Nuclear war, asteroids, EMPs, and zombies all sound like the most outlandish, worst case scenarios for an apocalypse. But on October 22nd of 2020, Americans would find an even stranger, and more horrific scenario thrust upon them.

One hundred years later, eighteen year old Avery Gallaghan finds himself, his sister, and his friends awakened from a hibernation they never knew they entered. Transformed into what looks like dwarf-sized, feathered velociraptors with long donkey-like ears. Every single survivor they find has suffered a similar transformation.

But they have no time to ponder seemingly random change in species. Because all the infrastructure on the island has decayed into ruin over the long years of their absence, leaving them with nothing. Alone, naked, and afraid in a harsh tropical environment. Worse, the former humans quickly find they're no longer the apex species on this warped Earth.

This is the fully compiled novel of Avery's Awakening, topping off at over 52,000 words. All under one neat post so readers don't have to click between the individually uploaded chapters already up on my furaffinity gallery.

Avery's Awakening takes place in, and is inspired by the Dragonscape universe and drekir species. Which is the creation of ThePatchedHobo https://www.furaffinity.net/user/thepatchedhobo/. Take a look at his ongoing comic The Long Hike for an enjoyable read, and to see just the dragonscape looks like https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40539427/.
