#3 of The Silver Thread

This story takes place in a quasi-earth setting graciously to the future where technology is embraced but cautiously to keep in balance with nature.

Crimson Nova, which some of you may know, gave me permission to use his character to write out this dream story. Its not a commission, but the dragon in my dream was a young red male with earfrills and he was my first and obvious choice :)

If you lengthy descriptive stories that aren't completely centered around sex then this one's for you. This one is one of the few stories I've written that dosent have a yiff scene, sorry =P

Still got lots of suggestive themes and some arroused heat but no yiff :)

  • Crimson stood before the giant polished marble building; Vertigo Labs. Before him sprawled a massive courtyard with perfectly trimmed hedges and an illustrious fountain that rained sparkling water droplets into its own lowermost bowl sat directly before him. Tall life-like statues of long deceased dragons, saurians and other breeds lined the dual paved pathway, their historical deeds etched in stone at the base of their feet. Short rows of exotic Hempheio Rosia flowers dotted here and there near benches and particularly well worn walkways- the flower's pollen mythologically caused arousal and heightened sexual activity so it was little wonder they were planted all around the world's foremost breeding facility. Soft ether glows littered the ground, illuminating the scene with an almost romantic surrealism.

  • Though the workers and civilians that wandered the courtyard seemed completely unphased, it made a tight knot in the young ruby-red dragon's lower stomach.

  • He wasn't even sure why he was here. The saurian male who had come to his door had been a courier simply to deliver a small package. Curious he'd opened it and inside was but a request of appearance, instructions on how to get to Vertigo exact from his home and a passcard for temporary use on the employee Waveway Tram. Vertigo was one of the top most corporations known to Yuria and leader in its industry with some of the most advanced technologies so it seemed prudent to at least find out what the request had been sent for. They'd even created the AIPA system that protected citizens from the Belogrs... Now that he was here, however, Crimson felt fairly out of place being only one of the two out of two-dozen or so citizens that wandered around the courtyard wearing any clothing.

What am I getting into this time... He thought to himself, the knot in his groin turning to an icy lump in his stomach which he beat at furiously with what mental restraint he could muster. There was no reason to think anything was wrong. A sudden striking churn of emotions threatened to overcome him and, for a split second, he thought he might vomit right in the middle of this public place...

" Crimson?" The soft rasp of talons on stone stopped somewhere close behind him. Momentarily strengthened, he straitened and turned his head, fairly confident he didn't show any outward sign of his sudden weakness. " Crimson Flamestar Nova?" She repeated.

  • He didn't even need to see her, or hear her voice- her scent alone would have told him she was female. As his eyes met hers, he found himself instantly searching her over. The attendant was clothed in a loose lab robe that barely hid her modesty from him; she was a deep succulent blood red from tip to tail with gorgeous semi-transparent wings and drawing green eyes. She was of his lineage too, the ear frills gave that away but with two minor differences; this young woman also adorned a pair of small backward curved horns and had a cute little horizontal tail spade. It took most of his restraint to keep from slurring out his-

" Yes...?" response. She smiled at him ever so sweetly and, for an instant he thought me might jump at her and find out what she looked like beneath those robes.

  • At just the right moment to break his centered concentration she produced a thin square clipboard and handed it to him. Taking the small board numbly, he starred at it in incomprehension for a long moment. With a giggle she retrieved a pen from the front pocket of her garment and offered it to the confused young male.

" If you'll sign this, then I can take you directly to the Councilor."

Councilor? Take me? Take me where...

" What... is it?" He asked, holding the pen numbly, his mind not able to comprehend what he was reading.

" Our standard non-disclosure form. We are a breeding facility after all; while here you could overhear anything from pregnancy status to clutch sizes to whos-the-father-of-whom." She smiled again. " Regardless of whether you do or don't, signing this contract states you wont repeat any information not directly pertaining to you or your immediate family to anyone not an authorized person of Vertigo Sites."

  • Already lost, the red-scaled dragon youth carved his name expertly on the digital paper with a single eloquent stroke.

" And here-" She tapped the top left corner of the clipboard and the page shifted, detailing another part of the contract. " This one states that, in the event of breaking the first contract, any information you pass outside Vertigo can be lawfully expunged from all records deemed necessary by Vertigo to insure the privacy of its patients and that you forfeit all lawful clams to that infor-"

" Yes yes." He waved off the continuation, finishing inscribing his name on the second page.

" Ahh..." She smiled at him with a nod, " Of course, my apologizes. This way please." She stated after retrieving the pen and contract board. Crimson found himself much less attracted to her after that.

  • Vertigo Labs was just as amazing on the inside as the outside; spotless blue tinted white walls with perfectly neat and clean holographic emitters to point you in the right direction no matter where you wanted to go. Once inside however, the activity was nearly non-existent; employees stood behind desks and counters talking to one another, seemingly startled into pretending busyness upon his passing by. Whispers at the edge of his hearing and stares upon his backside were beginning to unnerve the young drake, making him feel like some sort of escaped lab animal being leashed in. Then, just as he was ready turn around and scream, Crimson and his guide passed through a different doorway, one of thicker metal that required keycard and PDAK (personal datacore access key). He'd hardly noticed walking to it, accessing the controls or passing through the bolted gateway but as he did, all anger and frustration abated from him- replaced instantly with awe and curiosity.

  • The door closed behind his tail with a soft swoosh of pressurized air. The rub-colored female did not proceed and after a few minutes of this idleness, Crimson found his temper returning. With the digital notebook pressed at her chest with arms crossed over it, she turned her head back to look at him with one diamond green eye. For a moment, a flare of that former desire sparked in the young dragon's mind.

" Don't breath." She simply stated with a wink and turned away with a swish of her tail.

  • Of course, on instinct, he did exactly that. Nostrils flaring to identify the source of this mysterious warning, a puff of smoke as white as steam erupted from four sides of the small enclosure they stood in. Instantly his entire insides caught fire burning his throat and lungs, forcing his body to double over in intense pain. He tried to cough but an instant before the spasm came; his throat constricted painfully stifling the attempt. Unfortunately, the instant that need to cough passed his airways opened allowing another instinctually drawn lung full of that burning gas into his body. The red-scaled female stood a foot away, eyes closed, unbreathing. As the world around him began to fade and a horrible fear consumed what of his mind the pain did not, Crimson reached out; to strike her or for aid he could not tell but his effort fell short. He collapsed, barely brushing her tail.

  • The glass bubble on the other end of the causeway hissed with the release of pressurized air and lifted upward. The violet and blue hued councildragon striding confidently toward the doorway halted a distance away, holding a paw up to his nose and fanned the immediate vicinity with a wing as the nearly silent humming of nearby ventilation fans kicked on, drawing away the deadly steam bath. As his amethyst shaded eyes met the crumpled form behind his assistant, he sighed with a sag of his wings, looking down while shaking his head.

"_ Sterilization complete. _" Chimed AIPA's artificial voice.

" You could have warned him Naya..." He groaned, motioning to the unconscious lump of scales upon the floor.

" I did." She retorted indignantly, stepping out of the chamber with light clicks of her scaled feet.

" You could have warned him better." He replied, raising an eye ridge skeptically. Her impish grin told him more then she would ever admit.

" Well... just think of this as an opportunity to extract a sample from him with minimal fuss." She winked at him and strode away, tail swishing seductively behind her.

  • Tressil watched his assistant with lusty slitted eyes, letting off a soft low growl when she finally moved out of hearing distance. Some day... With a sniff and a fake cough, the keen eyed old drake returned to the hear and now and his current task. Stepping up to the dragon youth, he bent down and slung the red male over his shoulder, starting off in another direction.

" Aipa, warm up Testing and Observation three-thirty four for me would you?"

" What temperature would you prefer- Tressil grinned. councildragon?

" HIS temperature." He exclaimed, hoisting the unconscious body up on his shoulder for emphasis.

" Affirmative"
