Over the next few days, Steele would meet up with the trio. Sometimes they would share a meal and when they had the time, the sledding dogs would join him in the boiler room to have some more fun. From being with them, Steele became more and more used to being with other males. And he had to admit that he was rather lonely on his own in the boiler room. An added bonus was him being able to bond with Nikki, Kaltag, and Star in a way that he never did before and it was certainly good to take care of his primal needs. The three of them weren't the only ones who wanted to have some fun with Steele.

At this point, Steele was considering settling here in Nome permanently. He reconnected with his old friends, and most dogs saw him in a different light now. While things for the most part were good here, there were two glaring things holding him back...

Balto and Jenna. By far they were treated the worst by him in the past. Any chance he could, Steele would bully Balto and made sure he was seen as an outcast by the other dogs. And towards Jenna he was completely out of line, invading her personal space and making it clear that he only saw her as a piece of meat.

Steele couldn't imagine that either of them would want to see him; he actively avoided them, feeling too ashamed to even approach them. Even though he changed the minds of the other dogs in Nome, he supposed that he could go on with Balto and Jenna still hating him. Their reasons for it were more justified than anyone else's.

"Hey have you heard?" Steele overheard a human saying.

"What?" The other man asked.

"I heard we have a delivery to that far away outpost, not only are the mushers unsure if Balto is ready to lead a delivery there, but one of the main sled dogs is down with a fever."

"Oh no...is it a critical delivery?"

"Not sure...but from what I heard it would be best if it was delivered sooner rather than later."

"Perhaps they could put Steele on the team? He has been to the outpost before."

"Yeah...that might be a good idea...but if I understand right he and Balto haven't been getting along."

Hearing the conversation draw out, Steele winced at the mention of him and Balto. The malamute was already considering taking up on the spot that the sick dog left open. He fit the role they needed rather nicely thanks to his experience and retained skills, but that would also mean that he and Balto would have to finally interact, putting an abrupt end to his decision to keep a respectful distance.

Making his choice, Steele came into view of the conversating men and he barked to get their attention. The humans did notice him and were already calling him over. "Heh...speak of the devil and he shall appear."

He went along and they brought Steele to the sledding team's owner and asked him about the situation. It actually was more important than expected. A heavy snowstorm had struck the outpost and they needed to usher supplies to the people there. As they discussed the situation Steele stood by with an uncomfortable look. He would have to face Balto faster than expected.

"Steele would be the perfect replacement," the owner responded. "He's led the team there a few times before and he's likely to remember his mushing skills. But I think we should run a test just to be sure..."

The other dogs were called and that included Balto. The others had already forgiven Steele but, as expected, the wolfdog was wary. But he still approached and joined the others. Balto knew better than to let the past get in the way of helping people in need. But he didn't speak to Steele or even look in his direction, noticeably standing at a distance.

The owner noticed this as well and wondered if they would work together. Given the importance of the mission he needed to make sure the trip would go without a hitch. The dogs got into position and Balto was still leading but Steele was right behind him. They performed a test and upon being given commands they acted and tugged the sled in the proper directions. This continued for some time before they stopped, completing the necessary drills. They all worked together quite well but Balto noticeably still refused to acknowledge Steele.

When they were all unlatched Steele dared to finally approach the wolfdog. "Balto, I know what I did in the past and you have every right to hate me. But this is an important task and I've been to the outpost before. I can help lead us there but we'll have to communicate," the malamute urged.

Balto couldn't help but feel Steele was being insincere about wanting to work together, that it was a front, a farce. The wolf knew he had misgivings towards the malamute and that his own judgement was likely skewed as a result, but that conclusion didn't help his heart come to terms with the situation any easier. As much as he wanted to dismiss Steele from the mission altogether, he had to act like the bigger dog or come off as the bad guy. Steele's politeness meant he had to hold back his true feelings for the time being.

"I will ask for advice when I need it, but otherwise I don't want you to address me unless it is important. You are to follow my instructions no matter what."

The malamute didn't give any indication he agreed. "You contradicted yourself: you want my advice if it is important, but you want me to follow instructions without question."

Balto growled a bit. "Fine...if there is something critically wrong with my instructions you can object."

This time Steele gave an agreeing nod.

The two found a compromise but the other sledding dogs weren't sure that it would last. Practice drills and venturing out of town were two different matters, especially when there was another heavy snowfall predicted sometime soon.

In times like this they all needed to be on the same page and communicate freely. But the others had a feeling it wouldn't be good for them to step into this matter. Steele was allowed to stay with the other sledding dogs. In the owners yard was a cozy shed that was outfitted to properly and comfortably house the canines. There were beds, blankets and even a heater that would keep them warm despite the cold outside.

With it starting to become late, the others invited Steele to join them but the malamute wondered if it would be best for him to return to his own private place in town. He didn't want to cause any unneeded trouble, especially since the mission would be executed soon. Balto didn't oppose Steele sharing the shed with them but he didn't share their enthusiasm either, simply going inside and into his bed. He faced the nearest wall, listening to the others talking casually with the malamute.

Steele was split on what he wanted; he had just come back because he felt compelled to right the wrongs he had done, not because he had intended to stay. There were pros and cons to either staying in Nome or leaving back to the nearby town when he had completed his quest.

Here in Nome he had an apprentice of sorts in the form of Jack, people knew and respected him, but his heart still felt guilt when seeing the younger humans and Balto and Jenna deserved better than to anxiously wait for him to finally reveal his true self again, they would likely never be comfortable with him around.

In the town nearby there was the older gentleman who he had fostered a really strong bond with, there was a freedom in knowing that nobody really knew of his former reputation and yet he had friends regardless. Leaving however likely meant he would be seen as untrustworthy by the people in Nome and the dogs he knew in Nome likely wouldn't understand.

For the sake of not making waves, Steele decided to spend the night in the boiler room instead. He decided to make his choice once the quest was completed. If he and Balto could somehow reconcile that would increase his chances of staying but if not he planned to just apologize and go on his way.

Before going to sleep the other sledding dogs were talking about Steele. About how much he had changed and all the things he had done around town since his arrival. Balto pretended to be asleep but he heard every word that they said. It was making him think. Was he being too harsh towards Steele? There was no denying that he was a much better dog than before. But was that all an act? Was Steele just pretending to lure them all into a false sense of security?

A part of him felt guilty. Why was he holding a grudge like this? The other sledding dogs had bullied him as well but he forgave all of them? Maybe it was because Steele was worse than all of them. Balto couldn't help but worry that the malamute was just lying in wait for the chance to strike...

Despite his stern words earlier, Balto decided to put just a bit of faith into Steele. Their quest would be a trial of sorts to really prove if the malamute had changed. After all, what better time to show his true colors than on another important supply run? It was eerily similar to the last time. Shivering a bit, Balto finally decided to get some sleep, hoping that he was doing the right thing...

-

The day came and the dogs were made ready early that morning. They were first gathered and given hearty meals that would give them the energy to make the trip. Steele arrived just a bit later and was fed as well. Everyone was glad to see him and even Balto gave him a "hello."

The others noticed that Balto wasn't as hostile towards Steele but it wasn't openly friendly either. Together they all got their fill and the owner came to gather the bowls. There was still a bit of time before they were set to go and the canines were mingling with one another.

Balto saw that Steele was interacting with Kaltag, Nikki, and Star. Seeing the four of them interact so closely reminded him of when they all used to bully and gang up on him. A feeling of unease crept up his back but he pushed it down and reminded himself to let Steele's own actions speak for themselves.

After taking a deep breath he dared to approach the malamute on his own accord.

"Hey Steele..." The wolfdog was certain and confident until realizing he didn't really have any ideas of what he wanted to talk to the malamute about.

"Balto..." Steele acknowledged his presence, but likewise seemed to be at a loss at what to say.

The first few moments were tense, but after that it just became really awkward

Luckily the awkward atmosphere was disrupted by the owner returning and calling them to the sled that was waiting for him. So instead of saying anything, the two of them shared a nod and got into position. When they were all connected and ready to go, a command was given and they were led to a warehouse. The outpost's needed supplies were loaded onto the sled and while standing by, the sledding dogs saw that heavy flakes of snow were starting to fall.

This made some of them nervous but Balto and Steele became all the more determined to see this through. They wouldn't let the heavy snowfall keep them from delivering supplies to those that really needed them.

When everything was loaded and strapped down, the owner returned to his position and called for the dogs to mush. Now it was finally time for them to leave town and as they passed by there were various dogs and people that cheered them on. As they raced by, Steele could hear many wishing him and the others good luck.

The group of dogs were going well at the start. Balto was leading the others further and further away from town. He elected to follow the main trail and by the end of the day they would be about halfway there. Since the outpost was located away from the main trail they would then depend on Steele to make sure they were heading in the right direction.

"Take a left here," Steele suggested. They were still running along the main path at this point and the malamute's input came as a surprise. Balto's first instinct was to ask if Steele was sure. There was still a lot of the main trail left but he decided to trust the malamute and led the rest of them to the left as suggested.

Though it had been some time since he had been on the sledding team, Steele had gone to the outpost enough times to know the quickest way to get there. They could save a lot of time by running along the mountain side.

Balto shed his initial reluctance to rely on Steele as he got further and further away from any established roads. The terrain was confusing and more than once he had thought they had gotten turned around, but Steele had kept an eye on their direction and assured them that they weren't lost.

"Dammit..." They reached a large snowpile between the slopes of two peaks "I wanted to take us through here, but it looks like snow has drifted down the sides and blocked the path, we need to take a detour. There is a cave nearby where we can rest up for the last stretch of the journey."

They reached the cave and finally began to rest after running all day. While the others were lying down Balto approached the malamute. He made no attempts to hide his anger.

"I knew I shouldn't have listened to you!" Balto snapped.

"What do you mean?" Steele asked.

"If we just stayed on the normal path we would have made a lot more progress," the wolfdog responded. "But I chose to listen to you and look at what happened."

"I didn't know that snow would fall from the peaks," Steele countered.

Hearing that Balto scoffed. "I find that hard to believe. I should have known that you would sabotage this run too!"

"Now, hold on a minute," Nikki said. He stepped in between them and the others stood nearby with worried looks on their faces. "I'm sure Steele was just trying to help."

The wolfdog gave him a look that made the chow chow shrink a bit. But Steele stood his ground against Balto. He didn't want to fight but he wasn't going to tolerate being slandered and painted as the bad guy when he was legitimately trying to help.

"I get it, you are frustrated, but looking for someone to blame isn't the answer...after all...that's how I ended up almost stopping that diphtheria medicine from reaching the children." Steele let out his own frustrations.

He and Balto almost butted heads "Why did you even come back Steele!? Just to ruin everything again?" The wolfdog accused.

"No..." Steele got unusually quiet "I came back because I wanted to make up for what I did, even if none of the humans realized what I had done."

"Well you've done a real fine job of that!" Balto sneered.

"You are wasting energy..." Steele disengaged "I already told you we will need to take a detour since my original plan fell through, we are still far ahead in time compared to the route you had intended, which I might add has an even higher chance of being blocked than the pass I wanted us to go through."

"We should be out there right now. The snow's just going to pile up even higher!" Balto snarled, baring his fangs.

"Why do you want to fight me, Balto? I just admitted that I was wrong, what more do you want from me?" Steele asked with a bit of desperation in his voice.

"I... I..." Balto began to stammer.

"You want me to fight you? To hurt you? To prove that I'm still that monster I used to be?" Steele questioned and Balto grew quieter. "I'm doing the best I can, not only to get these supplies to those who need it but I want to make things up to you. Of all the dogs I hurt here in Nome I hurt you the most because I saw you as a threat."

Steele sighed and lowered his head. "I always knew that you would be a good musher. But I was scared that you would take my place. So I took it out on you, hoping that bullying you would keep you from even trying to become a sled dog."

Balto hadn't known the malamute's motive, but hearing him outright admit he had felt threatened by him made him feel odd, the Steele he knew wouldn't have admitted that even under the threat of death.

"When I came back I was glad to see everything was going well without me, that you were doing well, it meant I hadn't completely broken you despite my best efforts."

"I've wanted to apologize to you but I just didn't know how. After what I did to you and Jenna, there was no way that I could face the both of you..." Steele admitted. "In fact, I was okay with you just hating me. After this I would just go back to where I came from. Nome doesn't need me anymore, not with you in my place."

Balto processed Steele's words and he sighed deeply, now feeling guilty for the way that he treated the other canine.

He looked around and noticed that the other dogs were all looking at him and not Steele. They were looking at him with the same kind of fear they used to have towards the malamute. Steele was standing down while Balto was still looming over him, being stuck in an aggressive stance.

He had just been so...angry at Steele and then he had just up and left before he could confront him. He had tried and tried to find an outlet for it, but nothing had ever really lessened it and now he was lashing out at the first chance he got, like he had waited for the smallest of infractions to finally get back at him, but...Steele hadn't wanted to reciprocate, he was trying to move on from what had happened rather than wallow in it like himself...

Balto had always tried to be the bigger person when Steele had been the lead, when had that changed? When...when had he changed?

He finally stepped down and hung his own head in shame. Slowly the wolfdog walked away and sat in a corner. Steele sighed and followed after him while the rest of the dogs tried to get some rest.

"Balto I..."

"Steele," the wolf interrupted. "I'm sorry. All this time I've just been seeing you as the bad dog because...I didn't want to believe it. I wished that you hadn't changed because my feelings would be justified. I wanted to take my anger out on you and have you deserve it."

Steele understood and sat down beside Balto. "And my apology is long overdue. I was nothing but horrible towards you. So I don't blame you at all for still hating me. I would."

"I did hate you at one point, but not anymore," Balto admitted.

The idea of getting payback for all that he had gone through had just stuck with him. Nikki, Kaltag, and Star had apologized to him and become friends of his. So that left Steele as the only viable target left, but the malamute he wanted to get even with no longer existed either.

"I just...have this core of anger inside me...how do I let go of it?" The wolfdog asked.

Steele couldn't help but smile a little, he had asked that same question himself some time back, so it was only reasonable he passed on the old man's advice that had helped him to Balto.

"Someone told me: when you reflect and see sides of yourself that you don't like that what you must do is a bit unintuitive, rather than reject those sides of yourself you must accept them and say "I may be like this now, but I want to change." And through that acknowledgement and wish to change you can move on."

Balto perked up upon hearing that. He hadn't thought of it like that.

He did some thinking and considered that maybe his anger wasn't fully directed at Steele. After all, he took up the leading sled dog position and got all the praise that Steele now got. And when really thinking about it, Balto realized that he did fear becoming like Steele, at least how the malamute used to be.

He challenged and doubted Steele because he began to see how similar they were. And if the malamute could become so selfish and wicked perhaps there was a chance the growing fame could one day corrupt him. Balto hoped that Steele hadn't changed because that would prove that they weren't alike.

But here the former sled dog was, apologizing with a sincere tone and offering good advice, something he wouldn't have done for someone else in the past...

With the initial hostility gone, the two dogs got to talking with each other and shared their life-stories. The amount of similarities would have shaken Balto previously, but now he didn't mind it so much. Steele finally got to know how Balto had grown so resilient and Balto got to know how the malamute had ended up being the former lead.

The malamute's ambition and survival instinct had been linked together due to the harsh training he got where only the top dogs got any decent treatment.

Steele was essentially born to be the next best sledding dog. If he didn't perform as expected, he would be denied things like a bed to sleep on or even food to eat. Looking back, Steele realized how that upbringing truly affected him. This taught him to only care about performance and wouldn't settle for anything less than perfection.

"It's safe to say that I was jealous and angry that you had the same natural skills as me. You never having to endure the hardships I did that made me resent you even more. It's only after I left that I realized how foolish that was," Steele admitted. "If anything, you should count yourself lucky. They really know to beat the compassion out of you."

Balto huffed and looked away "I guess now is as good a time as ever to admit I was jealous of you too. I only saw you as the beloved champion that was so further ahead than everyone else, I didn't realize you might have had your own problems to deal with."

Balto had forgotten that Steele was a normal dog like himself. The malamute's talents and status made him seem unreal in a sense. Not an ordinary animal, but as some obstacle that was meant to be overcome. And when Steele was dethroned, Balto put no further thought towards him, sticking to that view of Steele being a one dimensional force.

But with the both of them having a heart-to-heart, Balto realized that there was much more to Steele. More than he could have ever known on his own. The both of them had many regrets towards each other and in getting it all off their chests they felt much better.

"So, how will we get the outpost from here?" Balto asked, a newfound respect for the malamute could be heard.

"There's a flatter section just beyond the mountainside. Even if the snow piles up we can still get through it without much trouble," Steele explained.

From his many trips to the outpost, he learned that there were many ways to get there. Between the peaks was the fastest but there were other means of getting to their destination.

Balto once again put faith in Steele and he was ready to get some rest. Steele wanted to do the same and began to walk away. But the wolfdog cleared his throat and invited him to stay. With the snow still falling and the wind blowing just outside the cavern, it was a bit chilly and the cold cavern floor certainly didn't help.

It was a bit odd to lay to the wolfdog he had despised for so long, but eventually their shared body warmth made Steele press himself closer to Balto. During this whole interaction the malamute had his eyes closed, which Balto was glad for as he got more and more flustered at how freely Steele was pressing himself up close to him.

-

After their rest the dogs were ready to go again. The snowing had stopped but the dark clouds in the sky suggested it could start up again at any minute. They were all in the same position as last time. When their owner reached Balto and Steele the wolfdog strolled ahead and put himself in the position behind the leader. Both the owner and Steele were surprised.

"Balto, what are you doing?" the malamute asked.

"I trust you, Steele. And you know the way better than I do. If we're gonna get these supplies to the outpost it'll be best if you lead." Balto said with meaning.

Steele didn't know what to say, he was touched that Balto put that much faith into him. But he was also a bit nervous about taking the lead position. It was rather silly but he feared that taking on the role would put him back in his previous mindset.

Balto and the other dogs encouraged him:

"You can do it, Steele."

"We'll be with you the entire way."

"Yeah, we got your back, Steele."

The malamute steeled himself and closed his eyes 'alright...one last delivery, make it right again' Steele told himself.

Opening his eyes he looked resolutely at the other dogs. "Alright, I understand, I will get us through this!"

The owner seemed to understand as the dogs looked a lot more determined than when they had started the journey and let Steele lead.

They quickly made headway and crossed the spot Steele intended, they seemingly had a straight shot to the outpost when Steele paused. "We need to go around this area, just below the snow is tipped rock that will rend the sled asunder when it sinks due to the weight of our delivery." It was why he tended to avoid using this path if he could, it was always nerve-wracking as the threat was almost invisible and had lost teams their sleds on more than one occasion.

Balto sweated nervously as he finally noticed the tiny tips of the rocks sticking out the snow, he would have run over them without further thought himself due to his inexperience and ruined the vital delivery.

Thankfully due to Steele's expertise they managed to move around the hidden danger and arrive at their destination.

Those living in the outpost were glad to see the delivery of supplies. The latest heavy snow had led them to worry. But everything they needed was brought and they were all grateful to the Nome sledding dogs.

As the things were being unloaded the dogs were led to a shack where they could rest. It was heated thanks to a boiler just like the one back home and they were all glad to rest on smooth wood rather than the rough and cold flooring of that cavern.

"Thanks, Steele. You got us through to the end, and in one piece too," the wolfdog joked. The others laughed and began to cheer for Steele.

There was a feeling that came from this. It wasn't that feeding of his ego, but a sense of pride that swelled within him. And when seeing Balto joining cheers, his own tail was wagging hard.

"I think this calls for a celebration," Nikki said. "It takes a while to unpack things and we usually stick around for the rest of the day."

"Yeah, that gives us plenty of time to...reward each other," Kaltag alluded.

Given their recent bouts Steele knew exactly what they were referring to. The usual reward for doing an excellent job would be to receive prime meat or an extra thick bone upon returning to town. But the other canines clearly were referring to something that could be done right away.

It became more apparent when Steele saw canines breaking off into pairs and he felt heat come to his face upon noticing their arousal.

There was no doubting what these "rewards" were anymore. Balto chuckled as he approached the flustered malamute. Upon taking over as lead dog, he put a higher focus on comradery and supporting each other. Given how often they went out together and their sometimes prolonged periods away from town, it served as a form of bonding but also taking care of each other's needs.

"Does Jenna know about this?" Steele asked in a teasing tone of voice.

"She does," Balto nodded, his eyes scanning the malamute's body. He recalled the feeling that came when their bodies were close in that cavern.

It was Steele's turn to get flustered as Balto very suggestively rubbed up against him.

"I must say...this is an...inspired way of bonding..." Thanks to his prior fun with Nikki, Kaltag, and Star, the malamute was no longer ignorant of male dogs being able to aid one another, but it was something he was still exploring.

"You sure you want me as your partner Balto?"

"Very sure," Balto said with a certain tone in his voice. "You've proven yourself as a changed dog and I want to make things up to you." The wolfdog nuzzled against the malamute and chuckled softly. "And I have to admit: I've always found you attractive."

Steele shivered as this touching was more sensual than before. Everyone else was already paired up and that just left the two of them...

Balto wanted to get the malamute really in the mood before they started, but was blindsided by Steele gently headbutting his side causing him to fall over.

The wolfdog blushed immensely as the malamute loomed over him. "Careful Balto...you might get more than you bargained for...when I get in the mood I get a bit...husky..." Balto shivered at Steele's lustful and domineering tone.

"That's right...stay right there on your back, pup..." As Steele leaned his head down Balto could barely contain his excitement, he had never felt like this before, being so eager.

Balto did as he was told, feeling his body trembling with excitement as well. He watched as the malamute was easing himself lower and lower, finally reaching between his hindlegs. Steele was a bit nervous but when seeing Balto's eagerness he was reassured and began to act.

Balto expected him to start slow but he was surprised by the nuzzling given to his package. The smooth fur of Steele's muzzle rubbed against his maleness, sending hard tingles through the rest of his body.

Lead more by instinct than the experience he had so far, Steele forged ahead by teasing the wolfdog's package with his muzzle at first and then by slow licking that gradually got more eager and confident. The entire time, the malamute kept a close eye on Balto's sheath and how his cock slowly pushed out of it and engorged from his actions.

Watching it made Steele all the more eager to proceed, Balto's erection was quite enticing and he couldn't help but sneak a few licks onto it every once in a while.

Balto couldn't help but moan as his sheath was lavished with frequent soft licks. The pleasure got the rest of his length out of the furry pouch and Steele was very impressed with Balto's size. It was safe to assume that his wolf genes were rather generous, giving him a sizeable length and plump knot that looked very appealing to the malamute.

"I'm almost jealous," he admitted with a playful tone of voice.

Balto wondered what the malamute meant by that and then he looked down the length of his own body and through Steele's legs as he lifted his head and blushed as he saw what the former lead was packing between his legs.

"T-that can't be real..." Balto whispered, both a bit excited and afraid, compared to other dogs he was quite well endowed himself, but Steele was a size or two bigger than him.

"I assure you it's very real," Steele responded, swaying his hips to make his length swing as well.

Balto couldn't take his eyes off of it and felt his heart racing,

Seeing how Balto was so entranced with his length, Steele couldn't help himself and moved on top of the wolfdog and grinded his erection against Balto's. "Ahh!" Balto moaned, he felt his and Steele's lengths press and grind against each other and it was sending sparks through his lower body.

The wolfdog couldn't help but blush when hearing Steele chuckle. The malamute was slowly grinding their lengths together. He let out a small groan of his own, enjoying the growing pleasure of their warm shafts touching and rubbing together.

"I'll tell you a little secret, Balto," Steele said. "I've recently had more than a few dreams about something like this. But I never thought that day would come."

Balto didn't respond right away. He smiled and reached his paws up to wrap them around Steele's body, pulling the both of them in close. This came as a surprise to the other dog. Suddenly their muzzles were just short of touching and there was a smirk on the wolfdog's face. "Well, let's make those dreams come true."

Steele scoffed at the cheesy line but pressed himself even closer to the other male. "Oh, just kiss me you hopeless romantic," he said before pushing into a kiss with the wolfdog, Balto was unprepared for the sudden move, but he quickly returned the other canine's affections with matched intensity.

The both of them were soon sharing a passionate kiss. Steele was more or less leading it and Balto followed suit, kissing the malamute in return. They moaned into each other's muzzles and their tongues made continued contact. As the kiss drew out, the arousal between the both of them grew even stronger.

When the kiss was broken, the both of them were panting hard. Steele leading the kiss put Balto into a needy sort of mood. He wanted the malamute to keep leading and Steele certainly wasn't opposed to being the dominant one to start out.

"I want you, Steele," Balto admitted while shifting his lower half. Their lengths pressed firmly together once more and the contact made the both of them shudder.

"Then I won't keep you waiting," Steele promised, easing his body back. Balto was reluctant to let go of the malamute but the promise of pleasure got him to comply with bated breath.

Steele eased all the way down, even further below the wolfdog's erection and sheath. His sights were instead on the soft hole just underneath the wagging tail.

Balto shivered at the initial laps to his tailhole then gasping as he felt Steele's tongue probe his entrance and then push inside. He had others do this before, but it felt different this time, more intense.

As the malamute pushed more and more inside him the wolfdog groaned lightly and his length throbbed. It wasn't only Balto who enjoyed it, Steele loved all the sounds that Balto was making and he noted the spots that made the wolfdog jump a bit or moan as he prepared Balto for the next part.

"Oh, Steele..." Balto moaned, melting from the strong waves of pleasure that came from the steady licking. The tongue was long and warm but was also gentle when licking him. Steele was doing more than just preparing him, he was also giving the wolfdog plenty of pleasure that kept him moaning out for more.

Steele saw no need to rush things, he explored the other canine's tailhole and lavished it with soft touches and swipes that worked to give pleasure but to also prepare the hole at the same time. As the moans grew louder, his motions were done with more passion and a bit more pressure was put down with each lick, putting more focus on those extra sensitive areas.

After he felt Balto was getting used to the rimming Steele decided to mix things up and pulled out, muzzling the wolfdog's balls before dragging his tongue up the length of his sheath and then licking Balto's throbbing cock before pulling back and giving his testicles a lick and then diving his tongue back inside Balto's hole.

Balto was left trembling from the sudden onslaught of licking. Steele had given all of his sensitive area some licks before returning to his rimming. It brought an extra jolt of pleasure that got his cock to start leaking a bit of precum. Steele noticed this and smirked while still licking.

Steele would suddenly remove his tongue and give more licks to the wolfdog's sheath, length, and balls. Balto could never predict when it would happen and he would be left completely unprepared each time.

It was clear to see that this did much for Balto. Aside from his louder moans, the wolfdog's length would throb harder and more precum was leaking out onto his own pelt. While Steele enjoyed getting a reaction out of Balto, he didn't want the fun to be cut short by Balto reaching his climax too soon.

His licking slowed and he eased his tongue out for the final time, leaving the other canine's hole wet, stretched, and winking.

Steele teased Balto's entrance with the tip of his cock, enjoying how needily Balto gasped each time he applied a bit of pressure, but not enough to penetrate.

Balto was excited beyond words, he knew Steele could slip inside him at any given time and that made his instincts go into overdrive.

Not being able to take it anymore the wolfdog was about to raise his voice and beg for it when Steele suddenly pushed against him for real and slipped a quarter of his length into him.

Balto cried out and his voice got the attention of other dogs that were enjoying themselves. Some looked on with jealousy and others simply admired the sight of the two attractive dogs. Steele was slowly pushing himself inside, making his entry agonizing on purpose. He chuckled as the wolfdog continued to whimper and squirm.

"You're so big..." Balto commented. There was still so much to take and he could already feel his tailhole being spread even further by Steele's endowment. He couldn't believe it but the feeling spoke for itself.

"Guess you are finally getting a taste of what those whom you dicked down felt huh?" Steele teased and more than a couple of the dogs around blushed hearing that. Balto had been the biggest for his size until now. Reigning in his instincts, the malamute slowly sank his length deeper and deeper into the wolfdog.

"You're clearly not just gifted in the size department...this is the best tailhole I have ever had..." Balto knew Steele was teasing him because he couldn't answer back. He was moaning and groaning from the intense feeling of the malamute's dick pushing into him.

In time, half of it was inside and that was the most Balto had ever been spread. The feeling was intense but so good. His tail was wagging and he noticed the jealous looks on the other canine's face. Balto had fun with many of them but now they were hoping to have a chance with Steele. But they would have to wait their turn...

"Good boy..." Steele encouraged, sinking more of himself inside with a bit more speed. He couldn't deny that he was getting riled up and wanted to get to the good stuff. But enough control was maintained to further tease the wolfdog.

Balto gave a short startled "yip!" when he felt Steele's knot touch the rim of his tailhole. Steele smirked and waited a little bit as the wolfdog adjusted and then pulled out only to push back inside before his cock fully left Balto's tailhole, beginning a slow, but steadily increasing rhythm.

The sight of the passionate sex between the new and former lead aroused and invigorated all the other dogs who quickly became lost in their own partners. Nikki, Kaltag, and Star were with each other but were keeping their eyes on Balto and Steele. Those three had been waiting for the two to finally get together and were pleasuring each other to the sight before them.

"Steele...this is amazing..." Balto was finally able to speak and he began to praise the malamute. Not only for his size, but Steele thrust in a smooth manner, feeding all of his inches down to the knot before easing them all out again.

The pace was already being picked up. It couldn't be called "fast" but it was enough to make Steele's body push into Balto's in a repeated fashion. This made the wolfdog rock back and forth in time with the humps. But the best thing was Steele's cock touching all of those extra sensitive spots repeatedly.

Just as Balto enjoyed the sensations of being rutted and filled, Steele was very much enjoying the tightness of the wolfdog's hole. In response to his prostate and other spots being touched, Balto's hole clenched down and gave the malamute something firmer to hump against. More often than not, Balto was the one on top, leaving him not as experienced when it came to being penetrated but his tailhole adjusted to Steele's size in time. Now longer feeling the strain of Steele's length and girth he began to work in tandem with Steele's actions. He rocked himself in time with the other canine's humps, keeping the pleasure strong between the both of them.

Steele was impressed and certainly didn't complain about the extra sensations that got deep moans out of him. The two of them kept at this steady rhythm, taking time to simply feel each other. Being connected like this made them both feel like they had moved on from their former animosity.

"Dammit...how are you so tight?" Steele groaned as he pumped his length into the welcoming wolfdog's tailhole.

Balto would have responded if he hadn't been drowning in pleasure from the malamute stimulating all the sensitive spots inside him. The wolfdog wasn't sure how to answer that question. He was just acting on instinct, being nearly overwhelmed by the sheer pleasure that Steele gave him.

The malamute felt the pleasure rising as he attempted to outdo Balto. When humping with even more force, the tailhole responded with more clenches that nearly pushed him over the edge.

Steele slowed his pace and chuckled. "You're just full of surprises. That's what I always admired about you."

The wolfdog adapted easily to the new pace, but Steele was pushing him towards his inevitable climax no matter how he tried to resist. "Steele..." Balto droned out. The malamute didn't need to hear more, he knew what Balto was trying to say. The malamute started to increase the force of his thrusts, readying to push his knot inside Balto.

The knot wasn't forced in, rather it was gradually pushed further in with each thrust. Balto was able to feel it gradually stretching his hole even further and it was much easier to take that way. He squirmed and voiced his anticipation, waiting for it to finally be shoved in.

With a few more thrusts, Steele grunted deeply as he finally got his knot fully inside. It was also hugged by Balto's tightness. Having his entire doghood inside, the malamute continued to firmly hump and they were both being brought all the closer to their climaxes.

"Steeeele...fuck..." Balto panted, it felt so intense he felt numb.

"Just...a little more..." The malamute humped the wolfdog as best he could, then began pulling back causing Balto to gasp and whine.

Balto felt his nerves being on fire as Steele pulled his knot free of his tailhole. "Now howl for me!" Steele demanded as he unexpectedly pushed his knot inside again. Balto howled in pleasure, the feeling was far more intense than the first time.

Steele did this a few more times and made a final strong hump that pushed his knot in even deeper than before. He and the wolfdog reached their orgasms at about the same time. Another howl came from Balto as he unloaded ropes of his release onto his own belly. He squirmed and his hole clenched around the length and knot with a stronger intensity than before.

Steele was pushed over his edge and was pulled into a powerful climax. Having his knot squeezed along with the rest of his length was more than enough to get his length throbbing and shooting his seed deep inside of the moaning wolfdog. He panted hard while riding out the bliss of emptying his balls into the other canine, basking in the sheer passion the two of them shared for each other. After coming down from their strong orgasms, the two of them laid down and cuddled together in the aftermath of their passion.

"Damn...that was one premium fucking...I wonder if I can convince Steele to do that to me." Star said awestruck. He had just finished up along with Kaltag and Nikki. The chinook had been between them, still shivering from being used by the husky and chow chow from either side.

"Damn is right...I didn't know our former lead had that in him...He's certain to give me a harder pounding the next time..."

"If you want a harder pounding, I can give that to you right now." Nikki said, teasing his friend. "Let's swap places, Star." The husky agreed and they changed places, leading to Star inserting himself into Kaltag's mouth while Nikki was quick to shove himself inside of the still snug tailhole.

"Think you got one more in you?" Balto asked. He could feel the knot softening within him. Steele brought him nothing but satisfaction, but there was a lingering curiosity of what the malamute felt like.

"I think I can manage," Steele chuckled in response, understanding what the other male was referring to.

The malamute smirked, "So...how do you want me?" Steele asked while temptingly showing off his backside to the wolfdog.

"I'm more of a traditionalist...I want you standing." Balto said, a bit embarrassed.

"Want to mount me? I think we can arrange that." The malamute kept smirking as he moved into position.

The other dogs watched as the others were going another round, some of them were already spent. But that gave them the chance to watch the two of them. Balto was only focused on Steele. The malamute eased his upper half down and raised his rump to give the other canine access.

Rather than mounting right away, he gave the same treatment as before. He planted gentle licks upon Steele's tailhole before pushing inside and licking directly at his sensitive walls.

With how proficient he was Steele could tell Balto was quite experienced in rimming others.

The wolfdog's tongue moved with both eagerness and purpose, preparing and exploring him while also providing plenty of pleasure.

Balto took his time to pleasure and get Steele ready for more pleasure. He enjoyed the moans that came from Steele and the feeling of his hole clenching down.

Steele pushed back against the licks and made a pleasured huff when the tongue reached even deeper. Some contact to his prostate roused his cock out of its sheath again, a clear sign that Balto was doing a good job. The rimming lasted for a bit more until the malamute was ready. His hole was wet but still snug around Balto's retreating tongue.

Some part of Balto thought he should feel guilty at how much he desired Steele in that moment, but it was drowned out by how excited he was to mount the malamute. Steele grunted a bit as Balto got on top of him, he was eager to see what the wolfdog could do.

Being a smaller size didn't deter Balto. In fact that gave him the chance to really prove himself and he was determined to do just that.

When being fully on top and finding his mark, he eased his cock inside. Steele groaned as his tailhole was spread even more. The other canine's inches sunk inside in a smooth manner. It wasn't forced inside but the licking done beforehand allowed it to ease in without issue, leaving just the knot outside.

Balto started slowly, but Steele quickly made his desires known. "I'm not some fragile thing, put some effort into it!" At the malamute's bequest the wolfdog increased both his pace and the force of his thrusts, moaning as Steele pushed back into them and spurring him to go faster still.

Balto had not expected Steele to be so domineering when he was on the bottom, he would have to satisfy him otherwise he might well take control of the pace entirely.

So he stopped holding back and gave the canine what he wanted. Putting his fear of hurting Steele to rest, Balto held on tighter and began to drive his cock in with more force and speed. It was hard enough for the malamute's body to be rocked upon each thrust.

A thump was heard from their bodies making contact over and over again. Now Steele was moaning out, feeling the pleasure he was looking for. Balto's cock was reaching in deep and it struck his sweet spots with enough force to send jolts through his body.

"Th-that's it Balto...just like that..." Steele panted, he didn't know that he had needed it this much. The malamute moaned as the wolfdog relentlessly pounded him; he felt precum slowly leaking from his cock as the pleasure rose quickly alongside Balto.

"I-I'm not gonna last long like this..." Balto moaned.

"I like it intense, even if it's not for long...keep going!" Steele encouraged.

Balto nodded and proceeded to give it all he had. Even if I wouldn't last long, he was going to make it feel as good as possible. Steele actually threw his head back and moaned in a pitched and needy way. He rocked himself in time with the extra hard ruts. Balto's crotch slammed into his backside repeatedly and he felt the knot starting to stretch his tailhole even wider in a rough way.

As Steele said, it wasn't going to last much longer. Balto suddenly forced his knot inside with an extra hard shove. It was his last move before reaching a strong climax. The others were impressed and even came as well just from the sight of them going so hard and roughly.

As he unloaded his seed into the other canine, Balto still made small humps that ground against Steele's prostate. The two of them were milking each other and it was evident by the growing mess of precum that Steele was leaving on the floor.

Steele felt Balto force his knot inside and batter his prostate, but as much as it caused his cock to throb intensely it didn't push him over the edge and as he felt the wolfdog's warm essence spread inside him he could only shudder at being so close to climax, yet not able to pass that threshold.

The wolfdog panted as his orgasm ebbed out and pulled out of the malamute and flipped him unexpectedly unto his back and then pushed Steele's length into his mouth and throat causing the malamute to moaned deeply and hump into the warm inviting mouth until he finally came and filled the waiting wolfdog's mouth with his hot ejaculate.

They both panted as Steele's climax died down and Balto pulled his head away. "How was that?" Balto asked in a tired, but still smug tone.

"Pretty great, I would deduct some points for not making me climax alongside you, but your recovery was excellent so I will let it pass." Steele teased the wolfdog by making it sound like he was evaluating him.

The two of them and the other dogs in the shack began to settle down. As Balto cuddled close to him, Steele had to admit that this was a wonderful form of bonding. He already felt a lot closer to the wolfdog.

Steele could hear the other sled dogs whispering about wanting their chance with him and felt rather flattered. He had become popular again but not for the reason he expected.

For the time being they all got some needed rest for the journey back to Nome. They could see that it was snowing again, meaning they would have to trudge through drifts and keep a look out for any dangers underneath the extra layers of flurry stuff.

After resting for a bit, they were called out for dinner and were all given premium food as thanks for their work. The people of the outpost were very grateful for the support and gave the sled dogs as much as they could eat. Nikki certainly indulged himself and with a full stomach, him and the others then returned to the shack to get some sleep. It was night at this point and they would be heading back to Nome first thing in the morning.

The trek was thankfully mostly uneventful, Star did sprain a leg about halfway through, but as the sled wasn't carrying a delivery anymore there was plenty of space to put him unto it so they could transport him the rest of the way.

He was grateful and the others were more than happy to help him out. They were careful when going the rest of the way. Thankfully, the rest of the journey was just as uneventful but upon reaching Nome, they were met with cheers and applause from the waiting townsfolk and dogs. Their arrival was expected thanks to the owner calling that it all went well and saying they would return.

Steele was unprepared for the praise he received from dogs and humans alike. It was even better than before, because this time he felt that it was truly earned. He did a good thing because he was needed. And helping out the sled dogs and making things up to Balto was a reward in itself.

"Steele! Steele!" a frantic voice immediately caught Steele's attention.

It was Jack the husky. He broke away from the others and approached the malamute, pressing himself close to the bigger dog. "I was worried when I heard that you went with the others. And I heard there was heavy snow and you guys didn't come back yesterday..."

"Jack, Jack..." Steele soothed. "We just needed to take a detour. Other than that, everything went just fine."

"Other than Star spraining his leg." Kaltag helpfully added, but it only awarded him with several flat looks.

"Ahem... Yes...other than that, everything went fine." Steele repeated.

He was rather touched that Jack cared that much about him. But he also felt guilty for not saying anything before he left. The husky was clearly worried sick about him.

"We're going to take him to the vet. Do you want to help?" Steele offered. Jack perked up and nodded.

The malamute smiled and introduced him to the others. The sled dogs were polite towards the younger canine and let him assist.

"Wait...isn't he the delinquent..." a dog said before another covered their mouth. "Yes...but Steele's looking after him now, so please don't bring it up."

"Ah okay...got it..." The first canine agreed.

The husky helped the sled dogs bring Star to the vet. While making the trip, Steele talked to Jack about something important. "Did you think about what you wanted yet?" Steele asked Jack whose ears lowered.

"Not really...I just...couldn't think of anything..." he wasn't really a fit for any of the usual roles that the dogs in Nome had.

The malamute considered that perhaps he could take his "apprentice" with him when he returned to Ghastburg.

They brought Star to the vet and he was quickly taken care of. With that taken care of, the other sled dogs were relieved of their duty. They all thanked Steele for his help before parting ways.

"We wouldn't have gotten to the outpost if it weren't for you," Kaltag said.

"It was a lot more fun running along with you this time, that's for sure," Nikki agreed.

"It was nice to get a good long run in again," Steele chuckled as he began to stretch. "I was afraid those days were behind me." He winced from a sudden ache. It seemed that long strenuous run had finally caught up to him. Steele was reminded of his age. While nowhere near old, he was nearing the end of his prime. The malamute stood there for a few seconds, looking thoughtful and the other dogs asked if there was something wrong.

"I think... This is where my sledding career officially ends," Steele said with a certainty in his voice.

"Ends?" Nikki asked, nearly choking on the word. "You mean you're-"

"Yes," the malamute said. "I'm retiring."

If that trip to the outpost told him anything, it was that he couldn't keep going like that: pushing himself in his current state would only cause his older years to be filled with chronic aches and pains.

"So...you're leaving us again then?" Balto asked.

"Not quite yet...there are still a few things I feel I need to do..." The malamute smirked "Like passing on all the tips and tricks I know to the next lead." he teased the wolfdog.

He had also yet to speak with Jenna...hopefully she would give him the time to apologize before asking never to see him again.

Balto understood when he heard and offered to support him. Steele was grateful and the two of them went to find her. The wolfdog went ahead and greeted his mate. She was glad to see him too, being a bit worried when hearing about the heavy snow out there.

"Steele's here to see you," Balto said carefully.

Jenna looked surprised and looked over to see Steele standing a small distance away from there. There was a nervous expression on his face, something she never saw from him.

"Is it okay if he comes in?" Balto asked her.

She nodded and Balto told Steele that it was okay. As the malamute approached, Balto remained close to him. This surprised Jenna and she knew at an instant that the two of them had bonded and forgiven each other.

She had thought a lot about how she felt about Steele while they were away and seeing that her mate had managed to make up with him was the guarantee that he had indeed changed for the better. Steele apologized for how he treated Jenna and all that he put her through. She listened to her words and waited until he was finished.

When Jenna didn't respond right away he feared that she wouldn't forgive him.

"If you had asked me some months back I would have immediately told you to get out...but you are not the same dog as you were back then." She smiled softly at him. "I will ask you to never court me again."

Steele bowed "Of course...of course! I wouldn't dream of it."

"Good. Then I forgive you, Steele." Those words finally coming from Jenna eased a lot of weight off of Steele. He could finally shed the guilt that weighed down his shoulders.

Having repaired that damaged relationship, Steele went about the town making right any wrongs that remained. In that time, Star and the other sled dog on the team had recovered, meaning that Steele was relieved of duty.

The other dogs heard of Steele's decision to retire and they all gathered to celebrate his sledding career. Putting his personality aside, the malamute had achieved many feats and that run to the outpost gave him one final accomplishment to cement as part of his legacy.

At first the humans were confused but seeing the dogs giving their respect to Steele made them understand. They also saw that Steele was getting past his prime and it was about time he stepped down with grace.

When the ceremony was finished, Steele was officially relieved of duty. He had passed on all of his knowledge onto Balto and the others. They would manage just fine without him but if they needed help he would return to assist.

He felt it was finally time for him to leave for his home. The dogs of Nome were sad to see him go but understood that he had a new place with friends waiting for him back there.

"Steele! Steele!" Once again, Jack came running in. The husky pressed himself close to the malamute as he began to tremble and whimper. "Please don't go. I wouldn't know what to do without you!"

"Oh stop sobbing Jack...I wasn't going to leave without you." The husky looked up and was shocked by the malamute's smirk. He blinked the tears away before starting to cry again, but this time because he was so happy that Steele wasn't going to leave him behind.

"But...but...why didn't you tell me?" Jack with confused emotion.

"I told you I would get back at you for stealing that sausage from me." The husky was baffled, he hadn't thought his mentor would play the long game like that, he thought he had gotten over that already.

"If this is what you will do from just that...I don't want to get on your bad side for real..." Jack murmured.

"Good boy." Steele smirked, hopefully this would make the lesson stick.

When the time came the dogs of Nome came to see Steele and Jack off.

"We're gonna miss you around here," Nikki said with an emotional tone.

"Just when we were getting used to having you back," Kaltag added.

"Try to keep in touch if you can," Star said, sounding rather sad as well.

"I'll do my best. If trouble ever arises, just howl for me and I'll be there," Steele assured. "But until then this is goodbye."

"I'm glad I was able to come back and make a difference. And I can see that Nome is in good paws," he said, referring to Balto.

"Ghastburg isn't that far away, you are free to come visit if you end up missing me that dearly. Or heh...retire yourselves." Steele joked a bit to lighten the mood.

With everyone having said their goodbyes the malamute and husky left the town and headed for the next chapter of their lives.

-

Jack stood at the town of Nome yet again, this time on his own. It had been quite some time since he had left with Steele. He was quickly greeted by the dogs, they had kept contact over the many months he had been away.

He had been asked to come for one very special occasion, Balto was to retire like Steele had before him. The wolfdog and his mate had decided to follow in the malamute's pawprints and retire to the quiet town nearby and he was to be their escort. Balto assured all his children that this wasn't goodbye forever and that they had all grown so much and were ready to live without him or their mother, but made them promise that they would be there for each other.

Kodi was to be next in line for the lead role when the dog Balto had chosen to succeed him retired, his son had immense talent, but just lacked experience.

"So Jack...how is Steele these days?" Balto asked.

The husky huffed amused "He won over the wife of the old man with his immense discipline quite some time ago and is living really well alongside them...I'd say he deserves it."

A long and difficult career and he had only made one major fumble, but had sought to make up for it afterwards, so most thought it could be overlooked.

They were glad to hear that the malamute was still living a good life. While not very old, the intense days of pulling sleds through blistering winds and snow drifts were between him and Balto now as well.

It was time for the newer generation to take over. The other sledding dogs stepped away as well but had owners in Nome that they could rest and spend the rest of their days with.

"So you're here to be our escort?" Jenna asked with a sweet tone that made the husky blush.

"Indeed I am. I'll lead you through the quickest and safest route, ma'am," Jack replied.

He had grown a lot; he used to be a homeless husky with no place of his own who took out his frustrations of dogs weaker than him.

But with the help of Steele, he had grown into a responsible dog that sought to help others just as his mentor still did.

Jack looked at Balto and seemed to remember something "Oh right...Steele said to tell you the answer is "Ice". No idea what that means though."

Balto's expression fell for a second then he laughed "So he managed to edge me out at the very end." he and Steele had been ending back and forth riddles, competing to see who could solve the most until Balto retired and with this final correct answer Steele had managed to win with one point.

Jenna chuckled with amusement. "What did you two wager for this competition again?" She asked and Balto blushed "Err...well..."

She sighed, she should have known "Well that's certainly one way to start your retirement." She teased her mate.

Jack laughed at how speechless the wolfdog became.

Most of Nome came to see Balto and Jenna off, it wasn't a big secret where they were going, but they would still miss their presence despite their new home not being all too far away.

Though the new generation was there to take his place, they would still miss Jenna and Balto's presence around town. Balto thanked all of them, for giving him a chance and giving him a good life.

In time the two of them were leaving for their retirement with Jack leading the way.

"Be careful," Jack warned them. "The snow has a sheet of ice over it."

"I may be past it as a sledding dog, but I'm not an elder mutt yet," Balto said playfully. He appreciated the warning and carefully navigated it along with Jenna.

When they arrived at Ghastburg they felt the same pleasant atmosphere that Steele had told them about, it just felt right to retire here.

"Come on...I will introduce you to everyone!" Jack said enthusiastically. Both looked forward to their new life.

"Well well...look what the cat dragged in." Despite the teasing tone Balto beamed at the sight of the malamute "Good to see you so well Steele." The two former enemies greeted each other warmly.

Their time was over in Nome, letting the younger generations take up their place, but that didn't mean there still weren't adventures, joys and memories to be had in the strange town of Ghastburg.
