A night to ourselves

The black and red wolf sat on the couch, a snow leopardess in his arms. He was pretty sure she was asleep, but that was fine with him. He stared down at her, studying each curve and spot until he had them perfectly memorized. They didn't get time like this often, so he values the time that they did get and tried to hold a picture of her in his mind for the time when they were apart.

Razor shifted slightly, relieving his arm. Tia seemed to not even notice though. They had gotten done with dinner and had decided to watch a movie. The movie never happened though. They sat down to try and figure out which one and before they had even narrowed down the list, Tia was leaning on Razor, her blue eyes drifting shut.

Razor didn't mind, however. Watching his mate be so peaceful was better than a movie to him. The wolf smiled and moved his head, placing a soft kiss on the top of the snow leopardess's head. That earned him a soft giggle, further confusing him to the awake or asleep conundrum.

That answer came rather quickly, as Tia pushed herself up from him, her nose touching his. She blinked repeatedly, as if trying to get the world to come back into focus. Razor lifted a paw and scratched her ear lightly, nuzzling into her neck.

"Morning, beautiful," he said.

"No way is it morning already."

Razor chucked and shook his head, his nose brushing against hers repeatedly. The leopardess let out a happy sigh. It it was morning, that meant it would be time to go, and she most certainly did not want that.

"Okay. I'm sorry that I fell asleep. It was just...well, comfortable," she said, turning her head to hide the blush that was forming under her fur.

"Don't be, beautiful. It was very nice."

Razor up a paw under her chin and made her face him. Tia's breath got caught in her chest as his eyes seemingly penetrated hers. She wrapped her arms around her neck, placing her chin on to his shoulder. The black wolf wrapped his arms around her waist, a little confused, but not one to turn down a hug from his wonderful girlfriend.

"What's wrong?" he whispers against her rounded ears.

"I don't want to leave again."

"So don't," he said firmly. "Stay here."

Tia leaned back, not removing her arms from his neck. She tilted her head, trying to assess what he was saying. Was it really possible to just stay here with him?

"I suppose I could. Are you sure, though? You had said that you didn't want to go to fast," she said, her mind fumbling over her thoughts.

"Yes, but I think we have waited. You're almost done with where you are at, so why not start moving in little bit by little bit?"

Tia smiled and nodded. There were only a few more months of school left and then, ultimately, Razor's place would be closer to college than her parents place. It sounded like the perfect solution for everything.

The black wolf tilted his head, still waiting for an answer. He wouldn't blame her if she said no, or if she said that she needed to think about it for a bit. However, he did hope that she would say yes. He relaxed his arms from around her waist, trying to show her that he wasn't forcing her to stay if she didn't want to.

The snow leopardess just drew closer to him, tightening her grip around around his neck and placing a chaste kiss upon his lips.

"That sounds like a great plan, love," she said with a smile before nuzzling deep against his shoulder.

The wolf and the leopardess sat like that for the rest of the night, discussing what needed to be done and what would need to be moved over the coming months before slowly drifting off to sleep. The spotted feline had a smile plastered across her face and the wolf held on to her for dear life, both finally knowing what pure happiness was.
