Following the soak in the jacuzzi and drying off, Charlene and I began to get ready for dinner with Aoi and Abigail. Mi Familia was a sit-down restaurant, but it wasn't an overly formal place, so we didn't have to dress in our formal attire unless we chose to. Pretty soon, it was about 6:45 and we were ready to head to Mi Familia to meet Aoi and Abigail. We left the kids with Rose, after making sure they had their dinner before we left, then got into the black hover car my sister and I received as a gift from Mike and Michelle several years back. It was a short drive from our mansion to the restaurant, located in the "Old Twin Lakes" portion of Familia, located (coincidentally) on the northeast corner of Diagonal Rd. and Abigail Ave. (which was re-named for her when Familia was founded).

Charlene and I were the first to arrive and we were the ones who made the reservations. There was a separate private dining area at the restaurant, and it happened to be open tonight, so Charlene and I figured that it would be best if we could have some privacy while meeting with Aoi and Abigail. We didn't know when or how they would be arriving, so Charlene and I waited for a little while for them to show up.

A few minutes later, I noticed Abigail's car pulling into the parking lot, stopping not far from where Charlene and I parked. They had come to the restaurant together, which would seem to make sense considering that Aoi was still new to the area. "Oh good, here they come now", I thought to myself, seeing Abigail and Aoi get out of the car, noticing that they were both dressed a lot more casually than I was. Aoi still had the same shirt I saw him in earlier while Abigail was wearing a blue tie-dye promotional shirt for "The Oasis".

They soon entered the restaurant and joined up with Charlene and I, with Aoi noticing how my sister and I were dressed. "Oh...I had no idea that this was a formal dinner", he mentioned while he and Abigail were holding hands.

"Nah, you're both fine. It's not like this place is one of those fancy pants expensive restaurants", I mentioned to Aoi as I came to realization that I probably over-dressed some for the occasion. Aoi and Abigail followed us to the private dining area, with the four of us having a seat at one of the tables there, with me sitting with my sister and Aoi sitting with Abigail. Soon after being seated, the four of us ordered dinner and had a little bit of time to talk while it was being prepared.

I felt like I should find out some more about Aoi, both out of my own curiosity and for Melissa's sake. "So, Aoi, what do you do for a living?", I asked curiously.

"Oh yeah, the coffee shop that Mari is eager to see open", I replied, thinking about past instances with Mari and her desire for coffee. "Chad and I own and operate IE's Video Game Division", she replied before I had something else to mention.

"My sister does much of the work there, considering that I have to spend a lot of time over at City Hall serving as Mari's deputy mayor", I added. "Personally, I don't know why Mari chose me over someone else. Because I'm someone who normally can't stand politics and...", I started to ramble before I felt Charlene nudge me with her elbow.

"Let's not talk about that here. Besides, you know that things are nowhere near that bad on Kapernia", my sister commented, bringing up some good points. "Plus, you know how Mari is, she's always one to put the welfare of her community first", she added.

However, I'm still new to Kapernia, so I don't know a lot about what the planet is like", he mentioned in a curious tone. My sister and I overheard him and figured we should try to explain things for him.

"Well, for starters, Kapernians are far less judgmental than those on Earth can be. Your average Kapernian isn't going to judge you based on something like sexual preferences or things like that. They tend to live based on 'The Golden Rule' more than anything else", I explained.

"Raposians are very similar in that regard", Charlene added. "They may not have been from Kapernia originally, but they tend to behave the same way", she continued.

"That is why Charlene and I feel a lot happier here. We're able to express ourselves more freely. Of course, it also helps that incest is more common on Kapernia than it is on Earth", I mentioned a few moments later.

Aoi listened while Charlene and I talked about things, seeming to pay attention to what we told him. He still seemed to have some questions to ask us, though. "Then, of course, there is also "The Oasis"...which I'm sure Abigail has already told you all about...assuming that you haven't already been there", Charlene replied, causing Abigail to blush slightly.

"We didn't meet at The Oasis, you two. Aoi and I met each other at Martinelli's. I don't think he's even been to The Oasis", Abigail replied.

The comments made Aoi blush some and act a bit on the shy side, with him covering his face with his tail. Abigail placed a hand on his shoulder and rubbed it a little. "It's alright, hon. I think they just brought that up because of my past. "When the time comes, I intend to retire from on-stage performing and see if my sister will let me join her in working as a manager", Abigail suggested as Charlene and I listened curiously.

"Don't get too far ahead of yourself, Abigail", Charlene cautioned her. "After all, you just met him. I think it's a little too early to be thinking about things like marriage and having a family", she added.

Abigail chuckled a little to my sister's remark. "True, but you can't blame me for having a dream now, can you?", she replied before I intervened.

"Yeah, that's fair enough. There's nothing wrong with wanting something in your life", I mentioned before placing my arm around Charlene. "Case in point", I added, referring to the mateship my sister and I had together. "Your boyfriend seems nice, Abigail...and if your brother and sisters were here to meet him, I'm sure they would approve of you dating him", I commented, causing Aoi to blush a little. Not long after this, the food that we ordered arrived. "Anyway, we can talk some more later", I mentioned while the food was being brought to the table, with the four of us soon turning our attention to dinner.

Two days later...

Aoi continued to look around a bit at the beach-like setting before settling down on one of the folding chairs. Once I had my drink, topping it off with a bamboo-shaped straw, I went over to where Aoi was and had a seat in one of the other chairs.

I briefly took a sip of the banyaberry punch, then set the cup down in the provided holder. "So...what did you want to talk about?", I asked curiously while sitting next to him.

"Well, for starters, I was wondering what I could do with Abigail. I want to take her out somewhere, but I'm still trying to figure out the stuff that she likes", he replied while I took another sip of the banyaberry punch.

He thought about it for a few moments as I took another sip of my banyaberry punch. "Do you think that she'd want to go there?", he asked curiously.
