#5 of Chronicles of the Justicar II: The LAst Stand

Infinite Head Quarters, Hanger Bay 1. Year 3,568 AD, November 24th, 6:00 AM

Arjun nodded to Liken as pulled down the massive rusted lever to start the process of having the huge metal bay doors come apart. The grinding of old gears that haven't been used in a while caused the doors to jerk once and a while before they finally came apart.

A blue and white VALOR drop ship appeared over the horizon, using its large helicopter blade on the top to fly towards its now clear landing zone. Arjun moved away from the landing pad so the rescue craft could get some room when in a split second it was crushed in mid air by some sort of massive hand. Arjun and Liken quickly avoided the burning wreckage to see a monster had destroyed the drop ship. The undead construct had the very noticeable feature of not only being incredibly large but made up of countless corpses from various races. It had no head merely a very large torso with budging arms that dragged across the floor with huge elephant like legs and feet. The monster roared, all of the innocent faces that made up this unholy mass howled to creating a Meta scream made up from various species, sexes and age groups.

The legion attacked. It swung down from the rafters onto the crashed drop ship crushing it further and reached for Liken but as the valgary ran away the arm grew and extended to follow her and not before too long the Meta undead monster had caught Liken and retracted its arm back to its original length. Arjun headed towards the destroyed drop ship looking to see if the expired marine's backpacks were still functional but the legion stomped its right massive foot on the ground causing corpses to peel off of its foot. The deformed and rotting cadavers stood up and began to make haste towards the human.

Arjun pushed a button on the side of the dead marine's power pack to retrieve a glowing cylinder generator but when he went to lift it up one of the zombies grabbed Arjun's by the shoulders and threw him onto his back. Several undead stood over the human all of them about to tear into his flesh when Arjun pulled out the side arm of the closet marine and fired the remaining bullets in the clip into the closet zombie, causing its head to explode in bloody ribbons. He quickly got up as the other monsters began attacking themselves when they smelled blood on each other bodies; Arjun took the cylinder and watched Liken thrash about in the Legion's grasp then took off.

The valgary managed to get her left arm free but the bodies that made up its fingers pulled at her with their own hands back into Legion's grip but Liken's own strength was more than it could handle and the valgary ripped apart the bodies that made up its hand. The random pitches and tones of various inhuman screams echoed from Legion's mass as it raised its torn apart arm into the air with loose bodies dropping to the ground. But the small victory was short lived as the bodies that hit the floor stood up and ran towards Liken. The nearest zombie jumped towards her but she impaled the undead in mid air with her three pronged tail which the undead roared a final time before she brought the zombie closer to her where she sunk her entire claw into the undead's face then ripped it from its shoulders. As Liken continued to slay Legion's servants the Meta undead only created even more causing her to become even more out numbered than she was before. Undead continued to walked off from various points from Legion towards her but the detachment of its servants did not shrink the monster in size in any shape or form. The valgary grabbed an undead by the forehead and titled its head upwards and with her free claw she ripped out its throat.

Liken looked up at Legion who continued to bring out more and more of its servants, until she was blinded by a flash of light that reflected from a metal surface far above the abomination. As the reflection died down everything seemed to play in slow motion as the Justicar twirled in mid air with his sword gripped in both hands and with one sweep of his weapon he severed Legion's left arm. The limb fell to the ground as the silver knight landed on top of a zombie crushing it beneath his plate boots.

"What's good scale face?" the Justicar said with a smirk under his helmet

"You idiot you caused more of these things to appear!" shouted Liken as she growled at him

The Justicar turned to see the severed arm was now hundreds of tiny zombie servants and that Legion regenerated its missing limb.

"Oh god damn it!" yelled the Justicar when his communication window inside his heads up display appeared showing the same marine at his work station.

"Bleedin hell it's the MKI Justicar!" yelled the marine as he waved his coworkers over "Hey, where did the other guy go"

"I am the Justicar!" he yelled back as he slew several servants with a strike of his blade.

"What happened to our drop ship?" The marine asked

The Justicar panned the camera to show the Legion and its army of undead. "That fucking happened!"

The marine panicked and began using his touch screen to issue orders to the other marines on stand by.

"We have several strike teams inbound on your position, estimated time of arrival...two minutes."

The Justicar slew anther horde of attackers with a sweep of his blade when his backside touched Liken's. He shoved a large group of zombies away with his shoulder, the lead zombie in front fell backwards causing a domino affect against its comrades.

"They just keep coming!" the silver knight said, stating the obvious. A zombie jumped at the Justicar but he took a step forward and threw his blade impaling the mid air undead then he turned his head over to Liken who just tore the face off one of Legion's servants.

"Get down!" he ordered.

The Justicar's helmet highlighted one of the many zombies with a red laser for him so he could use his weapon as a make shift boomerang. He picked up his weapon then threw it once more, using the red laser guide, he controlled where the blade spun in mid air. The twirling blade made clean kills out of all the monsters but Liken still wasn't low to the floor like he asked her to be but before his weapon would cut her in half by the waist he threw her to the ground with his left hand before the blade could make a full complete circle.

Liken growled from the Justicar's rudeness and slapped her tail against his helmet. The Justicar was about to hit her back when Legion made anther Meta scream as more of its minions crawled from off its body. The two heroes stood shoulder to shoulder as an even larger wave of zombies was formed ready to attack, until quite suddenly an explosion decimated a good chunk of their numbers.

"For the President!" Yelled a number of marines as they leaped from their hovering transports.

The VALOR marines fired their various weapons, some carrying the standard assault rifles while other using much more powerful chain guns that reacquired a second man to help operate.

"Die you sons of bitches!" Yelled one of the chain gun wielding marines, his voice tone contrasting the words he said as he mowed down scores of undead with his weapon scanning and targeting each individual undead so one round took down a single servant each time.

Arjun slapped Liken upside the head to get her attention as she was about to go after the undead servants. She made a low pitch growl but the Justicar pointed at Legion who now had an open path to it as the marines engaged its servants.

Legion slammed its fist on the ground trying to flatten the two heroes but the Meta undead was much too slow. The Justicar gripped his blade with both hands and severed the monster's arm once more but again the arm fell apart and more of the servants arose.

"Missile ten armed, firing!" said the voice of one of the drop ship pilots. The left missile box under the drop ship's wing ignited sending the explosive right into the Legion. The blast took a huge chunk out of the monster and left nothing to be risen again, the massive undeath staggered d around as the blast had knocked it silly.

"It still kicking, hit it again!" yelled one of the marines on the ground.

"I got this, pull back from that bastard" ordered the Justicar. He waited for the marines to get behind him. "Divert all auxiliary power to weapon." He said to his suit.

The knight's weapon began to glow with unparalleled power as his suit put more and more power into the single attack. The Justicar held his blade over his shoulder and started to run towards the monster and with the power of momentum he threw the unstable sword straight into the open wound of the Legion. In a defining and blinding blast the massive undead was disintegrated from the force of the explosion, when all was able to be seen again the Justicar's blade was gone as the explosion ripped open several decks below the level they were on. The Justicar held out his open hand allowing his weapon to fly up from the levels below back to his open palm.

"I wonder how many kills that counted for?" the Justicar pondered.

[Planet Drakos, Caer Cidi. Azerigan's Cave. Year 3,568 AD, November 24th, 7:00 AM]

Azerigan stood preached at the entrance of his dwelling. He watched over the sprawling city to look at his kingdom he helped shaped over the many years as his position of first mate to the Queen Matriarch. His people had suffer too many hardships in the past when their race was young, long before the infinite ever met his people they were all slaves to a massive empire that spanned across almost every star system they were all forced to do their manual labour with no concern for their health and safety. They were cheap and expendable, many died each day. It was only until the infinite arrived where they freed, the slavers underestimated the infinite and thought they would make even better slave labour but as soon as they contained the first group of infinite in their suits they were slaughtered as the infinite could now directly interfere with the physical realm. The infinite did much more than free them; they slaughtered their oppressors like dogs, killing every one of them down to the last man, woman and child. This is why Azerigan did not trust Vurdamis and his followers; no one killed with such efficiency and had noble intentions.

"Azerigan, why are you still up?" said the soft voice of a dragoness behind him

"Its nothing Talsora, go back to sleep." He replied back. He took a glance at his consort she did not wear any of the many gifts he has gotten over the years of their commitment but that was because it was still early and jewellery was painful to sleep with. Her undamaged green scales were opposite of Azerigan's worn and scarred dirty scales caused by the many battles he fought in

"No it is not "nothing" there is always something wrong when you are up at this hour, before it was when our youngest was very sick...what's the matter?" She asked again while she walked up to him then sat down beside the armoured dragon as his attention was on the city below. "Don't tell me you're still bothering Vurdamis!"

Azerigan didn't respond instead he just shifted his head away from his mate so he wouldn't have to look her in the eye which was all she needed to know. "What have I told you about this? Do you know how embarrassing it is to see kin talking behind your back because your mate is growing paranoid to a trusted friend?" She reached up and grabbed her mate's maw and turned his head so his eyes met her. "Azerigan please, there is no reason why you should be behaving like this, for goodness sakes you're the prime consort to our majesty! Vurdamis and his people have done no wrong to us at any point; they even died for our freedom!"

Azerigan lashed back in anger. "I know what I am doing!"

"Do you? Do you Azerigan! Because right now it looks like you're just trying to find any little reason to hate him! Please listen to me, if you continue acting like this you will lose your position has prime consort or even banishment! We have hatchlings to care for Azerigan, they need a father, and we need you."

"I am doing this for us Talsora! The infinite can't be trust-"Azerigan responded before he was cut off.

"You stop this right now! We can't be a family if you stay this way; either you give up your insane stalking or I will take the young ones and find a proper mate!"

Azerigan bowed his head down as he understood his ultimatum. "I'm sorry." He simply put

Talsora sighed in relief. "You still have time to get some shut eye before you are needed. Go rest, I'll get you some breakfast."

Azerigan walked backed into the somewhat dark cave to make up on his sleep loss while his consort took off from the ledge flying off into the distance.

[Milky Way Galaxy: Neutral Territory: VALOR Flag Ship: Daring Hope: Command Bridge. Year 3,568 AD, November 24th, 7:49 AM]

The electronic doors to the bridge opened up allowing a well dressed VALOR diplomat and his two marine bodyguards to enter the command centre of the human war vessel. The middle aged captain stood up from his chair and greeted the ambassador.

"It is good timing that you arrive when you did Mr. Holden; the Draconians are on our long range scanners and should be here for the diplomacy. I'm not much of a talker but I'm positive you can handle this without my help." The captain said gratefully

"Oh I'm sure I will do fine without you." Said the diplomat before he drew his side arm and shot the captain in the chest. The diplomat nodded to his marine body guards who immediately jumped into the air as their arms and legs exploded to reveal they had blades replacing their limbs.

"Open fire!" yelled one of the bridge guards.

The diplomat was defended by his guards, the power armoured blade dancers reflected every single round fired from the machine guns with their metal limbs back at the marines keeping the traitor safe and all the marines ripped apart from their own ammunition.

"Phase one has been completed." The diplomat said as he went over to a work station, stepping over a marine who has been riddled with his own bullets.

"The icy touch of death will soon be upon these misbegotten races! Commence phase two on schedule" Vurdamis ordered over the communication headset.

"Mmm so demanding..." responded the ambassador has he turned off environmental controls to kill off the remaining crew.

"Just do it Baphomet."

Baphomet looked out the main view port of the command room to see a large red light heading straight for the ship. The beam passed through the reinforced glass window into the bridge causing several lizard men warriors and their own ambassador to appear inside. The alien guards immediately readied their poleaxe weapons as they clearly saw the dead marines and the two mutated ones.

"What is the meaning of this!" the well dressed draconian ambassador asked

"Plans have changed." Baphomet answered before the two armoured blade dancers tore into the group like lambs to the slaughter.

The two blade dancers cleaned their blades by scraping their arms and legs together to rid themselves of any gore still on them, the clanking of metal being hit together annoyed Baphomet as she told the two to be quiet before she contacted Vurdamis who waited for an update inside Dark spire.

"It's done." She reported.

"Oh good!" said the positive voice of Malero over Baphomet's headset. "I'll send my students to gather the remains of the ambassador so he can be turned into one of my creations. In the mean time you will take his form so you can tell the Queen Matriarch of what "really" happened here." Malero then ended his order with an insane laugh.

Baphomet's shell of the human emissary remoulded itself so she now looked identical to that of the draconian.
