#2 of World of Osmis

Now for the races that are more than common in this world

Main Races:-

Humans:-

The 'first' of the world of Osmis and the children of the king of gods. That's basically the reason why many humans think themselves higher and better than all the other races and most of them are of royal or noble blood. But there are some humans who see themselves as equal to everyone else, mostly adventurers, but a handful few actually rever and worship the Patrons of other races.

Patron Deity: Osmis the Founder

Elves:-

Beautiful and graceful, the elves are one of the races deeply connected with the world's magic, in fact, most believe that they are part fey mostly because of who their Patron is, they're not pacifists by any means, but most of them prefer to stay out of/away from conflict. Elves have a great affinity and connection to magic, so they are the most capable of using it effectively and learning it at a much quicker pace than other races.

Patron Deity: Oberon the Fey King

Dwarves:-

Short and stocky humanoids with pretty sturdy bodies, dwarves are master craftsmen, many legendary items and gear used by heroes of ancient times have always been credited to the skills of a dwarf. Sadly, that made most of them quite the arrogant bunch, just like their proudful Patron who stories say was a mortal hero that was turned to a deity to pass his knowledge to those who come after him and his.

Patron Deity: Kholaeck the Forge Father

Orcs:-

Tribal race of big, tusked humanoids that come in various, dark colors, although green is the most common. They usually live in tribes or clans outside of large settlements or in dense forest areas, however, they are more than capable of living normally amongst modern society as they are more intelligent than their more wild and barbaric predecessors.

Patron Deity: Gul'Tar the Tusked

Goblins:-

The much smaller kin of Orcs, born with great intelligence and can rival the dwarves with their technological and engineering capabilities, although most of them are more on the chaotic side. Most goblins prefer staying in the back while others did the work, but most of them are confident enough in their front-lining capabilities.

Patron Deity: None

Gnomes:-

Humanoids that are very slightly shorter than goblins, but are known for their trickster and cunning nature. Most believe they are more related to fey than mortals, mostly because of the whimsical nature of their magic and the fact that they worship the same Patron as the elves.

Patron Deity: Oberon the Fey King

Beastmen:-

Bipedal creatures with human-like bodies, features, and intelligence. They were the front liners in the battle for equality in ages past, be it on the battlefield or on the political council, they were the ones who fought for equality the hardest, as ferocious in their politics as they are on the battlefield.

Patron Deities: The Five Beasts and the Twelve Guardians.

Halflings:-

Humanoids that are around the same size as Gnomes, but have more beastlike features like tails, horns, fins, etc. Just like how Gnomes are more related to fey, Halflings are more related to Beastmen, although they mostly look human-ish, save for some telltale signs here and there.

Patron Deities: The Five Beasts and the Twelve Guardians.

Lizardmen:-

Another tribal race that prefers the wilderness to the hustle and bustle of modern society, they take pride in their indigenous roots and still revere the deities that their predecessors did. They can be quite hospitable towards guests on their land, but are also ferocious fighters when their home is threatened.

Patron Deities: Ancients(Dinosaurs) and Dragons

Finfolk:-

Oceanic humanoids that are akin to Beastmen, living in oceanic homes or under the water. Agile and amazing natural swimmers, they are also able to use telekinesis to communicate with each other or allies at long distances, especially underwater where speech, movement, and even magic is limited to most other races.

Patron Deity: Megalo the Deep's Predator

Garuda:-

Avians with human bodies and bird heads, limbs, and wings. A proud, warrior race that lives among the mountains or in their homeland floating above the clouds, far away from threats and bloody politics of the ground world. They are both agile and swift fighters and wielders of ancient magic, that's why they're regarded, and feared, as the strongest military race out there.

Patron Deity: Aquila the Sky Lord

Undead:-

Monsters and creatures that thrive during the night, but some regained their sentience enough to create small communities of their own, mostly led by higher undead like liches and/or vampires as lesser undead usually succumb to their monstrous urges easily.

Patron Deity: Sealas the Undying.

Demonborn:-

Humanoids born from the blood of mortals and demons. They have some demonic powers to wield and are much stronger than the average mortal but are also bound and weak to the rules and magics that demons are. That's why demonborn are given two names, birth names and hidden names, the latter being their real name.

Patron Deity: Asmodeus the Chaos.

Nephilim:-

Just like the Demonborn, Nephilim are beings born of the blood of celestials and mortals. They don't have the same level celestial powers, but their affinity to holy magic is rivaled by none, most are even born with the rare ability of Vision, glimpsing into the many fragments and paths of the many futures.

Patron Deity: Osmis the Founder

Lesser Races:-

There will always be some form of racial tension between all the races, but these races are usually treated even worse most of the time. Or at least not with much importance as the others.

Z'ritix:-

A race of humanoid, bipedal insects that vary in size and height. Even though they are protected by many nations and settlements, they are still hunted and poached for their fluids (Blood, sweat, spit, urine, and seed) which hold powerful healing and anti-venom capabilities. But most desire the side effect of such 'ambrosia' which is an increase in libido and pleasure reception in those who consume it.

Drakken:-

What could be described as 'Lesser Dragons'. Instead of scales, they have smooth, human-like skin and are capable of growing body hair, and short but thick horns on their heads. They are stronger than the normal lizardman and kobold, and have the ability to breath fire, but they don't really look like normal dragons, in fact, most think they were mutants or defects, a mistake of Mother Nature, and they're usually treated as such.

Kobolds:-

Miniature lizardmen about the size of goblins. They greatly revere dragons as they share the same blood, but the blood in the kobolds has been diluted greatly over the years so they don't share the same power as their great and mighty predecessors. They are mostly used as laborers, servants, and assistants, but they are more than capable of doing much more, most are pretty good merchants, too.

Hobgoblins:-

Slightly bigger than normal goblins, but don't share the same intelligence, unfortunately, they can, however, rival an orc in physical strength, so they are mostly used as laborers, bodyguards, and heavy lifters.

Demi-Humans:-

Hybrids of humans and other races that look mostly human, but have unhuman features and traits like animalistic ears, tails, claws, fangs, scales, wings, you name it, but still can be taken for humans if they hid them well. In many places, they are treated on the same level of respect as Beastmen, Orcs, etc, but in other places they are treated no better than animals and beasts.

Feliminis:-

Small, feline-like creatures that are about the size of goblins and kobolds. They can be seen and found all over the world of Osmis, doing pretty much everything, crafting, forging, running shops, restaurants, service parlors, you name it, they can and will do it. They are the most helpful aid in, literally, any kind of profession.

WereBeasts:-

Beastmen that have been consumed by their wilder side. It treated more as an incurable affliction than a rare, genetic trait, as most WereBeasts act out in ways that even the normal members of their race are wary of. Most of them are still pretty sentient and are able to live in civil society, however, the influence of their bestial instincts is much stronger than in normal Beastmen. (Is also treated as an adventuring class.)

Beastkin:-

Also called 'Half-Beasts' are beastmen with slightly softer, humanoid features and traits. Unlike Demi-Humans who are basically humans with animal ears and tails, Beastkin are, basically, smaller and softer versions of Beastmen but are still clearly Beastmen.

Eldbeasts:-

Short for 'Elder Beasts' they are Beastmen born with an abnormal affinity and connection to all kinds of magic. They are easily differentiated from normal Beastmen by the strange coloration and markings of their furs. Werebeasts and Beastkin can also be born as Eldbeasts. (Is also treated as an adventuring class)

Sentient Slimes:-

Slimes that have gained sentience and intelligence, somehow and are able to live in modern society, although they don't have much in the intelligence department. Their capability to morph and change their bodies at will makes them fit in, literally, anywhere they desire.
