#8 of Vacation Souvenirs

It's time for the annual Dunbar family vacation, and Austin is joining his folks for a week at a luxurious resort in sunny Las Positas. But for the 20 year-old otter, family vacations have always meant "vacation for the rest of the family" while he fends for himself. That's going to change this year, though, when he meets another guest at the resort: Kane Markov, a polar bear in his 50s who's interested in taking the younger man under his wing for the week.

Here we are in Chapter 8 at last! After a busy day around Las Positas, Kane treats Austin to an extremely fancy dinner and Austin has a chance encounter with his dad the morning after. This chapter features a lot more conversation, as Kane and Austin begin exploring the nature of their relationship, and is extremely light on sex scenes, but there's still some teasing smut sprinkled throughout.

As always, creepy and wholesome comments, questions, feedback, and constructive critiques are always welcome and appreciated, and I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Thanks so much!

"Wow," Austin marveled.

"Pretty swanky, right?" the polar bear grinned.

The two of them had been seated at their table a few minutes ago, allowing Austin a chance to take in the interior of Adega's, the upscale restaurant that Kane had brought Austin to for the evening. The opossum hostess had escorted them down the stairs to the underground dining room, where tasteful art deco chandeliers hung overhead, casting their soft light to illuminate the eat-in wine cellar. Mahogany racks laden with wine bottles and bookshelves full of vintage tomes separated the booths and tables in the cellar, creating private, intimate spaces for customers to enjoy their meals in peace; quiet, slow-tempo music featuring piano, bass, a drum, a sultry-voiced singer, and the occasional trumpet played over the restaurant's hidden speakers. The cherry floors gleamed a dull, deep red under the lights; artistic black and white photographs of vineyards, wine presses, and distinguished men in suits and women in dresses hung on the cedar-paneled walls. And the table between Austin and Kane had been immaculately set with plates for multiple courses, polished silverware, glasses for water and wine, precisely folded napkins, and a small cluster of votive candles flickering in their crystal holders, all on a crisp black tablecloth.

As for Austin and Kane themselves, they were sitting comfortably in their leather dining chairs on either side of the table in their private, cozy corner nook, dressed in their suits--the otter wore the blue ensemble that Kane had purchased for him earlier that day, while the polar bear had donned a dark, charcoal gray number with a sage green shirt that matched Austin's pocket square.

"Way swanky," Austin said fervently. "When you said 'just dinner and drinks', I thought we were going to a bar or something, but this..."

He gestured at the wine racks, the elegantly-decorated cellar, and the other diners in their suits and dresses.

"Is it too much?" Kane asked, almost sounding apologetic.

"No, not at all!" Austin replied honestly. "Just not what I was expecting...and way better than what I had in mind," he added.

"You approve?"

"Absolutely! It's really sweet of you to bring me to a place like this...although if you wanted to just go back to Taco Del Monte or something, I would've been happy to do that with you, too."

"We could have done that," the polar bear conceded before adding, "but then we would've been pretty overdressed."

Austin smirked coyly. "Well, in that case I'd be happy to help you get underdressed...or--"

"Or just undressed," Kane cut in, grinning.

"Ah, you beat me to it!" Austin snapped his fingers in mock frustration. He chuckled before he continued, "But I do really like you in that suit...don't get me wrong, I'd love to see you out of it, too, but...damn, Daddy..."

"You're one to talk," Kane growled appreciatively, his voice low. "My boy cleans up niiiice."

"What, this old thing?" Austin quipped, fingering the lapels of his navy jacket. "Just a little something from my papa bear...and he gave me some nice blue balls to go with it."

"Heh, yeah he did," Kane rumbled smugly with a wink at the boy seated across from him. "And I'm sure that ball stretcher you're wearing feels good on top of those aching nuts, am I right?"

Austin shifted in his seat, relishing the sensation of the metal ring bolted in place under his pants and underwear--the weight moved with him, bearing down on his testicles while the casual observer was none the wiser that the otter was encumbered by seven ounces of steel locked around the neck of his scrotum.

"Oh yes, Daddy," Austin replied, still keeping his voice down so nobody outside his and Kane's nook could hear.

"That's my boy," the older man said approvingly. He was about to continue, but he cut himself off and looked to the side, his attention caught by someone approaching the nook.

Austin followed Kane's gaze and saw a tall, strapping deer in his late 20s making his way to their table; he wore a black vest, gray slacks, a white shirt, a burgundy necktie, and a white apron, and he carried two large menus bound in plum-colored leather.

"Good evening, gentlemen, welcome to Adega's," the deer said genially when he drew up next to Austin and Kane's table. "My name's Ethan, and I'll be taking care of you tonight. Have you dined with us before?"

Austin shook his head. "No, we're actually visiting from out of town."

"Ah, welcome!" Ethan reiterated. "Have you been to Las Positas before?"

"Fourth time visiting for me, but it's his first," Kane took over, gesturing at Austin when he referred to the otter.

"Ah, well, welcome back," Ethan said to Kane before addressing Austin, "and I hope you've been having a good time so far?"

"It's been awesome!" Austin beamed. "He's been showing me around a lot today; we went to Riverside, Merosa Park, and the Sorensen Conservatory and the art gallery...and we also went to the history museum and we drove by Fort Colton before we did this cool street art tour in the South Farkas district--"

"Oh yes, SoFar has amazing murals," Ethan said knowledgeably, nodding. "Did you see the one of the tiger with the balloons?"

"Yeah, that was my favorite one! It was so surreal," the otter replied enthusiastically. He glanced at Kane, who was smirking at him--from the look in the polar bear's eyes, Austin knew exactly what the older man was thinking of: the part of their tour that Austin was omitting from his recap of the day.

After he had finished getting dressed and let the capybara cashier know that Kane was going to pay for the ball stretcher he was wearing out of the store, Austin had waited for Kane outside of X-Otico. The polar bear had emerged after another 10 minutes, bearing two bulging bags branded with the store's logo; he'd handed one of them to Austin, who saw his chosen underwear in addition to the extra accessories that Kane had picked out for him. The other bag, however, Kane held close to himself, preventing Austin from even getting a peek of what he had bought for himself.

After dropping off their purchases in the car, Austin and Kane had walked the streets of the West Cruz district, checking out the rest of the "gay-borhood" together. They'd browsed through a couple of secondhand bookshops before they strolled into a small art gallery featuring an aesthetically pleasing collection of nude photography; from there, Austin and Kane had taken a few photos of their own--more specifically, selfies with drag queen Velma Valentine outside of the Sundown Theater where she would be performing that very evening. Velma, a fox dressed garishly in a sexy sailor's outfit covered in glittering pink sequins, had kissed Austin on the cheek for one photo before yanking the young otter's face into her fake cleavage for another snapshot.

"'Cuz no matter how gay you are, you should get to motorboat a pair of tits at least once in your life!" Velma had bawdily laughed while Kane had taken the picture of Austin spluttering into her artificial bosom.

After bidding farewell to Velma and wishing her luck, Kane and Austin had made their way to Duke Oslo's, a small BDSM bar where a flogging demo was in full swing. The owner of the bar--Duke Oslo himself--was running the demonstration, and the donkey dom was proficiently displaying his skills with his hefty flogger and whatever volunteer had been strapped to his X-cross for the audience.

At one point, Kane had volunteered Austin to get strapped in and have his shorts and underwear pulled down.

"Ooohooohooo, now there's an ass that needs a spanking!" Duke Oslo had chortled upon seeing Austin's bare, taut, tan and brown-furred ass.

The otter had yelped and squirmed in delight while Duke Oslo had beaten his exposed cheeks red with skillful flicks of the multi-tailed whip; the donkey had started softly, helping Austin get a feel for the flogger, before ramping up in power and speed, until a particularly loud "crack" of leather on ass drew cheers and applause from the crowd gathered around them.

"Thank me for beating your ass, boy!" the donkey had commanded.

Smack!

"Ooof! Th-thank you, Duke Oslo!" Austin had barked back obediently, wagging his hips while his ass stung from the latest strike of the flogger. He'd been strapped to the X-cross to face away from the donkey, but Austin looked to the side, past his cuffed wrist, to see Kane standing nearby and recording the demo on his phone, a wide, devious grin plastered on the polar bear's face.

It didn't take long for Austin to recover from his beating at the hands of Duke Oslo--a quick sip of Kane's beer helped reduce the sting before pulling his underwear and shorts back up. From there, the otter and the polar bear departed the West Cruz district for the rest of their tour, before eventually finding a place to change into their suits and making their way to the La Joya neighborhood for their evening at Adega's. Even though the otter had been flogged a few hours ago by now, he could still feel the muscle memory of the leather's bite on his bare cheeks as he sat on his cushioned leather seat.

Ethan, oblivious to the true significance of the quick, coy glance between Austin and Kane, took up, "The artist did a few more pieces like that at other spots around town, it's kind of been turned into a challenge to find them all."

"Did he do that to get people to see more of the city?" Austin asked.

"I think that was part of it, to help us see things that are off the beaten track," Ethan replied. "Although it sounds like you've already hit a lot of the major spots around town, and probably worked up quite the appetite, am I right?"

"Oh, yeah, definitely!" Austin answered hungrily.

"Well, in that case, I'll let you look over the menu," Ethan said, handing a leather-bound folio to Kane and Austin each. "I'll also bring over some bread, and can I get you anything to drink besides water?"

"Ah, yes, I think we decided on...a glass of the '57 Castille Bordeaux for me," Kane said, consulting the wine menu in front of him. "And...the '63 Frascara Moscato?" he asked, glancing at Austin for confirmation.

"Right." Austin nodded, doing his best to act natural--he hoped that Ethan wouldn't be onto the fact that he was only 20 and still just a year shy of being legal to drink...

But the deer simply nodded and smiled, his attention on Kane as he spoke. "Excellent, I'll be right back with that and some bread and water."

"Thanks very much," Kane said before Ethan strode off. The polar bear set the wine menu to the side of the table and grinned at the visibly relieved otter opposite him.

"Whew, I thought he was going to ask for my ID," Austin said.

"Nah, I think you're fine unless he thought you were an actual teenager," Kane told him, waving off his concern. "It's the suit, makes you look just a little bit older."

"Heh, I guess so."

"You're good with Moscato though, right? I think you mentioned that was your go-to wine."

Austin nodded and smiled gratefully. "Uh-huh, you got it--it's sweet that you remembered."

"Heh, sweet wine for my sweet boy," Kane snickered with a wink. "Now, what are you thinking of getting?"

"Hmm, I don't know," Austin murmured as he opened the dinner menu he held...before his eyes widened when he saw the prices. "Oh my god...Kane, I--not to be rude, but are we splitting or--"

"Nope, I've got it," Kane said confidently as he looked over his own menu.

"Are you sure? The cheapest thing on here is a $25 salad."

The polar bear chuckled and looked at the otter. "Just ignore the prices--I want to treat you."

Austin scowled dubiously.

"Seriously, it's no trouble for me...heh, forgetting the sticker shock for a minute, what's something you'd really want to order?" Kane asked.

The otter hesitated, then sighed and looked at the menu again. "Oh, I don't know...hmm...I mean...the lobster tails sound really good," he noted, trying not to pay attention to the $85 price under the description on the menu.

"If you want it, it's yours; all you have to do is ask," Kane urged him with a warm smile.

Austin cocked an eyebrow, uncertain, but Kane nodded emphatically. "Really, $85 lobster isn't going to break the bank for me; what matters more to me is that you're enjoying yourself."

"I mean, I don't know if I'll enjoy myself a ton if you end up going broke over dinner," Austin replied with a grimace.

Kane smiled at the otter. "Austin, you've seen the kind of car I drive, you know what I do for work, and this wouldn't be the first thing I've covered for us; please, I'm happy to foot the bill."

"Is that your way of saying you're loaded?" Austin chuckled.

"Ah, well, I wouldn't have put it so bluntly, but...well, yeah, you could say that."

Austin paused, taken aback. "Oh...um, how much do you make in a year?" he asked more seriously, before hastily adding, "If you don't mind me asking."

Now it was Kane's turn to grimace, almost bashfully. He sucked his teeth, thinking, then replied, "Well, let's just say I'm...comfortably making seven figures."

Austin sat back in his seat, flabbergasted now, and his eyebrows rose in surprise. He'd had an inkling that Kane was well-off--after all, the polar bear was staying at the same resort and probably made good money from his job--but with the context that the older man had just provided, Austin realized that he was sitting at a table with a millionaire...probably a multi-millionaire, considering Kane was a financial advisor and knew how to invest his money to make even more of it.

"Are...are you serious?"

Kane nodded, a wry grin on his lips.

"Wow, so you're like...legitimately rich?"

Kane shrugged and smiled modestly.

However, Austin's heart raced in his chest as he processed just how much money Kane had at his disposal. "Oh wow, so you can...I mean..." he trailed off as he suddenly looked back at every interaction he'd had with the polar bear thus far...and as irrational as it would be to give voice to the thought that had just crossed his mind, Austin had to ask the question that bubbled up from a much darker recess of his subconscious. "Wait...um...this is going to sound really bad, but...if you don't mind me asking...you're not, like..."

Kane paused, waiting for Austin to finish, before he supplied, "Making you into my sugar baby?"

Austin grimaced, shame-faced. "...yeah. I don't...I don't feel like you are, but I just..."

Kane sighed--not tiredly, nor exasperatedly, but...patiently, as if he'd been waiting for this topic to come up.

He set his menu down and leaned forward as he laid his hands on the table, palms up--he flexed his fingers, getting Austin's attention. Austin understood the signal and put his own menu down before he leaned forward too and placed his hands in the polar bear's massive paws--they were warm, comforting, strong, and supportive, hands that Austin could trust. Kane's mitts curled around Austin's, holding the boy's hands gently in place, keeping Austin focused on Kane. The polar bear looked into the otter's eyes, his gaze kind but serious, thoughtfully intent on making an intimate connection.

"So, nothing against the whole sugar daddy/sugar baby culture, but it's not the kind of dynamic I see us having," Kane began. "There's a kind of...contract it follows--really simple, and probably oversimplifying, but I throw money at you and you're at my beck and call; I'm your benefactor, I own you, that kind of thing. And, to be fair, that can be hot, under the right circumstances," he conceded.

Austin nodded in agreement.

"But that's not what I want. It implies that we're just using each other; the only connection I have with you is a financial one, and it might be enhanced by an emotional bond. I'd be making you dependent on me just for financial support, and I'd be enjoying...companionship with you based mostly on being able to provide for you. There's also a kind of power imbalance; I'm the one who calls the shots and always tells you what to do...there's more inherent control on my side," Kane continued. "Remember when we were talking last night?"

Austin thought back to his poolside conversation with the polar bear and the vulnerability the two of them had shared. "Mmhmm."

"If I were just being a sugar daddy for you, that kind of conversation wouldn't have happened. At least, not so soon after meeting each other," Kane clarified. "Sure, it could happen over time, but you and me...I just feel more...I see us as being the other way around--our interactions are more based on having the emotional connection we share, and it's enhanced a little bit by the money. Like we talked about last night, I see you as my own son, and you see me as more of a dad than your own father, right?"

"Yeah...I really do," Austin mused, absently stroking Kane's wrists and palms with his fingers.

"And all this...it's an opportunity for me to do right by you. It's not just about buying you stuff, but filling in that role of being a dad who's providing for his kid...and maybe spoiling him a little while he's on vacation."

Austin's eyebrows rose again, but this time not in surprise--instead, they rose in comprehension as what Kane was saying resonated with him.

"I'm not going to buy you every little thing you ask for...but I do like treating you to stuff like this and getting you little gifts," Kane continued. "And if it's in my power to treat my kid to something special while we're taking a trip together, then it's something I genuinely would like to do...I don't like spending time with you because I have money and can do things for you; I like spending time with you because I genuinely enjoy you...and I just happen to have money. I don't want you to feel like I'm paying for time with you, because that's not what I want for us--do you know what really makes me happy?"

"No, what?" Austin asked.

"Seeing a smile on that face."

Austin, disarmed and charmed by Kane's sincerity, couldn't help but grin.

The polar bear grinned back at the otter. "There it is--corny as it sounds, seeing you happy is actually priceless." Kane gently squeezed Austin's hands in his own before he leaned back again in his chair, and he withdrew his paws out from under the otter's. "So, if you want to get the lobster tails, I'm happy to pay for them, or if you want to get a $25 salad because you'd genuinely enjoy it, I'm happy to pay for that, too," the polar bear went on, his tone casual but earnest. "Being a dad means I get the privilege and honor of providing for my kid, and being a kid means..."

"Shutting up and letting my dad pay for a nice dinner?" Austin finished, a playful smirk on his lips.

"Basically," Kane chuckled. He was about to continue, but both he and Austin saw Ethan with a small tray approaching their table again, and Kane paused to let the deer serve them.

"Alright, gentlemen, I have a '57 Castille Bordeaux," Ethan said as he placed the half-full glass of red wine in front of Kane, "and a '63 Frascara Moscato," he added as he set the glass of white wine in front of Austin. After pouring water into Austin and Kane's empty glasses and placing the basket of bread and butter on the table in between the otter and the polar bear, the deer asked, "And have you decided on what you'd like to order?"

"I think so," Kane said, taking the lead. "I'll have the 12-ounce filet mignon with black truffle butter, please."

"And are you alright with that cooked rare?" Ethan asked.

"Rare is perfect," Kane replied as he handed his menu back to Ethan.

The deer nodded. "And what about you, sir?" he asked, directing his attention to Austin.

Austin dithered for a moment...before he replied, "Could I have the twin lobster tails, please?"

"Of course," Ethan said with a smile.

"Thank you." Austin handed his menu to the deer as well.

"I'll put your orders in and have them out to you as soon as possible," Ethan told the polar bear and the otter. "Is there anything else I can get you in the meantime?"

"I think we're good; thanks very much," Kane replied warmly.

After watching Ethan walk off with their menus and orders, Kane turned to Austin again and picked up his wine glass, raising it--Austin did the same with his own glass.

"Cheers!" they said together before each taking a sip of their wine.

Austin closed his eyes for a moment, savoring the crisp, floral and fruity notes on his palate before he swallowed.

"Oh, that's good," he murmured.

Kane licked his lips after another quick sip of his Bordeaux. "Heh, I bet it's sweet as hell, though," he chuckled.

"Yeah, it's a real shame that you're sooo old and can't enjoy the sweeter stuff," Austin said mockingly.

Kane chuckled again. "Oh, I wouldn't be too sure about that," he said, a low growl in his voice. "After all"--hidden under the tablecloth, Kane's left foot brushed up against Austin's right ankle. The otter flinched in surprise, but Austin grinned and quickly shuffled his foot up against and under the polar bear's broad sole--"you're never too old to enjoy the sweet stuff that really matters."

The two of them sat in silence for a moment, simply smirking at each other while Kane drummed his toes and rubbed his foot on top of Austin's paw...before Kane spoke again.

"How do you feel, though?" he asked, his tone more sober. "Do you...still trust me?"

Austin took a breath and nodded. "I do, I do...I get it, you know? Why you wouldn't talk about having that kind of money right off the bat...I could be a gold digger for all you know."

"A sexy, hot, smart, naughty, and wonderful little gold digger," Kane added with a teasing smile.

"Well, yeah," Austin giggled before he went on, "anyway, it just kind of...took me by surprise, you know? And I didn't mean to say anything like 'oh, you've got to be so desperate that you paid for me'--I really, really like spending time with you, too. But yeah, it was just...well, surprising! I mean, why are you even staying at the hotel, you could have your own vacation home here or something..."

"Well, then I would have missed out on that amazingly bad job of flirting you did when we first met," Kane said, rubbing his foot on top of Austin's again. Austin snickered before Kane continued, "But really, just because I can afford the pricey stuff doesn't mean I absolutely need it. My philosophy with money is to just not think about all the luxury things I could do with it...and I recognize that's an insane amount of privilege."

"So you...you've got to have some luxury items, though, right? Like a house in Palisade or a vintage car collection or something, right?" Austin asked.

"I might have a couple pieces of real estate here and there," Kane noted vaguely, "but they're nothing too fancy. As for collections, vintage cars aren't my thing...I do like vinyl records, though. I'm not the kind of person who buys a bunch of fancy watches or anything like that--I prefer to live comfortably, treat myself a little bit here and there, and donate a good chunk to charities," Kane added before taking another sip of his wine.

Austin fingered the stem of his wineglass. "And you still work, even though you probably have more than enough to retire?"

Kane shrugged. "Sure, I enjoy it, it gives me something to do with my days...there's only so much time I can spend in a bathtub full of my own money before I start feeling like I'm not being productive."

"And I guess you can't spend all your time seducing boys young enough to be your son, right?" Austin asked before taking a sip of his own wine.

"Well, that's what vacation time is for, kiddo," Kane rumbled teasingly. "And how am I doing so far?"

"In terms of...seducing me?"

Kane nodded.

Austin smirked, then guffawed. The polar bear's charming smile, his affectionate and attentive gaze, the fact that his foot rested on top of Austin's under the table--all of it made Austin simply silly. "I'd say I'm pretty well seduced," he admitted, giggling.

"I had a hunch," Kane said smugly. He took another sip of wine before he tapped his foot on top of Austin's paw again. "Although to be fair, I think you seduced me first."

"Nah, no way."

"Mmhmm," Kane growled affirmatively.

"And when did I seduce you first?" Austin asked, playfully suspicious.

"Well, those pretty little peepers of yours did a pretty good job when I first saw them," Kane said, gazing into Austin's hazel eyes. "And I'd say you came pretty close to doing it when we first met and you asked if I wanted to have my way with you...but you sealed the deal when you got naked for me in the spa. When I first copped a feel of that your little ass...oooh," Kane rumbled while he started rubbing his sole up along the otter's leg. "You should come with a warning label, that butt's dangerous, son."

"Like, what, 'do not touch, dangerously squeezable rudderbutt'?" Austin suggested.

"Something like that," Kane snickered.

The polar bear continued rubbing his foot up along Austin's right leg, teasing the otter; in return, Austin snuck his left foot over to Kane's right leg under the table, gently grazing the polar bear's toes with the sole of his paw.

"Heh, speaking of me squeezing your butt...and doing many other things to it," Kane murmured, "what do you think Ethan thinks of us?"

Austin cocked his head in thought while he planted his foot squarely on top of Kane's solid paw; the polar bear's left foot, however, was still stroking along the side of the otter's right leg, making slow progress up to his knee.

"Well, either he thinks you're my boss, we're in business together, you're my uncle...or you're a cradle robber," the otter sniggered before he took another sip of his wine.

"I mean, I kind of am, kiddo," Kane snorted softly as he raised his foot higher...and rested his heel on Austin's seat, in between the otter's thighs. He planted his sole directly in Austin's crotch, pressing forward and gently grinding the ball of his massive foot against the boy's testicles, semi-erect cock, and the steel ring of the ball stretcher.

"Oh! Heh, yeah...and I kind of like it," Austin said steamily as he adjusted to having Kane's foot in his crotch.

"Oh you do, huh?" Kane asked, waggling his eyebrows deviously. He pressed his foot harder into Austin's groin and kept his voice low as he went on, "You like having a big, bad, daddy bear steal you away?"

"Haaah...mmf, yes, sir," Austin grunted, subtly grinding his pelvis forward against the polar bear's sole--everything below his waist was hidden by the table and the starched black cloth draped over it, but Austin could clearly envision the large, white-furred foot twisting back and forth on top of his navy-clad crotch, which was filling out even more thanks to Kane's attention.

"Yeah? I really could have stolen you right from the cradle, kiddo; you're just so damn cute...I could've snuck into your room and grabbed you, or maybe snatched you up from the park or something. Would you have liked that?"

"Mmhmm."

"Heh, you like having such an older, wiser man keep you all to himself and do terrible things to you...like beating those poor little otter balls and locking them up in a stretcher," Kane noted, digging his toes into Austin's groin to fondle the steel ring locked around the neck of the otter's scrotum.

"Mmf...yes, Daddy," Austin groaned, drawing his hands back from the table and towards his lap.

"Ah-ah, keep your hands on the table, boy," Kane commanded. "Drink a little wine, relax some more..."

Flustered, Austin did as he was told, taking a sip of his Moscato while he let Kane continue molesting him under the table. By this point, the otter was only barely rubbing his left foot against Kane's right leg, he was just too distracted by the big polar bear paw in his crotch to try to do anything more.

"Heh, Daddy's such a bad influence on you, getting you drinks while you're still underage," Kane mused. "But I'd rather you get drunk while I'm supervising...that way I can keep you out of trouble."

"You'd--unf--you'd do that, Daddy?"

"Of course; it's a dad's job to take care of his son," Kane told him matter-of-factly. "Although it's also a dad's job to take advantage of his son if he gets too tipsy...I could just have my way with you and you wouldn't be able to stop me..."

"I don't think I'd--mmf--want to stop you, Daddy," Austin huffed.

"That's my boy; you don't tell your papa bear 'no' if he wants to get under your tail or in your mouth or if he wants to beat your balls to a pulp," Kane rumbled, bouncing his foot lightly on top of Austin's crotch now. "I raised you to be a good little slut, didn't I?"

"Yes, sir."

"That's right. If there's five things a boy should learn from his father, it's how to raise his tail, how to open his throat, how to take orders, how to take his punishment, and how to take dick," Kane said, counting off on his fingers.

"Heh, yes, sir," Austin grunted as he wriggled in his seat.

Kane continued pushing and grinding his foot into Austin's crotch, eliciting more huffs and squirms from the boy seated across from him. Austin was doing everything he could to keep himself together, to keep himself from lewdly moaning like a bitch in heat and begging Kane to let him just start humping his foot; the young, horned up otter now kept both of his feet planted firmly on the floor, he clenched his jaw, he hunched his shoulders, he tried to keep still even though his legs seemed to shake of their own accord, he curled his toes, he forced himself to take deep breaths and concentrate on acting natural...but his resolve weakened with every passing minute.

The polar bear's grinding and teasing on his cock and balls was the definition of torturous pleasure--the pressure, the fabric of his underwear rubbing back and forth against his sensitive, fully erect shaft, his throbbing arousal getting squished under Kane's sole, his balls getting roughly rolled back and forth and compressed, the heat and weight of Kane's foot, and the simple concept of being under the power of the older, dominating polar bear...

It was all so good that it didn't take much time for a wet spot to form in Austin's underwear; precum was oozing out of his urethra and his balls were getting tight and sore again as they ached with the need to release.

"Ungh...oh fuck," Austin whimpered softly.

Kane chuckled sadistically. "Oh, you're so cute when you're being teased and can't do a thing about it...enjoying yourself?"

"Ungh, yes, Daddy," Austin hissed.

"Heh, it looks like it--I can see how much you want to just hump my big ol' paw...especially when I grind it on you like this," Kane growled, flexing his toes to press against Austin's glans while the ball of his foot twisted back and forth against the otter's sensitive shaft; the arch of the polar bear's paw pushed up against Austin's balls, squeezing them.

"Oooooh...." the otter moaned, trying to keep quiet.

"Heh, real cute, boy...oh, I could do this all night...but I don't think you'd last that long," Kane mused before, at last, he pulled his foot back.

"Ugh, you're so awful," Austin breathed--he throbbed hard in his underwear, and his balls were pounding hard.

"Aw, feeling those blue balls again, kiddo?" Kane asked nonchalantly, helping himself to a piece of bread from the basket that Ethan had brought.

"Yes, sir."

"I'm sure we'll find a way to get you some relief before the end of the night...or I could just make you wait until tomorrow to get off," Kane mused with his mouth full of bread now.

Austin stared at him in mock horror. "You'd do that?"

"Maybe...I haven't decided yet." Kane shrugged. "Hell, I could make you wait to get off until the end of the week."

"Oooh, now that would be evil," Austin remarked with a shiver.

Kane winked at him before taking another piece of bread. The two of them lapsed into silence for a moment--while Kane chewed, Austin sipped his wine as his arousal began to settle down. The otter and the polar bear sat back in their chairs and listened to the music, to the ambience of the many conversations happening in the cellar around them...and then Austin spoke up again.

"About the end of the week..."

Kane chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm not going to make you wait that long, kiddo."

Austin grinned in spite of the more serious topic that he was about to broach. "Heh, I figured...but I was thinking about something else; not to get too ahead of things here..."

Kane glanced over at him, now concerned. "What's up?"

"Well, my family's here until next Tuesday, and...what's going to happen then?" Austin asked, his eyes on the polar bear. "You know, when we leave...not to sound too clingy or anything, but what's that going to mean for...us?"

Kane tapped his fingers thoughtfully on the table. "Hmm, it's a good question...is this something you've been thinking about for a while?"

Austin shook his head. "Uh-uh. I mean, I guess maybe it's been in the back of my mind, but I haven't really thought about it until now."

Kane nodded. "Me neither; honestly, I've been having too good of a time with you to really sit down and think about it...it's something we should talk about, though."

Austin started to open his mouth to speak, but Kane raised his hand slightly, cutting him off

"Not tonight," the polar bear said preemptively; his tone was definitive, but kind. "A talk like that, it needs more than the two minutes of thought we've had between us. It's been a long day, we're tired and hungry, maybe a little pent up, and we need some more time to think...and to do other things together," Kane added cheekily, adding a little levity to the thoughtful tone of his voice.

Austin smiled. "I do want to do other things with you, for sure."

"I thought you would, you little hornball," Kane smirked. He leaned forward before he said, "Let me just ask you this, though--do you feel like there's an 'us' to explore? There's no right or wrong answer, I just want to get a sense for what you're feeling."

The otter hesitated for a moment, simply looking at the polar bear across from him...and his heart thumped in his chest. "Well...yeah, I do...we've been hanging out, and doing stuff together, and having a lot of fun, getting to know each other...I don't know, it feels like more than just 'I met some random guy at the hotel for a hookup', if that makes sense?"

Kane nodded. "It does...and I feel the same way."

"You do?"

"Mmhmm...there's something going on."

Kane reached across the table with one hand--Austin met him halfway, interlacing his smaller fingers with the polar bear's thicker digits, and Kane affectionately rubbed his thumb on top of Austin's.

"There's an 'us', but I don't know exactly what it is," Kane continued, his voice soft. "It's something...nice, though. I like it...and I like you."

"I like you, too," Austin murmured.

Kane smiled gratefully. "Glad we're on the same page there...how about let's put a pin in this for now, think on it, and promise to talk about it soon. Sound fair to you?"

The otter nodded, appeased. "Yeah, I'm good with that."

"Alright...in the meantime," Kane began, reaching for his wine glass with his free hand; he raised it in a toast, and Austin did the same with his own glass. "Here's to tonight, to enjoying the moment..."

"To wining and dining with fine company," Austin added.

"The best company I could ask for," Kane included earnestly, his eyes locked on Austin's.

Austin slurped on the green plastic straw, taking in another mouthful of iced mocha before he swallowed and then sat back in his chair.

He had been sitting in the hotel cafe for 20 minutes, his drink on the small table in front of him and his phone in his hand. The entire time, the otter had been alternating between pursing his lips, scowling, sighing, drumming his fingers, slowly nursing his large mocha, and humming to himself, all while he'd been contemplating the screen of his phone's notepad app. So far, all he had written was a working title for the note: Where We Go From Here.

Last night's dinner had been nothing short of outstanding. Upon receiving their entrées, Austin and Kane had dug into their dishes with an almost religious fervor, savoring every tender morsel of filet mignon and every buttery bite of lobster tail, both cooked to perfection. Two more glasses of wine had made Austin comfortably tipsy, and he occasionally slipped up and slurred a few words here and there during his spirited conversation with Kane. The games of under-the-table footsie continued throughout the evening; while Kane and Austin worked through the main course, they traded teasing taps and drags of their feet, distracting each other from their forkfuls of food as they grinned mischievously at one another over the rims of their wine glasses. While the otter had looked over the dessert menu, Kane had taken his time rubbing his toes and the sole of his foot up and down along Austin's leg; while Kane had told Ethan that they were going to order the flan, Austin returned the favor by resting his paw in the polar bear's crotch and pressing the ball of his foot against the older man's sizable bulge.

It was close to 11 by the time the evening at Adega's ended with Kane paying the bill and purchasing a bottle of Moscato just for Austin to take home; the otter chose not to ask how much the bottle cost, but he did accept it gratefully. The ride back to the hotel was uneventful, save for the soft rock music that played on the stereo and the fact that Kane kept his hand on Austin's crotch, teasing his cock and pulling on it like a gear shift for the entire drive (although the polar bear did relent and give Austin a few minutes to calm down again before arriving back at the hotel).

After pulling up on the hotel's front drive, Austin and Kane had gathered their purchases from earlier that day and their discarded casual clothes (as they were still wearing their suits); while the valet drove Kane's rental L5 back to the garage, the polar bear and the otter had sauntered into the virtually empty lobby and made their way to the elevators. Austin had walked tiredly, and he leaned against Kane for support while they waited for an elevator to arrive.

"Almost there...mmmf, tonight's been perfect, but I'm ready for bed," Austin had mused, slumping against the polar bear's side.

"Heh, you and me both...here we go," Kane had said when the elevator doors opened in front of them. He had led Austin inside and pressed the buttons for their floors--as soon as the doors closed again and the elevator began to rise, the polar bear growled dominantly, "C'mere, kiddo."

He had pulled Austin in close for a deep, passionate kiss, his breath still laced with red wine, meat, and a hint of sugar. Austin had moaned and huffed into Kane's mouth, fervently reciprocating the kiss. Hands had dipped into jackets, rubbed around waists and stomachs, pulled at shirts, gripped asses, and teasingly pawed at crotches. Tired and tipsy as he was, Austin felt a renewed sense of vitality, of frisky energy, and he wanted to start unbuttoning Kane's shirt, to unbutton his pants--and Kane growled again, the need audible in his voice. The heat had grown between the otter and the polar bear as they had continued shamelessly making out throughout their ascent from the lobby, until...

Ding.

All too soon, the elevator had reached the eighth floor.

"Mm, that's me," Kane had murmured softly after breaking the kiss. He had smooched Austin one last time before he stepped out of the elevator.

Austin had leaned forward, supporting himself against the doorway while he poked his head out of the elevator. "Do you...want me to come with you?"

Kane had grinned warmly at him before he'd cupped Austin's cheek and kissed him on the lips again. "That'd be nice...but I think one thing is going to lead to another, and you look about ready to fall on your face...and I want things to be a little more..."

Austin had snickered, sensing what Kane was leading to. "You've got a plan for me?"

Kane had chuckled, as if he'd been discovered with his hand in a cookie jar. "Not an exact plan...but a little plan, yeah."

"I like when you plan things for me...it's real sweet," the otter had murmured.

"Well, you're a sweet guy...and I want things to be just right for your first time." The polar bear had smiled again before he planted a kiss on the top of Austin's head and stepped back from the elevator. "In the meantime, I want you to hold off on emptying those balls tonight. Get some good sleep if you can...and I'll text you in the morning, son."

Austin had journeyed up to his family's suite on the 16th floor alone, still clutching the bottle of wine that Kane had given him, his clothes, and the bag full of merchandise from X-Otico. The suite was dark and quiet; his parents and siblings had already gone to bed.

The young otter barely had enough energy to get ready for bed. As he changed out of his suit and into his gym shorts for the night, Austin had realized that he'd forgotten to ask Kane for the key to his ball stretcher--he still wore the thick steel ring around the neck of his scrotum. He experimentally tugged on it, but it was impossible to pull his nuts free. Austin had debated for a moment whether he should just text the polar bear, but he ultimately decided that if it was comfortable enough that he'd forgotten he was wearing it, then he might as well keep it on for the whole night. And, to be fair, he couldn't deny that he enjoyed the feeling of having his balls pulled down by the seven ounces of steel.

Austin had packed away his suit and other souvenirs from the day before he brushed his teeth in the kitchen sink, but when it came to dragging out the pull-out bed from the sofa, he had simply been too tired. Rather than go through the rigamarole of making his bed, Austin had just flopped down on the firm couch with a pillow and a blanket, and he didn't even remember falling asleep--the next thing he knew, he was waking up the following morning, stiff and sore from the cement-like couch cushions, to the sight of his mother stepping out with his brother and sister. It seemed that his father had already departed for the day, too, leaving him alone in the suite once more.

But being alone wasn't necessarily bad in this instance--Austin realized that he needed some dedicated time with his thoughts based on last night's conversation with Kane.

So far, his week of family vacation had been infinitely better than he'd been expecting, and it was all thanks to Kane. But what was going to happen once vacation was over? Was he going to keep in touch with the older man? What did he feel for Kane? What did Austin want? He didn't know exactly, but he needed to at least start figuring it out before he had a serious talk with the polar bear.

Which brought the otter to his current activity: capturing his thoughts and feelings in a note on his phone while drinking coffee in the hotel's cafe. He'd simply been sitting at his table--he had started typing a few times, but he deleted everything he wrote, unsure of where to start or how to organize the emotional jumble he felt.

I don't know if I love you--

I really like you and you've been making me so happy--

I don't know how we can make this work, do we see a long-distance relationship happening or--

I'm okay with you being old enough to be my dad, but I'm worried--

I feel like you really care about me and want to help me--

Austin grumbled to himself and took another sip of his iced mocha. He was nowhere, just a title and a blank screen. He cast his gaze around the cafe, taking a small break from looking at the screen of his phone.

Relaxing piano music played over the speakers of the modern-styled cafe, and there was a line of people in front of the counter; the kangaroo cashier was currently taking an order from a warthog, while two baristas--a raccoon and a black Labrador--were hurriedly whipping up cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos. A couple of weasels were in line behind the warthog and were checking out the pre-made sandwiches and pastries; a jaguar was sitting alone at a nearby table and working on his laptop, while a coyote sat at another table with her daughter, both of them drinking cups of tea and gabbing away. An alligator who looked like he was getting ready to go to the golf course tapped his foot impatiently as he waited by the pick-up counter, and a rabbit was wiping down the unoccupied tables.

Austin glanced up at the menu above the counter, contemplating if he should get another iced mocha...or maybe he should switch to a latte...and then he realized what he was looking at. Beneath each item on the menu, there was a brief description of its ingredients. The iced mocha didn't have a bunch of flowery prose or a long explanation that detailed the intricacies of why an iced mocha was an iced mocha, it was just a short list of components that got to the point: milk, cold coffee, chocolate syrup, and two pumps of espresso.

Austin looked at his phone's screen again, thoughtfully pursing his lips once more. He had been trying to organize his feelings about Kane from the mindset of composing a letter to the older man, when what he really needed to do was break things down to a more basic level--an ingredient list of his emotions. From there, he could identify what he wanted to build with Kane (if he wanted to build anything at all).

Inspired, Austin deleted the title of his note and simply renamed it Thoughts. He then started a new section within the note, headed by What I feel when I'm with you. Under the header, he began typing a bulleted list: Happy, Excited, Safe, Cared for, Cared about, Special, Respected, Seen, Heard, Like I matter, Important, Able to explore and be open, I can talk about whatever without feeling like I'm being judged or ignored or you're waiting for me to stop talking.

The otter was on a roll, but he hesitated for a moment...then added one more word to the list: Loved.

Austin stared hard at the five letters he'd just typed, contemplating the connotations such a word implied. Part of him wanted to just call himself stupid for even thinking about feeling that way--who felt "loved" by a stranger they had met less than five days ago? It was like something out of a fairy tale...but he had spent most of that time with Kane, he had gotten to know the polar bear so well, and Kane had come to know him...there was a connection he couldn't ignore...

Which led Austin to create a new section in his note: How I feel about "us".

He began typing another bulleted list: Confused, Happy, Fulfilled, Nervous, Unsure, I like it, I want more, There's potential...

Austin paused, reading over the list he'd written so far...and he sucked his teeth. It was a mixed bag, one that prompted more questions for him to dig deeper. Next to Confused, he wrote Are we more "dad/son" or "in love" or is this just physical with some emotional benefits?

He was about to write a note next to Happy, but before he started typing--

"Black coffee for Richard!"

Austin started in his seat and looked up at the counter; the raccoon barista was handing a large paper cup over to an older otter in a lilac polo and gray shorts. Austin watched his father take his coffee, then turn away from the counter, towards the table where he was sitting.

Even though it would have been so much easier to let his father ignore him, something--maybe the hope for just a moment of connection or acknowledgement--pulled at Austin to close out of his note, lay his phone on the table, and raise his hand to get his father's attention.

Richard looked directly at him, his face impassive for a moment...before his eyebrows rose in recognition...for a second, Austin could have sworn his father grumbled, but it was quickly replaced with a smile as Richard walked over to the table where his youngest son was sitting.

"Well, fancy seeing you here--is this where you've been hiding all week?" Richard asked. "We've hardly seen you around at all!"

Right off the bat, Austin could see just how reluctant his father was to talk to him; the strain of the smile still plastered on his face, the pointed stare of his gaze, his hand fidgeting in his shorts pocket while his other hand still held his coffee...Richard's body language was practically screaming "Get away, get away, get away!"

However, Austin chose to temporarily disregard his father's visible discomfort and the insinuation that he had chosen to hide from his family; he replied offhandedly, "Oh, I've been here and there...mainly hanging by the pool."

"Oh, how is it out there?"

Austin shrugged. "Pretty nice, it's great for reading...are you going golfing again?" he asked in reference to his father's outfit.

"Hm? Oh, yeah, I was just at the driving range for a little practice before my tee time today, and I came back to change and get some coffee," Richard explained before taking a sip of his coffee.

They paused awkwardly in silence, Austin waiting for Richard to say something more, to ask him if he'd been enjoying himself...but his father simply maintained his forced smile.

"Well," Austin began after a moment, "are you getting up to anything after golf?"

"I'm not sure...your mother might have a few plans with Emmett and Vera--we don't get to see them so often these days, you know? But you'd have to ask her for specifics," Richard said noncommittally. "You're fine to keep doing your own thing, though, right? Finding plenty to do solo?"

Austin sighed, immediately recognizing his father's awkward method of ensuring he would be out of the way so Richard, Elise, Emmett, and Vera would be able to happily have fun together. "Yep, I'm...happy here while you all go off."

Richard nodded obliviously before he sipped his coffee again. "Good, good," he mused absently. He glanced towards the door of the cafe while he went on, "This place really has so much to do, it's nice that you're finding ways to entertain yourself."

Austin sat back in his chair and folded his arms while he continued looking up at his father. "Yeah." His gaze was stony, but he kept his tone even.

Richard looked down at his watch now, apparently more interested in checking the time than maintaining his forced eye contact with Austin, as he continued, "You know, that's something your mom and I have always found great about you, you've always been fine on your own; we never really had to worry about you."

Austin took a breath. He could have said, "No, I haven't always been fine on my own; when I go on family vacation, it would be fucking nice to actually do something together and feel like you're paying attention to me instead of Emmett and Vera all the time."

Instead, he forced himself to say, "Yeah, I'm good just doing my own thing."

Richard nodded. "Your mom and I appreciate how self-sufficient you are; you were always an easy kid."

Austin sat there, momentarily stunned--it was as if Richard had just swept away all his years of invisibility, had simply discounted Austin as "easy" just because of the neglect that he, Richard, had inflicted upon him. For a wild moment, he wanted to reach up and smack that stupid cup of black coffee--Richard always drank black coffee--out of his father's hand, to get in his face and make the older otter actually see and hear him for once.

He recovered enough to speak up again, though. "Well, I didn't want to cause problems or anything...you and Mom had your hands full enough with Emmett and Vera, I guess," Austin said, his voice hollow.

Richard smiled faintly and bobbed his head. "They were a lot to handle...but they've done so much, they're always going for the next big thing...it's amazing what they've accomplished, isn't it? Hard to believe that time has just flown and they're so busy with their own lives now. It's nice to have these moments where we can all still get together, just us."

"Mmmhmm," Austin grunted ambivalently. He knew without a doubt that when his father said "just us", he was referring to everyone in the family except for Austin.

Richard took another sip of his coffee before he glanced down at his watch again. "Well, I should probably get going, tee time is soon and it'll take a little while to get back to the clubhouse. I'll see you around?"

Austin nodded, but kept his lips locked tight--there was no point in saying anything more, it was obvious to him that his father had already decided he'd hit his limit for interacting with his youngest son.

Richard simply strolled away from the table and out of the cafe, leaving the otter alone once more.

Austin sat still for a moment, chewing on his lip as he listened to the ambience of the other cafe patrons talking and the piano music playing on the speakers...then he shook his head in disbelief.

How he had interacted with Richard just then was similar to every "conversation" he'd had with his father before--it had been a short bout of small talk with no real substance, with Richard's mind clearly elsewhere. His father had made barely any effort to connect with him, hadn't shown any real curiosity about what he was doing or how he had been "entertaining himself", and had managed to make Austin feel like he was hardly worth his father's time or energy. That lack of interest, lack of concern, lack of attentiveness, was identical to the low-quality treatment that he received at home, while his older siblings--the golden children, the favored stars of the family--always got so much more from both of his parents...

So why even join his family on vacation? It was more of the same, just in a different place.

"What is the fucking point," Austin mused to himself.

He sighed again, then chuckled when he realized Kane had been right two nights ago, when they'd been talking by the pool. The polar bear had said Austin would have to decide if he wanted to keep banging his head against the wall to get his parents to notice him, or if he wanted to move past them and leave them behind for the sake of his own sanity.

And Austin had a good idea of which way he was leaning...

Buzz.

Austin's phone--still face-down on the table in front of him--vibrated, interrupting his train of thought. The otter picked up his phone...and smiled when he saw that Kane had sent him a message.

Morning, kiddo.

Austin navigated to his text messages and fired back a reply.

Morning, Daddy :)

Sleep well?

_About as well as I could on the couch--

I didn't feel like doing the pull-out._

Oof, that would kill my back. You still in your room?

Down at the cafe, actually.

Ah, getting some coffee?

An iced mocha.

_Hmm...well, I think I've got some extra milk I can give you,

if you want it. You'll have to chug it straight from the tap, though._

Austin smirked, picking up on Kane's innuendo right away, and his dick began to stir beneath his gym shorts.

Hehe, feeling a little frisky this morning?

_Maybe just a little...I just realized I forgot to unlock your ball stretcher,

and thinking about those little otter nuts getting stretched throughout

the night got me going. How'd you sleep with it still on?_

Austin spread his legs wider under the table, feeling the solid weight of the steel ring on top of his testicles.

It was pretty good; I think I've gotten used to it by now hehe.

_That's my boy. How about you meet me in the spa locker

room and I can unlock it for you...after you drain Daddy's balls

in the shower, of course._

Austin couldn't send his reply fast enough.

Of course!

Be down in 10. Don't keep me waiting, son.

The otter's heart raced with lustful anticipation in his chest as he read Kane's message.

See you soon, Daddy.

Even though he had a deadline now, Austin took an indulgent moment to scroll up on his phone, re-reading the conversations between himself and Kane, simply enjoying a review of the text history. As he did so, he caught a glimpse of himself in the reflection of his phone's screen.

He was smiling.

Austin paused...then realized he hadn't smiled at all when he'd spoken with his father earlier...in fact, he hadn't smiled for a single second in recent memory during any conversation with his family.

But he couldn't stop smiling when he talked with Kane.

Maybe it was because the older man was genuinely interested in him, in what he said and did. Maybe it was because Kane was truly connecting with him, getting to know him, and making Austin feel like he was a part of his family. Maybe it was because he actually wanted to bring a little joy into Austin's life.

The polar bear, who was 37 years his senior, made him happy.

Austin froze when he realized just how much that simple fact mattered to him.

He knew he still needed to keep working on the note that he'd started writing earlier that morning. He still had so many questions about how to move forward with Kane...but it was possible that he'd just stumbled upon how he could start answering them.
