Just Another High School Sex Story (Part 2)

The entire day all I could think of was Mark. What can I say? It was quite an eventful night. It was Saturday, so my mom was home and I could get away with not doing much. Of course, I wanted to get out and see Mark. What would we talk about? What would we do? I don't want it to be awkward. Right as I'm thinking this, buh-duh-le-boop, my cell. I open it and it contains a text from none other than Mark.

Lunch @ Freddy's

12ish?

I texted back,

Sure. Sleep will? ;)

He replied,

Amazingly! Tell you

all about it over lunch.

G2G bye!

After I got dressed, I went down stairs to find my mom. I hopped down the stairs and called out "Mom!"

"Yeah sweetie?"

I walked into the laundry room to find her folding clothes.

"Mind if I borrow the car?"

"Sure, what for?"

"I'm going to meet Mark for lunch." I said.

"Yeah, sure. That's fine. Just have it back by 2:00. You have a doctors appointment."

"Hmmm. Okay."

That's strange. Why am I just finding out about this? Oh well. I'm sure its nothing. I grabbed the keys from the counter and set out. The vehicle I am so graciously allowed to drive is and old, beat-up Honda civic. Because of the nature and current condition of the vehicle, I found the nickname June bug suitable.

It's only a 15-minute drive to Freddy's. Freddy's is an old burger shack that's been here twice as long as I have (32 years). As it might seem, with all those years of business, you would expect good food. You would be wrong. The food is as warm and welcoming as the atmosphere of the establishment. Its perfect in the aspect of looks. The taste, however, is surprisingly bland. Its amazing that theyre still in business. This, in part, is due to the a-mazing French fries and hand-made milkshakes.

After I found a parking space and got a table, I checked the time. 11:50. I went ahead and ordered drinks. I sat there tapping a nervous beat on the table, when I noticed his red Lexus pull up. I often wondered how he had become so lucky. As he walked in, I motioned to him to come over.

He sat, took my hand, and asked me how my morning was. "Good," I said "yours?"

"Fine." He yawned, "I'm just a little tired, and I had a long night." He smiled.

I laughed and looked down. He was squeezing my hand slightly. I wasn't sure what to say. He opened his mouth as if to speak, but then a waitress walked up.

"Y'all ready to order?"

"Uhhh, yeah." He said. Well share an order of fries.

She scribbled it down on her notepad and walked away. Anyway he continued. I think my parents are getting suspicious.

"Of what?" I said playfully.

"You know what." I just cant figure out how to tell them.

"Me either." I said. "I figured I would just keep it to myself for now."

"I just think its something they should know."

After our order of fries showed up, he seemed to forget all about it. We just spent the next hour or so chatting and laughing. I looked down at my cell. 1:30.

"Crap, I gotta go. I have a doctor appointment."

"Kay, love you." He said.

"Love you too."

On the way home I couldnt help but wonder why I was going to the doctor. When I got home my mom greeted me at the door. She was biting her lip and she had an uneasy look on her face.

"Ready to go?" she said.

"Sure, I just need to change my shirt."

When I walked out, I made sure the door was locked and closed the door. She was in the drivers seat and the car was idling.

"Why am I going to the doctor?" I said.

"Oh, just a check up."

She still had an uneasy look on her face. I was surprised when we pulled up to a small clinic instead of the local hospital. As we walked up she was silent and she wouldnt look me in the eye. I sat down while she signed us in. It was the worst 15 minutes of awkward silence of my life. Finally, a young nurse came through the door and called my name. I followed her in, but my mom stayed behind. She took me into a small room. It had those small table/beds for kids, a grey chair, and the thing that measures blood pressure and temperature, and a small counter with little jars of tongue depressors.

"Have a seat please." She said.

I sat in the grey chair.

"Hold out your arm please."

She had a very sweet tone. It almost comforted me. She was kind so I did what she said. After she gathered my vitals, she led me into a larger examination room. There I waited for AT LEAST another ten minutes. Then a tall buck burst through the door, and startled me. He noticed that I had jumped and chuckled. He extended his hand for a handshake and introduced himself.

"Hi, I'm doctor burkley."

He spoke loud and fast.

"Now its a simple procedure. We hope it comes up negative, but if it doesn't, well contact you discreetly."

"I'm sorry, what procedure?" I asked.

"Your parent didn't tell you? This is an STD testing facility."

I was shocked. I was horrified. More than anything I was pissed off. I finally knew what this was all about. I suspected my mom was reading my texts, but I wasn't certain until now.

Through the duration of our relationship, Mark and I had exchanged some slightly inappropriate texts.

"Okay son, I need you to drop your pants. I'll take a few swabs and a blood sample. You'll get the results in a couple of days."

I was reluctant at first, but I did as he said. Then he took me into ANOTHER room and took a few vials of blood. He bandaged me up and walked me down the hall to the waiting room.

As I walked out, she didnt say anything. She didn't even look up when she stood from her seat. I crossed my arms tightly against my chest. I could tell this was going to be a long, quiet ride home. As I suspected, it was very quiet. Suddenly I just blurted out "Why!"

Immediately she broke. She started crying, and I almost couldn't understand her.

"I-I dont know. I saw the texts and didn't know what else to do! I just wanted to make sure you were alright."

"Why cant you trust me?" I said

"Why can't you trust me!" she shot back.

I felt my own tears start to well up. I didnt know what to say. I didn't want to trust anyone, but I didn't want to stay in the closet. It was all too depressing. I sniffed loudly.

I was afraid you would never look at me the same

"Oh honey, your father and I love you!"

Her oh honey felt reassuring, and as you might have guessed, I could use that right now.

"Does Dad know?" I asked.

"Only if you want him to." She said.

I decided it was a fine time to let things cool down. It was quiet the rest of the ride home (only about five minutes) except for the occasional sniffle. After that excruciating series of events, I waited at the front door so she could unlock it. I couldnt help but feel we should hug. I think it would make us both feel better. When she opened the door, I grabbed her shoulder and pulled her in tight. We stood there for at least 5 minutes gently squeezing each other. I kept to myself for the rest of the weekend. I was just trying to avoid any more emotional episodes.

Monday

Things were silent, dark, and warm. I was in a t state of Zen. Suddenly there was a bright flash that flooded my senses. I heard a voice. It was my mom.

"Time to wake up hon." She said.

"Kay." I mumbled.

As much as I would have loved to stay there for another twenty minutes, I had stuff to do. I had laid out some clothes the night before so I didn't have to worry about it in the morning. I hate morning showers, but I never seem to have time in the evening. I could never get fully asleep, but I could at least rest. Again, it was dark and warm. It's moments like this that make me feel fully at ease. It's quiet, I dont have to think about anything, and I'm not responsible for anything. Then I hear the voices again.

"Honey, you ready?" my mom said.

Instantly, I sprung from the bed.

"Yeah, mom."

I yawned, stretched, then grabbed my stuff and headed down stairs. My mom usually drove me to school, except on the days she had to work. She works for a realty company. Anyway, I usually start every morning off the same way. A short walk off campus to get something to drink. But not just any drink. Monster. Single handedly the best energy drink in the known universe. In case you couldn't tell, I love monster. Its practically liquid candy.

After she dropped me off, I cut through the teachers parking lot to an area everyone refers to as the wall. Probably because it's a wall and everyone likes to hang out around it. No one is allowed in the building until 8:05 unless its raining of very cold. This morning it was especially cold. It was late February and I couldnt believe how cold it was. I cant remember it ever being this cold in Georgia. Because of the sudden lack of heat, only a few remained outside. I searched the few faced but couldnt find her. Jessica. Shes a scrawny savannah who moved here from California way back when. She was probably in the library. She usually spent her mornings searching the aisles for whatever tickled her fancy. As soon as I walked in, I saw her head poke out from behind one of the book shelves. She quickly made her way over, book in hand.

"I just gotta check this out, and then we can leave."

"Okay." I said.

She handed it to the librarian, who scanned it, and handed it back to her.

"I got your text," she said. "tell me everything."

She hooked my arm and escorted me out of the building. We went behind the building and cut through and old hole in the fence.

"Sooo she said S or F?"

"I couldn't help but blush at her question."

"A little of both."

"Oh my gosh! Don't just give it to him all at once!" She said a little too loudly. "You dog, you."

"I kinda got caught up in the moment. So far, I have no regrets."

I continued to tell her about everything. She just hugged me and said

just dont let him get too far. You never know when things might take a turn for the worst.

"I know, I know." I said. I walked inside while she stayed by the door looking at the newspaper. On my way to the counter I watched her light a cigarette. This wasn't news to me, but it made me realize how much people change when they grow up. before I could dwell on this any longer, my train of thought was interrupted by the cashier.

"Ees thees all?"

"Mm-hmm." I said.

After I paid for my drink, I walked outside and said

"Those are going to kill you one day."

"Not just me, you too." she said nonchalantly.

"Oh, come on. I sell most of mine."

I discovered that school is a lot like jail in the sense that cigarettes are currency.

School was boring as usual. I only get to see mark 2nd and 4th block. Plus lunch. First block is always the longest. Thats when I have math. I'm surprised I dont slip into a boredom coma. It's not usually too hard, so I can sleep most of the time and make it out with A's. Thanks to this morning's monster-run, I'm wide awake. But just because I'm awake doesnt mean I'm paying attention. OF COURSE MY ATTENTION WANDERED!!! I noticed that Cody (a cute husky) was wearing a new pair of skinny jeans. Cody and I weren't close, but I had friends who know him. If I weren't dating mark, I'd be all over him.

Second block would be unbearable without him. I have 11th grade lit. fortunately, we have seats next to each other. Added bonus: the teacher doesnt care what the hell you do as long as you get your work done. We pretty much spent the entire class whispering and giggling.

"How was your weekend?" he asked

"Alright, can't complain. Yours?"

"More or less." he said "You look tired.

"Yeah, I yawned I've been having a little insomnia lately."

"Awww. I'm sorry to hear that."

"At least I have something to think about."

As sweet as it was I think it ended on that. Its almost like he was avoiding me. I guess I say almost like because I dont want to believe it. It was like that for the rest of the week. I could never find him. In class he moved clear across the room. He always got there after me. And left in quite a hurry. I figured he was mad, so I let him have his space. He wouldnt return my calls or texts. I was starting to get a little ticked off. Finally, on Friday he texted back.

I can explain everything.

Leave your window unlocked.

How could I ignore it?
