Chapter 13: Can Platinum Feel Pain?

By: Mirron Tenshi

"Actually, go back to the others." Gary gasped as eyes widened in surprise. He continued to tremble as the statement hung in the air.

However.

Gary was not the only one surprised.

Necro's eyes went wide as his irises shrunk and his mouth fell agape. The hyena started shaking as he slowly tilted his head around. His nerves went ice cold as his yellow eyes moved to his right side.

The white lion stood there. He was holding a katana in each paw. His arms were outstretched and the blades were crossed at the tips. The ends of the swords were pressing up against Necro's neck.

The dark hyena started whimper and shake as Platinum stood there with his perpetual gaze.

"Well. Go on. You heard me, didn't you? Put your clothes back on and go back to the others." Gary moved his foot. Necro had then whirled around and held the snow leopard in a half nelson. The gun was then pressed on his head.

"Stay back! Stay back or I'll shoot him, I SWEAR! He's mine! He belongs to me now!!" In flash of a movement, the gun's shaft was sliced through. The lion then stabbed his arm, forcing Necro's limb to sway and letting Gary loose. "N-" A flash of silver, and the hyena yelped, his whole right ear flying clean off his head. As he howled in pain, Gary quickly put his clothes back on and ran to Mark and Jason.

The hyena lunged after the young feline, but the white lion jabbed him aside with the bottom of his sword handle. Necro then whipped out two mid-sized broadswords and held them backwards, determined to kill his old rival. A long, creepy grin quickly dawned on Platinum's face.

"Once again, old friend. Are you ready to bare agony again?"

Necro's left eye twitched before he jumped forward, drawing his left arm to his right as if to slash Platinum by thrusting his arm outwards. Platinum blocked the sword and sliced the katana towards Necro's other side. Necro clanged the blades together and flung his arms out to throw Platinum off.

"Gary . . . Do you remember the day you lost everything?" The lion spoke out loud, as if the snow leopard was right in the room with him and Necro. As he talked, the hyena didn't here a word of it. The clanging of the blades proved that he could not focus on anything else.

"Everyone who loved you was taken away from you by the flame." They fought more, both of them getting in a cut or two now and then. "Your past, your present, your family. Everything was destroyed in the fire."

An albino lion was rushing through the building a yellow jacket, yellow trousers, boots, and a red helmet on, standard firefighter uniform. Embers and flames were everywhere, not to mention the smoke. He coughed as he looked into each room, the burning on the verge of collapse at any given second.

"Is anybody in here?! Anyone!! Hello!" Platinum called out constantly as to make sure that there was no one left behind. He yelled in every room, trying all he can to ensure the survivors were out. When no one answered, he turned and took a step and was about to make a dash for it when his ears twitched.

He jerked around and stood completely still. Somewhere in the crackling, burning wood, a cry was seeping through the inferno. Platinum wasted absolutely no time as he jetted back. As he made his way rapidly through the burning house, he started to distinguish that an infant was crying.

He finally located the source. He gasped out loud when he saw two blackened carcasses laid out on the floor. His insides churned with fearful darkness as the fire devoured the lifeless figures.

His attention was brought back by the crying. However, the noise was now coughing violently, hacking as a small bundle in a crib struggled to make the only noise he knew how to make, calling for his mama and daddy to come and make the heat and the burning in his eyes go away.

The cries came to fruition as the white lion quickly picked up the baby and jetted out. Evading every crawling hot cinder that toppled the surroundings, Platinum spotted his opening: an open window!

With one final leap of faith, the inside of the house exploded inside just as Platinum passed below the window ledge. The house being a two story building, the lion landed perfectly on his feet, squatting to absorb the impact painlessly

"Platinum! There were no survivors." Another firefighter was walking towards the lion when he saw him holding a bundle of a white blanket, the inside moving slightly. "Wait . . . Platinum, did you-"

"Yes. The parents were already dead when I found him." He then unwrapped a corner of the blanket so that the baby could have a breath of fresh air. The cub gasped and cried as the event left him traumatized. The lion stroked the kitten's head, the baby calming down when the horrible heat was gone. It then opened its orb-like eyes, the eyes a beautiful shade of royal blue. The snow leopard kitten sniffled as a tiny paw reached up and batted at the lion's muzzle, trying to at least touch him before pulling his paw back. The cub was still in a delicate state of emotion where he could cry all over again, beginning to coo and whimper slightly

"Its alright, little one, its-" He stopped there. In that instant, he was then brought all the way back to when he was no older than what he was holding in his arms. Blue eyes, looking up, trying to reach to ensure if everything was real, whimpering and tearing up as he was overwhelmed from the danger he was in.

Platinum felt as though a hundred, icy needles pierced his heart, his body trembling as everything he had worked so hard to suppress re-surfaced all at once.

For this first time in ages, tears begun to travel on Platinum's cheeks. "No . . . ! Not again . . . ! Not again . . . ! I can't bare it again . . . ! It's too much that I can handle . . . ! I don't want to see them die anymore . . .!" He leaned forward as he cried freely. His mind was at the point of tearing to shreds as he was forced to relive every second of what the leopard went though. Even though he was just a kitten, somehow, Platinum had every detail engraved in his mind. Just looking at the cub in his arms was driving him to the brink of insanity.

The other firefighter saw this. He's known Platinum for a while, so him shattering out of nowhere like this was a bad sign. He then knelt down and slipped his paws to the bundle. Gently, the man then took the snow leopard from the lion. Platinum made no protests; his body was unresponsive as his mind was too busy trying to hold everything together all at once.

"That is how we are alike. We are the same, you and I, Gary. You hold a bond to me that I can't or won't sever. I couldn't take it then, but I can keep it strong now."

Platinum jumped back when he parried one of Necro's swings. The then stepped his right leg back, his left leg bending at the knee slightly, held his arms back with both arms at 120 degree angles, the katana blades held pointing outward. He leaned his torso forward, making his stance.

"Tenshi Lotus Art: Judgment of Archangel."

When Necro saw Platinum put his leg back, he knew he wouldn't stand a chance if he didn't counter it the right way. So he spread his legs apart, held his broadswords out while still holding them reversed

"Kiyato Hand Art: Wrath of Ragnarok."

Gary rushed over to Mark and Jason and knelt down them. "You guys ok?" Jason was clutching his leg, his eyes clinched shut as blood seeped between his fingers, while Mark . . . Well, not much. He had stared up ahead straight after Platinum. He had watched the two fight it out and were now taking up stances.

"Before Platinum came, I was shot in the leg, and Mark's right arm."

"Fuck. Hang on." Gary had then slung his Medical Pack around and unzipped it. He had then taken out peroxide, bandages, and other cleaning materials, and set to work on Jason's leg.

After much grunting, painful hissing, the snow leopard had finished wrapping up Mark's arm. "There. Lucky for you guys, there's no nerve damage, seeing as you two can still move."

"Thanks, Gary." Jason said as he then held at the wall to get up, grunting as he tried to support himself. "C-C'mon. We need to find some-"

"BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!"

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

All three boys shot their heads around.

Now, here's something about Mark; some nights, he still has nightmares of when Roy almost killed him, the dreams of horror always ending with a loud gunshot. Ever since then, he has developed a phobia of gunshots.

Mark froze where he sat as he looked at the only thing that was protecting them get shot; drops of blood splattered forth as the bullets pierced into the white lion. Their only hope has been shot 6 times! That moment caused the fox to freeze in this state of terror. While being shot had horrified him enough, now having to see their only defender getting shot has now put him in a state of trauma.

"Judgment of Archangel"

"Wrath of Ragnarok"

In an instant, the lion the leaped forward, his blades in a scissor slice. The scissor slice was blocked with a flash of rotation of the broad swords. Platinum doubled back and bounded sideways, and then leaped in a rapid spinning slash with both katana blades held parallel. Like a wheel of flashing metal, Necro had broadsword had stopped the corkscrew spin and the other sword stabbed through the air. Platinum slide the blades against each other, prompting another bound and twister leap, Necro's swords spinning and humming as both attempted to destroy each other, the hyena trying to ravage, while the lion was attempting to slice.

This leaping, lunging, parrying, clanging of blades, and sometimes slashing each other went on. With every slash that Necro took, he yelped and growled and retaliated. However, whenever he had hit Platinum, the lion would not so much as grimace. The fact that Platinum couldn't seem to feel pain was freaking the hyena out. It all made him fight more savagely, determined to make his enemy suffer.

They both continued with their own fighting styles. As the blades flew at the two furs, Platinum was eagle eyed for the slightest flaw the Necro could make.

'If I can find one opening . . . One distraction . . . One mistake . . .' At one moment, the swords clanged against each other, Necro's wrist had then panged. 'There!'

In one flash, one blade penetrated each fighter. Platinum's face was as blank as ever with the exception of his eyes widened from the opportunity just now; while Necro's face was the exact opposite. His eyes wide, his mouth gaping, the hyena yelped as he was stabbed, pain circulating in his side. However, he pulled the katana out, tossing the bloody weapon aside and looked at the lion.

Fear gripped him as he saw that Platinum seemed to feel no pain. "You . . ." A dark paw darted into his side. ". . . Why . . ." A shaking pair of paws held up a gun. "Why won't you die . . . ?!" Platinum wrapped his paw around the broadsword and pulled it out, tossing it aside. "Why won't you hurt . . . ?!" He clicked the gun. The white feline took one step.

"Why-won't-you-BLEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!" BANG! Platinum's right shoulder was shot. BANG! Platinum's left quadricep was shot. BANG! His right ankle. BANG! His right hip. BANG! His left pectoral. BANG! His left wrist. With each shot, blood spurted as each part that was shot jerked.

A minute passes by. Platinum stood motionless, blood trailing his bullet punctures. Necro's face lightens as he began to think his enemy has been finally annihilated. He was beginning to giggle and laugh maniacally.

The lion's head then slowly lifted. The shadows shading his eyes trailed off as the light reflected his paled, blue eyes. The hyena's blood ran cold while his smile vanished as he looked at his opponent with unbearable fear.

"Six? I thought guns carried eight bullets. Well. That's what becomes of only using swords and shuriken to fight." Necro trembles violently as he backs away, not bothering to run in any other direction; he knew his fate.

"N-N-N-No . . . !" He looked wide eyed as he broke into an icy-cold sweat as the white lion stepped forth.

"For what you have done, you shall bare agony." When Platinum was face to face with Necro, he took two fingers, and then jabbed at a kii point on the hyena's fore and upper arms, 4 in total. He then jabbed in the kii points on his shins and his quadriceps, the number now at 8. The 9th point was jabbed at Necro's forehead, and the 10th point was jabbed at the middle of his torso. He drew his paw back, gathering a large amount of kii energy in his palm, "Suffer . . ." He then shot his paw forward at the left side of Necro's chest.

"Tenshi Lotus Art: Heart Wave Palm!"

"Got it!" Gary had just picked the lock with his scalpel from his Medical Pack; he has a special Medical Certificate which allows him to carry certain objects in his Medical Pack.

"Great! C'mon Mark, lets-" The fox just sat there, completely frozen in his trauma. "Mark? C'mon, Mark, we need to get out of here!" Jason shook his boyfriend a little. No response. "Mark! Wake up!" The snow leopard then knelt down his claws out.

"Sorry, man. This might sting a little," Gary then latched his claws onto the fox's arm, retracting immediately. Mark yelped as he snapped out of it and clung to his husky, tears streaming his face.

"I don't want to be here! Please make it all stop!!!" Without hesitation, Jason picked Mark up and carried him out of the warehouse. They settled out and laid the quivering fox with him holding tightly onto Jason.

"Ok, now I better take care of-" The boys jumped when they heard a blood curdling scream that lasted at least 3 minutes. They knew it was Necro, so they sighed in relief. After one minute, they then heard an eerie howl. It was strained, thick, and somewhat cold. It was determine to be from the same source as the scream. Gary stood up abruptly, staring at the dark doorway

"Platinum . . ." He then ran in.

"Gary, wait-" It was too late, as the feline had already dashed in with his pack.

The snow leopard went into the room and immediately found the white lion on the floor. He strained as pain pulsed strongly from every wound in his body, his white, baggy clothes half soaked with deep-red liquid. His chest was rapidly going up and down as his face winced.

"Oh my god . . . Platinum . . . Hold on." Gary then took off his pack and dug through it vigorously; he didn't know why, but he felt as if, Platinum can't die on him. Or rather, Gary didn't _want _him to die on him.

He had just torn the jacket with the scalpel when he saw a flick of fear on the white lion's face. "No . . ."

"Platinum, what do you mean? I have to tend to this-" However, he heard something. His head jerked around and gasped in horror as he saw the hyena standing.

His arms hung as he stood awkwardly on his jagged legs. The hyena's head lifted up.

"Oh my freaking god!" Gary exclaimed as Necro's eyes looked up at the leopard. What used to be yellow eyes with brown irises was now blood read eyes around the brown irises. Blood trailed from the razor fangs and puffy eyelids and nostrils. The crimson liquid was also dripping from the sealing attached to his nails. Necro giggled that sent cold electricity up his spine.

This is what happens when one receives the Heart Wave Palm twice in one lifetime. It is almost guaranteed that once will take way half of one's mind. However, when it is inflicted to that individual a second time, their mind is ravaged into violent insanity, their blood vessels flow in an unstable rhythm until 95% of the blood veins burst and leak out. One particular horrific trait is all of the blood vessels of the eyes break, flooding the whites with deep red. In this state, the one and only instinct is to feel more blood.

Gary took a step back as Necro picked up a broadsword and giggled in a high-pitched tone as walked towards Gary, the sword dragging as he came closer.

"B-Back off! Now!" He said as he pointed his scalpel at the hyena; he is supposed to use it for medical purposes only, but he wanted to stop this crazy bastard at all fucking costs!

Necro laughed out as he clumsily swung the blade around at Gary. He ducked and then stabbed the hyena and made a deep gash across the maniac's chest and swerved away. The hyena giggled more, as if the cut tickled instead of mutilate. "Stay back! I'm warning you!" All Necro could hear was a bunch of wordless babble, as he wanted to see more red.

"Ga-ary . . . No . . ." Platinum said in a low, hoarse voice. His paw and arm strained as he struggled to move, but to little avail.

"Stop! Leave us alone!!" Gary made several more slashes while not getting a drop of blood on him, narrowly missing the flails of the sword from Necro, getting more and more frantic as his heart rate went a mile a minute as he dodged the homicidal psychopath.

The lion grunted in his throat as his paw shakily reached for the black handle of a katana. His fingers did all they could to wrap around the handle when he saw the leopard pressed into a corner.

The scalpel then jabbed into Necro's neck. The hyena's twisted face laughed dryly as the sword in his paw drew back. Gary stared wide-eyed into the blood filled and tearing eyes; it was the most sadistic thing anyone would ever see.

Gary shrieked as the blade lunged forth, the metal streaming with blood.

His blue eyes were wide as he stood in shocked paralysis as his senses went numb. The silver feline stood in complete suspension until his natural senses kicked in. Out of everything, he had then glanced to the left to see the half the broadsword into the old, wooden wall right next to Gary's arm, only two strands of fur sliced.

A flow of blood dripped out of the already gore-filled mouth as the leopard's eyes ventured to see a fine, pointed and curved blade point protruding from the left side of Necro's chest. The hyena let out a long, strained breath as his legs failed and he fell solid on the floor, dead.

When the killer fell, the katana slipped out of him and was tugged back by the monotone, albino lion. Platinum held his arm and paw out to the scared leopard. He was barely able to stand as he trembled head to foot.

"Gar . . . ry . . ." The katana handle slipped from his paw, the weapon clanging onto the floor. The lion had then succumbed to the physical agony and he toppled backward. As he fell in the air, his eyes closed, looking to what he thinks might be the last of his one and only bond.

"Platinum!!!" Gary started to tear up as the white lion collapsed. He immediately went and knelt down to him. He shook at the lion as he tried to wake him. "Platinum! Platinum! No! Don't die on me, Platinum!" He didn't know why, but he felt as if that Platinum is . . . too important to let go.
