Prologue
Ages ago, deep in the heart of the north lay the Kingdom of Aróese. The Kingdom represented the combined might of the three great powers of the north: the bellicose Wolves, the nomadic Huskies, and the ever aloof Samoyeds, come together under the legendary wolf, Sigmund the Dragonslayer. As the fierce reptiles had begun their push outward from the south, Sigmund had been the first to take a stand in the legendary White Fang Keep. Whereas the dragons had easily displaced the northernmost nomads, they had met a dauntless foe in Sigmund. Claiming victory over the fearsome black dragon general known only as Obsidian, Sigmund and his White Fangs had so impressed the other races that the Samoyeds solemnly swore allegiance and the Huskies began frequenting Wolfen cities to pay their respects and to trade. But that is a tale for another time.
