  • * * Chapter Three- Minuet of Innocence One week had passed since Aiden came back to Sircosgi. During that time, Sircosgi had recovered greatly- the doctor's chalked it up to his enduring spirit, of which they could not find the source. Sircosgi, meanwhile, was just happy to finally have someone to talk to. As for Aiden, he just shrugged and laughed. Sircosgi, however, had been transferred to another room that he shared with another male- Andy was the young male's name. The young fox- dark red in color- had been involved in a car accident. He knew nothing of his past, except that his name was Andy- or, at least he thought so. According to the police report, or what the doctors had told him, he had been ejected from the car when it struck a pole late at night. His mother, in the front passenger seat, had initially hit the pole and immediately had her spinal cord snapped, instantly killing her. The car had wrapped around the pole, essentially trapping the father, crushing him. By the time the police arrived, he had died of asphyxiation. Andy, meanwhile, was lying in the middle of the road, a severe concussion knocking him unconscious, and several cuts, scrapes, and gouges from broken glass. When he had recovered he had been unable to remember anything. Luckily, he had a note that had been handed to him earlier by a friend at his school. Among the parts that were not blood soaked from his wounds was the part 'Andy, I am sorry.' Thus, they assumed his name was Andy. After researching his family, they found he had none. His parents had no relations that were direct, thus the authorities were stumped as to where to place the young male. He was, at the time, assumed to be sixteen. Yesterday they had done a finger-print test to see if anything matched, yet with no results they could assume he was, generally, a well-to-do kid. When Sircosgi had first met him, Andy was horribly shy. However, after Aiden came back for a visit and brought Andy some candy from the store to make him smile, he had opened up greatly. Much more mobile than Sircosgi, who was now able to sit up and be moved around in a wheelchair, he would often lay next to the kangaroo-rat and talk, asking questions about life. Sircosgi, being the gentle one he was, would listen to him talk and try to be as honest with his questions, remembering how he felt when he too was in a similar situation. It was one day, when Andy was at a physical therapy class that Aiden came in to Sircosgi sitting up, deep enough in thought that he didn't hear his mate enter. Aiden smiled and sat on the side of Sircosgi's bed, the two of them having come to an agreement to not influence Andy with their relationship as he was still in a fragile state of mind. "What's got you so worked up?" he asked, Sircosgi now looking at him. "Aiden, what if I had been offered a guardian position?" he asked softly. Aiden looked at him, confused. "Elaborate, please." "Well, the state was back here to tell me that they had no luck in finding Max," he said softly, Aiden understanding the meaning. "However, they did speak to me about Andy. Apparently, they will soon have to place him in State care." He bared his teeth. "I grew up in such a system- it will ruin the good that the kid has and will just," he paused, sighed, and looked at Aiden. "In any case, they noticed my overall, euh, pleasure at the thought." Aiden rolled his eyes. "So, did you offer-" he began, before stopping. "You didn't offer, did you?" Sircosgi shook his head. "Call it a guilt trip, coupled with my own memories. They had explained that it would be good for Andy to be in a stable environment. I agreed, of course, and they then asked about me for a short while. To make a long story short, they somehow got me to agree to," he stopped. Aiden groaned. "I wish I would have been here." Sircosgi looked down at the floor. "Sorry," he said. "I know this is severely imposing on you." "No, I wish I would have been here to ask if there had been any question that I wouldn't!" Aiden said, grinning. "Since you have been in here, love, I have been doing my research. Within this wonderful state, adoption is wonderfully easy." Sircosgi whipped his head up. "I was already planning on offering to the State that if they gave us enough time, we would be more than happy to host Andy. It appears that they beat us to the blow- this may mean an extension on the course." "Course?" Sircosgi asked, confused. "Yeah, you have to go to a month long course and listen to people talk about how to treat children and sign some papers. They have too many kids and not enough houses, so generally if you show up you can adopt." "Are you sure it won't be a burden? On you, I mean." "You get a check for their expenses. Not that it will matter, I have enough money," Aiden said, grinning. "How so- what exactly do you do for a living?" Sircosgi asked, grinning. "Still not gonna tell you," Aiden said, smiling. This would be the third time Sircosgi had tried to figure it out, and gotten that same response. "Fine," Sircosgi said, sticking his tongue out. Aiden chuckled softly. "You want to practice walking again?" Two days ago, Aiden had helped Sircosgi to his footpaws and held him up while Sircosgi regained his strength. This, unfortunately, resulted in a lot of pain, forcing Sircosgi to be medicated for the remainder of the night. Sircosgi merely laughed. "Let's try some other day." The door opened in mid sentence and Andy slowly padded in. "AIDEN!" He exclaimed, rushing over to the feline, wincing in pain, and hugged him, feeling extremely dizzy. Aiden supported the young fox, grinning. "Howdy. Let's be a little slower there, huh?" he suggested, sitting the fox next to Sircosgi. "Anyhow, we have a bit of news for you." Andy looked at the two. "Yeah?" "Would you be okay if," Sircosgi began, "you lived with us?" he finished, speaking slightly above a whisper. Andy looked at the two of them. "Seriously?" The young fox asked, excited. Sircosgi and Aiden nodded. "That rocks!" he cried out, wincing at his volume, and almost tackling Sircosgi in joy. The kangaroo-rat merely smiled and embraced the fox, his body crying out in pain. Aiden laughed and patted Sircosgi on the shoulder. "I take that as a yes?" Aiden asked, smirking. "Of course!" Andy said, now bouncing on the bed in triumph. A nurse walked in. "What is this ruck-" she said before properly looking around. "GET DOWN FROM THERE THIS INSTANT!" Andy stopped hopping, sat on the side of the bed, and grinned. "Anyhow, I come to inform you all that you will be discharged in the morning. Mr. Sircosgi, I need you and your friend to sign some papers for yourselves and the young'un here," she said, smiling. "I will have it drawn up for you." She said, bowing out of the room. "I can't believe it!" Andy said, excited. "Yeah, but this means you have to listen to us. So, pipe down," Aiden said, grinning. "All right," the young male said, complaining. Sircosgi merely laughed, wondering what the two of them had gotten themselves into. The next morning, Sircosgi was wheeled out to Aiden's car, his small amount of belongings in his possession, and placed in the front seat. Andy followed, looking around in wonder- it had been the first time outside since the loss of his memory. Aiden smiled as he put the fox in the car, closed the doors, and drove off. "Sircosgi," Aiden said after a short while, "the police have searched your flat and got your essentials. They closed it down, essentially, so don't worry about rent or anything- from now on you live with me," he said. Sircosgi nodded. "And for you, young Andy, I think you will like your new room," he said, grinning. "Sweet," Andy said before closing his eyes. "I forgot- how do you two know each other again?" The two males looked at each other. "We met each other at a party and we became really good friends," Aiden said, smiling. "When I found him hurt, I was distraught," he further explained. Andy smiled and nodded. "Any other questions?" Andy twirled his tail around in his paw, deep in thought on another topic. "Guess not," Sircosgi said as he turned on the radio. "Christ, not that weird music again," Aiden said, groaning as the opening tunes of Sircosgi's foreign music CD filled the silence, holding his paw in his own in a show of good faith. They failed to notice Andy looking up at them, smiling, then returning to his thoughts. Aiden pulled into his driveway, his house modestly sized, Sircosgi lightly dozing in the seat next to him. He looked into the back to see Andy curled up, sucking his thumb. He chuckled as he stopped the car in its place, opened his front door, and carried Sircosgi in to lie on the couch. He walked back out to see Andy stirring from his slumber and waited for the kit to wake. "Where are we?" Andy asked, holding his head in one paw. Aiden grinned. "We're home." Andy walked around the house, his small amount of luggage in tow. He had smiled when he saw Sircosgi sleeping on the couch, momentarily considering waking him up before allowing him to sleep- it had been a long day already. Aiden leaned against a wall, smiling at the young kit. "So, do you like it?" He asked. The young fox looked around. Red stone formed the walls, with wooden floors. The room was modestly sized, a large bed comprising much of the space. There was a pair of dressers, and other than that not much else. "It's cozy," the fox said, smiling. He walked over to the bed. "I'll have to look around," he said with a smile. Aiden nodded. "There isn't a television in here," he said, smiling. "I don't actually own one of those." A small blush went on the older cat's cheeks. Andy smiled. "That's fine- right now I just really have to go to the bathroom- where?" "Down the hall to your left- I am going to go take Sircosgi to bed." Aiden said, smiling. "If you need anything, I may be in the room making sure he's okay." Andy nodded and hurried off, bouncing from one paw to the other, making Aiden shake his head before walking over to Sircosgi. "Hey," he said to the smaller rodent. Sircosgi opened his muzzle, gave a deep sigh, and opened his eyes, looking completely at peace. "Allo," he said to Aiden. "Que-what's up?" he asked, quickly covering his French. Aiden smiled as he leaned over and picked Sircosgi up. "We're going to bed." Sircosgi had his eyes clenched. "Now?" he asked, impatiently. "Okay," Aiden said, opening a curtain. Sircosgi opened his eyes to examine the room around him. It was large, with a four-poster bed in the middle, surrounded by furniture of various sorts. He smiled. "It's beautiful!" "Through this door," Aiden said, "is your bathroom." Sircosgi put his head to a side. "Are we not sharing a-" "Not yet- we still have to make sure Andy won't freak out." "Okay." Sircosgi said with a smile. "But you should come and visit me sometimes," he said with a wink. Aiden chuckled. "Yes, sometime I shall." Sircosgi looked around the male to find the door closed. "I want to thank you for everything you have done," he said, reaching a paw gingerly up to the shirt Aiden was wearing, pulling him beside him for a kiss. Aiden blushed- he was unused to such forwardness. He relaxed, however, and began to murr. Sircosgi softly rubbed a paw on Aiden's side before resting on the cat's crotch. "Take 'em off," Sircosgi ordered, "and spin around." "Yes sir," Aiden said, doing as he was ordered. He lay before Sircosgi's face, his pants and underwear in a small pile next to the bed. Sircosgi smiled- Aiden's cock, like his, had begun to harden, slipping out of its sheath. Aiden, getting the idea, positioned his legs on either side of Sircosgi's face, allowing his felinehood to dangle in front of the rodent's face. "Let's play a game of cat and rat," Sircosgi said softly before leaning up and licking Aiden's cock. The cat instantly murred at Sircosgi's action, his cock leaking pre already. Sircosgi slowly placed a claw on the tip, bringing the claw to his muzzle and slowly licking it before returning his attention to the cock in front of him. He bobbed his head back and forth, churring softly as Aiden leaked more pre into his waiting, greedy muzzle. Aiden gently rubbed the roo-rat's back, trying not to gasp. There was a knock on the door. Aiden, immediately, rolled off the side of the bed, grabbed his pants and underclothing, and in a fluid motion pulled them on as Sircosgi lay back in his bed. "Come in, Andy." He said as Aiden moved to the bathroom, blushing furiously. Sircosgi covered his smile with a paw as Andy walked in, sniffed the air, and shrugged. "Your room smells a little bit," the young wolf said. Aiden's shoulders sank, but Sircosgi merely laughed. "Probably because I need a good, long bath," he said, inviting the younger male to sit beside him. "So, you doing good?" he asked. Andy nodded energetically. "Great," Sircosgi said. "Um," Andy began as he saw Aiden in the bathroom, "what are you doing?" he asked, curiously. Aiden turned around and smiled, running a paw through his hair. "Making sure everything is okay for Sircosgi." He explained. "What are you doing?" Andy froze and blushed before mumbling something. Sircosgi slowly leaned forward. "What is it?" he asked. Andy looked at Aiden before putting his muzzle close to one of Sircosgi's large ears and whispering. Sircosgi nodded. "Aiden, I think Andy and I need to be alone," he said. Aiden nodded and smiled, ruffling Andy's head fur on his way out. "Call if you need anything!" He said as he closed the door. Sircosgi looked at Andy. "Okay, explain what's wrong to me," he said in a soft voice. "Ever since I woke up," Andy said, "I can't fall asleep if I am alone. I-" he froze before tearing up, "I-I don't know if I will wake up knowing who I am, or if I will lose more of what I am!" He dissolved into sobs, crying on Sircosgi's shoulder. The roo-rat merely leaned back, put an arm around the younger fox, and rubbed his back. After some time, Andy stopped crying and ran the back of his paw across his eyes. "S-Sorry," he said. Sircosgi shrugged as he pulled Andy tight to him. "It's okay- you hungry?" Andy shook his head. "Want to watch a movie?" Andy thought before nodding. "Go pick one out," he said as he gave Andy a tight squeeze, the fox hopping out of the bed, padding over to the stand with a few movies on it, selecting one, and putting it into the player. He padded over to the bed, climbed back in, and looked at Sircosgi. "Can I get under the covers?" he asked, blushing. Sircosgi nodded as the fox lifted the sheets from underneath the rodent, covering the two. The movie started and Sircosgi recognized it immediately. "So, you like fantasy?" he asks as a golden ring is bestowed upon a lesser race of beings that were short and had extremely hairy feet. Andy nodded, the two of them focusing on the movie. Two hours later, the movie was nearing a close. Sircosgi looked over to find Andy asleep, his body curled into a ball, his head resting on Sircosgi's shoulder. He smiled as he watched the rest of the movie, falling into a deep slumber as the would-be traitor was killed by opposing forces. He woke up later that night to find the television had been turned off. He looked to his left and saw Andy, who had straightened out, but still snuggled with Sircosgi. He then looked to his right to see Aiden sleeping next to him, holding his paw gently. Sircosgi looked up to the skies above and smiled. No matter how dysfunctional or abnormal it was, he had found something he wanted- a family. He blinked back tears as he allowed himself to fall back to sleep, wondering what the future held for them all.
