Allie and Sammi are evaluated to be priced for sale.

Chapter 4

Allie and Sammi looked up at the cloudy, blue sky as their friends got the last of their bags out of the back of the jeep. It was the least their girls could do. Let the pets-to-be feel out what they feel. Hearing the trunk close Sammi looked at the folder she held, then Allie. "The owner seems very nice."

"Yeah." Allie said far more chipper than both expected. "Kind of can't wait to climb that tree."

"Yeah." Sammi turned around with a smirk, it wasn't full but she was feeling at ease. "Be nice to just relax all day."

"No stress."

Joeanna smirked as she looked at the cat. "You're going to be a lap cat aren't you."

"I hear it's the best way to get cuddles." Allie giggled. The mirth was good but only half genuine.

"Won't just be cuddles you'll be getting." Joeanna said not realizing that might be in bad taste.

Allie and Sammi snorted and the black cat said. "It will just all in a day's work."

"Damn I really missed out on ya."

Tamma, Sizzie, and Dallia all looked at the raccoon with a stack of clothes in a basket. She smirked and decided to lean into the situation. "You caught me...always wanted some of those kitty cat carpets."

"Well now you'll just have to settle for Dallia's big rug." Allie laughed as they neared the office.

"That doesn't even make sense." Dallia laughed. "Plus she doesn't even have the equipment I like."

"She's got plenty of equipment." Sizzie said with a giggle. "I've seen it all."

"When?" Tamma asked rhetorically.

"Took a wrong turn in her mouse."

"Anyway if Joe wants she can join us." The beagle said as the group fit into the office again.

"You all seem in higher spirits." Kyla commented looking at the group.

"Well, we figured you gotta take the good and the bad." Sammi replied.

"That's a good way to think." The zebra smiled warmly. "We will take good care of you here." She took the papers from the cats and looked over the pile of belongings. She hummed, adding up what she thought it was all worth. She glanced at the clothing of the cats, added it to the list then looked at their bank balances and nodded as she started the paperwork.

"Um, can I ask you something?" Allie enquired as she took her seat with Sammi.

"Of course, darling." Kyla said.

"So umm what are our chances of being bought? By a good home." Allie asked, hoping they wouldn't have to worry about being eaten again. Last ditch efforts were just that, the last ditch.

Kyla thought for a moment. "Well considering that the two of you are rescues you'll have a sympathy boost. Hopefully your donations will cover your debts and you will get a good evaluation making you a good deal." The zebra smiled. "But just remember you might not be bought together."

"Yeah." Allie said, looking at Sammie, thinking about how much that would suck.

"So." Kyla said, clapping as she smiled comfortingly. "Shall we get the paperwork out of the way."

"Yes, let's." Samantha chimed nearly happily.

"So here are your forms, I highly suggest you read them thoroughly." The zebra slid two thick sheets of paper over to the cats.

Allie and Sammi's hearts raced as they looked at the forms elegantly written on parchment much like a birth certificate or a marriage license. It was titled article 23, Declaration Of Domestication.

I ____________ hereby relinquish all rights, freedoms and worldly possessions and declare myself sapio-domestic. I will be sold for a price set for me according to the regulations of this country and be legally sold to a mammal who will henceforth be my master. I do this with complete knowledge, I cannot rescind this decision unlike my peers born into this status.

I do this for the protection and security of my master's home. I will serve my master's whims for my daily meal. My only obligation is to my master who opens their home to me. My wants will be that of my master's praise, my desires are for my master's happiness. That will be my greatest happiness. My life and my future are my masters to decide and I will be thankful for my master's mercies. My name, offspring and even the nature of my end will be for my master to decide. In the event I am ever separated from my master, it will be my duty to enter the care of a public pet shelter that will reunite me with my master or find a new one for me to serve.

This I ____________ swear.

"It's all explained here." Kyla said with a comforting smile. "You can look it over when we head to the vet for your evaluations."

Holding the slightly oversized pen Sammi took a breath. "We'll be able to ask questions right?"

"Maybe take a class?" Allie added.

The zebra giggled musically, "of course dear, I encourage questions. It is the best way for a companion to learn." She smiled looking at the pair. "Classes other than perhaps learning from your fellow pets no." She smiled comfortingly. "You might be a little behind but it is all fairly simple."

Sammi nodded, reading the declination again while Allie signed. "Oh um if our owner changes our name what about this document?"

"It will be with your paperwork complete with your name change if there is one, some owners like to keep their rescue's name to help everything move along smoothly."

"Okay." Sammi mewed, before signing. With the stroke of a pen Samantha Crystal Verflucht and Allie Amilie Tresse were no more.

Sizzie looked at the other friends, her claws together as she asked. "Should we clap or something?"

"No, I don't think that would be appropriate, but goodbyes and hugs would be." Kyla said taking the top papers Sammi and Allie just signed. The group of friends did just that, hopping down to hug and talk. After placing each form in the appropriate file and double checking they were in the right ones, Kyla turned back to the group of smaller mammals. "I don't wish to rush Y'all but its best for y'all to get so Samantha and Allie can get about their day." She explained, she watching the group that seemed to be in now hurry, which was understandable.

Kyla gasped remembering something "oh girls if you go phones, put them in here with a sticky note of your passwords. Need to erase all your accounts." She pulled two baggies out of a drawer.

Sammi did so while Allie said her final goodbyes. Hugging and nuzzling her friends like Sammi had a already. Kyla smiled by the door before politely herding the Arrows, Dalia and Joeanne out explaining. "Let's give them some final bit of privacy." As the Zebra closed the door she said. "Knock when your ready but you have about 15 minutes before you have to leave for your appointment."

Both cats replied with an "okay." while Kyla was reassuring the group that their friends were in a good hooves. Allie and Sammi remove probably the last clothes they would ever wear. Other than a collar but those would come in time. Allie just balled everything up and tossed them in the box with their other clothes. She ran her fingers through her long unkempt fur, it wasn't matted, only a little dirtier than she would have liked.

Sammi however kept everything neat, which wasn't as normal as she would have liked to admit. With her clothes neatly folded, set on the pile of donations. The moment they signed those papers Sammi and Allie couldn't lay claim to anything. Not even their kittens if they had any.

'Hell some owners get their pets fixed.' Sammi thought before she felt a pat on her shoulder. "Hey girl, your ear rings."

"Oh." Sammi replied. She reached into the box and found the jewelry box and saying. "I'm going to ask Miss Kyla if there's a way to hold onto these."

"Those the ones your mom gave ya?"

"Yeah." Sammi replied, placing the ear ringbox in the pile. "But she would rather me live than keep them." She giggled. "But a champion got to look good, right?"

"Champion What?" Allie giggled knocking on the door with her tail across her body.

Sammi tried to do the same but a short hair cat can't hide like that. Thankfully her smooth black coat was hiding her private bits well enough. Not that it mattered anymore, she had no right to privacy. "Uh, Pillow warmer, i guess." she giggled a little at her poor joke.

Kyla opened the door smiling genuinely at them. They caught sight of Sizzie's ears and Joeanna's ringtail heading out the front door. Both cats sighed half hoping for another few hugs and maybe a couple compliments from Tamma and Sizzie.

"Don't worry little ones, everything will be alright." While some might find the phrase condescending, the zebra's tone was anything but, both really felt like Kyla thought of them as her little ones. "Just relax and let momma show you around."

The lay out of the store was fairly simple. There were the four large displays they had seen, plus a smaller display of ferrets and otters that had been hidden by the cat tree, a raised plexiglass circle about half the size of the dog area. One side was a pool with clear blue water, the other side was a jungle gym with a sand floor to burrow in. Like before either side could be accessed from the middle path, though now there were towels to dry off with lining the walls. Past that were the bathrooms, which the pets were permitted to use as well as the employee break room to get water and to heat up their dinner, typically nicer. There was also the stockroom back there but pets weren't allowed inside. Sammie and Allie tried to memorize everything but it was a lot with the rules they had to learn.

Most of the rules for being a pet were in the papers they had skimmed through already, they would memorize them later. For now the store rules were enough. No leaving the store for any reason unless on a leash or in a state of emergency. Drop everything if a customer addresses them and always try to sell themselves. Of course by law they could not object to potential owners. It wasn't a rule that they had to stay in their display areas but it was just heavily suggested. The larger pets were partially responsible for the smaller pets when the employees were busy with other obligations.

Kyla led the cats to the front of the store after showing Sammi and Allie the most important things around the tree. Namely the call buttons to have an employee come over to help with sales and the two catalog books. By now both cats had enough on their minds to make them forget to hide themselves with their tails. Instead they were up and swaying almost casually despite their nerves. They were paying attention like they might at a job orientation, too focused to notice the few glares they got from some of the pure breeds in the tree.

"You ready to go, Chelsea?" The zebra asked a friendly looking hyena biped.

"Yep." Chelsea was chubby and much shorter than Kyla, but she was still in the average range for bipeds. She wore a woven wool sweater over her long sleeve shirt and jeans with some fluffy winter boots. Cute and airheaded, both Sammi and Allie recognized her type as she smiled happily at the cats. "Come on, it's not a long drive but I want to beat the traffic."

Sammi felt her short hair stand on end. She was sure she wasn't going to like what was coming but it was something a pet had to deal with. Allie was more focused on her curiosity to control her nerves. In time they would get used to their new life, just like they did when they learned about how low they truly were on the food chain.

After checking if Sammi would need a coat, Chelsea brought them two collars with leashes and a puffy pink coat for the short hair. As the cats took the collars and tightened them around their necks, the hyena explained. "Unless you have a tag you're required to be on leash."

"So many little rules." Allie said with a chuckle. Sammi agreed as she put on the coat.

"I know right." Chelsea said giggling as she knelt to check the collars, though it seems it was more just an excuse to just rubbed both cats cheeks. "But at least now you don't have to work all day. Sounds nice." She giggled and stood smiling at her boss.

Kyla smiled and shook her head. "Sweetheart, get going." She giggled as she went about checking her day.

It was a short drive over to the veterinarian's office, like most of them it was smaller and homier then the typically clinical and professional doctors' offices. Pictures of happy pets from the many clients over the years lined the walls not taken up with displays. Many doctors chose to become veterinarians, simply because it was easier to work on pets, they didn't have boundaries, their masters paid for treatment and rarely have any kind of qualms for their pets treatment like they might for their own. Plus the penalties and fines for messing up were also much lighter.

Though most when asked would give an answer far from those cynical responses. They would heartily say they want to care for those who make others lives better just by existing. Besides when you get a pet that doesn't speak, the mysteries were fun.

The reception area was warm, something both cats were thankful for. Just the short walk outside had "froze" their little paws. Chelsea didn't seem affected as she took Sammi's coat and hung it up. At the front desk was a demi poodle in flower print scrubs. "Hey, Chelsea." She greeted the hyena, without looking up. "Room three." On the floor behind her was a feral miniature poodle with a classic poodle clip to match the demi. She was watching a little TV with a workout video on it. The pet looked over at the cats with a mischievous smile, she never stopped her back leg workout as she said. "Good luck."

"Porscha, be nice." The nurse said.

Stepping into the exam room Sammi asked. "Are these exams hard?"

"We were never good at tests." Allie giggled looking around the soft orange room. It was much like a normal doctor's office with a cushioned examination table, a couple other seats which Chelsea took, there were even diagrams of various things from healthy teeth to proper weight distribution for common pets.

Chelsea's ear twitched as she thought. "Uhh it's mostly just questions, but they'll weigh ya, get some blood, normal check-up stuff. Though umm the questions might be embarrassing but you got to answer them, you know."

"Okay." Sammi replied a little nervously. "How embarrassing."

"About as embarrassing as your parents asking about kinky stuff they don't understand... in public ...loudly ...with your whole high-school class watching."

"That sounds kind of specific." Allie commented looking up at the hyena bepid. Sammi agreed, the description unearthing memories that the black cat had buried long ago.

"It wasn't my whole high-school class...just my friends and the guy I was trying to date."

"Ouch." Allie commented with a grimace.

"This is going to keep me up for the next 6 months." Sammi pinching between her eyes.

A few minutes passed and an Ibex doe opened the door. She took a moment to check that the way was clear before entering. She was younger than the cats expected, at most a couple years older than them. Though the demi was still massive compared to her patience. Doubly so since she was a month or two away from the birth of her twins.

"Oh Diane, you're glowing." Chelsea commented with obvious familiarity.

"Thanks, Chelsea, how are you." Diana the veterinarian replied before the pair fell into chating. Sammi and Allie looked around with the familiar feeling of being ignored by those above them.

First time it happened at a doctors office and not with their managers at work.

The larger mammals took a couple minutes to catch up on things their elders may want to know. With some basic deduction anyone could figure out Diana is the daughter of the vet that opened the office, and that Diana's mother and Kyla were long time friends. Before more juicy gossip could come out Diana turned to Sammi and Allie asking. "So what did you bring me today?"

"Couple of rescues needing evaluation."

Nodding Diana she commented. "My favorite." She waited a moment for the hyena to pass her the pair's paperwork. Both newly domesticated mammals looked up at her wondering about that reaction. The veterinarian however was preoccupied with their histories then spreading out the paper so she could do what she needed to. "So you two know you have to answer truthfully to the best of your abilities all that? Lieing could get you in some major trouble blah blah blah legal stuff."

"Yes of course." Sammi replied while Allie simply agreed.

"Good like it when it's easy." Diana looked at the papers before blatantly asking. "Are you too virgins?" Both cats blushed and shook their heads. The Ibex nodded. "Do you know the number of partners you've had and were there any outside of your species, and type?" She paused and looked at the felines and added. "Only the males by the way."

Allie closed her mouth, feeling like the larger female had read her mind. Sammi was mean while counting. "I think twelve." She closed her eyes and added. "I'm assuming anal counts." The ibex nodded. "Other than cats I've been with foxes of all types, a bunny demi, otter biped and I think that's it."

"What about that lab in college?"

"Oh, ummm, would a blow job count?"

While Chelsea tried not to laugh while Diana simply said. "No"

Sammi's ears fell, feeling self conscious. "Then no." After prompting she repeated her list.

When asked, Allie said. "Seventeen, including a porcupine that was difficult, dogs and a few big cats if they count, bunny, mule deer and would sticking a mouse up there count." Despite her easy declaration she was shaking with embarrassment her fluffy tail bushed out and wrapped around herself.

"Sticking a mouse where?" Diana looked up. Allie closed her mouth and pointed at her crotch. "Okay, and was the mouse food or a lover?"

"L-lover." Allie muttered her confidence wavering. "Just for the night."

"Gotcha." Diana hummed as she wrote. "Any offspring?"

"Nope." Sammi replied.

Allie added. "Always make'em use condoms and both of us been on birth control since we were 16."

"15."

Allie looked at Sammi astonished while Diana simply wrote down some checks and said. "Ask Kyla if she needs a refill on the cleanser."

Both Sammi and Allie looked at Chelsea as she said. "Will do." Noticing the questioning look she explained. "Some owners don't like their pets to have chemicals in them."

Before the cats couldn't really think about that, Diana brought them back to the moment by asking. "Any disorders or diseases past or present?"

"Nothing more serious than fleas once." Sammi said glad for an easy one.

"Had a couple of infections...down there." Allie mewed looking away. "But they were years ago and clear up quick thanks to the meds."

"Mm hum, let's hope your skill can make you seem more of a deal." Diana looked up. "So tell me about what you two have done, sexually? Are your attentive lovers? What do you like and dislike? Aannnd just to get it out of the way, how are you out of the bedroom? Affection, talkativeness, any hobbies or talents your owner might be amused by?"

"We're both pretty affectionate." Allie replied, looking to Sammi for approval.

"Yeah both in bed and out. I've never been one to turn down cuddles but Allie might."

"Long fur."

"One at a time please." The veterinarian commented a little aggravated.

"Sorry." Both said together before Sammi continued this felt a little more normal like a first date. "I'm a bit of a nerd really, love video games and Syfy, can talk all day about most things like that." The Ibex cleared her throat and gave Sammi a look that told the cat exactly what she wanted, blushing hard Sammi stammered. "Oh ummm. All the normal stuff. You know on my back, on top, on my side...never really taken anything that big."

"On a scale between one and ten. One being a nervous virgin and 10 being a pornstar goddess, how good would you say you are?"

Taken back Sammi mewed. "Six I guess." She paused, changing her mind. "Seven, I've been told by many mammals I'm good with my tongue."

While Diana wordlessly acknowledged the black cat, Allie mewed. "I can attest to that." Chelsea giggled thinking about testing that out. "As for me, I... hide my nerves with forwardness and in the bedroom I'm about the same as her, six or seven. Done it all and well I don't like anything that gets stuck in my fur or stain it. For obvious reasons."

"Understandable but owners will do as they please."

"As for my likes, I'm... standard." Allie shrugged then ran her paw through her fur. "Just a normal kitty with normal likes and dislikes. I like the snow, skiing and a little gymnastics. Was a high-school cheerleader but wasn't that big on it." The long hair sighed. "The more I talk the more bottle shelf I sound."

Sammi's encouragement was cut off by Diana continuing with her questions. "How closely do you two follow rules and instructions?" She looked at the pets wondering why this question was so far down on the form.

"Fairly good I guess." Allie answered.

"I'm more or less a stickler."

"Obedient cats, that's rare." Diana looked at the pets, noting their reactions. "Are either of you trained in any of the following fields; dancer, singer, oritor, hunt-" the Ibex looked at the two at best ten pound kitties and continued. "guard, masseuse or medical fields?"

Sammi shook her head while Allie said. "Just the gymnastics I mentioned."

"Any other useful skills."

"We both have degrees in creative arts." Sammi said.

"I got a minor in teaching." Allie said. "Turns out I need more than that to be an art teacher." She giggled and rolled her eyes. "How things change."

"We also got several years of cashier experience." Sammi added.

"Okay. Thats all of the questions." Diana moved the files to the side and pat the table. "Hop up." The demis compiled without complaint, jumping up easily twice their height was no trouble for the cats.

Standing in front of Diana the cats waited for what was next. Sammi's tail slipping between her legs to curl up over her lower belly. The Ibex vet grunted as she gathered her instruments and rolled the stool just a little closer to the table then with a fee pumps of the handle under the stool lifted her up to be at a proper height above the pets. "Okay, here's the fun part." The Ibex said half sarcastically.

Holding her ophthalmoscope she leaned forward, she gave both cats a quick sniff before wordlessly holding Sammi's eye open to look at them. The same happened to Allie then after some notes Diana checked their ears. Both Allie and Sammi thought about how different this was then a normal doctor visit was. A doctor would talk to them about what they were doing, telling them what she thought. Now other than a little comment here or there Diana was quiet. Her findings were for her notes not even the pets needed to hear them and Chelsea was just their ride.

Besides, the hyena was busy texting.

Ears, eyes, teeth, gums, tongue and even their breath was checked. As far as they could tell they did well. The most they got was being called. "Good girls." As they got scritches behind the ears before Diana paused to say. "Wait you're not...well you got to get used to this." before continuing with taking their temperatures, thankfully with mouth thermometer, then check heart rate and blood pressure. The pregnant vet sighed and leaned back, rolling her shoulders and stretching her back. She looked at her belly like she was talking to it.

With a chuckle the Ibex got back to her work running a coarse comb through their fur looking for fleas, mats and the general health of their undercoat. Then without warning the vet wrapped her hoof around Sammi's left breast. Allie gasped while Sammi meowed in surprise. The black cat watched as her mound was squeezed in such a clinical way it was far from arousing, not that her nipple minded. Once seemingly satisfied with what she felt on the inside Diana searched through Sammi's fur. Almost robotically the veterinarian found the black cat's half stiff nipple. "Good color and size." She said before repeating the process with Sammi's other breast as well.

"Thank you." Sammi commented her face was hot as the vet felt around her middle adumin.

Diana easily found the black cat's second set of nipples. They were smaller but with a few flicks of the veterinarian's hooved thumb they stood up a healthy pink. With all four of her nipples standing up from the stimulation Sammi was starting to breathe heavier. Her face was flush under her black fur. "Is this necesar-sary?"

While Diana wrote her findings and decided to give the newly domesticated cats the answer. "Yes it is. Got to check everything so your owner doesn't feel lied to. Never know what you might be used for." Sammi nodded with a mew. "If they buy you for more than just being a companion, and you can't do the job...well you might be considered just taking up space."

As what the veterinarian said sank in, the exam continued with Sammi's waist. This time the cat was expecting what was coming. Her tail was pulled straight out behind her. She mewed and watched as the deer spread her fur to examine her lower lips before those were spread to. Now panting the black cat shook, unsure what to do with her paws. Diana took some notes before licking her thumb then rubbed Sammi's hooded nub. "uh-huh" the Ibex commented wordlessly as the cat's lips flushed soon love juice seeping from within. Sammi however eas utterly unsatisfied with the whole endeavor looking up, breathing slowly trying to control her twitching body.

"Always wondered which is easier the boys or the girls?" Chelsea asked while Allie just watched what was happening.

Diana looked at the hyena. "I prefer sausage myself, but I find neither appealing at work." Without looking at what she was doing the ibex ran her thumb through the juices all but dripping from Sammi.

"Never sampled a pet?" Chelsea giggled.

"Have you?" The veterinarian sniffed the wet finger. "For anything other than work." After making a note she licked her finger and hummed. "Pleasant, I'll write it down but talk to your owner about keeping your diet close to what you used to eat."

"T-thought they had kibble for that."

"Never been a fan of the fake stuff always suggest fresh." Diana said, wiping her hooves. "Okay sit back and show me the goods."

Still feeling unsatisfied, Sammi said. "I-I thought I just did." Diana tapped Sammi's back paw and the cat gasped and sat down holding up her legs for the veterinarian to feel the muscles.

"Need to work these out." Diana commented and noted before spreading the cat's paws checking her toes like she did earlier with her fingers. The healthy ash gray pads nestled among the black fur were scuffed and strong from the concrete and tile she worked on. She squirmed a little as the veterinarian rubbed the bigger ones.

With that Sammi's price exam was over. Diana said. "So does the good girl want chicken, fish, beef, rodent, sweet, or spicy."

"uhhh spicy?" Sammi said still not used to being talked to like that. The excited twitches in her body were dying down despite her needs.

Diana smiled as she pulled a bag of cat treats from a drawer after pouring some of the spicy meat chunks in Sammi's palm, the Ibex said. "You'll have to get used to that."

Allie's exam was much the same as her best friend's. Other than the normal difficulty of finding her 'good bits' in her long fur. "Your owner may trim you just so you're aware."

"I do-Oh my." Allie gasped as Diana skipped flicking her clit and plugged her hooved finger right in and wiggled for a second before checking the juices smell and taste.

"You were turned on by your friend's exam." Diana giggled as she whined her hand clean, the sight of Allie's dizzy face was quite funny. The persian mix shook her head as she was told to sit with her paws. After getting her twitch tail under control Allie did so. It took a moment for the veterinarian to find the cat's pink pads in the forest of fur, unlike her fingers.

With that and some chicken flavored treats the exams were over. Diana finished her notes and took the papers to fax them to the Domestic animal management network. While they exams were evaluated Allie, Sammi and Chelsea headed up front to get the receipt and the cats papers.

Sammi felt tingly all over as she put the pink coat back on. The embers of dissatisfaction burning in both of the cats as Diana returned. She looked at Chelsea then the cats, the ibex rubbed Allie's head saying. "Congrats your DAMN price is 650. Your degree bumped it up."

"Is that good?" The long hair asked.

"For a rescue it's not as simple as high or low." Diana paused thinking, "it's like buying a used car." Allie and Sammi smirked at being compared to a car. "Too high, why not buy new."

"Too low and you're worried about what you're getting." Sammi finished, she beamed as Diana rubbed her head, even turning it so the hoved fingers could get her right behind her ear turning. Her belly tightened the need for sexual satisfaction growing.

"Thought it meant something else." Allie mumbled.

"As for you." Diana looked looked at he black cat all but rubbing herself into the Ibex. "Your 635. Your friend would have been cheaper if it wasn't for her degree." Diana stood and said. "Good prices, you could get B.U.S.S.Y certified for a higher price, but most families don't want to deal with the bureau price or E.P.A.W.S bleeding hearts."

"Cynical." Chelsea giggled while Diana silently conceded the point before sending them all on their way.
