The Lost of the Marshes - Summary (WITH SPOILERS!)

• Chapter 1 - Found: Quince, a genderless cat who cannot speak, separates from their taller scavenging partner Nikili, a male mongoose, in the Hamora Marshes. The cat finds a giant mute dark-blue dragon who, as gentle as he could be at his size, swallows Quince down into his crop, indulging in the cat's desires of being swallowed alive. Nikili finds the dragon, who lets Quince go, and Nikili runs away with Quince in his arms.

• Chapter 2 - Trust: The next day, Nikili and Quince venture again into the marshes in search of artifacts of Zugul, and decide to look for them in the ruin where they had spotted the dragon. They find him there, but another aggressive dragon confronts them, and the dark-blue one defends them. After the ensuing confusion, and the following calm when the aggressive dragon leaves, he once again safely swallows the cat, and Nikili, in order to make amends with Quince, also lets himself get swallowed down into the dragon's crop.

• Chapter 3 - Home: Later that day, after being let out, Nikili and Quince both discover that the dragon can seemingly turn into a very small archaeopteryx at will, and they take him home to the village of Logas along with the found artifacts. While Nikili is busy making dinner, Quince and the dragon swap roles, and the cat swallows him down instead. When Quince tries and fails to puke him out, the archaeopteryx turns back into a massive dragon (while safely teleporting both Nikili and Quince into his crop in the process). However, the dragon gets spotted by another villager of Logas: Ruunk, a female duck.

• Chapter 4 - Change: The next morning, Nurta, a female lizard and unofficial leader of Logas, summons Nikili to talk about the concerns brought by her underling, Ruunk. She confronts him about the dragon, and Quince joins their conversation along with the archaeopteryx, who Nurta recognizes as the dragon immediately. With the spoken intent of getting the dragon to co-live peacefully in Logas, Nurta gives him the means to transform into a person-sized kobold, claiming that he could learn to speak in this form, and in exchange for the favor, she asks that Nikili and Quince escort her to the city of Kuir to sell her produce in a few days. Nikili, Quince, and the kobold return to their home, where Nikili starts teaching the kobold how to speak. In the evening, after the lesson, the kobold - who decides to call himself Suu - swallows Quince once more, but gets aroused this time. Nikili realizes that he has fallen in love with Suu.

• Chapter 5 - Intersection: A few days later, the scavenger duo, Nurta, and Suu (also going by Suugal) set off to Kuir, and separate upon arrival. Nikili and Quince sell their artifacts, while losing sight of Suu; meanwhile, Nurta learns of some mobilization from Kaati's army. The trio set off in search of the kobold, and Nikili meets an old acquaintance from the army, a dog by the name of Ludama, who separates him from Quince. Arriving at a bar, Nikili is ticked off by the commander's bigotry, rudeness, and fond remembrance of the army-sanctioned killings that both of them committed, and upon insinuations of the nature of Nikili's relationship with Quince, pushes Ludama and flees. Around the same time, Nurta locates Suu, reveals herself to also be a transformed dragon, and earns his trust once they find some common ground as they both want to protect their mutual friends. In order to avoid his 'gasham'sag' (ability to hear hearts) from overwhelming him in the city again, Suu gets her to swallow him in his archaeopteryx form into her crop for safekeeping, and she sets off with him inside.

• Chapter 6 - Pleasure: Nurta grabs a set of stone tablets from Kuir's library and takes them to a brothel to study them, while Quince tails and then confronts her. Reading a passage from these tablets, the cat finds out that Nurta was a dragon as well. She admits to that fact and to swallowing Suugal into her crop, but Quince doesn't seem alarmed by it; in fact, they appear very eager to sate her ever-growing lust (partially caused by the archaeopteryx's deliberate wiggling), and Nurta shoves Quince into her vagina to sate both of their desires. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, Nikili has taken refuge in the next room in the same building, where he meets a male gecko by the pseudonym of Musdagura who is a sex worker. The mongoose vents to him, struggling to find peace with the killings he had committed while he was a Kaatian soldier, but finds solace in that he can do better for the sake of his friend, Quince. Musdagura tries to cheer him up by having sex with him, but Nikili is unable to enjoy himself as his mind only focuses on Suu, who he has feelings for. Once he's alone in the room, he masturbates while fantasizing about having sex with the kobold, and rushes out of the building when he hears an explosion, which turns out to be Suu transforming into a full-sized dragon.

• Chapter 7 - Pleasure: The people of Kuir witness as Nikili escapes a pursuing soldier by jumping into Suugal's mouth, and he's swallowed down into his crop where he finds Quince and Nurta, before the dragon flies off. He lets them out on the next morning and exchange information on what they know, while also learning that Suu took them to Kyorna, a place from Nurta's forgotten past. They split up, and Nurta stays to console Quince, who was sad due to Nikili's reaction. Nurta tells them the story of how she left behind her dragon life, and began to live among people, thanks to her late husband, Duwag. But she senses that other dragons are currently stalking them, and she feels forced to turn back into one herself to keep Quince safe. Meanwhile, when Nikili and Suu are alone, the mongoose - having learned that Suu had been listening to his feelings all along - confesses his love for the dragon, and asks to have sex with him. Suu cums in him but Nikili feels unfulfilled, so the kobold turns into an archaeopteryx and climbs into his ass in order for the scavenger to reach his climax. With Suu stuck inside of him, Nikili tries to return to the others, before another dragon suddenly jumps at him on his way back.

• Chapter 8 - Estranged: Nurta turns back into a dragon, and even though she suffers from minor memory loss and heavy migraines because of the transformation, she manages to scoop up Nikili and Suu, keeping them into her crop for safety along with Quince. The dragons greet her courteously and take her to meet the Matriarch of Kyorna, Dikuga - who turns out to be her mother. Communicating over Dikuga's special ability, 'gasham'dug', Nurta (or Nizura, as she used to be called) learns that she is the only heiress to the kingdom of dragons in the marshes, and her mother tries to jog her memory so she can finally accept her duty as ruler and leave behind her time with humans. With Suugal now freed from her crop, Dikuga also expects that she'll marry him, but Nurta confronts her, realizing that Dikuga's abuse is what caused her to leave in the first place, and that she doesn't share anything with who her daughter was. Both Nurta and Suugal fly away to Zugul, where he and the two scavengers can remain outside of Kaati's reach while she figures out a plan to bring them back safely. Meanwhile, Baau, an alligator who's a general of Kaati, assures Emperor Elki that all military plans are proceeding apace, although Baau seems to have some vested personal interest in the fate of the dragon that suddenly appeared in Kuir.

• Chapter 9 - Stuck: A week passes after Nurta returns to Logas, with Suugal, Nikili, and Quince using the place they'd first met as a temporary shelter, spending the days aimlessly and sleeping in the dragon's crop every night. Tensions rise up as the days go by, with Nikili frustrated about not being able to go back home, and Quince feeling like they are a wedge between his and Suu's blossoming relationship, as well as the cause for them losing their old life. It culminates with the cat trying to run away, overcome by negative thoughts, until they make a promise to change their ways. After successfully swallowing and regurgitating a fish safely, Quince feels that they've started to overcome their flaws, and decide to return to their friends - stumbling on them sharing an intimate, sensual moment with a dragon Suugal sucking off Nikili. Quince joins in on the fun by sneaking into the dragon's slit between the hemipenes, but Ruunk suddenly arrives and faints at the sight. Once she recovers, she explains that Nurta is still investigating the rumors in Kaati, and has found a safe haven for the trio in Nikili's birth place. Ludama surprises them all, finding them after stalking Ruunk, and in the confrontation that follows, his leg gets impaled by Quince's knife while the cat gets stabbed with a poison-laced lance. Ruunk immobilizes Ludama as she urges the trio to escape, and with nowhere to go, Suu rushes off with his friends in his crop towards Quince's home.
