Heated Vacation By Blissey & Grey Daze "Woohoo! You go, Ember!" shouted a pink dragoness seated atop her over large tail. The blue dragoness in question could only grin in response to the encouragement, focused as she was on keeping control of the polished slab of obsidian she was barreling down a lava flow on. Lava boarding was a popular pastime in the dragonlands, and formerly Princess now Dragonlord Ember was one of the best. Her brows knit together in concentration as she saw a rocky protrusion jutting out from the middle of the lava flow just ahead. Most dragons would swerve to one side or the other to avoid it and the good ones would barely lose any speed in doing so. But Ember was more than just 'good'. A grin overtook her face as she increased her speed and aimed straight for the protruding rock. She tilted her obsidian board back just moments before connecting with the rock so, instead of being sent flying off of her board, her board instead launched off the rock into the air with her on it. She flew through the air on her board and, with a skilfull shifting of her body mass and a flick of her wings, went into a spin, doing a full four rotations in the air before coming back down onto the lava flow, sending some molten magma splashing up into the air around her. Ember let out a triumphant shout as she aimed her board towards the edge of the lava flow and jumped off onto solid ground, quickly grabbing her obsidian board out of the lava as she did so. She turned to look at the other dragoness approaching her. "So what did you think of that, Ballista?" "That was super awesome!" Ballista replied. "That was amazing!" came a third voice from above, startling both of the two young dragons. The pair looked up to see a strange blue and purple colored griffon coming down to land beside them. "That was the most impressive thing I've seen since I've been here!" he said. Ember was more than a little annoyed at having this random stranger just drop in on them, but she kept her mind on what she had learned from Spike and the ponies and kept her temper under control. "And you are?..." she asked. "My name is Gyro Feather!" the gryphon said, holding out a claw that Ember shook after a moment's hesitation. "It's... nice to meet you!" Ember replied, doing her best to be polite. "I'm... Ember!" she said, deciding to leave off her title. "And what exactly brings you to the Dragonlands?" "I'm seeing all of Equestria!" The gryphon replied excitedly. Great Ember thought to herself, a tourist. Despite her growing annoyance, she tried to maintain her positive attitude. "Really? And how is it going so far?" "It's great!" Gyro Feather replied. "I've seen all of Equestria, visited the deserts and cities of Saddle Arabia, and the reformed changeling hive in the Badlands!" "Wow, that sounds pretty impressive!" Ballista said. "It does!" Ember added. "And now you're here, huh? So..." Ember couldn't help but keep an anticipatory grin off of her face, "what do you think of the dragon lands so far?" "It's..." the gryphon's grin slowly morphed into a frown, "honestly very boring. Nothing but rocks, mountains, and lava." Ember had to fight very hard to keep her grin turning into a scowl. The gryphon was admittedly right; the dragonlands were rather desolate. That didn't make it sting any less to hear her homeland insulted in such a way. She suppressed a growl rising in her throat before she responded. "It... is admittedly kind of empty..." "But that thing you just did," the gryphon continued, "was fantastic! Almost made the trip out here worth it!" That assuaged some of Ember's pride; she couldn't help but puff her chest out a bit. "Why thank you!" Gyro's next words caught both of the dragonesses completely off guard. "I want to try it myself!" They both stared incredulously at the gryphon. "What?" Ballista said finally after a moment. "I said I want to try lava boarding!" the gryphon repeated with a confident grin. "You know you're not a dragon, right?" Ember said, a claw pointed at the gryphon.. "If you fall off the board and hit the lava, you're done for!" "Please, I won't fall off the board!" Gyro replied, now puffing out his own chest. "We gryphons have the natural grace of felines!" Ember internally warred with herself over whether or not to let the gryphon risk it's life for a sport. She stared at the gryphon long enough to make him start feeling uncomfortable until she finally replied. "Alright, fine." She turned back to Ballista and handed the other dragonesses her obsidian board. "Ballista, get my board ready for our guest." The pink dragonesses gave Ember a questioning look but took the board anyway. The three of them all flew back up to to top of the lava flow and Ballista came down into the lava directly, entering the glowing hot substance like it was only water. She held the board in place floating on the lava's surface and looked back at Ember and Gyro. Ember in turn looked to the gryphon. "Well? Your board is ready!" Gyro smirked as he took to the air, but his confidence quickly started to wane as he went out over the lava and felt the sweltering heat emanating from it. He alighted upon the board of obsidian which wobbled slightly atop the lava even with the dragonesses holding it, eliciting a quiet but startled squawk from the gryphon. A part of Ember, a part of her she had only recently developed thanks to Spike and his pony friends, told her that she should offer the gryphon the chance to back out gracefully. But the gryphon's attitude grated against her so she merely smirked and said "What's wrong? Having any second thoughts?" "N-no! Everything is fine!" Gyro replied. The gryphon was sweating, and not just because of the immense heat coming from the lava. He looked forward, gazing over the downhill lava flow before him and gulped noisily. He gave another glance at Ember, who only grinned and held up her thumb. Gyro let out a quiet but worried piaoow as he looked back at the lava flow before him. He finally glanced back at Ballista and nodded. The pink dragonesses let go of the board which slowly started drifting forward. Ember took to the air to better watch and follow the gryphon. Gyro let out another startled squawk as the board hit the slope and started picking up speed. To Ember's surprise, the gryphon was actually handling himself fairly well. He seemed to be balanced and his talons/claws gave him a good grip on the board. Despite the gryphon looking terrified, she was actually mildly impressed. She picked up speed to keep pace with Gryo as he sped down the lava flow. Ember suddenly saw Gyro's eyes bug out of his head. Ember looked forward and there up ahead was that rocky protrusion sticking out of the lava. That rock was surprisingly difficult to swerve around. More than a few dragons failed to avoid it and were thrown of their boards into the lava, much to the amusement of any onlookers. They just got back out and usually tried again. That clearly wasn't going to be an option for this gryphon; he wouldn't be climbing back out if he fell in. Time seemed to slow down for Ember as she watched the board hit the rock and go flying into the air, throwing the gryphon off towards the lava. Without even thinking, Ember darted towards the falling, screeching gryphon with a twist of her wings. She impacted Gyro moments before he could hit the lava, hard enough to throw the both of them to the other side of the lava flow and to solid ground. The two of them went rolling after impacting the ground, the gryphon clutched in Ember's claws. As they came to a stop, Ember released her charge and slowly stood up. "Jeez, I just knew this would happen..." she said, he mood quickly worsening as she wondered why she allowed the gryphon to try lava surfing. Her only response was a groan from below followed by a panicked squawk. "NOOOOOOO my tail! My tail feathers are on fire!" Ember glanced down and, sure enough, some of the griffon's large purple tail feathers were on fire. "Oh, for crying out loud!" the dragoness cried out, wondering what else could go wrong. She tried helping put the fire out, a process made difficult by Gyro's flailing about. "Hold still, damnit!" Ember shouted, her mood going from bad to worse. Ember finally managed to pin the gryphon and stomp out the fire on his tail, not that the gryphon was at all appreciative. "My tail! My beautiful tail!" the distressed gryphon cried out with a sad piaoow as he cradled end of his tail, the large purple feathers now unrecognizable between the burning and the stomping. "Look what you've done to my tail!" Ember could only glare incredulously down at the gryphon. "What I've done?" she asked, her temper quickly growing. "Yes, you!" Gyro said, glaring right back at Ember. "You didn't have to stomp on it like that, you brute!" A low growl started emanating from Ember's throat. "I just saved your life and all you care about it you stupid tail? You dumb bird!" "How dare you!?" Gyro indignantly replied. "I am not a bird, I am a gryphon!" "That's it!" Ember snapped, and grabbed the gryphon off the ground, effortlessly hoisting him into the air. "Right now, you're just looking like food." The anger faded from Gyro's face in an instant. "W-what!? You can't eat me, you signed a treaty with Equestria!" "Yeah, I signed a treaty with the ponies, a treaty that didn't say anything about stupid annoying birds!" Ember opened her mouth wide and only gave Gyro time for one last terrified squawk before shoving him headfirst into her maw. Ember wasted little time, quickly swallowing down the source of her aggravation, her throat bulging out with the gryphon's head and then shoulders. She didn't bother to even taste her guest turned meal. Shoulder and then torso vanished down her gullet as she physically shoved the bird down as much as she was swallowing. "Oh wow, guess you finally had enough of him, huh?" Ballista said as she finally joined Ember. Ember didn't respond, mouth full as it was with half a gryphon. She only continued shoving the offending creature down her throat, her belly swelling outwards with its live meal. Already panicked, terrified squawking could be heard coming from within her gut. Only Gyro's felines flanks and tail remained now, and both of those were sucked down with amazing rapidity. Ember slurped up the last bit of tail and gave one final swallow, sealing the gryphon's fate. "Yeah, stupid bird got upset at me for saving his life," Ember replied as she let out a satisfied sigh. "This almost makes up for how annoying he was, though!" she said as she patted her now very large and bulging gut, feeling the frenzied struggling of the gryphon within. "Heh, don't worry, you won't have to be in such a panic for too long," she said to the bulge in her gut, "dragon stomachs are made for processing gemstones, so mine should work through you pretty quickly." This information only resulted in even louder screeching coming from her gut. "Oh wow, he's a fighter!" she exclaimed as a burst of movement threatened to knock her off of her feet. She glanced back at the nearby lava flow and a smirk spread across her face. "I think I know the perfect way to tire him out, though!" Gyro struggled in a fashion he'd consider valiantly, but It was ultimately worthless in the face of Ember's annoyance. He barely had to process what had happened before His beak smashed into the bottom of her stomach, splashing his face with some Terrible juices that reeked of sulfur and felt like fire in his lungs. He thrashed as best he could while so thoroughly trapped, throwing the dragon-liquids violently around, and felt a hard impact in return, but definitely wasn't any less doomed. He could barely hear the voices of those savage aggressors over his own, admittedly ignoble, squawking, but he didn't like the tone he was picking up. His whole coat felt heavy and matted from the unpleasant coat of fluids, but meer discomfort was replaced very suddenly by a tingle, then a burn as his feathers and fur fell out in clumps. His panicked whaling increased an octave from the reality of being digested. Ember walked the short way back to the lava flow and stepped into the molten magma. She let out a delighted sigh as she sunk down into the glowing hot lava will the majority of the bulge in her gut was submerged. Ballista quickly joined Ember in the lava. "Ooooh, good idea! The heat should tire him out!" Things immediately got worse when he heard what felt like a splash and felt a sudden heat spike in the already oven-like insides of the incredibly rude dragon. His squalling began to die down as he noticed how much his lungs hurt, no matter how much more he wanted to cry once he started to cook. He hacked violently from the stress his lungs has been under, and deep red flecks coated his, mostly bare and pink, meat. The caustic gases was finally quieting him down. "That's what I'm hoping," Ember replied. Indeed, the movement of the bulge in her midsection was already slowing down, the combination of intense heat from the lava and burning acid taking its toll on the gryphon within her. "You know what else would help?" Ember asked as she looked to Ballista, "some belly rubbing!" "Of course!" Ballista happily replied, "Anything for my dragonlord!" The pink dragoness swam out in front of Ember and began kneading the lump of a gryphon in Ember's midsection. "Ember," Ballista asked, "would you really have avoided eating him if he was a pony?" "Probably not," Ember replied, "but I'm pretty sure no pony would have been as obnoxious as that... Ahhh, that's the stuff~" she said as she sunk a bit deeper into the lava. The struggling in her gut had already almost slowed to nothing, and the terrified screeching and squawking and died down to feeble, pained piaoows. More pressure was put on him as if the dragon had laid on her stomach, or was being pushed in, but he couldn't really tell what was going on anymore. Everything hurt so deeply it became hard to actually feel much of anything at all. His tail flicked weakly and he was numbly aware that it felt shorter now. His breath had fallen shallow once his lungs had been softened up enough to be filled with more of his own juices than the savage gas. "Man, you can really feel him softening up!" Ballista said as she eagerly kneaded her dragonlord's gut. She was getting more rigorous with her ministrations, when suddenly one push resulted in a wet, meaty sounding CRUNCH and one final, blood curdling screech, then the bulge in Ember's gut went silent save for gurgling noises. Just once more he tried to lift a claw, but he felt something snap inside him that made his limb stop listening all together as it laid in the deeply crimson and viscous mess her stomach had become. Suddenly, a big push came into him, and he crumbled beneath it. The last of his energy went into a final useless cry of denial as his rib cage caved in on itself as if it was made of clay. His awareness faded as most of him was suddenly displaced by what was no more than a gentle shove. "Oops, I think I broke him," was all Ballista could say for herself. "Eh, it's fine," Ember replied, "he was going to get broken pretty soon anyway." A particularly loud gurgle resulted in Ember opening her mouth and letting out a large, wet belch. A large blue wet feather came flying out and fell to the lava where it immediately caught fire and burned to ash in only moments. "Neat!" was Ballista's only response. "So do you still need me here, or..." "Naw," Ember said, waving her off. "You go have some more fun lava boarding. I'm just going to watch from here while I process the rest of this," she said as she patted the still sizable but no longer moving bulge in her gut. "Awesome!" Ballista replied, and the two spent the rest of the day like that, Ballista practicing her lava boarding while Ember continued melting down the rest of that obnoxious griffon. At the end of the day ember was regretting her decision. Not so much because she'd murdered a prick, but more because the prick has thoroughly upset her stomach. She hurried away from her company while holding her freshly extended gut To find a pillar to squat behind, but wasn't going to make it that fair. With a mildly pained grunt, a torrent of liquidy dragon waste escaped her directly into a conveniently located lava flow, incinerating as quickly as it came. But it still came copiously. Ember never noticed the odd purple and blue streaks in her waste, and neither would anyone else as the ungrateful shit was thoroughly eradicated from existence and forgotten.
