#2 of Daily Warm Ups

A bit late on this one because something happened last night. Personal stuff. I'll say though, I'm enjoying writing the daily stuff because it doesn't hold me down.

The black and green dragon, and his ship, belong to Acer! Neroser the Dragon belongs to Neroser.

Enjoy!

Warm Up - 2

John Felbridge wasn't really someone who participated in festivities. But his crush, Mason, was to a fault. He recalled the Cozumel Fox animan having spent his 13th month pay trying out every booth in a food festival back in Vale's 98th Founding Anniversary. Not only did he have to pay for the absurd amount of food, he didn't have enough for the medical fees it incurred.

Luckily, he himself was able to chip in, and Mason was indebted to him. And that debt had been paid which meant it was time to splurge it all over again.

John felt the need to join him, keep him in check so he doesn't do anything reckless. Or worse, end up in the hospital again. The irony that this fox wanted to be a field medic.

Today they were heading to York, a small town farther East of Vale, where the sun was setting. A quick road trip on a rented car, courtesy of the fox, John and he spent their time talking about their work.

John found more work because of this supposed 'Great Flash', and was introduced to technology befitting vessels that existed three millennia later. He discovered increased teleportation efficiency, only taking a percentage of fuel to jump from the top part of the Universal wall to the bottom. Or self-repairing nanites that had their own self-repairing nanites.

This three tailed arctic raccoon animan found himself enjoying not only the knowledge gained from the vessels, but also overhearing the story from their captains who talked too loud for their own good. Stories of other Realms, other Realities, and a mercenary faction that was led by a crocodile. They were called the 'Ctacic Mercenaries'. Now disbanded though, two captains approached him at different times. Both were impressed with his handicraft and repairing methods, and he would get back to them with a decision.

John liked the pay- twice his job. Plus adventure into deep space, and this new location phenomena called the 'Ayenephosphere'. However, it would have more hazards but one of the captains had a fast destroyer, and another had a heavy cruiser.

At some point he'd tell Mason of his plan, and that he could use his apartment while he's out. The fox wanted to be a field medic for the Aerthean ground army, and that'd be two years before they could properly see each other again. Which meant there will be four instances where he'd get himself hospitalized for overindulgence.

John chuckled enough for Mason to hear.

The fox asked, "What's funny?" He kept his eyes on the road, the town of York was already in sight. Short bricked buildings that had businesses on the ground, and living spaces above. Road signs that, contrary to the rustic construction of the structures beside, were pristine and up to par with modern applications. Inclusion of floating species, wheel-chair accessibility, discarded goo and fur cleanup.

"I'll tell you later," John said, wanting to unwind about work for now. His decision wasn't final either but extremely tempting. "I just want to relax and make sure you don't do anything reckless again."

"I've learned my lesson, and it's only been two months, Jo."

"That's not assuring," he chuckled.

They passed by a sign that said 'Welcome to York! Home of the White Fluff!'. And behind it was a farewell sign that read 'Thank You for Coming to York!'.

"'White Fluff'?" John wondered, turning to the fox. "What's that?"

"Oh, so get this." Mason's composure rose with excitement, straightening himself on his seat and the drive suddenly hastened. "He's a Ctacic Mercenary who came from this black and green starfighter. A very white and very fluffy dragon, whose first deed was to rescue the Mayor's daughter's cat from a tree. And aren't you a ship repairman? Maybe you could help out that other dragon with him, black and glowing green. Might even make you a part of his crew."

"Oh?" John was intrigued by that, "What else can you tell me about this other dragon?"

"Fighter pilot of sorts, but that's all I know. Well, that and his ship is extremely advanced so you might get a knack out of it."

John's three tails wagged behind the seat.

"Calm down now, can't see anything behind us."

He settled them down, "Sorry. So a white dragon rescues a cat and becomes a town mascot?"

"Have you not seen him?" Mason entered the town proper. "Look around, or search up Neroser the Dragon."
