Day 14 - Tail

You're hanging out with your buddy (and boss) Nex, in his office. You aren't sure what he called you in for, but you were pretty down for it.

"So you're probably wondering why I called you in!" Nex said, curling his tail around and deploying a small spoon from the tip. You tried not to stare as he used the tiny spoon to stir his coffee mug.
"Yessir." You answered, realizing you were silently staring.
"Well that's fine! Believe it or not, it's not a performance review." He said, withdrawing the spoon and slotting it back into his tail.
"Oh. Okay." You replied, relieved the distraction was gone. "So uhm, why, then?"
"Why?" He asked, sipping his mug.
"Why am I here." You clarified.
"Oh! I had an experiment I wanted to try." He said.
"An exper- ow!" You bleated, looking down to see Nex's tail retreating from your leg, a long needle connected to a vial of blue liquid visible for just a moment before it swiveled back inside his exterior plating.
"Sorry. Didn't think you'd feel that." He admitted. "So! Just tell me how you're feeling, please?"
"Uhm." You squirmed slightly. "Not... very different?"
"Hmmm." He said. "Let's give it a bit."
You sat, trying not to squirm as he studied you carefully, tapping his chin. After around 20 seconds, he shrugged.
"Alright, I guess I'll give you two more." He said, switchblading the needle back out and sticking you twice, very quickly, on your leg again.
He waited patiently until you suddenly felt a wave of heaviness wash over you. You nodded deeply, feeling like you were going to fall asleep.
"Sleeeppy." You mumbled.
"Good! Good, that did it. So, you'll be in a fairly deep trance. You also - if I got the formula right - should be pretty suggestible." Nex excitedly answered.
"Ohh." Your eyes unfocused and your realized was mouth was open when a warm stream of drool flowed down to your chin.
"Great, so-"
A second, much larger wave hit you. It felt twice as powerful as the first one, and when it hit, you were out. Your conscious mind disappeared. You were an empty vessel, completely limp and relaxed, slumped into your chair with a quiet moan.
"Uh oh." Nex said. The words echoed around your head. You felt... anxious. Something bad was happening. Uh oh. Oh no. What was-
"It's okay, it's okay." He quickly said, and you felt his tail stroking over your chest.
Everything was fine. You felt soft, and comfortable.
"So, uhm. How are you feeling?" He asked.
How were you feeling. Yes.
"Ohhhhkay. Uhh. How about, you're going to tell me how you're feeling."
"I'm feeling good." You replied. It sounded normal to you, but to Nex, it was a sleepy whisper, like you were talking in your sleep. He made a note of it.
"Oh, good! Good. Uhh. Yes you are, you're feeling very good, aren't you?" He said.
"Mhmm."
Silence. You didn't even notice.
"Okay so - right! So - you're feeling cold, aren't you, Lenti?"
You were. You were freezing. You started to shiver, and sink into your wool. You were so cold. You were freezing.
"Good! Nice and warm again." Nex said, over the sound of excited scribbling.
"Sorry I dropped you so deep by the way. I guess I should have trusted my math and, erm, been patient." He said.
You hummed, but didn't think anything.
Nex's tail gently wriggled under your chin and lifted your head up, as he smiled at you patiently. You smiled back, dumbly.
"Well! Uhm. I guess that's working fine. You should wake up once you metabolize all of it so uhh. I guess we'll just spend some time together! That'll be nice, right?"
"Mhm."
It would be nice. Very nice. You were happy to be spending time with your Administrator.
Nex handed you a cup of hot cocoa. You were pretty much all the back up, and fully aware, but... you were, uhm, kinda faking it, so you could spend a bit more time with Nex. He seemed perfectly content to keep you around, so you didn't feel that bad.
"Hey so, uhm." You said, after taking a delicious sip of his custom blend of hot cocoa. "Uhh. Do you think we could, uhm. Do this again, some time?"
"Do what again? An experiment?" He asked.
"That too! But uhm, I meant like. This." You gestured to the room. "Spending time together."
Nex blinked. "Uh oh. Uhh." He checked his notes, and chewed his tail slightly. "Well, I think I might have accidentally suggested that to you."
"Oh." You thought about it a little. "That's okay, I think." You said, hesitantly. "Just as long as we can hang out more."
"You got it!" He said, deploying his tail spoon to stir your cocoa.
