I wrote this series to be in the view of the animals point of veiw to the outside world, and how i believe they see it. Enjoy ^_^

Light, slowly peers through the entrance of a cave. The light slowly illuminates a young wolf-fox sleeping soundly in his bed of foliage and small sticks. The wolf-fox's eyes are now fully covered in the sheet of the light, causing him to wake from his wondrous dreams. The wolf-fox slowly lifts from his bed, stretching out his arms out, opening his muzzle wide in a yawn.

The wolf-fox was a male, completely naked; standing on his hind legs revealing a dark brown fur covers most of his body and face. Upon his lower muzzle, chest and inner thigh, a light tan fur. His ears, long and thin with a dark shade of brown, contain two piercing. In one ear a golden feather, the other silver. Upon his tail, the shades of fur slowly blend from the light tan fur that lay on his chest, to the dark brown from his ears.

He walks up the slight slope of his dwelling to the cave opening to the outside. A beautiful meadow, filled with wildflowers of earth tones can be seen as far as the eye can see. Maple and pine trees scatter the field, creating breaks and shape to the skyline. A large lake, fed by a large stream from the west of the wolf-fox's cave. Upon the lake, ripples from the jumping fish and swans are displayed in a wondrous ballet of beauty.

The wolf-fox walks up the hill to the west, following the stream that feeds the lake of the meadow. Up on the top of the hill, a large cliff holding a waterfall, creating a magnificent rainbow of the suns rays. The waterfall filling a large pool of fresh water from the mountains of the north.

The wolf-fox stepped into the pool, up to his waist. He began to pass the water over his fur, cleaning the dirt off. For several moments he stood still, passing the water across his body, cleaning every inch. He then walked over to the waterfall, passing under the cascades, causing it to flow down every contour of his body. Upon his finish, he dove beneath the shallow waters of his bath and swam to the edge of his bath. As he surfaced, he stepped out and began to shake vigorously the water off of his fur. He then passed his paws on top of his head, stroking his ears lightly, grooming his fur. He then grasped his tail within his paw and squeezed lightly, releasing any water from it.

As he walked down to his cave, sounds could be heard within the brush behind him. He quickly turned around, growling, tail raised, claws revealed, and teeth grinning. Nothing was in view. He slowly approached the bushes, moving aside the leaves and branches to see if anything lay within view. Still nothing. Setting himself at ease, the wolf-fox walked back down the hill to his den.

Stopping at a large tree that lay close to his cave, the wolf-fox looked up the tall tree. Spotting an adequate branch to be used, he quickly climbed up the tree, grasping the branch of choice. Further examining the branch, attempting to break it, bending it in all directions. It passed. Without hesitation, the wolf-fox grasped tightly two branches that lay above the one chosen, he suspended himself, bringing his legs to his chest and quickly sending his feet down upon the connection of the tree to the branch, causing it to snap and fall down to the earth. Immediately following the branch, the wolf-fox released the branches within his grasp, falling to the ground, landing on his feet. He grasped the branch and entered his den.

The wolf-fox sat upon his bed within his den. He grasped a sharp arrowhead shaped stone from the floor and began to carve the bark off the branch, and on the front of the stick, a point. He blew lightly at the naked stick, freeing it of any stray bark that may lie upon it. Observing his craftsmanship, bringing it to eye level, rotating it in both directions, and placing the point upon his paw and passing it along his pads to test its sharpness. Giving it a few move passes with the stone, the wolf-fox headed out of his cave and to the lake in hopes to catch a meal.

As he walked to the lake, he grabbed a long vine, wound up its length and placed it upon his shoulder. The wolf-fox then began to tie it tightly to the bottom end of the spear he had created. When he arrived at the edge of the lake body, he looked up at the sky, it was now almost dawn. The sun was setting over the hill in the direction the waterfall in which he bathed in. The wolf-fox knew that once the sun set, it would be too dark to fish for his meal, and he would have to head into the forest and hunt a harder meal to catch.

The wolf-fox unwound the vine off of his shoulder and grasped the spear and held it over head. He examined the water closely, attempting to spot a fish that lingered close by within his throwing distance. When he thought he had spotted a possible prey, the threw his spear. A miss. The wolf-fox then began to reel the spear in with the vine he had tied to it. Grasping the stick once again, he repeated the process.

After a few failed attempts, he headed back to his cave. He then placed the spear he had made upon rocks that lay on the outside of the cave entrance. The wolf-fox then looked up the hill into the forest. He was now going to hunt in the dark, the sun has set now.

The wolf-fox trailed deep within the forest, with no sign of a potential meal. He decided that if he gets a higher point of view, he may be able to spot a rabbit or perhaps even bigger game, a deer perhaps. The wolf-fox then scaled the closest tree to the top, scanning the landscape as far as his eyes could see.

As the moon shinned over the forest, trees were scatter along the distance, making it difficult to track movement. The wolf-fox then turned his sights to the lake behind himself. The light moon reflected off the water, spreading light to bring view the edges of its body.

A gentle breeze began to blow from the south, causing the sounds of the forest to ignite. The wolf-fox now placed his hopes into his other senses. He shut his eyes and perked up his ears. If sight wasn't being successful, perhaps the sound of movement would lead him to his prey. The bustle of leaves and the grass being swayed by the wind littered his ears, filling his mind with activity, but not the activity of wild animals.

In the distance, black clouds rise from the trees further into the forest. The wolf-fox attempts to get a better look, but the trees are too close to each other, that nothing could be seen just the smoke. Curiously, the wolf-fox tilts his head to the side, wondering what this strange creature could be. Being cautions, he leaps from branch to branch swiftly, gaining some more ground, and remaining hidden from what possibly may be ahead.

After several minutes, the wolf-fox had arrived at his destination. He was now at the last tree, ending at a clearing of where the strange clouds were coming from. He then, carefully pushes a few branches aside to see within the clearing. A sight that the wolf-fox has never seen before. Red flares bursting over pieces of earth, a fire had been created, but by what. Over the fire, fish and small mammals were being roasted.

As curious, and hungry as the wolf-fox was, he dropped down from the tree and dashed into a bush close by. Pulling the brush away, he looked in all directions to see if any danger lay around the corner. Nothing could be seen. The wolf-fox then sniffed the air. The smell of the captured prey roasting over the fire was all that the wolf-fox could smell. His hunger overwhelmed him. He then carefully walked out into the clearing, closer to the fire. Upon his arrival he quickly surveyed his surroundings. Still nothing has come to view. The wolf-fox then brought his attention back to the fire. He slowly brought his paw closer to the fire, but he had brought it a little to close, making contact.

He let out a yelp of pain. The fire had burned him lightly. The wolf-fox brought his paw to his muzzle and began to lick the spot that had made contact with the fire. After a few laps with his tongue, the wolf-fox then fixed his sights upon the roasting fish and rabbit that had been settled over the fire. He took in the scent of a roasted meal, something he had never experienced before. He quickly grasped the fish from off the fire and began to feast upon it. The sensation of a cooked meal overwhelmed him further; his surroundings were a thing of the past. The wolf-fox's only concern was his long awaited meal.

Not soon after, a sound emitted from behind the wolf-fox. He quickly turned around, ears perked to their highest point. Two large creatures came from the forest. Humans, nothing the wolf-fox has ever seen before. No fur lay on their bodies except for on top of their heads. They were making sounds at each other, making contact. Upon their bodies, brightly colored objects covered their bodies, within their grasp dried sticks and branches in hand. They then immediately stopped making sounds at each other and spotted the wolf-fox. The sticks were dropped to the floor.

With no hesitation, the wolf-fox dashed into the forest, in the direction of his den. The two mysterious creatures trailed him.

"What was that?" said one of the humans.

"I don't know, but I've never seen one of them before," responded the other.

"Did you see what it was doing, it was on two legs. It was standing on two legs."

The wolf-fox quickly dashed as far as he could away from the humans, he had never seen one of them before, and he didn't know what they were capable of, or want to find out for that matter. All he wanted to do was dash to his den, and hide away. The wolf-fox looked behind himself, the humans were far in the distance, he was making some good space between them, and perhaps he could escape. He then focused his attention ahead of himself. The lake was in view. The wolf-fox picked up speed and dashed for his cave, the rock body was now close by.

The wolf-fox immediately dashed into his cave's entrance and ran deep within, to the end of it where his bed lay.

"Where did it go? Do you see it?" asked one of the humans.

The other human then lowered himself close to the ground. He reached behind him and retrieved a flashlight. He flicked it on and shuns the light on the ground. "There! It left us some tracks." They looked at each other and smiled. "Did you bring the tranquilizers?"

The other human nodded. "Good thing I did eh?"

The humans then headed in the direction of the tracks.

The wolf-fox lay in his den, now shivering with fear, panting heavily from his run. He then looked up to the entrance of his cave. It seemed he had escaped, until the light from the flashlight showed itself at the entrance. Soon after the humans were standing at the entrance to the wolf-fox's cave. They lifted the light to bring the wolf-fox into full view.

"There it is!" one human said. "And he cornered himself for us. Perfect!"

The wolf-fox, now cornered with no way to run, there was only one thought in his mind, self-defense. He grinned his teeth and began to growl and bark loudly at the humans. The wolf-fox dropped to all fours, and prepared to leap at his enemy.

"Quickly," shouted the human holding the light. "He looks angry. Better do this quick."

"Got it," said the other human. He then lifted his hands with the tranquilizer gun in hand, taking aim. He then pulled the trigger; a loud noise came from the shot. A direct hit, the tranquilizer stuck the wolf-fox in his arm.

The wolf-fox then leaped fiercely at the humans were pursuing him. In mid air, another shot was fired, this one striking him in his open chest. At the end of his jump he had successfully knocked one of the humans down and dashed back into the darkness, this time to the lake.

"Are you alright?" one of the humans asked concerning.

"Yeah, I'm fine, he just grazed my chest. Where did it go?"

"Down by the lake bed," the human standing said. He held out his hand, "quickly, he can't get too far."

The human that was on the floor then grasped the others hand and they jogged into the forest, perusing the wolf-fox.

Deep into the forest, riding close to the lake bed, the wolf-fox continued to run with all the energy he had. He began to swerve and trip over himself. The tranquilizers were now starting to take affect. His vision becoming hazy and unfocused. The wolf-fox then stopped running, he could hardly move. Before collapsing to the ground, he let out a deep howl to the night sky.
