Jacob/Israel

I wrote this poem over 12 years ago, but never presented it here.

I think this is a good time.

Th'eternal war I daily wage

Defending right with fists of rage

And though I take it on the chin

I will not let the Devil win

My actions sometimes contradict

My moral leanings, somewhat strict

But still I fight amid the din

I will not let the Devil win

And there are days, I must confess

When I give in and acquiesce

But I start over and begin

I will not let the Devil win

This endless battle rages on

My victories I build upon

While evil lives within my skin

I will not let the Devil win

'Though pain may crush me from within

And feel myself awash with sin

I will not let the Devil win

I will not let the Devil win
