Part 4
Too good to be true

A few weeks went by and Skyler and Leo continued to date, but thinking about how his friends and family might react scared the hell out of Leo. He didn't have many friends and the thought of loosing them tore him apart. His emotions were up and down each day, he would be happy in the morning but by night he was upset.
It was Friday night and Leo and Skyler were on a date. They sat in a booth inside an Applebees restaurant. Their plates were almost empty and Leo kept looking down at the table.
Skyler felt bad for Leo, seeing him upset, upset him as well. Leo wouldn't tell him what was wrong and Skyler didn't want to push him into telling him, but they had been dating for a month now and it was time for Skyler to help out Leo.
"Leo, what's wrong?" Skyler asked.
"I don't wanna say." Leo didn't look up from the table.
"Leo, look at me." He said in a stern but caring voice, waiting for Leo to look at him. "Now, tell me what's wrong."
"Its stupid." Leo shook his head and looked away again.
"Well whatever it is, it's upsetting you and I want to help you."
"It's my family... and friends." His voice shook slightly as he spoke.
"What about them? Did you tell them? How did they react?"
"I didn't tell them, that's the thing. I don't know how they're going to react." Leo's eyes widened as he told Skyler.
"That's what's been bothering you?" Skyler was slightly shocked that, that was what was bothering him. Leo shook his head, and didn't say anything. "If your friends don't support you, then they aren't your real friends."
"I guess you make a good point."
"And your family will love you no matter what."
"I hope so." Leo replied to Skyler. Then Leo's friend Steffan walked by their table.
"Leo?" Steffan asked.
"Hey, Steffan." Leo replied to the Wolf.
"We haven't talked in a while." He looked over and saw Skyler. "Who's your friend?"
"This is Skyler..." He took in a deep breath. "...My boyfriend." Steffan's eyes went wide and his eyebrows raised. Leo let out a sigh and said, "Yeah, there's a lot we need to catch up on."
Steffan cleared his throat. "Yeah... Uh... I'll call you so we can catch up."
"OK."
Steffan started to walk away but stopped himself. "We're still cool. I just want you to know that."
Leo let out a quiet sigh of relief. "Thanks, Bro." Leo replied and Steffan walked off to his table. Leo looked back to Skyler.
"See. Everything turned out OK." Skyler told his Husky.
"You were right." Leo looked outside as the sun began to set. "Come on, I wanna take you somewhere." Leo stood up, pulled out his wallet and pulled cash out to pay the check. He then grabbed Skyler's paw and walked out to his car. They got into the car and they took off out of the parking lot.
"I'm glad to see you in a better mood." Skyler looked at Leo from the passenger seat.
"Me too. When Steffan said that we were still cool, it just gave me a huge boost."
"Good." Skyler smiled and looked out the front windshield. The sun was a warm orange on the horizon as it set behind the trees. It was a warm night as the black night sky made its way across the sky.
They drove for about fifteen minutes on the same road. The sunlight disappeared completely leaving a pitch black sky.
"Where are you taking me?" Skyler was intrigued about where they were going.
"Here." Leo said as the car came to a stop. He dropped the top revealing the star lit sky.
Skyler looked up at the night sky. "It's beautiful."
"I found this spot last week when my car got a flat. I was just waiting for the right moment to bring you here." Leo looked up into the clear sky for a minute. He looked back down at Skyler and Skyler looked at him. "I want to give you something." Leo dug into his pocket and pulled out the necklace he bought a month ago.
"Does that say what I think it says?"
"Yes. Now I know we haven't been dating for that long, but this just makes me think of you, and you have been so nice and patient with me lately." Leo smiled at Skyler.
"I can't take your necklace, Leo."
"I want you to have it." He took Skyler's paw, put the necklace in his paw and closed it.
Skyler smiled and then blushed. "Thanks." He put the necklace on and looked back at Leo. He looked deep into Leo's eyes and felt butterflies in his stomach.
Leo looked deep into Skyler's eyes and felt a strong attraction to him. His heart started to beat faster and faster as him and Skyler moved closer together. Just as they were about to have their first kiss a storm cloud came overhead and started to pour.
Leo turned on the car and put the top up. "Well that came out of no where." He looked at Skyler and then said, "How about we head back to my place."
"That's cool." Skyler replied. He watched as Leo put the car into gear and drove off. "Man, that was so perfect. We almost had our first kiss." Skyler thought to himself.
"Stupid rain!" Leo thought to himself as he came to a stop light. "Well, there's my house. It's not the perfect scene, but we will have each other" They sat in silence the rest of the way to Leo's house.
When they got to Leo's house, they walked inside and Neo was walking by the front door as they walked in.
"Hey, guys."
"Hey, Neo." Skyler said as he scratched the top of his head.
As Skyler scratched his head Neo noticed the necklace. He then thought, "Isn't that Leo's necklace? Why is Skyler wearing it?" He stared intensely into the necklace, lost in his thought.
Leo noticed and he motioned Skyler to head upstairs with him. They walked upstairs and into Leo's room. Leo shut the door and he sat down on the bed. He looked over at Skyler who was sitting at Leo's computer desk.
"Care if I check my Facebook really fast. I need to update something."
"Go ahead." Leo said as he stood up and walked over to Skyler. "Hold on just one second." He leaned in and clicked on the Facebook shortcut on the desktop. It automatically signed him in and Leo changed his status to 'in a relationship'.
"Hey. You beat me to it." Skyler told Leo.
"I know." Leo walked over to the bed, laid down and turned on the TV. He folded his paws under his head and waited for Skyler.
When Skyler finished he walked over and laid next to Leo. Leo put his right arm around Skyler and they cuddled as they watched TV. After a few minutes Skyler looked at Leo. They looked deep into each other's eyes and they felt like they did earlier. They leaned in to each other and closed their eyes and kissed.
Leo's heart beat faster and faster. He slowly inhaled and ran his paw through Skyler's mane. He slowly slid his tongue into Skyler's mouth. After a quick second they broke the kiss and looked at each other.
Across the hall Neo was in his room on the computer. He was on facebook, Instant Messaging his girlfriend. In the background he noticed Leo's status change to 'in a relationship'. He figured he would talk to him later about it. He continued to message his girlfriend for a few more minutes. Then Skyler's status changed to 'in a relationship'. Then Neo started to think, again. "Leo bought the store's last necklace. Skyler is wearing the same exact necklace. They are both with each other all the time, and both of their status' have changed." Neo started to connect the dots and his mind raced. "Wait a minute." He messaged his girlfriend telling her he would be back. He then stood up and walked out of the room.
Skyler laid on top of Leo as they made out on the bed. Leo continued to run his paw through Skyler's mane. The Lion broke the kiss and smiled at his boyfriend. "I love it when you do that." Skyler smiled and then started to make out with Leo again.
Then Leo's bedroom door burst open and Neo stood in the doorway. The sudden sound made Skyler jump off of Leo. They looked at Neo with wide eyes, in shock. Leo looked like he just saw a ghost, he didn't know what to do.
Leo's heart raced, he started to sweat and he was panting as he said, "Uh... Neo..." Something inside Leo, told his to cry, panic, do something, but he just sat there.
Neo stepped deeper into the room and shut the door. "So, Leo. How long has this been going on for?" The tone in Neo's voice was normal, not disappointed or upset or anything.
"For about a month now." Leo sat up with his legs crossed underneath him. His head was low, like he was about to cry. "I'm... I'm sorry."
Neo walked closer to his twin brother. "There's nothing to be sorry about. You did nothing wrong."
"But... I'm gay."
"And there's nothing wrong with that. You're my brother, I'll love you no matter what." Neo hugged his brother. "I'll give you and Skyler some privacy." Neo smiled as he walked out of the room.
Leo sat there for a moment, until Skyler crawled next to him. "You alright?"
"Yeah." Leo looked over to Skyler and smiled.
"Your brother took it well."
"Yeah, almost too well." He stood up and walked towards the door. "I'll be right back." He opened the door and walked across the hall to Neo's room. He opened the door and walked into his room.
"Hey, Leo?" Neo was confused as to why Leo was there.
"What's your deal." Leo, had an angry tone in his voice.
"What do you mean?"
"You just took that way too well. I want to know how you really feel."
"I'm happy for you bro. It doesn't bother me if you're gay. I wont treat you any different."
"I just feel like you're making this way to easy. Like you might blackmail me now" Leo's voice softened.
Neo started to laugh. "Really, Leo? Blackmail? I just want you to be happy." He looked at Leo and smiled. "Your boyfriend is in there waiting for you."
Leo smiled and said, "Thanks Neo." Leo walked to the door.
"And Leo." Neo said to Leo, who stopped and turned around. "You might wanna lock your door."
"Will do." Leo laughed and he walked out of the room and across the hall. He walked into his room and locked his door.
"So what was that about?" Skyler asked Leo.
Leo walked over to Skyler and kissed him. When he broke the kiss he said, "I just needed to check something." He crawled up onto the bed and kissed Skyler again.
