"MVS stands for Maser Vibration System. Maser stands for Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Lacyus pushed the activation stud. There was a crackling around the sword as it powered up, then it stopped. He frowned

They stopped when the saw a black wall of shadows form itself in the air.

They got to the fight and saw the Phins in a rough circle around Lacyus and Sunset, who were going at it. Lacyus was simply standing in a single place, using shadow shields to fend off Sunset's attacks. Mira pushed through the crowd, absolutely mad. Feydra caught her arm.
"Relax. They're only sparring."
Mira relaxed. Lacyus actually yawned; he seemed so bored. Sunset was furiously trying to circumvent his defenses using ball after ball of light to try and break the shields.

Sunset struggled a bit more. "You can put me down now."
Lacyus concentrated for a moment. "I've lost control of them... Odd...."

Lacyus whacked the tentacles with his free arm. "They're not responding!"
Sunset clenched her eyes shut. "It's starting to hurt." She began wheezing. "I can't breath. My leg.... Its-"
There was a sickening cracking noise and Sunset screamed.

Sunset woke up, dizzy from something. Something warm was stroking her head. She opened her eyes and saw that she was in her room at Mira house. Lacyus sat beside her, tears rolling down his face.
"What's wrong Lacyus?" She mumbled.
He gasped and laid down beside her, hugging her tightly. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He was actually sobbing.

"I need to learn more about my own power. But I need to do it with a teacher or something. Somewhere where I can't hurt you."
Mira opened the door. She saw Lacyus and walked over and sat beside him "What's wrong?"
"He's scared he'll kill me." Sunset explained.
Mira stroked his neck. "You won't do that. If anything, I'll stop you before you get the chance."
Lacyus nodded. "I heard of a Shadowdragon temple in the west. I'm gonna go study there. Alone."
Sunset stared in horror. "You're breaking up with me?"
"No no. I love you dearly. I've promised you my life and I will give it to you. I just need some time to study on my own."
Sunset nodded sadly. "So when do you leave?"
"Tomorrow."
Mira got up. "I'll pack your bags and leave you two alone." She left the room.
"Are you still scared?" Sunset asked.

There was a whistle as the steam train pulled into the station. Lacyus gently released her and kissed her. He boarded the train and that was the last they saw of him.
