Over the Edge

, , , ,

When your thoughts and feelings all add up after trying to let them go. Trying and trying, but things just keep adding up and up and up until it gets to the point where it all... takes over.

Over the Edge

Free and clear,

Nothing here,

No clouds in a mile,

Been sunny for a while.

Then a rumble,

Barely a mumble,

Beyond the horizon,

Wind is rising.

Closer it gets,

Slowly it sets,

A storm grows,

But no one knows.

It adds up,

Over filling my cup,

I try to ignore,

The carefully building roar.

Another addition,

Creating the condition,

To allow it all,

To hit the wall.

And come tumbling,

Down and I'm fumbling,

To calm it down,

Before I begin to drown.

It builds and builds,

Stronger than any of my shields,

One more piece,

To destroy the peace.

Over the edge it goes,

A gale force wind blows,

And there's nothing I can do,

Than to see it through.

In silence,

My penance,

No sound,

Hit ground.
