First off, I don't own any chars from Digimon series or any nicknames that involved in this story. However, I do own a char named Al or Alphonse or Albino. I apologize first hand if there are spelling and grammar errors because it is my second language. For any greetings will be similar too the previous chapters, plus it is specially long chapter I've made. Anything else, please enjoy.

Chapter 45: Journey to Survival Final Test

Jake, Derek, Zane and Al were jetting out to conserve time they lost during the battle against Angewomon's team a couple of minutes ago. During their flight, they saw some of the Digimons started to appear from the forest. Al can assume that they were the examiners from the seniors. Most of them only just appeared from the forest when Al and the team past them. Even though they manage to catch up, they stopped the chase because of the jurisdiction limitation. Sometimes they even shoot some skill attacks but they manage to avoid it.

They flew in high speed for at least an hour or two and they almost reach towards the destination point. Jake looked at Al and Derek to see that they were weak and exhausted from the last battle. He can't take it anymore and asked to land and rest up.

Al intended to argue with him but suddenly he loses his grip and flies wildly until he crashed to the ground. All of them looked in shock to see that Al crashed and slowly lowered their thrust. They turned back and landed at the crash site. The damage was severe because they saw not just one crate or one broken tree, but several crates because of uncontrolled flight and several trees broke down and pointed directly at where Al is lying down unconscious in his Agumon form.

All of them revert to their rookie forms and quickly inspect Al's injuries. To their fear, the injuries were severe as well. Al got scratches, bruises, burn marks and a couple of broken bones. "This is bad. We need to patch him up quickly." Jake responded after inspecting the injuries.

"I will find some leafs and twigs." Zane responded and wandering off to find the healing balm leafs.

"I will find some water and vines." Derek also responded and wandering off.

"And I will find some cards that can heal his injuries." Jake quickly pulled out the deck from Al's gauntlet and browse for any healing cards he could find.

They searched and browse it for around 10 - 15 minutes and they haven't find anything yet. After 30 minutes, Zane returned with lots of balm leafs and twigs; Derek found some vines but less fortunate in finding water; and Jake did not find any healing cards from Al's deck.

Jake holds Al in case he is struggling in pain, while Zane and Derek patched Al up. It takes at least 13 minutes for Al fully patched. Of course, there was a slight struggle because of the reflexes. "There, he is all patched up." Zane stated. Derek and Zane surveyed at their work. Most of Al's body is wrapping with vines to hold the balm and twigs. "I guess we can call it a vine mummy?" Zane tried to lighten up the mood but failed.

"If only he have the healing cards, he could heal faster." Jake called feeling uneasy because he fears of losing him.

"If you want healing cards, I think I have them." Derek said while searching his deck. He found three HP disk cards that have the capability to heal target Digimon (in these case player).

Jake quickly grabbed them from Derek's claw. "Let's not waste our time." He said. He reaches for Al's gauntlet and inserts the cards to the slots. "Let's hope this works." He slapped the slotted cards and Al's body starts glowing. They are waiting for the result, and saw that the small scratches are closing up and the swollen are deflate.

All of them went relief. They began to gather some woods and fruits for the camp because they can guess that the injuries are fatal, and with the help of the balm and the recovery card, the duration will be a night at least. At midnight, Al finally regained his conscious. He also regained his memories about the test and he spontaneously shot up. As in queue, he felt a sharp pain coming from his right claw and stomach and forced him to lie down again. "What the heck!" He growled in pain and alerted the rest whether they were asleep or on guard.

"Al, you're okay." Derek gasped happily and quickly hugged Al, which gave Al a yelp of pain. Derek quickly let go the hug and apologize to him.

"What happened?" Al asked in confuse look. "And why am I wrapped in vines?"

"You were injured and in severe state." Zane replied. "All we did is to give the emergency treatment by wrapping you with balm, sticks and cards. I mean using the card and your gauntlet to heal you properly."

"Cards?" Al asked while inspecting his gauntlet. He saw two of three slots are equipped with cards and it is a healing card.

Jake inspects the injuries from top to bottom. "It looks like all of your scratch and bruises are healed quite nicely, everything except the broken bones."

"How did I get so many injuries?" Al asked.

"You, kinda, slipped off and gone sky diving with the jets still on and then crashed really hard." Zane replied and pointed at the crash site.

"I see. I am sorry guys for the trouble I've caused." Al sighed in disappointment.

"At least you are mostly recovered and ready to move tomorrow. Eat up and get some rest, you will need it for tomorrow." Jake said inviting for a late dinner. Al ate in silent thinking what he could do while he is crippled. All he could think of is that he would be a burden to everyone. He suddenly remembered what Angewomon told him before. Maybe if he could access the Glitch again, he could perform a miracle again, at least.

On the next morning, five figures stood tall around the mountain. They are waiting for the intruder that intends to break through and reach what seems like a red flag. "They sure are late," said the one with the leather jacket with black wing called Beelzebmon.

"Patience is virtue, Beelzebmon." Said the dual voice red knight Gallantmon.

"You know me, I am the type of person who don't like waiting." He said while shouldering the shotgun. "I can't hardly wait to feel how strong they were, especially that Albino guy."

"It is true that we all wanted to have a share with Alphonse." The rogue warrior with dual claw called BlackWarGreymon aka Black.

"But we do feel sorry, about bending the rules." Said another dual voice white knight with a different set of arms called Omnimon. "After all, we knew how strong they were when they were pushed to the limit, especially when all of them were Glitches victims. We need to conserve our strength."

"Yeah whatever, at least they knew that the dead line is today before sun down." Beelzebmon swirled around his shotgun like a revolver.

"Speaking of which, here they comes now." Said the golden armor called Magnamon finally spoken like a true warrior.

All of them stop of what they were doing and look at the same direction to the forest. They saw four figures flying towards them. The first two of the figures were familiar because they were Derek in Gallantmon's form and Zane in GigaSeadramon's form. The other two are unfamiliar because both of them wear full body armor. One of them had red and white body armor with golden gauntlets and helmet, long blades at the kneepads, large tails with eight edge spikes forming a ring, and a pair of red artificial wing. The other one had mostly black armor and the chest plate forms like a dog's head, wears a dog shape helmet, and an oversize pair claw that looks like WarGreymon. It also wore a cape like Gallantmon, except it was black at the outside and red on the inside.

"That is something you don't see every day. Who are they?" Black asked to the red knight.

"It is us, Black. Don't you recognize me?" The red knight asked in calm voice.

"That voice..." Gallantmon said it bluntly. He moved closer to inspect the two knights specifically their eyes. The red knight had white silver eyes, while the black knight has black eyes. "Jake, Alphonse?" Gallantmon responded in gasp.

"That's us, surprise to see us?" The black knight called Jake chuckled.

"What are those?" Omnimon asked in curious.

"Long story short, these are the gifts from the Glitch I have summoned this morning." Alphonse answered. "A new form complete with the knowledge about it. I am ShineGreymon, and he is MirageGaogamon Black version."

"Interesting, I can't wait to see what they are capable of." Magnamon smiled behind his golden mask and starts flexing his body. "The objection of this test is to reach the flag behind us. Remove it and the victory is yours."

"Thanks for the info. Are you sure that you are ready for it?" Al asked loosening his own tense as well.

"Ready when you are." Beelzebmon replies with a smile, and Al guessed that the others smiled as well.

Without any warning or sign to start the fight, Jake aka, ShadowWolf in battle mode disappear from their sight. All of the seniors were surprise. Magnamon and Black recovered from their shock and heighten their sense, and again to their surprises, ShadowWolf is already behind them ready to ambush them with a bash. Magnamon and Black intend to stop him and fight first.

Beelzebmon looked at his back to see that Black blocked ShadowWolf's surprise attack and Magnamon launched a kick and was block as well. "Here they come." Omnimon warned him. Beelzebmon looked at the rest and saw that Zero is charging toward him, while GreenGuilmonX charge toward Gallantmon and Albino charge toward Omnimon.

Beelzebmon cursed himself and fly high. He used Double Impact with his two double barrel shotguns, hoping to stall Zero's movements. But his hope fails him, Zero's armor were as strong as any cyborg digimon had. Beelzebmon's attack is nothing more than a squirt gun to him. "Damn, I forgot about his chrome digizoid armor." He cursed again and flies away from him.

GreenGuilmonX produced his shield, attempting to shield bash Gallantmon. Gallantmon produced his shield as well. Both of them met face to face with a loud metal sound, producing an invisible sound wave that could push away any small and weak object. They remained in the same position for a couple of minutes, struggling who will back away first. However, based on experiences, Gallantmon is far more superior and GreenGuilmonX is in a pinch. He produced the lance and began the pierce attack. Gallantmon didn't see the lance but he can see the flash that appears behind the shield. He quickly move back in order to avoid any sudden attack. Gallantmon's assumptions were true. He barely dodged the ambush and got a scratch right at his limb.

Albino dashed toward Omnimon, intends to tackle him down. Omnimon prepared his cannon and ready to attack Al. He quickly aimed the cannon at Al and began to charge up. Al saw it and quickly dodged the cannon when he is at point blank range. The tackle has been made. Al can feel that part of his jet wings got dent by the cannon, so he quickly grab Omnimon and launched both of them into the mountain. "What are you doing?" Omnimon yelled when he felt the tight hug.

"If I am falling then you are coming with me." Al yelled. His flight is uncontrollable and got a bash from Omnimon, demanding to release him. When Omnimon looked back, he saw the mountain is very close and crashed leaving a huge crate of impact that possibly broke Omnimon's back and nearly broke Al's neck. Both of them fall down to the mountain base.

Magnamon fly back while Black is holding ShadowWolf down, scratching menacingly. Magnamon used his Magna Blaster to ShadowWolf. ShadowWolf was focus on defense when he saw the flash coming from above his right. He quickly bashed Black away with his shield and used Double Crescent Mirage to block the beam and hoping one of the crescent beam strike Magnamon to stall him. Magnamon saw it and dodge the crescent beam.

ShadowWolf dashed forward to attack Magnamon, but his instinct told him to look down. He looked, saw that Black is ready with his Terra Destroyer, and launched it to ShadowWolf. ShadowWolf took initiative and move at high speed, leaving his image as a decoy. The Terra Destroyer passed through the decoy, giving both of them a surprise look. "That is the reason it was called MirageGaoGamon." ShadowWolf commented at the back of Magnamon. Magnamon was surprised and look back to see that ShadowWolf is already behind him, standing still.

Magnamon is ready to strike him when he heard a yelp coming from behind. He looked and saw that Black was bash by ShadowWolf. He looked back in disbelief to see if there are two of them and he saw nothing. "Another shadow?" he asked in fear for his unpredictable power. "Gale Claw!" Magnamon heard a yell coming from his behind. He looked, saw that ShadowWolf is dashing toward him, and prepare to stab him with his claw. Magnamon curse himself and try his best to maneuver his way out of it. His effort gave him a small slice at his left abdomen.

He groaned in pain, but endured it for the chance to counter. He quickly grabbed ShadowWolf's claw and perform summersault to slam ShadowWolf to the ground at full force. ShadowWolf was surprise that Magnamon manage to dodge the attack and perform counter attack by slamming him to the forest ground. Magnamon didn't stop there. He used Magna Blaster again to make sure that ShadowWolf stay down for good. ShadowWolf saw it and wanted to counter attack but broken trees in the forest limited his mobility. He had no choice but to charge his energy and channel it to his chest armor. The armor suddenly open up and reveal the conceal cannon inside it. "Full Moon Blaster!" An energy beam burst out from the cannon and blasted the missiles away and straight to Magnamon.

Magnamon saw it and didn't have time or chance to avoid it, so he blocked it with his remaining strength. It was a direct hit but Magnamon manage to cast a light barrier to protect him. In the end, Magnamon was out power and got defeated. Magnamon fell to the ground with lots of burn marks. His body starts to shine and reverted back into Veemon and unconscious. ShadowWolf saw it and quickly catch Veemon from falling.

ShadowWolf sigh in relief when Veemon is in his arms, safe and secure. By that time, Black has regain conscious and saw a chance to strike him while he isn't looking. ShadowWolf sense a presence coming from his back. He spontaneously look back to see that Black is close to him with his claw ready to stab him. He spontaneously turned his body and fly back to dodge the attack, but he didn't make it. He closed his eyes, bracing for impact. Black suddenly saw Veemon lying unconscious at ShadowWolf's arms and spontaneously halt what he is doing. ShadowWolf is waiting for the stab, but it didn't happen. He slowly opens his eyes to see that the blade of the claw is an inch at his heart. ShadowWolf began to pant heavily when he imagined himself being stab because of his naivety. As for Black, he is sweating thinking that one of his best friend accidently got stab by him.

They remained as it is for at least a couple of minutes. ShadowWolf speak to him. "I guess I have lost the fight because I save my enemy."

"Yes, I think you are. However, if I was myself in the past I will lose him." Black replied trying to act cool. "We should head back. I am tired and you and Veemon are killed in the mission." ShadowWolf nod and fly back to the cottage with Black and Veemon.

Gallantmon blocked every attack came from GreenGuilmonX. He caught something on his eyes and saw Black and ShadowWolf fly back to the cottage. "It seems that one of your friends is defeated." He said.

"What?" GreenGuilmonX respond in surprise. "Who?"

"Jake, but we don't know about Black." He answered. "And we don't see Magnamon either. As for you, you should know your situation." GreenGuilmonX looked back to asked what he meant by that, but got a direct punch instead. "It is okay to think about your friend, but do not forget that we are still fighting and we are your enemy."

GreenGuilmonX regained his balance and looked at him while rubbing his cheek. GreenGuilmonX nodded and produced his lance again. He assault Gallantmon with multiple stabs and Gallantmon blocked it with his large shield. Gallantmon remain in defensive position waiting the chance to counter strike. GreenGuilmonX changed his strategy and began to charge the lance. He stabbed the shield just like a normal attack, and quickly unleashed the charge forming 'Saber Shot' at pointblank. The shock explosion gave a push at Gallantmon's shield and smack Gallantmon right at his face. Gallantmon grunted in surprise and fly backward.

GreenGuilmonX gave no chance to recover and attack again with a ball of lightning. Gallantmon dodge it easily. GreenGuilmonX saw it and charge forward with his shield. Gallantmon blocked again with his shield creating a deafening clash sound. "Nice play, keep it up and we might learn a trick or two from you." Gallantmon commented. "And so were you." He loses the shield and grabbed GreenGuilmonX's shield. "Screw Saber!" He starts spinning around, dragging GreenGuilmonX into a tornado spin. Gallantmon let go the shield and GreenGuilmonX got tossed to the ground very hard and dizzy.

Gallantmon began to nosedive to GreenGuilmonX with his lance ready. GreenGuilmonX shook his head to lose the dizziness and looked up. His vision is still wobbly due to the dizziness, but he still see that Gallantmon is coming. He charged up the shield and aim at Gallantmon. "Shield of the Just!" he shoot hoping to redirect Gallantmon's approach. Gallantmon perform an acrobatic dive but didn't stop him to attack GreenGuilmonX.

GreenGuilmonX began to struggle hoping to dodge the assault even for an inch. When Gallantmon is close to GreenGuilmonX, everything went slow motion. GreenGuilmonX saw the lance was aim at his head. He quickly moved his head away and the lance passed right at his left side, barely made it.

"Nice, you manage to dodge our Dragon Driver that we purposely miss it." Gallantmon said. "Which mean that you are dead, got killed in the battle."

"Maybe, but I consider it as a draw." He responded with a smirk. "After the shield, I have stored enough energy at my lance and ready to shoot at close range."

Gallantmon looked for his lance and the tip was directly at his stomach. "I maybe dead, but I won't die alone. Just like you said it, we were fighting."

"We can't agree you more after that." Gallantmon laughed contently. He stood up and gave a hand to GreenGuilmonX. GreenGuilmonX loses his lance and accept the hand. Gallantmon pulled him up and got wobbly again. He quickly catches GreenGuilmonX before his fall again. "Are you okay?"

"I think I am going to be sick." He answered, trying to regain his balance.

"Let's go back to the cottage. You can rest as much as you like." Gallantmon gave an offer to him. Gallantmon took his arm and carried him to the cottage.

Beelzebmon is still flying away from Zero. He keeps on shooting despite the hard armor he had. "He maybe as hard as a Fort Knox, but he can't fly as fast as me." He growled while shooting at Zero.

Even though Zero's armor is very hard, he can still feel a slight pain when the attacks hit him. He also agreed that he is not as fast as Beelzebmon, but he anticipate it with speed booster cards he got from the seniors. He use it before the team evolved to highest form and fly toward the mountain. "I guess it is time to use the boost." He whispered in smile. He began to channel the energy into the jet propellers. The jets ignite strongly and push Zero close to Beelzebmon, or much too strong.

Beelzebmon is surprise to see that Zero have lots of boost to chase him. He even gets tackle by Zero. The shock stunned Beelzebmon and Zero take the chance by doing summersault and bash Beelzebmon to the ground. Beelzebmon quickly spread his wing to regain his balance and break his fall in mid air. Zero saw it and used his energy missiles called 'Sky Wave' at him.

Beelzebmon heard the launch and quickly turned around to see the missiles are half way towards them. Once again, he used Double Impact to shoot down the missiles. The explosion from the missiles makes a perfect smokescreen, which give a disadvantage for Beelzebmon and Zero. "Where the hell are you?" Beelzebmon asked while aiming at the smoke. Zero tries to sneak around within the smoke to surprise him, but he didn't realize the neon on his body will give away his position. "Try to sneak up around me, eh? Well, your lights gave you dead away." Beelzebmon yelled. He switched his shotgun with his cannon and aimed at Zero.

Zero heard his yell and feeling stupid to hide within the smoke, so he charged the jets and dash away when the Beelzebmon's cannon are charging. With Zero's speed and Beelzebmon's enormous hand cannon, it is hard for Beelzebmon to aim a fast moving target. Zero glanced at him and saw the chance. "I see he can't aim that fast with his cannon. Furthermore, using the cannon might drain him out." He thought which give him a risky idea. He stopped his movements for a while, waiting for him to aim and take a fire. The idea was too risky that he wasn't ready to do it, thus he circled around in the air.

Beelzebmon was an impatience type person and he cursed his cannon and switch back into shotgun. Zero saw another chance and dash toward Beelzebmon and tackled him again to the ground. "How do you like them apples?" Zero taunted.

"Freshly pick." He answered and switched it with his cannon. He charge up and shoots Corona Destroyer at Zero. Zero quickly charged up and launched 'Giga Sea Destroyer' as his barrier. The energy cannon hit the energy missile and Zero performed summersault to pretend that he got hit. "How do you like them apples now?" Beelzebmon taunted back at him. Zero keeps on his act until he is out of sight. "Crap, I hit him too much."

Zero loses his act and quickly slithers toward Beelzebmon. Beelzebmon starts to panic that he didn't hear a jet engine approached him. Zero quickly cut off the engine and tossed himself to Beelzebmon, performing a large body slam at him. "You are right, that was too much. As for the apple, I prefer cut and peeled thank you. Now, will you yield?" he asked while pressing his body to Beelzebmon. Beelzebmon struggled because he don't want to admit it. "Struggling won't get you nowhere but more pain. I will ask again, will you yield?"

Beelzebmon's pride ego keeps on struggling but if he keeps on struggling, he will suffocate because of the body press. He eats his pride and taps Zero's body in defeat. Zero smiled and moved his body away from him. "Now isn't that much better, what will you do now?"

"I should head back to the cottage if you were defeated or I was defeated." Beelzebmon answered while cleaning his jacket and pants. "But they didn't say that you could return, if you win." Zero smirked at him and bade fare well. He rushed toward the mountain.

Omnimon and Al finally regained their conscious and groan in pain. They slowly stood up trying to endure the pain. It took them a minute until they stood on two legs. After they stood up, Omnimon got a jolt of pain in his back and try to rest himself to the mountain wall and Al got a jolt of pain coming from his chest and neck. Both of them exchange look and panting. "That was the dumbest thing we've ever saw." Omnimon blurted within pants.

"Gee, coming from a mega Digimon with the power of two mega, I am flattered." Al answered with a concealed smile within his helmet.

"We guess that they were right about branding you as the most dangerous threat." Omnimon said. "You are a psycho."

""What about you?" Al responded. "You used your cannon to shoot me down and I can't use my wing to fly. Seriously, why does everyone think of it as a serious matter? We are friends are we? I am always loyal to my friends unless they betrayed me."

"Yes, we are friend. We are sorry that you got hurt. We also need to be careful since you had the Glitches aand you know what the Glitches did to us, to your partner, Soul."

Al suddenly remembered about his Minomon partner, Soul. He got killed when they attempt to rescue a village in the desert and from that day Al become a Digimon. "Yes, it kills me to remember the past. Thanks to that, I've experience a new life as a Digimon that can evolve in free will. And thanks to that, Black finally get his body again. I am sure that the Glitches will help you all as long as I know how to use and control it, but I can't for now."

"Yes, perhaps someday we may accept that power, but not right now." Omnimon answered. He quickly draws his Grey Sword and prepare to battle again. "We are certain that you have regained some strength by now, shall we dance?"

Al slowly kneeled down and jab a fist into the ground. The ground around the fist starts to glow. Al pulled out his fist and some chunks of the ground. The chunks shattered and inside of it was a large dual-bladed sword. He lifted himself up by using his sword, ready for battle, and answered. "To victorious."

Omnimon used his flying ability to dash toward Al. Al starts to fight in defense position because he is absolutely no idea how to use his sword. Omnimon keeps on slashing and Al blocked it with his remaining strength. Sometimes Al got cornered into a tree and he spontaneously dodge the slash attack, cutting the tree clean. Omnimon caught a glimpse of a giant serpent in the sky, and quickly aimed his cannon towards the sky. Al looked at his target and saw that Zero is flying toward the flag. Al struggled to warn him from the ground but he is still in pain, so he quickly tackled Omnimon making him miss the shot.

The shot warned Zero in surprise and he look at the ground to see that Al and Omnimon are fighting. Sometimes Omnimon look up to the sky to keep an eye on Zero. If Omnimon look up to the sky, Zero forcefully flies backward. If Al distracted Omnimon, he flies toward the flag. "If this keeps up, it will be endless." Al said in his mind. He charged forward and swung his blade in hope that Omnimon block it with his sword.

It takes several tries until Omnimon block it with his sword. Al quickly grabbed Omnimon's dragon arm and do the same to his wolf arm. Al intends to stall him long enough for Zero to reach the flag. Omnimon began to struggle free from Al's grasp but the pain in his back jolt him back. Al yelled at Zero on the sky. "Do it now!"

Zero took the chances and began to charge up his jets. He lunged toward the flag and snapped the pole into two. He brought back the flag and show them that he have achieved the target. Omnimon stop struggling and Al let go and reverted back to his Agumon form, out of breath.

"Looks like, we lost. You have completed your mission. You and your team pass the test in flying colors." Omnimon sighed in defeat.

"What can I say; team work is essential for this matter." Al teased him within pants.

"Congratulation on the job well done, we should head back to tell them." Omnimon congrats Al and Zane.

"I'd love to but I'm out of everything." Al joked about him although it is true.

"Hop on. I'll take you back to the cottage with our trophy." Zane offered.

Omnimon help Al climb into Zane's back, and then revert back to their rookie form and climb on. Zane got a confirm nod from all of them and he take off towards the cottage.

Back at the cottage, everyone is waiting for the result. Derek, Jake, Gatomon, and Lopmon are waiting impatience their return. "Come on, when they'll be back?" Jake asked.

"In a minute, I guess." Ken answered.

"You said it minutes ago, Ken." Davis responded while cradling unconscious Veemon.

"What can I say; it is a long distance from here." Ken sighed at Davis.

"But the battle is over couple of minutes ago. They're might be in trouble." Lopmon replies.

"Relax, Lopmon. I am sure that they are fine." Solmon answered. "Isn't that right Juri?"

"We humans aren't like you Digimons, we are less sensitive than all of you." Juri answered.

Terriermon heard a jet engine coming from the distance. "I heard a jet engine coming this way."

Tai took out his old scope to see from a far. He looked at the mountain and saw GigaSeadramon fly towards them, with a flag in his mouth. "It's Zane and he got the flag."

Derek and Jake leap in joy for a successful mission. The seniors congratulate both of them and greet the rest with joyous celebration. From that day forward, Al, Jake, Zane and Derek becomes a full fledge Digidestiny.

That's it for this chapter. I guess I need some day off for at least a month and a half, because I want to attend my cousin's wedding. I accept any critics and comments and I thank you for everything.
