Threads - Food Anyone?®

"So... why isn't it wearing any clothes?"

"Because SHE isn't allowed to."

Alex seemed to grumble as he answered his friend. One of the many who knew he actually kept the Carbine in his household.

"Right... she..."

Society hasn't changed much. People still think that they must be chained; they must wear shreds of garments -if any-. 'it' instead of he or she. It just disgusted Alex.

But what was strange for his friends was that they all knew he hated the oppression against the Carbine, yet he even had some living with him. And to top it all off, he works for the company that creates a Pulse.

"So then, when did you draw up the last planned stages?"

Alex took his nose out of the coffee pot and peered down at Jack. "It'll be done soon. Stop asking."

"Well I wa-

"IT... will be done, soon, Jack. Now c'mon, shift I want to watch TV."

Alex had stood up, taking the coffee pot with him whilst the Feline who stood in the corner, kept quiet and barely flinched at the raised voice.

Jack was a little startled, but he nodded and followed Alex to the door, letting the coffee stay on the table they had both sat at.

"Now, I need you to go to work and tell Brosnan or whoever is in charge under me, that I'm ill. I have a lot of work to do, all right? Now get a move on."

Before Jack could even speak, the door was opened, and he was thrust outside into the cold. Jack was a quiet and passive man, so it was a relief for Alex to just shove him out. He knew it was rude but today had been a long day, and it was time for some R&R.

"Guys?" Had echoed through the large house. At the moment Alex was standing at the front door, just in the foyer whilst he listened out for any movement. With a snap of his fingers, and a smile, he made his way into the kitchen down the corridor and up the small set of steps. A flash of movement had bolted through the corner of his eye.

Immediately he stopped moving, heart racing, eyes darting everywhere. "Laura... I swear to God if you Jum--AGH!"

"MASTER!"

It was Laura. The Gray feline had quite literally punted Alex onto the Marble floor, and promptly had glomped his chest, and began to rub her cheek to his own. "I missed you."

Her words were soft, and gentle as her eyes closed, and she tightly wrapped her arms around Alex's waist. Roughly 5"6', she was quite lightweight. Still, the force she managed to hold over him was phenomenal, and it had winded him, just.

"H-hey Laura... You missed me today?" This wasn't uncommon. Far, VERY far from it. This would happen near most every day no matter what he did. Even when he was covered in snow, the feline would always pounce her Human friend. "You know you're not allowed to call me master, Laura."

The feline barely made a sound. She simply clung to her 'master' and kept rubbing his cheek, kissing it every now and then. So with that, knowing she had listened to nothing, Alex had just about managed to sit up, hold Laura, and then get to his feet in a few movements.

After the struggle, he would carry the clutching feline to the living room and look around for the others. "5 years old and I still have to carry you around." He mumbled, giving her cheek a kiss whilst he kept searching through each corner and corridor of the place.

"Neh." Was all the house cat said as she would un-latch from Alex and stretch out, letting the long and well kept tail flick gently. She was a beautiful thing. He had her when she was a small kitten, the family pet for five years until the third when he left home, and stole her from his family. They never even noticed.

What he loved was that she held the little spots from her collar bone down to her left breast, and even then she was always nude. Again this was quite normal, as she refused to wear any garments. He near most always blushed at the site, but simply agreed with her.

"Is Shauna in here?" Alex called, letting his eyes swivel a little. How did he know? For one, Laura's tail had flicked. That always meant another being was present in the room. Secondly, even for a human, he could smell that sort of gentle baby powder scent that flooded every time he was near her.

And it was true. Shauna is a sort of mixed breed Husky and Border collie. She holds the Gray stomach, black fur, and a heart shaped rear fur pattern. She was only young, at about 4 of her years, compared to Laura's 5 years.

Blue eyes scanned the room, searching for the dark figure, until finally he found her at the top of the stair well, resting her head on her arms that leant onto the stair banister.

"Shauna..."

A little wag of her tail was produced, but not much else for movement.

"You okay love?"

Alex was getting a little worried. He glanced at Laura and simply mewed at him, and then he walked to the stair case, and began to walk the curvature of the marble to the canine. "Shauna? What's wrong puppy?" He spoke, waltzing over to the dog to stand beside her. Again, her tail began to wag, and those precious ears would raise and perk whilst she stayed staring down at the floor below the balcony.

"C'mon... what's up?" Alex's hand was placed on her back, and she jumped up straight, twisted round and fell against Alex, placing her arms round his neck. In the instance he took a step back and blinked, trying to support her. She seemed to be crying...

"Shauna, please. Tell me what's wrong?"

"..."

"I'll let you come with me the next time I go for a walk."

"Ibrokeavase."

"...I'm sorry, what?"

"I broke... one of the vases."

Alex simply stood and blinked at the Canine who wept in his arms. His hand was brought up, and she cringed, but soon it was just to stroke her hair, and wipe away tears. "Shauna don't be silly. I don't care if you've broken a vase, I just care that you're okay."

Laura was standing behind the two, smiling softly, benign to the situation, partially because she couldn't hear what was being said, what with all the whispering.

The canine shivered in Alex's arms and her tail was promptly shoved between her legs, along with her ears folding back against her head. "I'm s-sorry..." She choked, just about getting the words out. She was obviously very scared of Alex.

Of course she had nothing to fear. She was only young, although just about the same height was Laura behind them.

"Shauna... Look at me. Please."

Eventually, she would open her eyes, and those soft, warm green orbs would gaze up at him in a quivering manner, fearing the worst from the Human. He would do the same. His eyes met with hers, and stuck to them as he stroked her head to comfort the Hybrid.

"I'm not angry. You wont, nor ever will you be punished in this house hold, by anyone. I promise you that Shauna. I love you."

Another kiss was simply placed against her fore head, and then he let her go, feeling the ease of her arms open up. No longer was she crying, but only smiling up at Alex. He took her hand, and began to walk down the staircase with the two female carbine following, going in search of the others.

Sooner or later the three walked into 'The Great Room' which wasn't really all that great. It was more just the living room really. A couple of corner sofa units, a large, broad coffee table with the TV centring above the fireplace, cream carpets and light blue wall paint to seal it off. It appeared to also be one of those ridiculously tall ceilings that seemed to rise up to the clouds.

After moving in about a metre or so, Shauna seemed to stop, and stand as still and quiet as a statue. Of course Alex hadn't noticed this, as his mind was elsewhere, searching for the others that seemed to hide around his house before the company left. However, Laura bumped into Shauna and squeaked, tilting her head at the Hybrid with a mew of confusion.

"Hmm... Laura?"

The feline brightened up and let her tail lash, darting over to Alex, as if completely forgetting about Shauna.

"Look after Shauna, she's scared of Nicky."

The feline nodded obediently and skipped back to Shauna, trying to get her to respond, one way or another. He could tell it was going to end in tears, but for now he needed to find Nicky.

With Nicky it was... harder. Other than Alex being scared to death of her, she could hide extremely well. REALLY well. He often finds himself worrying over her leaving the household, or even being stolen.

Perhaps that should be explained. In the 'District' as they call it, you are legally allowed to own a Carbine - no matter what species - as long as they are under good behaviour. Some different species take different measures, and so forth. You need a permit for each, and also the laws that go along with them.

Nicky is a Shark. A Tiger Shark. Probably the reason why she scares the shit out of him. But what always baffled him was how she was so able to hide this well. The house was large, but pretty basic in the ways of mostly square rooms and well, boring.

Alex looked up, scanning the arches in the room across the prop shaft in the middle, seeing a slight bulge in the shadows cast by the lamp light over in the corner. "Nicky?" He moved a little closer, staring up at that bulge. "...Nic-" But of course, for about the third time he is wrong in finding her. It was a duffle bag, propped up against the side to throw him. "...ky."

"Right, I think I might have to place a tracer on her or something."

"Oh really Alex?"

Those words had managed to creep toward him, slithering into the left ear as a hand would slide across the broad of his shoulders. It shook him to the core. He stood perfectly still, holding his breath as she would then slip away.

Quickly, the Human turned and gasped, grabbing back the air to his lungs, and then try to find where she went. "Would you quit that? Seriously it's not just your teeth that scare me."

Well, having huge and perfect white teeth shone in your face can be a tiny bit intimidating.

"Aww... You take the fun out of everything you know that?"

Again she was throwing her voice, he didn't know where she was.

"Yeah well, it scares the shit out of me so that's your payback."

His last word would trigger a thud to the floor, and he spun about, hearing the noise from behind him. She was quite literally, nose to nose with the Human. Alex jumped back, seeing those teeth bared before him.

"GAH!"

"Sup Alex? I see you brought the convoy?"

Laura and Shauna were standing over by the archway to the foyer. Shauna seemed to have snapped out of whatever she was in, and Laura was... well, Laura. Happy with everything and anything, that sweet little smile across her face.

Whilst Alex was regaining composure, he nodded. "Yeah... Seems they didn't want to scare me today. You should take a tab from them."

"Oh shush, you love it when I scare you."

With one movement, Nicky grabbed Alex and pulled him into a hug, arms round the neck, and a gentle kiss to his cheek.

Of course Alex hugged back, eventually. He was still a little wary of the Shark, no matter how stunning she was.

Nicky was rare. And how everyone didn't know it. For first start, she was a shark. Secondly, a Tiger shark. Nicky's colouration was a very light twinge of Orange, and of course the natural stripes or 'shocks' as she called them which covered her body. He paid a hefty price to save her.

Nicky would finally let go and smile softly at Alex, give him a reassuring pat on the arm, and then push him off into the next archway. He smiled and muttered "Tomboy" under his breath at the Shark.

"What?"

"Nothing... heh..."

"Yeah, sure."

"Guys c'mon, we got to find her Majesty."

Shauna and Laura perked up, and then walked over to Alex and Nicky, but the Shark seemed to break off and lunge up into the rafters.

"Oh... bye to you too Nicky."

"I'll see you later Alex, don't you worry."

The Human turned back to the feline and the Hybrid, shrugging his shoulders, and they just blinked back at him. Laura did of course, pounce onto Alex and start nibbling his ear. "AH!" "Neh!"

So, with Alex giving Laura yet another piggy back, Shauna would silently follow on as they went on to find his last house mate.

What else but to top it off with a Vixen. Possibly the most controversial being he has ever had. The same as Laura, Alex had gotten Kristin when she was only small, and has loved her all the way through, and he had a funny feeling she was in the living room.

"Kristin?"

The Vixen was sitting over in one of the large sofa's, reading a magazine of the next fashion running for the world. The paper was immediately taken down from her eyes, and then tossed to the side as she practically rocketed at the Human, and pelted him to the floor.

"Hi ther- oh shit."

"OHMYGODIMISSEDYOUSOMUCHILOVEYOU!"

"WOAH!"

This would go on for a matter of about 2 minutes until he would be able to calm her down just enough to ask her to get off. Nicely, of course.

Laura seemed interested in the Magazine that Kristin had dropped, and decided to try have a go at it reading it, with that gentle smile she wore so well.

Shauna pretty much joined Laura, sitting next to her to try and read it also. Still silent.

Back on the floor, Kristin was quite happily laying on top of Alex, giving him a kiss, right smack bang on the lips. It wasn't hard to see that she loved him, and it was actually not even thinkable.

"I missed you..."

"I can see that."

Alex chuckled as she stroked a finger down his chest, giving him a smile and a flutter with those purple eyes that seemed to gaze into his own.

"You ready for food?"

Instantly, Laura and Shauna, even Nicky had all appeared next to Alex, hearing food being heard.

"...I'll take that as a yes."
