== LOG #008 ==

These investigations have been messing around with my log schedule.

Since the death of Dasha, the Los Angeles Police Department have been investigating the event, as they are the Department that was assigned to cover the Pro-Tech town and research facility when it was taken over by the government for the Protogen Project (I have no idea what the official name is, so I'll just refer to it as this from now on). I suspect that an employee most likely told the police about the event, as the higher officials seemed to not want to let news of the incident leave the walls of the facility.

The LAPD, upon arriving at the facility (after being reluctantly granted entry to the facility by the higher officials) were outwardly frustrated to find that most of the scene had already been cleaned up, with most, if not all, potential evidence being disposed of.

This made the LAPD and myself quite suspicious of the company superiors, and by extension the government. Whilst the government did allow the LAPD onto the scene, they apparently seemed very vague about the situation, even discouraging the LAPD to investigate. Despite this, apparently the investigations are going ahead anyway, being led by Sergeant A. Shiro, whoever he is. At some point I will try to share all of the information that I can with the LAPD.

This morning we also got a briefing from the CEO of Pro-Tech, J. Henro. He essentially was making a speech, which was apparently to 'disprove some rumours going around regarding the death of an employee'. These rumours were, according to the briefing, suggesting that the Pro-Tech company was responsible for Dasha's death, going further to state that the death was deliberate. Personally, I hadn't heard these rumours, and neither had anyone else I talked to about the briefing. In fact, one attendee actually disputed the existence of any rumour whatsoever, to which Henro replied "Well, maybe YOU didn't hear about it, but I and a few others did". When asked who these 'few others' were, the disputer was sent out of the conference hall, escorted by Security. In short, Henro appeared to me to be making the excuse of the existence of a rumour to announce that the Pro-Tech company was not involved with the death of Dasha. The whole speech sounded a bit too specific to me, as it was like Henro was just trying to prove himself innocent, despite the fact that no one had accused him of being guilty. I will mention this to the LAPD.

We employees have been told not to socialise with any Protogens for the next few months, which is a shame, but also very suspicious. It makes me think that the Protogens know something that the company doesn't want other employees to know.

I have not made much more progress with my personal 'experiment', as I haven't seen my subject for a while. I hope it wasn't something I said. We felt as if we were so close to determining the cause of Dasha's death, too. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait.

I hope she comes back soon.
