you even do it! Why! What!, " the creature calmed a bit, "what would people say, 'oh look at her."

"Hir." Rain spoke, looking at Eli, "have some pride in what you are, your not a he, your not a she, your a hermaphrodite and they go by shi." Rain turned taking a sip of the coffee in front of her. "Now the drink I gave you last night, was not really a drink, for you see, " Rain then motions Eli into a seat, her voice getting deeper as she spoke, a hint of anger in the way she was saying things, "the world has some elements that have long since forgotten by most, and those who do know of them, want them to be kept a secret, for they fear a return of the dryeena." Rain looked up at Eli again, grabbing hir paws and embracing them tight in her own, "but your here now Elizabeth, and your the resolution to bring back the worlds true form. To save all creatures from the slow void the world is coming to"

Eli began to shake, for what shi had known of the world in hir short 20 years on the planet, shi had seen so much pain. Nuclear war, disease after life killing disease and worst of all, the shortage of life that the planet had begun to show, large lifeless areas patched the earth, all visible from space as the world began to kill itself. Yet, if the way Rain had spoke of the world once was was true, then there might be hope, though, all that had left hir mind as it switched to another topic, "Hir? Shi? That's... just stupid. Refer to me as a female, as I was born."

Rain looked at Eli in a state of shock, all this new information Rain had given Eli, and shi was concerned about the soundings of a gender, "how can you even think of that? You can save the world and your concerned with how to express a pronoun?" Rain sat back, a saddened expression on her face as she turned to Eli, "I'll call you as I see fit, and you are a dryeena, and thus deserving us the correct pronoun usage. As it was the way your species presented itself."

Eli looked up at her, before shaking hir head, "still sounds retarded." Eli looked up and toward the right, the kangaroo that had been at the table eating a bowl of oatmeal, unphased by what was just spoken, "You knew didn't you. How could you let her do that to me."

The 'roo stood up, walking behind Eli slowly, grabbing the tail of the long creature, squeezing it tightly, "I would be very happy if you do not speak to my mistress like that Miss Eli." Jacob squeezed a bit tighter, but stopped suddenly, a small metal ball had hit him upside the head.

"You will not hurt hir," Rain had spoken, making sure her pet had heard her. "You know quite well with what this child means to our way of life, for shi will save us all very soon, as shi can sniff out the lurking, and reawaken the dryeena in the world."

"Don't call me hir, "Eli spoke, turning away from Rain, getting used to the new wings and tail on her body, the weight balancing evenly now, "and I am not a child, I'm Twenty fucking years old!" Eli sat back now, shaking and moving the tail under hir twitching faster, hir mind building the communications to use the new appendages.

"Dear, you keep bringing up these things that have little point in our discussion, yet, I guess I can tell you anyway, " Rain smiles, petting Jacob's ear, his head brushing against her claws, "Dryeena age slower than the rest of the world, for you are still twenty, but to a dryeena, your still just a seven year old. Now then, back on."

"I'm a child again?! Why would you make me go through that once more! I hated puberty, and hated being child. " Elizabeth interrupted Rain once more, wanting to know more about hirself before going on with the rest of the things Rain had to talk about.

"Yes dear, that is exactly correct. That is also the reason your so short once again, You have a lot of growing to be an adult dryeena. Though, your already passed puberty, dryeena reach that stage of life at the age of five, though it's very young, it does serve to help the species." Rain stopped, before looking at Eli again, "Anything else you want to know before I continue?"

Eli looked up at Rain, then down at Jacob, before looking back at Rain again, "I have wings now.. does that mean I can fly?" Eli began to giggle, shi was getting very excited now, "and my tail; why is it so long; and how come everything so much louder than it was the night before; and why are we herms; and, well, no that's all I can think of."

Rain, looked puzzled at the quizzical young creature in front of her, yet laughed out at Eli's sudden craving for knowledge. "Well.. I'll tell you everything I know of the species, for, before you, they haven't been around for six hundred years. I can only say it must have been some evolutionary advantage to be a hermaphrodite, but I can't totally explain it. Your ears, are sort of like a bat's, though they should be a lot stronger than that of a bat's. You should be able to listen for miles away. Though this has some disadvantages though, for your ears are very sensitive to touch, in both good and bad ways."

As Rain spoke, Eli began to feel hir ears, wondering if what Rain said was true. Though as soon as shi touched one, a huge amount of sensory data came out from the ear to hir brain, causing hir to cringe at what felt like a normal touch. Shi got curious, and began to scratch hirself, shaking at the small amounts of pleasurable activities amplified by the nerve endings in hir ear.

Rain smiled, laughing a bit as Eli played with hirself, before continuing once again, "Dryeena are dragons, dear, not mammals. They do resemble that of a hyena, but are in no way related to the species. To tell you the truth, it's just a coincidence that you slept in the form of a hyena, there are many others in different shells that call themselves a member of the shell's species. If that makes sense."

"So.. your saying that there are others in other species you can turn into dryeena?"

"If.. that is how you want to put it." Rain continued to scratch Jacobs ear, he had fallen asleep listening to them. " Now, dryeena can indeed fly dear, but you might have a bit trouble getting off the ground, your wings shouldn't be that much more developed than a toddlers. Your tail is there mainly for balance, but it also, or as my texts tell me, be the strongest part of your body, yet, I am not entirely sure about that. Now anything else? Or can I continue."

"Yes you may."

"Thank you." Rain sat up, closing her eyes as if to help recollect the memories, "Now then, you have a very large role to follow, for the dryeena had once controlled this world. This was because they were the only species to be able to tap the worlds magic naturally, and used this to make it flourish. The other sentient creatures found ways to tap it also, and for the most part helped the dryeena create the word. Most dryeena are noble, yet they can be taken as a very stubborn race, they always thought they knew what was right, not letting anyone else give suggestions. They in general did have the right idea, but this had always led to feuds, and eventually to an uprising by the other species. A few select people had taken there artificial magic and cast the dryeena into a sleeping state, and wiping the rest of the world's memories of them. Locking the secrets of the magic within the group. Eventually, the world started to die out without the magic's influence, and that's why I found you."

Eli sat back, taking in the new information, before looking at Rain again, "then, how is it that you know of the dryeena, and all this other stuff." Shi tilted hir head, looking up at Rain once more, smiling, as if proving a point.

Rain chuckled, looking at Eli, "Though they tried to get rid of them all, some books survived the ordeal, and I discovered them at a very early age. I have been reading them for a while, and have learned about your kind, as well as how to control and run the magics of the world."

Eli looked up at Rain, a very large smile on hir face as shi heard the word magic, thinking that's what Jacob had done to get home so fast. Hir long tail began to wave furiously as shi sat there the new curiosity in hir eyes as shi screamed out, "Teach me Magic Miss Rain!"

Rain smiled, before kissing Jacob's ear, waking hir pet from his deep slumber. Shi helped him to his feet, laughing a bit, before whispering in his ear, "looks like shi wants to help now."

Eli's ear twitched, easily picking up what had been said with hir new ears, growling as shi spoke in a deep angry tone, "Do not call me hir."
