Valentines With a Snek Monster

A post from Valentines day that was about a week late lmao
You sat curled up with your serpentine monster friend watching TV on a couch. Over the years that you'd known her, they'd brought happiness to your otherwise difficult life.
With purple, fuzzy fur on their snake-like body, and eight blue eyes, she is a sight to behold. Anyone would naturally be scared the first time seeing her, but you'd known her your whole life. At some point she began to appear more regularly and openly, instead of just to cuddle in bed every so often. In a way, this snake who you had begun calling Aura for some time, had been a guardian angel, if angels appeared slightly demonic.
Like the insanity of biblically accurate depictions of angels.
It was also Valentines day, which meant gifts!
Unfortunately they were hidden in another room, so you had to reluctantly excuse yourself, and Aura seemed no more enthusiastic about it by giving a despondent hiss in protest. Thankfully she let you go, and you retrieved both a bouquet of black roses and a box of chocolates. Yeah, it was pretty cheesy and typical in terms of Valentine's gifts, but you thought it was appropriate.
When you returned, you surprised her with the gifts after announcing what day it was, which made her purple cheeks flush blue.
Almost immediately, Aura wrapped you in a brief but tight hug, one that thankfully didn't crush either of her new gifts, or you. Being brought back to be coiled atop your couch, in one of many rare moments, you not only heard but felt her purr. Meanwhile, she affectionately rubbed herself against you while occasionally popping a chocolate in her mouth.
Seeing Aura happy made you feel happy, and you briefly pecked Aura's cheek.
"I love you~"
