Playing dead

Another spin-off of my MHU series.

In this one, a poor opossum is subjected to a cruel game.

I'm not sure about this one but I thought I should release it anyway. Enjoy.

Jackson's heart was beating faster than the young opossum thought it ever could without an annoying reflex kicking in, each beat thundering in his ears louder than any drum. Accepting the invitation to go to an afterparty party had seemed like a good idea right up until the point Jackson needed to actually attend it. Why had he told that badger yes? It wasn't like Jackson was a particularly extroverted opossum, he hadn't really ever been to a party before the one for Freshers earlier that evening and by the end of it Jackson wasn't too stoked about having to go through it again for a second time only a few minutes after the last one ended.

Despite his heart's thumping, Jackson takes a breath and knocks on the red wooden door to the house the badger, Nolan, the opossum seems to remember his name being, had told him to go to in town. 'You could have just gone back to your dorm and went to bed. Why am I doing this?' Before the opossum can second guess himself any more, the red door opens and the imposing figure of Nolan stands in the open doorway.

"Hey! Hey! Great to see you....Jackson......?" Jackson gives a nod to tell the badger he's gotten his name right. "Cool, a few people are already here so come on in and mingle while we wait for everyone else." The badger steps to the side and motions Jackson to come inside, the opossum avoiding looking too much at Nolan as he makes his way through the doorway and into the badger's house. Nolan rests his arm around the back of Jackson's neck in an attempt to be friendly, "Beer and things are in the mini-fridge so feel free to take any you want, just make sure not to get too drunk before things get going for real." Jackson jumps quite a bit at the badger's action but settles himself by taking another deep breath. Nolan guides Jackson through into what the opossum assumes is the kitchen, a large sitting room adjoined to it making the entire space far larger than most single rooms Jackson had ever seen. Jackson's eyes jump quickly from each person in the room, a fox, a rat, a penguin, and a reindeer, all engaging in conversation amongst themselves. "This is Jackson," Nolan tells everyone. "Go ahead and introduce yourself a little more, Jackson." Nolan says as he removes his arm from Jackson.

"Oh um....hi, I'm Jackson. I'm uh, I'm an opossum as you can definitely see, sorry about being so rubbish at this." Jackson apologises. "I'm pretty shy around, um....new people and you guys look like such good friends already so I'm-"

"It's fine Jackson, I'm Lukas." The penguin interrupts. "I'm not exactly jazzed around new people either but none of us will bite so take your time, we've got all night." Jackson gives everyone a sheepish look. "Why don't you go next?" Lukas asks as he elbows the rat next to him.

"Huh, oh, I'm Arron and I think I might have drink a little too much already, sorry mate." Nolan rolls his eyes but smiles all the same.

"I told him not to start drinking so soon, Sven by the way. Silly rat." The reindeer bows his head as he introduces himself.

"Ellis," the fox says. "Sorry about making you feel like we were intimidating and stuff, we're all pretty nice once you know us so why don't you come over and talk with us. You seem a little nervous so it's fine if you don't want to though."

"Well, go mingle if you want, I'll be upstairs making sure everything's set up and stuff. Just shout up the stairs if you need me." With that Nolan walks away, leaving Jackson with eight eyes on him. As Jackson looks at the group again he sees their eyes dart away. The opossum summons the courage required to walk up to the group and starts speaking, forcing himself to engage.

"How many has he had to drink?" He asks motioning to Arron.

"By my count, two cans of beer." Sven answers.

"Guess he's a lightweight." Lukas says as he takes a swig of his own can of beer.

"Ain't it you guys that do the whole 'play dead' thing?" Arron asks suddenly.

"Arron! Shut up." Ellis lightly punches the rat in the arm before looking to Jackson. "Sorry about him, two cans and he's drunk, you don't need to answer that." Ellis gives a subtle smirk before he gives a look that seems to the opossum to say 'but you should because it would be very interesting'.

"Yes." Jackson sighs.

"Really? Sorry, it's just I've not really talked to an opossum before." Lukas tells Jackson with an apologetic expression.

"You really want to know about that?" Jackson asks the group, he doesn't really mind telling people about what Arron referred to as 'the whole play dead thing', and it means he has something to talk about with all these new people. Before he can get an answer, Nolan comes into the room with a new party guest.

"This is Glenn." Nolan tells everyone, a white and brown-furred springer spaniel stands next to him.

"Hey everyone!" The dog says amicably as he approaches. There's a round of quick introductions and then Glenn apologises to the rest of the group, "I realise I interrupted a conversation, sorry about that, what were you talking about?"

"This guy was about to tell us about playing dead and stuff." Arron gets several unfriendly glares as soon as he's finished talking but Jackson notices that Glenn smiles and tilts his head a little, questioningly.

"So what were you going to say?"

"Um....." Jackson tries to think where to start. "Well, what do you guys want to know about it?"

"Ah! Sort of like a Q&A thing then......" Ellis mutters. "What causes it to happen?"

"If I'm really frightened or feel threatened by something then my body just sort of does it on reflex."

"So horror movies look like a crime scene by the end when you guys watch them?" Ellis jokes. This gets a chuckle from Jackson but he has to admit it's not far off.

"Kinda, some people get more frightened than others or more stressed than others but yeah, horror movies are a real killer for most opossums."

"So you don't have any control over it then?" Glenn inquiries.

"Not really; I can usually tell when it's going to happen, it feels kinda like feinting but different at the same time. Something triggers it and everything goes to black and I wake up sometime later."

"Boo!" Arron shouts making everyone jump. "Damn it!" The rat sighs after Jackson doesn't start playing dead.

"Fuck you, Arron!" Ellis scolds.

"It, um, it takes more than that, good try though." Jackson gives a weary chuckle. "Can we all agree not to try and make me play dead? I really don't want it to happen and then find myself waking up forty minutes later on the floor somewhere." The entire group can tell Jackson is being very serious in his request.

"Definitely."

"I'm certainly not that mean."

"Of course. I'll make sure Arron doesn't try it again, and if he does I hope he likes bruises cause if he does try it I'll make sure he learns his lesson." Sven gives Arron a look that makes the rat gaze around anywhere other than in the reindeer's general direction.

"I promise." Just as Glenn finishes what he's saying Nolan appears with another person.

"This is Chester." A rooster is at Nolan's side.

"Howdy! If anyone calls me a cock I'll get a little ticked off. Mother used to insult me by calling me that so that cut's a little raw. Oh god! I've brought the mood down! Sorry." Chester apologises quickly.

"No no, come join us." Sven gestures to the rooster to come over and he does so with a semi-smile on his beak.

"Forty minutes? That's quite a bit of time to be doing that for." Glenn asks.

"What's this about doing something for forty minutes?" Chester asks everyone.

"Oh, um.... Hi, I'm Jackson. We were just talking about how opossums play dead, these guys seemed interested and so I've been answering questions for them."

"Oh! Count me as interested too then." Everyone introduces themselves and Jackson does a quick recap of everything so far for Chester before he continues his answering.

"Forty minutes is the lower end of the scale, four hours is the upper end." This sends a wave of silence through the group. "Oh yes, please promise you won't try to make me play dead since I really don't want it to happen tonight." Jackson tells Chester.

"I wouldn't dream of it, I promise." The rooster says solemnly.

"You all seem to be well mingled so I think it's time we get started." Jackson doesn't like the look in Nolan's eyes as he says this after returning from upstairs. "I've planned a little game for us tonight. The rules are simple, you each have five hundred pounds, and we will take turns daring each other to do something with the incentive of being given an amount of money decided by the person daring. Everyone is free to leave before the end of five rounds, after those five rounds the amount of money you have is then going to be converted into real money you can win. Any money you walk away with is yours to keep. Sounds cool right? There is one catch, each round the minimum amount to dare someone to do something raises by fifty pounds for every round after the fifth, starting at fifty pounds, and if the person being dared to do something doesn't do something they lose fifty pounds, this amount raises just like the minimum dare amount. If they succeed in the dare then the person daring them takes a shot of either whisky, vodka, rum, spiced rum, or gin and gives them the money. I should also have mentioned that as well as losing fifty pounds, the person being dared will also have to take a shot as well. As I've said, anyone is allowed to leave before the end of the fifth round, after that you must play five more rounds. Shall we get started?"

"You're serious?" Ellis asks, Jackson can tell Nolan's game has surprised everyone, the shocked looks on everyone's faces show that much.

"Five hundred pounds?" Lukas murmurs to himself.

"I'm up for it." Arron practically shouts. "Come on guys, it'll be fun."

"And we get to keep any money? You're serious?" Glenn questions sceptically.

"Yep, I'll give everyone five hundred pounds and if you stick around then yes, you can keep any money you have by the end of the game."

"I guess I need the money." Chester speaks up.

"I could try it." Sven sighs, Lukas sighs words to that effect as well.

"Sure, why not?" Glenn says as he shrugs his shoulders.

"Hell, I can see this going a few different ways by the end of the night so I'll stick around to find out which way things go." Ellis tells Nolan.

"You up for this game, Jackson? Remember, you can leave anytime before the end of the fifth round so I say stick around and if you decide you don't like what's going on you can leave, yeah?"

Jackson moves from foot to foot, his nerves not allowing him to stand still. "I- fine." The look in Nolan's eyes just gets worse once everyone has agreed to play his game.

"Wonderful!" The badger says as he claps his hands together and smiles. "I'm just going to pop upstairs to get your chips, they'll stand in for your money." Nolan turns and walks away, leaving everyone to stand together and try to comprehend what they've just been told.

"This definitely isn't how I saw this party going." Chester says with a chuckle.

"Isn't this a little crazy, Nolan giving us five hundred pounds each to play this game?" Lukas asks.

"I can see it getting crazier before we're done." Ellis responds with a small amount of grimness.

Nolan returns shortly and hands everyone their chips. "Each one represents one pound so keep them safe and all that." He tells everyone. "Grab a chair and we'll get started once we're all in a circle." Moments later everyone is sitting in a circle, their drinks if they have any by their sides. Jackson looks around the circle, he's sitting across from Ellis who seems to be gleefully smiling away at everything that's happening and Lukas who, like the opossum, is glancing around nervously. "Clockwise or anti-clockwise?" Everyone gives Nolan a confused look but Chester soon catches on and answers.

"Clockwise."

"Great, we'll start from me and go round this circle. The person whose turn it is can dare anyone else in the circle, the rules of what are nonexistent as long as the amount of money offered seems appropriate to the person being dared." Jackson really doesn't like the sound of what Nolan has just said. There are no rules or boundaries to what the dares can be as long as enough money is offered? The opossum sees Ellis's smile falter but the fox starts smiling again after a half second. "Right! Um...... Arron, chug that can of beer in one go and I'll give you a fiver."

"You're on!" Arron moves his can of beer to his lips and downs the whole thing much quicker than Jackson thought the rat could. "Pay up." Arron says to Nolan as he wipes his muzzle. Nolan gets up and hands five chips to Arron.

"You're next Glenn." Nolan says to the spaniel as he sits down.

"Oh, um...... Jackson," Jackson's heart rate goes through the roof as he hears his name and his mind produces several nasty things Glenn might ask him to do. "I'll give you ten pounds if you take two shots of spiced rum."

"Um......okay I guess...." Jackson isn't too sure he won't regret this but two shots seems like a reasonable dare to get ten pounds from. Nolan gets up and retrieves two shot glasses and a bottle of spiced rum, pouring the rum into each glass and handing them to Jackson. "Here goes." The opossum mumbles to himself before raising one glass to his muzzle and quickly drinking its contents before doing the same with the second before he can second guess himself. The alcohol warms Jackson but its flavour isn't too bad for the opossum, a little shivering and he's otherwise fine.

"Hey! Well done!" Ellis claps and soon Jackson is sheepishly accepting claps from everyone except Arron who takes another swig of his beer.

"I didn't get a clap, you guys didn't clap for me." Arron complains.

"That's because you're already drunk and we all know you're too drunk to care about two shots, whereas this guy's sober." Lukas retorts.

"Here you go, was that an okay dare? I didn't make you do anything you didn't want to did I?" Glenn whispers to Jackson as he hands him ten chips.

"Don't worry, I didn't find it too bad." The opossum reassures him and he makes his way back to his chair with a small smile.

"Your turn now Jackson." Nolan says.

"Well," Jackson's mind, despite all his trying, can't come up with anything or anyone. "Uh........."

"Everyone pick a number between one and six. Jackson, say a number and then say a dare." Ellis interrupts at seeing the opossum's struggling. Jackson looks around and everyone nods to him to say they've chosen a number.

"Well, number five, I dare you to repeat my dare from just now and drink two shots of your preferred alcohol other than beer or wine. I'll give you ten pounds to do it."

"Well damn." Nolan sighs as he gets up.

"I guess I should have expected to get picked sooner or later." Sven says as he does the same thing as Nolan at the same time as the badger. They both look at each other unsure of what to do.

"You can either pay us both a tenner or we can find a way to decide which one of us does the dare." Nolan says to Jackson.

"I guess I'll pay you both then." Jackson tells them. He knows it's not the best idea but it's what his mind is telling him to do so he goes with it.

"You're sure?" Nolan asks, Jackson nods his head and soon both the badger and Sven have downed two shots, the reindeer drinking whisky and Nolan deciding on rum. Jackson gives them both their ten pounds and sits back down. "It's just occurred to me that we've forgotten to make the darer drink a shot since the person they dared succeeded. One shot of the darer's choice of alcohol for me, Glenn, and Jackson." Jackson isn't too happy about this but he drinks one more shot of spiced rum and so do Glenn and Nolan. The rest of the round follows the same basic dare: drink some amount of alcohol, and by the end of the first round everyone has at least had some amount of alcohol. Sven went after Jackson and dared Lukas, Chester dared Nolan, Ellis went next and dared Chester, Lukas dared Ellis, and finally Arron dared Sven. The next four rounds were all basically the same as the first, the dares changing but always requiring the consumption of alcohol. By the end of the fifth round it is safe to say everyone is at least a little buzzed up. Jackson doesn't quite feel himself as he sits on his chair, his hands seemingly a little too far away and his brain feeling like it is coated in a thin layer of syrup.

"This is everyone's last chance to back out. After this you're trapped here and forced to participate until the end of the tenth round. Anyone want to leave?" Nolan asks while looking around the circle at each of the people around it. No one makes any moves to leave and the badger smiles widely. "Good." If Jackson had been sober like he was before this game he'd probably have shivered at Nolan's exact word choices and reaction but his syrupy mind waves it off without a second thought. "Let's start round six. Arron, lick my feet and I'll give you fifty pounds." No one says anything but everyone is a little shocked by Nolan's dare, everyone that is except Arron who just gets up and moves over to the badger, getting down on his knees in front of him. There's a collective silence as Arron's snout gets slowly, clumsily closer to Nolan's sandaled feet. "Damn! You need to give me a sec to get my shoes off, mate." Nolan promptly removes his sandals, exposing his bare feet to Arron.

"Oh my god!" Jackson hears Lukas mutter as everyone watches Arron stick his tongue out and take a lick over both of the badger's presented feet.

"Pay up, Nolan, you lusty fuck." Nolan hands over the chips and takes a shot, as per the rules of his game.

"That must be against the rules?!" Glenn gawps, still stunned like the rest of the group.

"Nope, I told you anything's allowed if the money offered seems okay to the person getting dared." Jackson notes that Nolan says this with a sort of subdued glee, the opossum's partially drunken state not being able to subdue a shiver this time as it travels down his spine to the tip of his tail.

"That was allowed?!"

"Yep. Do you have a dare?" Nolan asks trying to shift the subject of conversation.

"Chester, do a silly dance." The rooster rolls his eyes before asking how much he's going to get paid. "Fifty pounds." The dog clarifies. Without much deliberation, Chester shakily gets up and begins flailing himself about in odd and erratic ways, the alcohol clearly having an effect on him. "That's enough." Glenn says and Chester retreats to his seat. Glenn takes a shot and gives him his money.

"Thanks man."

"Jackson, what you got?" Jackson isn't a fan of where this is going, perhaps if he gives a normal date things will return to normal.

"I dare Ellis to.........sing a song, I'll give him fifty pounds.

"You're on." Ellis stands up and sings a rendition of some song Jackson has never heard but once it ends Ellis gets his money and Jackson takes a drink. Jackson's plan seems to have worked since Sven dares Nolan something normal, however, Chester's dare blows even Nolan's out of the water.

"Well, I think I'm gonna take a page outta your book Nolan. I've certainly drunk enough to think this is a good idea and I'll pay three hundred and fifty pounds to Jackson," the opossum's heart stops as time seems to slow down while Chester explains what he wants him to do for that much money. Jackson can tell that if Chester is willing to jump to such a high amount it must be bad, the drunken state everyone seems to be in only making the opossum feel more afraid. "If he comes with me and tends to a.....thing of mine for me."

"Ooooooo! Now we're gettin' fun. Little opossum dude's gonna try some chicken bits!" Arron shouts through the silence that follows Chester's dare. The drunken rat's clarification at just what Chester means makes Jackson all the more sure the rooster wants him to suck him off, something the opossum wouldn't have even thought he'd be asked to do when he woke up this morning.

"No, no no! You can't be serious! This must be against the rules!" Sven protests, Nolan just shakes his head in response.

"Think about it Jackson, three hundred fifty pounds just to.....suck me off." The rooster seems to struggle with the last bit but gets it out anyway.

"You can't make him do this!" Lukas shouts, shooting up off his chair.

"I think the little dude's sexy enough." Jackson can't seem to suck in all the air he needs as his breathing gets difficult. A subtle lightheadedness creeps over the opossum and he closes his eyes to try and focus. The group notices that something's happening with Jackson and their attention focuses on him as he sits still and takes deep breaths. The feeling is pushed back after a minute or two just as Jackson is used to doing by now; being an opossum isn't easy in certain situations and Jackson, although careful to try and avoid these things, has gotten used to needing to calm himself down lest his reflexes kick in.

"You okay, Jackson? You don't need to do it. Don't do it." Lukas says softly to the opossum as he opens his eyes before giving a weary smile.

"Three hundred and fifty pounds though." Chester chimes in. As much as Jackson's sane mind hates the idea, that's not entirely the part of the opossum's mind that's in charge right now. His syrup-coated mind thinks the offer over. That's a lot of money, if he takes the offer that's a lot more money than he started off with, how bad could it be? And if it's bad then three hundred fifty pounds of compensation will definitely be enough to cover it and more, right?

"I'll do it."

"Huh?" Chester asks confused.

"I'll do it." Jackson repeats, his mouth working on its own. The rooster practically falls off his chair as he gets up and looks to Nolan.

"Pick any room, I don't care which one."

"Come on then." Jackson's body moves out of the room with Chester leading the way, the stunned silence of everyone else that's left behind palpable to the young opossum as he goes. They walk down the hallway back to the front door but instead of leaving, Chester leads Jackson up the stairs to the upper floor of Nolan's house. Jackson ascends the stairs feeling almost weightless, a strange numbness as Chester picks a random room and walks through the door, holding it open for the opossum. "So.....um, this is a strange room isn't it." Jackson looks around and sees that various leather things are laid around the bedroom he's just walked into, several leather masks shaped like a canine's head, leather restraints, whips, hand coverings, all spread through the room. Blindfolds, handcuffs, gags, rope, and various other restraints are also littered through the room, Jackson must have been too caught up in his own world to notice the most obvious things in the room when he was walking in but now Chester has pointed them out the opossum feels even more afraid of the things that might happen to him tonight. "Uh, well..... you don't have to do this, just say the word and we can go back downstairs. I'll give you three hundred fifty pounds though if you do do it, just think about that." Jackson isn't sure how to proceed, this is obviously wrong, no party should have this kind of thing going on where one person can pay another to suck them off.....or worse. On the other hand, it's three hundred fifty pounds which Jackson can use to buy something he really wants or save for a rainy day.

Seeing Jackson just standing there awkwardly and motionless, Chester makes his move. The rooster begins undoing his trousers and once that's done sits on the bed looking at the statuesque opossum. "Come on over, I'm as comfortable as I can be so...." Jackson's thick mind can't think of what to do so instead he follows Chester's order and moves closer to him. "I'll take that as a yes to sucking me off then." The rooster chuckles as Jackson kneels before him, he shimmies out of his pants which leaves his nethers bare and spreads his legs open so Jackson can move in and start pleasuring him. "Just give it a few licks, I know it looks like a vagina but it's a bird thing, my penis'll come out with the right coaxing." Without Jackson's conscious thought, his body crawls between Chester's legs and soon his head is hovering close to the avian's slit, soon Jackson's wet tongue has made contact with it causing Chester to flinch and suppress a sound of pleasure.

It's not too bad, the taste is new but bearable for the young opossum as he begins working his tongue over the slit in long strokes. Soon enough Jackson feels something pointy poking his tongue as Chester's length begins emerging. The rooster's penis is soon fully exposed and he clicks his beak in pleasure as Jackson mindlessly begins licking over it, the opossum's brain too shocked at what he's doing to think about it too hard. "Time for the fun to begin." Chester murmurs as he takes ahold of Jackson's black ears and moves the opossum's muzzle over his tip. "Get sucking." And Jackson does, he takes the tip into his wet mouth and begins licking over it and sucking on it, the taste of salty pre-cum filling his mouth as Chester's tapered tip releases dribbles of it. "That's it." Chester's hands come down again and forcefully push Jackson's muzzle further down his tapered length, stopping when the opossum gags violently as it pokes at the back of his throat. Jackson can't think, he wants to get up and tell Chester he can't do it but something in him also feels like it's just easier to do as he's told, his drunken state not helping matters. "J-just relax and start bobbing." No sooner has Chester said this than Jackson moves his head up the entire shaft until only the tip is left in his muzzle and promptly shoves himself back down it while caressing the hard member with his tongue. After doing this a few times Chester seems like he's about to reach his end. "H-hey, I'm about to-" midway through his sentence, Chester pushes Jackson as far down his length as possible and the opossum feels as it pulses and begins depositing the rooster's seed into him. Luckily Jackson is able to hold himself up enough to stop Chester from choking him but he lacks the strength to completely pull himself off the rooster's penis so is forced to endure jet after jet of avian cum being launched into him. Soon Chester is spent and thankfully lets Jackson off his dick. "S-sorry man, don't, don't know what came over me." Chester says apologetically as Jackson bends to the floor and begins coughing up semen. "Oh shit! You alright man?"

"Y-yes, it- lets- let's go back downstairs." Jackson responds glumly, at least he'll be getting three hundred and fifty pounds for what he's just done, even if he isn't happy about it. Chester redresses and they both leave the room and descend the stairs.

"Hey! Had enough chicken!?" Arron shouts at seeing them return, Jackson just giving a sad and embarrassed look at the floor in response.

"This little man is the real deal, he's done it and I gotta respect him for it. Anyone who has a problem with that or thinks about teasing him will have me to deal with." Chester says sternly, shooting Aaron a death glare for his pervious comment.

"Here here!" Sven chimes in.

"Here here!" Ellis, Glenn, and Lukas all echo. Chester gives Jackson his chips and takes the shot as Lukas and Glenn talk to Jackson in his chair.

"You okay?" Lukas asks, seeing Jackson's spaced-out look.

"Wha- yeah, I'm- I'm fine just a little shaken up. I'll be fine as long as nothing shocking happens."

"Boo!"

"I'll skin you, you lousy rodent." Chester warns Arron. Both Glenn and Lukas watch as Jackson starts breathing rapidly and shivering.

"I think Jackson's going to need a sec to calm down, can we have a break?" Glenn asks Nolan with a slightly panicked expression on his face.

"As long as the next person to go is fine with it, are you Sven?" The badger answers.

"Of course I am! Get him some water and take that rodent away." Chester roughly grapples Arron and escorts him out of the room while Lukas and Glenn try to calm Jackson down and Ellis gets some water for him.

"It's fine, Jackson, just take deep breaths." Glenn says in the kind of voice you use when you're trying to calm down a violent drunk person, a sort of high but light voice. "Does anyone know how to calm him down!" He says turning to the others in the room.

Ellis gets back and hands the glass to Jackson, "I'm going to hurt Arron when I see him again, damn idiot." The fox murmurs as he kneels nearby. Jackson takes a shaky sip of water and tries to calm down; he's fine, it's fine, he'll be home soon and then he can forget about all this. Slowly, Jackson settles down, the floaty feeling leaving his body and fading away.

"S-sorry, I'm f- I've calmed down. Sorry about that." Jackson shakily apologised to everyone.

"Well! It's your turn, Ellis. Who are you going to dare?" Nolan says with a clap of his big black paws, everyone looks at the badger with either a look of shock or anger but Nolan just ignores that and waits for an answer from Ellis.

"We should stop this. I'm all for fun and games but this has gone too far, I'd hoped it wouldn't get this bad but..."

"So you're skipping your turn?"

"The fuck's wrong with you? Jackson's on the verge of.....something and you just focus on your game!?"

"I'm back!!" Arron proclaims as he bursts back into the room, Chester following behind him with a sour look on his face.

"Someone else look after him, 'cause I'm about to kill him if I spend any longer alone with him."

"Ellis is skipping his turn so I guess it's your turn, Lukas. Who're you going to dare?"

"No, I'm a little busy right now. Screw your game, Nolan, you twisted man." Nolan doesn't flinch at the insult and instead turns to Aaron.

"Well, it seems some people aren't in the spirit of this game. Surely you are, Aaron. Who're you going to dare?" The room watches as Aaron stumbles towards Nolan, leaning down to whisper something in his ear once he reaches him. Jackson can't hear much from where he is except for "100" but Nolan's smile gives the opossum a very bad feeling. Nolan stands up and moves to the kitchen area, opening a drawer and taking something out. He turns around and everyone is silent as they each see the knife in his hand. Before Jackson can realise what's about to happen, Nolan's eyes glaring directly at him, the badger moves swiftly and within a second he is in front of Jackson with the knife. It all happens so fast, there is shouting, rapid movement from Ellis and Sven to try and stop Nolan, but Jackson's world goes fuzzy and darkness creeps over him. The familiar light, floaty feeling takes over his body and Jackson is helpless as his reflexes take over.

"Jackson?" A small voice sounds in the distance. "You waking up?"

"I hope he wakes up soon, I'm getting worried. Is Nolan still..."

"Yeah, Sven and I've made sure he and Aaron will stay just where they are until the police get here."

"Jackson?" All the voices seem like they're important but Jackson can't quite focus. Slowly, Jackson's consciousness comes back to him, his eyes open sluggishly to see Ellis, Lukas, Chester, and Glenn grouped around his prone body.

"Oh, he's waking up. Would you mind getting some water, Glenn?" Lukas says above him.

"H- hey. Sorry." Jackson apologises once he has worked up the energy to speak.

"You okay? You've been playing dead for near enough two hours and let me tell you, you make a very convincing dead body so I've been freaking out. I knew you were playing dead but still..." Jackson gives the penguin a weak smile and moves to be sitting up.

"Me and Sven kicked Nolan's ass, I got this lovely souvenir," Ellis says pointing to a gash just above his left eyebrow. "But it'll heal. Aaron's also had his ass kicked and now they're both tied up thanks to the strange abundance of rope and restraints upstairs." Ellis explains as Glenn returns and Jackson takes the glass of water from him.

"I think it's a good idea for you to go back to your accommodation, Jackson. You've been through a lot. I'll walk with you there if you want." The springer spaniel's expression is one of concern as he says this.

"That, uh, that's probably for the best."

"The rest of us will stay here and make sure Nolan and Aaron get what they deserve. I'll also try my best to make up for my despicable behaviour toward you this evening. I understand if you hate me, I know I went too far and I'm sorry." Chester says to Jackson with a sorrowful expression on his face. With a huff, Jackson puts the glass down and gets to his feet, shakily, and Glenn helps him to the front door of Nolan's house. Just a few short hours ago Jackson had walked through this door without a clue what lay in store for him. Now he's being helped out after the worse hours of his life. The walk back is long but Glenn stays by Jackson's side with a concerned look even after Jackson says he's fully recovered. They reach Jackson's accommodation, Block 3, and the opossum unlocks the door and steps inside.

"Thanks, Glenn. I'm sorry for causing you trouble by needing help getting home."

"No need to apologise, you've been through the wringer tonight. It's the least you deserve that I help you get home safely." Jackson gives the dog a smile and says goodbye. Stepping back into his room Jackson feels like he's been gone for forever. Why did he have to go out? He has plenty of books to read so why go out? Jackson knows that's just his fear talking up. For now, he thinks he'll take it slowly in the evenings, just stay inside with a hot drink and a nice book until he gets over the night he's just had.
