Dissipated down, into swirls

Of midnight blue dunes,

The beat of the nekhakha stirs

Shadows from the breathless night.

Accepting the indictment, I heed thy call,

For thou hast come to claim my heart.

Then come fulfil thy pact;

Take from me this worn-out heart,

And distil down from the loveless husk

Timeless sands, to lie safe in your canopic jar.

I offer myself unto thee, renouncing

For your deathly favours those false claims

Set in the flesh of my soul's previous term;

There's no love living that compares to thee.

Come claim me, drape your ebony splendour

Over me, I've surrendered all in life for thee.

Press your black snout against my nape,

Breathe sacred litanies into my flesh,

As you bring yourself close upon my back,

As I tumble down to lie in crooked tombs

That you alone have perfumed for me.

Pushed flat, you pant out the spells

Turning my flesh into a fevered shiver,

Limbs snaking across the silver sands

As we cry out in the echoes of our night.

Lay upon me sacred writs, circle without pause,

Wrap me tightly with your hieroglyph spells;

I surrender my life, and submit only to thee.

And though I stumble eyeless in the dark,

You'll guide my wayward soul to the horizon,

Now the weighing is done, I am free,

Though in our first kiss I could not resist

A fleeting breath, as you stole my soul.
