Elation was deep in a scroll when a knock at the stable door shook her from her thoughts, She blinked a few times as she tried to commit to memory the equations she was working on as she was reviewing the accounts of her wife's business. She had seen this dragon talking with her wife a few times now, but had never seen his name recorded on any of the customer registries.

She opened the door just enough for her to poke her slender head out, her serpent pupils turning to slits as they adjusted to the bright light. "I'm sorry, Tai is not here today so we are closed." She said, her voice slightly wavering as she looked up at the large blue dragon.

"Well that is unfortunate for Tai, I guess she will have to miss out on this deal then" He said with a smile, his voice deep and alluring, his large amber eyes seemed to glow in the morning light. He turned dramatically and added "She always said that she wanted to add a thunderbird to her collection, ." He said and smirked as he he took a few steps away. "It's a shame really, with her birthday coming up. I bet this would have been a great gift to her on her special day."

Elation's mind raced, She already had a present for her wife's birthday that was coming up. But her gift would pale in comparison If she was able to gift a thunderbird to her wife's collection. Elation knew her wife wanted to break out into the avian space and already had many compatible hybrid creatures that could be bred by or with the elusive bird.

The blue dragon dramatically dragged his feet as he walked away from the barn, "But I guess if no one is here wants to have a thunderbird in their collection. I'm sure that-"

Elation scratched her arm nervously, "Well, what is involved. Maybe I can help".

The blue dragon had to force himself not to smile too much, he could tell that this little anthro snake was the submissive of the two. Elation opened her mouth a few times trying to think of what to say, the sky could not have been more clear and they were not expected to have a storm for another season. "But It's not going to storm" She said bluntly.

"Oh don't worry about that little Ela, I can handle the storm. But the real challenge is going to be capturing it. Skittish things those birds, capable of tearing through nets with their sharp claws. He smiled, knowing now that she was not as easy of a mark as he first estimated. "Well, Big brain dragon over here you see. So yes. The first hurdle would be getting you into the sky, Thankfully as your better I am gifted with these lovely wings that could get you up there." He said causing her to frown at his veiled insults. "And then there is the matter of the thunderstorm, which is no big deal for me. So you see I am really doing the heavy lifting in this bargain, All you need to do is make the bird want to come back to your stable."

"Oh really, I am so glad you are going to donate all that effort for the 'heavy lifting'. I have always known dragons had such superior hearts when it came to giving" she said, locking him in a logic loop. If he declined the generosity he would be admitting that dragons were not superior at something.

He clenched his jaws and changed the subject. "But I am concerned for your welfare little Ela. If you were to fall, I could catch you easily enough. But perhaps you would owe me one." he said and reached a paw out to her.

Elation stared at the paw for a moment, "So just to be clear, You will give me a lift to the bird, organize a storm, and then I convince the bird to come back here. And if I fall, I owe you.. .what exactly?" she said and looked up at his large face.

"Oh, nothing major. I would give you an opportunity to work for me for a while. Paid, of course. I would not force you to be my slave." He said with a smirk. "But you might find working for me quite... fulfilling."

Elation weighed up the options, "Okay, deal" She said and held onto one of his toes in an equivalent hand shake. Her stomach turning at his possessive smirk that spread across his face.

"Well then, lets go" He said as he stood up, he saw her looking confused at her. "Oh I will carry you, but not on my shoulders. Draconic pride and all that" Before she had a chance to complain he quickly snatched her up in one paw and with a powerful leap flapped his wings and launched them into the heavens.

Elation was jostled and shaken during their flight, As she looked down at the ground far below her she knew that if she was not able to tame this bird she would have to rely on this dragon to catch her. She ran through the nuances of the deal and realized that she never agreed to how long she would have to work for the dragon. "Dragon! What should I call you?" she yelled over the sound of wind rushing past her.

He turned his head upside down and looked at her clutched in his paw, "Oh. You can call me Master, You will want to when you belong to me" he said, he faked opening his paw to give her a fright and smiled to himself. He always enjoyed playing with new toys, This bird would have pushed Tai to her limits, and this little snake didn't look like half the trainer her wife is. He smiled at the thought of having Tai's wife in his possession, a useful bargaining chip for future deals to be sure.

The Masters eyes glowed ad before Elation could realize what was going on, a thunderstorm started to materialize ahead of them, Thick grey clouds darkening the sky, the only illumination was the countless lightning bolts which arced across the sky. "Don't worry little one, Its just an illusion, but the bird will think its a potential mate advertising itself." he said with a smirk. He knew that today would be memorable, one way or another.

As they flew into the thunderheads, Elation's scales were illuminated in the bright light of passing lightning bolts, The deafening thunder in their wake vibrating her core. "Any minute now" The dragon chided, looking around the clouds for their target. The ground couldn't be seen due to the clouds but the air was thin and cold, Elation was about to complain when in the distance, a flash of lightning illuminated the massive wingspan of the Thunderbird. Elation's heart quickened as she watched the majestic creature swoop through the storm clouds, its feathers crackling with electricity.

"There you are, you big fuck" said the dragon menacingly, Elation looked up and could see a stern expression on the dragon's face. Clearly he had had dealings with this bird before and she was starting to get worried if she was caught in the middle their clashing egos.
