Alright well, I know it's not too furry other than the fact that it says tail towards the end but it wasn't originally made to be furry so I didn't want to change too much(mainly because I'm lazy), I didn't give anyone a species so it's up to the reader I guess, sorry I didn't work too much on this but I think it's good how it stands.

Well enjoy, I think I did a pretty good job! Thanks Brandon for making me write this!

With Winter Comes Cold

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,

Only one creature was stirring, creature named Clouse.

This is no story about a tranquil day,

This is a story of a man and his way.

Clouse was hard at work, making the small 2-bedroom house close to spotless. Tomorrow was a big day for him. He would have family and friends over for Christmas dinner. As soon as he finished he sighed in contempt to see his house nice and in order. He was quite anal about things being put in the right places. A mild case of OCD, one may say. He dragged himself to his bedroom to relax after a long Christmas Eve packed with shopping in hellishly packed stores, and cleaning. He allowed his body to simply collapse onto his bed, every muscle relaxing. If only his mind was in the same state, he thought.

His mind was racing as to his friends reactions to what he had done the day before. They were at the beach, watching his friend run around the beach was quite the sight to behold. His fur was glistening with the water and sun; he was close to irresistible to Clouse. Clouse felt so warm thinking of his friend. He wanted to say something heartfelt to him, but the words always escaped him. So, as they sat on the beach after a day of tropical fun, Clouse turned to his friend and pressed his lips up again against his. At first he seemed as though he enjoyed the interaction, only moments later he pulled away shouting, "Clouse!" After that, he stormed away, Clouse hadn't seen or heard from him since. "Why did I do that?" he thought regretting the action. "What if?" he thought, "what if I just lost the one I love?" he began to pull at his hair. The main motivation for his preparation for tomorrow was in the hope that his friend would be present at his dinner party. The thoughts of his friend were enough to lull him to sleep as he snuggled up with a pillow.

He awoke the next morning realizing the work he had to do. He checked the clock and realized he needed to have baked goods in the oven and ready to go to his parents' house in less than an hour. He quickly rushed through his house mixing cake and brownie batter along with some cookie dough that he had set up to be ready to do yesterday. He poured the batters and dough into their respective containers and put them in the oven then rushed to take a shower. He took a moment to relax in the shower, the water falling upon him a gentle massage releasing the stress built into his tired muscles. He took a while in the shower and as he stepped out, he heard his phone ringing so he quickly exited his bathroom to answer it.

"Hello?" he answered hoping he was at the other side of the line.

"Where are you!" his mother replied in an angry yell.

"I'm still at home, I'll be there soon," he said moving the phone away from his ear to avoid any permanent hearing damage.

"Don't tell me you brought home some guy last night, Clouse. I swear to god, if you bring some guy over here, you will be excommunicated from the family," she screamed through the phone.

"I know, I'll be there soon," he said slightly depressed, "Alone," he added.

He quickly went back to the bathroom to grab a towel, dried off, and proceeded to prepare the day. He put on a Christmas vest his mother had given him last year over his short-sleeved red shirt, along with a pair of dark blue jeans. He turned off the stove, went into his garage, got into his car, and began the short five-minute journey to his parents' house.

When he pulled up to the house he got out and walked into the house. When he closed the door, his mother came from around a corner.

"Oh, hi honey, how have you been?" of course all loving as the rest of the family starts to come into the entrance.

"Uh, fine. Sorry for being late, I didn't wake up early enough," he explains. Everyone greets him with smiles and high pitch voices. The women, the majority of the family, gave him hugs and the men gave firm handshakes. As the day progressed, he noticed his mother's dirty looks start to become more spread apart as she paid more attention to her grandchildren and their gifts. All Clouse was given was another Christmas vest.

"So, Clouse, any chance we'll be seeing a misses soon?" asked his sister's husband.

"I don't know I haven't really met any girls lately" his parents were the only ones of his family who knew about him.

"Come on man, your charming good looks aren't going to last forever," he says putting a hand at the back of Clouse's neck. He immediately maneuvered out of the position and decided that he needed to home in order to finish his baking. As he drove home, he thought about how uncomfortable that situation was. He was glad to finally be out of there.

When he got home, he took the cookies out of the tray and put them on a plate, then put the brownies on the same plate, and the cake on its own. He took a can of chocolate frosting from his cabinet and spread it on his cake. After finishing, he took a small finger full of frosting and stuck it in his mouth. Chocolate, the cure for all problems. He set his baked goods on a table in the dining room. Afterwards he set his dining table and decided to watch T.V. until his family arrived. He flipped through the channels seeing nothing that caught his eye. In the end, he decided to settle with the food network. Regardless of what was on, he wasn't going to watch it. His mind was far too busy dealing with other things. He decided it best to try to call him again. The phone rang a few times and went to voice mail.

"Hey this is..." he hung up the phone, deciding not to leave to the message. He looked up at the image of a piece of cake that looked much better than that which he had put together.

The door rang before too long, saving him from his thoughts.

"Hey bro," the man who appeared behind the door said.

"Oh, hi," Clouse utters, "Hi Shandra," he says to the woman standing behind his brother. "Make yourselves at home," he says ushering them in. he begins to close the door when a voice shouts "Hold it open" he reopens it to see the short stubby figure of his mother moving through the driveway to the front door. "Hi," Clouse says timidly to the cold figure besides him. He gets no response. He waits for his dad to come through, gives him a handshake, and closes the door. He takes a seat back in his living room a starts to watch whatever his brother had changed the channel to, whatever the name of the program was. He began to feel that same awkward feeling he had at his parents' house. He felt as though he didn't belong in this family. As the night lengthened more of his family showed up, only the adults fortunately, the parents were left with a babysitter. He was counting the minutes until everyone would leave, praying it wouldn't take too long.

By the time everyone had left, he was exhausted, both from the psychological "trauma" he had experienced from having to put up with his family most of the day, and also from the work he had to do to keep his house from utter chaos. He fell back on his bed, too exhausted to dress out of his uncomfortable clothing. He lied in bed, realizing his friend hadn't shown. He slowly drifted off to sleep, too exhausted to bother his mind with such fancies.

"Hey honey," a voice pervades the air.

"Hey Geophrey," he replies in his grogginess.

"You realize what you did was dangerous, right?"

"Yeah, I know"

"You're just lucky nothing too bad happened. With my line of work, I can't be seen having a relationship, let alone with another male, we could be seen as friend, but nothing more in public. They're making do an assignment as punishment, I leave in two days, but I shouldn't be gone for more than a couple of weeks," he explains.

"I wish you could just stay here with me," Clouse says after hearing the bad news.

"I know, but just think, in a few weeks my contract will be over, we'll be set for life, and you'll have me for every second of it," he says. He gets into the bed with Clouse, holding him close to him. Clouse instantly feels comforted by security of Geophrey. Clouse feels the warmth of a calm sleep begins to shroud his vision as he drifts off to sweet dreams.

He wakes up the next morning snuggling up against a pillow as he was the day before. This time the pillow had a note attached to it. "They called me out bit sooner than I had expected, I'll be back in a couple of weeks" the note read.

"And let the worry begin," he thought as he walked through the once again empty house.

Geophrey was psyched to finally be coming home after a month away. While he had finished the job quite the while ago, he was then assigned another one in about the same area. None of that mattered now, though. Now he would be going home to the man he loved more than anything in the world, once he got off the plane, he would never need to leave the country again for any reason. As he sat on the plane he couldn't help but have his tail wagging for the whole 8 hours of the flight.

The hours passed by quickly with the thought of Clouse in his head and before he knew it, he was already landing in the airport a few miles away from their house. He exited the plane, retrieved his luggage, and hailed a taxi. Clouse wasn't there to pick him up because he didn't know that he was coming. Geophrey wanted it to be a surprise. He got into the taxi and told him his address and the car began moving. On the way, Geophrey spotted a store and decided to get Clouse something from it. Moments later, he returned to the cab, placing his small purchase into his pocket. The cabby continued driving to his destination, the closer they got, the faster Geophrey's tail would thump against the other side of the seat. By the time they got there, the cabby was worried there was a hole in the seat. Geophrey excited the vehicle and paid the man. He walked towards the door of the house, his luggage in hand.

He opened the door with the key that he had kept around his neck for the past few years. He walked through the door and began to hear noices, noices he hadn't heard in a while. He walked through the house, dropping his luggage in the kitchen as the noices began getting louder. He finally realized what the noices were, they were moans. He then realized how long he had been gone, and a man's natural needs. He walked through the corridor to his bedroom, pulling the small package from his pocket. Upon opening the door his mouth fell agape. He was aghast at the sight. He saw Clouse underneath a man who he had learned to be Clouse's close friend, Tim. Although he had never met Tim, Clouse often talked about him, only now did it occur to Geophrey that he talked about him a little too much. His grip on the black felt box, that could only contain a ring, loosened and it fell to the floor. Geophrey saw that Clouse saw him, yet he didn't react to it, it was almost as though he didn't care. Geophrey couldn't stand such a sight and walked out of the room, out of the house, and into the cab.

"Just drive," Geophrey said, tears streaming down his face. "I guess someone like me isn't allowed to have a life," he whispered to himself.

...................................................................................................

There he found himself, in the middle of another job, this time he went to Russia, some person in a high office was his target. His mind was numb, he didn't think of anything except for his target, how to get to him, and what to eliminate the target with this time. He didn't keep anything of his life except for a key around his neck and a ring stained with the blood of two lovers.
