The silent predator hid on the tallest treetop of a beautiful Alaskan forest, he hid under the snow-covered branches making sure neither his wings nor tail accidentally got stuck on the tree. He had been waiting the whole night for prey to come by.

The forest was indeed beautiful and extensive; it was bordered by mountains to the north and north-east, where the predator lived. Among the creatures that inhabited the place were wolves, deer, rabbits, etc. but what this flying lizard was looking for was a big sized alpha wolf that would satisfy his hunger.

The Wyvern had been hiding under treetops the whole night, changing location every 15 minutes or so but hadn't found any wolf yet. It was spring therefore nights were really clear, there were no clouds in the sky for miles and it was cool, not cold. Occasional breezes passed by and the Wyvern liked the feeling of fresh air surrounding him.

He knew that the area he was at was inhabited by a wolf pack, he looked around and could spot three five adult wolves passing by, he wanted them to separate from the others since he'd have a hard time dealing with multiple canines attacking at once. They were around 8 feet under him and not so far away from the tree he was at now.

Like a vulture waiting for a dying creature to pass away, the Wyvern waited for them to separate even if it took a while, he didn't want to attack them all at once since he could get hurt and he didn't want to kill them all now, since their corpses would decay before he got hungry again.

Suddenly, two of the wolves walked closer to the Wyvern's tree and the others left, the dragon moved slowly downwards by using carefully his claws and folded its wings to not move any branch in the way. The couple of wolves started to play around, licking each other and running in circles, the Wyvern knew what was going to happened and decided to watch carefully. It was mating season.

A moderated smile appeared on the Wyvern's face as he watched the wolves, it had been ages since he mated with a female, but he had always found it cute to watch other animals do the natural thing. After a minute or two the male had finished and the pair was now tied together, the dragon found others' mating cute since Wyvern mating was very loud and rough, he had only mated once about a year ago and disliked it, female counterparts of his species are too loud during their heat and even become aggressive. To watch a pair of canines doing it in a couple of minutes without a lot of noise was pleasant for him.

Finally, the pair untied and the she-wolf lied on the ground while the male walked away a few steps. This was perfect since the Wyvern would never kill an expectant mother, but was free to devour the male of any species. The male wolf yawned and was about three meters away from the female. It was now time to act.

The Wyvern spread his wings slowly and moved forward to exit the tree's interiors; he looked carefully around the place so that he didn't miscalculate his flight. After locking on the male wolf, he made a small jump and flew towards him swiftly; he took the wolf down and dragged him about a quarter of mile away so that no one could hear. The Wyvern acted so fast the she-wolf didn't even realize something had happened.

After arriving on the new location, it was time for the action. The Wyvern stood up next to the fallen wolf and stared at him, He was about half the size of the dragon and would possibly make an excellent meal.

The Wyvern stepped on the wolf by its neck and looked at him, his fur looked delicious and he had enough meat for satisfying the flying lizard. The Wyvern started to lick the wolf's head and he indeed tasted good, the wolf's gray fur was beautiful although it was saddening that it'd end up digested like the rest of the wolf.

The Wyvern positioned the wolf perpendicular to him and was preparing for his meal; he usually ate deer and rabbits but saved wolves for special days whenever he wanted to taste the best food in miles. The Wyvern grabbed the wolf by its head and opened wide his fangs, the wolf was still conscious but weakened, and could feel the dragon's hot breath, he saw the waiting mouth with loads of saliva preparing to be fed. The Wyvern proceeded to introduce the canine into his mouth and already had most of the head inside his maw; he tasted the fur around it and continued to introduce the wolf down his gullet.

The wolf went deeper and deeper into the Wyvern's gullet, now he was inside up to his shoulders. The Wyvern had to open his maw even more to make sure the front legs didn't have trouble getting in, the dragon's saliva allowed to canine to slide in easier and now the wolf experienced the warm gullet of his predator.

When there was less than half of the wolf outside, the Wyvern lied on his back on the snowy ground to enjoy his last moments his food, he touched his throat to feel the wolf inside and it felt good, he moved his mouth somehow like between kissing and biting without using his teeth to enjoy his meal. The wolf was now entering the dragon's belly and could see the stomach acids that would put it to sleep, he slowly entered the reptile's stomach while the Wyvern outside enjoyed the last seconds with his food, now the only parts of the wolf outside were the tail, back legs and rear while the head was already popping in the belly.

The Wyvern pushed the wolf's rear and legs with his right upper claw and closed his maw to fully absorb the canine, he gave a strong, slow gulp and the wolf arrived at his destination, he fell on the reptile's stomach and had to be curled to fit in, he tried to escape by moving lots but couldn't do a thing, he knew there was only one way out and it'd be dead, digested.

The Wyvern was in a big delight, he closed his eyes and yawned in satisfaction; he grabbed his tummy that bulged slightly and palmed it, it was a weird but nice feeling, it would now take him a few days to fully absorb the wolf inside him. The wolf was almost unconscious now and could faint at time; he kept his eyes closed and tried to ignore the acids that were burning his fur and flesh slowly.

After a few minutes of struggling, the bulge in the dragon's tummy stopped moving, at this moment the Wyvern smiled and suddenly fell asleep. He had had a nice meal today.
